Zip text attachment using so_document_send_api1

hi
i have a requirement to send the text file attachment and mail after zipping the attachment.
I have used fm so document send api1 to attach the text file and send to mail.But somehow i am not able to zip the file first.
i have also tried using the fm so new document send api1 but again no success.
Can someone send me a full sample code which i can refer ?.
Thanks in advance

A more precise statement might get you better answers.... "But somehow i am not able to zip the file first."  Does that mean your program can't obtain the file or that you are unable to attach to emai or ??
See SAP Note 609696 for working code samples and documentation for these APIs, if you want to continue to use these out-of-date methods ( see BCS classes/sample programs for state-of-product email).

  • Excel attachment using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1

    Hi
    I am using FM SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send .XLS attachment from ABAP program.
    I am using following code to calculate the size.
    DESCRIBE TABLE t_attachment LINES t_packing_list-body_num.
    t_packing_list-doc_size   =  t_packing_list-body_num * 255.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1'
           EXPORTING
                document_data              = w_doc_data
                put_in_outbox              = 'X'
                sender_address             = ld_sender_address
                sender_address_type        = ld_sender_address_type
                commit_work                = 'X'
           IMPORTING
                sent_to_all                = w_sent_all
           TABLES
                packing_list               = t_packing_list
                contents_bin               = t_attachment
                contents_txt               = it_message
                receivers                  = t_receivers
    (I have posted only relevant code)
    This was working fine in 4.7. But since upgrade to 6.0, the attachment is transferred only half the actual size.
    i.e. if my internal table shows 4 records, the attachment in the mail shows only 2 records.
    What can be done in this case. A simple solution would be to multiply the size by 2.
    t_packing_list-doc_size   =  t_packing_list-body_num * 255 * 2.
    This works, but does seem like a work around.
    What could be the reason for this and what should be the solution?

    Hi,
    I am also using 6.0 and similar logic is working fine to calculate the size. I think there must be some problem some where else in the code. Can you put your code that you have used.
    Thanks & Regards
    Rocky

    hello guys, i'm a newbie here.
    I'm having trouble attaching an existing text file using function 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1'. It seems i can't find the right combination of parameters that are being passed to this function.
    first, i'm using WS_UPLOAD to upload the text file to an internal table then i'm creating all the neccessary internal tables that will be use by this function..

    Kolyei, sorry for the late reply.
    Have your brother create a contact in his phone for himself. Inside his own contact, have him add his phone number and his iCloud address.
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive Have your brother select both his phone number and email addresses where he would like to receive iMessages.

  • Excel attachment with SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1

    Hello Everyone,
    I am using SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 for sending mail.
    It works well with text attachment.
    Whereas with excel attachment:
    The fn module for sending mail ‘SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1’ gives return code zero.
    The excel attachment mail can be seen in transaction SOST. But its process fails stating that it cannot be converted.
    (Message : Message cannot be processed as it cannot be converted)
    Can anyone suggest me what might be wrong ??

  • How to download / read  text attachment  in Sender Mail Adapter  IN XI

    Hi
    I would like to know how to download / read text attachment in sender mail Adapter & sent same attachment to target system using file adapter.
    Please help how to design / resolve this concept.
    Regards
    DSR

    I would like to know how to download / read text attachment in sender mail Adapter & sent same
    attachment to target system using file adapter.
    Take help from this blog:
    /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/12/18/xi-sender-mail-adapter--payloadswapbean--step-by-step
    From the blog:
    However in most cases
    our message will not be a part of the e-mail's payload but will be sent as a file attachment.
    Can XI's mail adapter handle such scenarios? Sure it can but with a little help
    from the PayloadSwapBean adapter module
    Once your message (attachment) is read by the sender CC, you can perform the basic mapping requirement (if any) to convert the mail message fromat to the file format.....configure a receiver FILE CC and send the message...this should be the design...

    Abhishek.

  • HOW TO SEND A HEBREW EMAIL WITH ATTACHMENT USING DEMO_MAIL

    Hello All,
    This is Not a question , just attaching something I've implemented and might be interesting for few of us,
    This package I'm attaching allows to send Hebrew Language email + attaching files to it.
    This package is based on demo_mail package (combined here but you can search at google for more example information if needed).
    My Package is supplied as is , for any specific information regarding it , please contact me directly at : [email protected] or POST here.
    * Please also note , that this package allow file to be attach via URL (meaning you will have to define a link to this file, if you would like to implement a link to a local file , e.g : c:\temp\myfile , you will have to customize the package your self with database directories option etc ...)
    First I will attach an example of how to use it :
    ==================================
    begin
    demo_mail_heb.send_html_mail_attach(p_sender => '[email protected]',
    p_recipients => '[email protected]',
    p_subject => 'שלום וברכה עולם',
    p_data => '<hr><b>בוקר טוב</b><hr>',
    p_file_name => 'but_choose_file.gif',
    p_file_mime_type => 'application/pdf',
    p_file_URL => 'http://10.172.246.160:7777/i/but_choose_file.gif');
    end;
    Second Here is the Package (please note you will have to modify few settings in order to enable it , such as mail server address ..etc)

    Hi,
    What ever text you are sending in the email, create a standard text for it using tcode SO10. In the program use the FM READ_TEXT to get the data into internal table which will be of length 132 char. If you want line widht of 255 chars convert using FM SX_TABLE_LINE_WIDTH_CHANGE as below,
    CALL FUNCTION 'SX_TABLE_LINE_WIDTH_CHANGE'
        EXPORTING
          line_width_dst              = '255'
        TABLES
          content_in                  =  it_data
          content_out                 = it_mess_att
        EXCEPTIONS
          err_line_width_src_too_long = 1
          err_line_width_dst_too_long = 2
          err_conv_failed             = 3
          OTHERS                      = 4.
    Use FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send email.
    Hope this will help you.
    regards,
    Tulasi.

  • Sending an email with text Content using SMTP Adapter.

    I am trying to send an email Message with the .txt attachment using SMTP adapter. I am getting an XML input and I am mapping the input Schema to Flat File Schema. I am trying to Send this Flat File(.txt attachment) in the Email. But I am receiving it as
    HTML format only.
    The Expression in the Message Transform is,
         SMTPUtils.Part.SetContentType(OutgoingFlatFile_Msg.BodyFlatFile,"text");
         OutgoingFlatFile_Msg(SMTP.EmailBodyTextCharset)="UTF-8";
         DynamicEmailPort(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Address) = "mailto:[email protected]";
         OutgoingFlatFile_Msg(SMTP.CC) = "[email protected]";
         OutgoingFlatFile_Msg(SMTP.Subject) = "TESTMAIL";
         OutgoingFlatFile_Msg(SMTP.From) = "[email protected]";
         OutgoingFlatFile_Msg(SMTP.SMTPHost) = "smtp.org";
         OutgoingFlatFile_Msg(SMTP.SMTPAuthenticate) = 0;
    The Email attachment is HTML format,
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><ns0:Root xmlns:ns0="http://SampleSMTPEmail.OutgoingFlatFile"><Record><CustomerID>Cus001</CustomerID><OrderID>Ord001</OrderID></Record></ns0:Root>
    How to attach the .txt file to the email.

    Have you tried the following steps:
    Create the message (“msgEnvelope”) as a Multi-Part message, with the required message in the Message Body Part (“Attachment”)
    Set the following properties of the Envelope Message:
    msgEnvelope(SMTP.Subject) = <Email Subject>;
    msgEnvelope(SMTP.From) = <Sender Email>;
    msgEnvelope(SMTP.SMTPHost) = <Email Host name>";
    // This is the default value
    msgEnvelope(SMTP.SMTPAuthenticate) = 0;
    // Set the message text included in the email
    msgEnvelope(SMTP.EmailBodyText) = <Text in body of email>;
    // Important - This is required if the EmailBodyText is set
    msgEnvelope(SMTP.EmailBodyTextCharset) = "utf-8";
    // A value of '1' means include Message Body Part as email attachment
    msgEnvelope(SMTP.MessagePartsAttachments) = 1;
    Set the following properties of the Message Body Part (“Attachment”):
    // Important - Change this MIME type if not sending a Text file
    msgEnvelope.Attachment(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.ContentType) = "text/plain";
    // Set the Filename of the attachment
    msgEnvelope.Attachment(MIME.FileName) = <Physical name of the attachment>;
    Set the following property on the Dynamic Send Port:
    // We set the Email Address on the Port itself
    Dynamic_Send_Port(Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Address) = <recipient email address>;

  • Receiver mail adapter - Payload as a Text attachment

    Hi,
    In my proxy to mail adapter scenario, when i want to send payload to email as a Text email, where i need to content conversion in XI (XML to Txt file)
    when i send payload, currently i am receiving as a XML file.
    I try to follow like Rushikesh Deshmukh XI thread: Text Attachment in Mail Adapter  in XI forum(topic)
    I have having following config
    Processing Sequence
    localejbs/CreateAttachment Local Enterprise Bean XML2Plain
    localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean Local Enterprise Bean mail
    Module Configuration

    Please suggest some solution."
    Could you tell me exactly where i need to do all these setting and
    do i need import localejbs/CreateAttachment Local Enterprise Bean XML2Plain...I mean shall i add same in my processing sequence
    give in detail ? (in Receiver mail adapter Communication channel,  advanced mode additional parameters)
    I tried to follow this also
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/4e/c153426da9bd30e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    but i could not find much info on this help.sap.com reg. req.
    Thanks

    Hi
    f i create like this Receiver CC (module Tab)
    number: 1
    Module Name: localejbs/CreateAttachment
    Module Type: Local Enterprise Bean
    Module Key: mail
    is it enough? do i need any other setting like this
    Did you deployed CreateAttachment on PI server. As this is not a standard SAP module this is a custom module?
    mail as module key is already used by XIMAILAdapterBean use some other key for CreateAttachment
    Settings are fine for the Module
    Processing Sequence
    localejbs/CreateAttachment Local Enterprise Bean XML2Plain
    localejbs/sap.com/com.sap.aii.adapter.mail.app/XIMailAdapterBean Local Enterprise Bean mail
    Module Configuration
    XML2Plain Transform.Class com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    In this:
    Module Key: XML2Plain
    Parameter Name: Transform.Class
    Parameter Value: com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    is it right?
    Processing sequence is fine
    XML2Plain Transform.ContentType text/plain;charset=utf-8
    XML2Plain xml.Header1000.fieldFixedLengths 100,10,10,30,30,80,80,20,10,10,20,20,30,10,18,240,10,30,18,10
    XML2Plain xml.Header2000.fieldFixedLengths 100,30,40,240
    XML2Plain xml.addHeaderLine 0
    XML2Plain xml.conversionType StructXML2Plain
    XML2Plain xml.recordsetStructure Header1000,Header2000
    can i anyone explain how to these settings?
    Is this key valid to provide inputs to the module check with the code for this module
    This looks like valid for MessageTransformBean ro StrictXMLtoPlainBean
    Thanks
