Zipexception while starting oc4j
I'm getting the following exception when starting oc4j:
java -jar oc4j.jar
However, everything seems to be running ok. I've got this problem right from the start (right from install-even during install).

Hi Nik,
Can you actually reproduce this problem with the SUN JDK 1.3.x? If not it's most likely an IBM JDK related issue.

this dosent affect any other operations of the server. Moreover this error does not happen when we use
jdk 1.3.X versions

I am trying to start oc4j using " java -jar oc4j.jar " from the command line but i get an error oracle.classloader.util.AnnotatedClassFormatError" Unsupported major.minor version 49.0

A simple way out is to start your oc4j using java from a jdk 1.5 installation. JDK_1.5_HOME/bin/java -jar oc4j.jar Google "java Unsupported major.minor version" to learn what the error message means. -

Exception while starting OC4J 10g
When ever I start OC4J, I get the following exception thrown. Althopugh my container starts. Also when I try to connect using admin_client.jar for deploying any CMP EJB, it fails to connect.
I am using JDK 1.4.2 even when I invoke with JDev 10g java executable I get the same error.
Can some one please help me. I am desperately looking to get started with 10g

Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE 10g (10.0.3.0.0) - Developer Preview initializedGot the issue resolved after lot of pain
The problem is with config/application.xml file shipped with OC4J
It doesn't have an entry to point to the required lib directories
Adding the below two entries resolved the issue

Error 1053 comes out while starting oc4j service through windows services
HI EVERYBODY
I face some problem and I'll be very happy if i recieved any reply from u.
here is my problem :
I used the code which starts/stops OC4J-standalone as a Windows service using
java service for install and uninstall the service(the code is shown down),however the code works well
and the service install and uninstall successfully.
but when I start the service throught the windows servecis manager this error comes out:
* Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
and the status of the service stay "starting"*
I found solution by adding "DWORD Value" in the registry and modify it to 60000
but it didn't work and still this error come out.
Any help will be appreciated.

RameshUsing the OTN2 tech preview build 4684 now available on OTN, I used the JDEVHOME/jdev/bin/start_oc4j script to startup the embedded server in standalone mode and cannot reproduce these errors.
Can you try with build 4684 from OTN and see if the same issue still reproduces?
If so, does it occur even before ever deploying any applications of your own to the instance? -

Edited by: user4584823 on Jan 8, 2010 2:54 AMI don't think is possible that your server doesn't have a name, you need to correct this, problem of using this name is that the configuration of the OAS will use the ip 127.0.0.0 and if for some reason it found the othe ip, it will be seen as an ip change and this kind of errors could happen.
I think you have to correct this, set a name for the server, put it in the host file and reinstall, in the installation notes there is one part in the prerequisits, that ask you to check that you have set this correctly, use a qualified name hostname.domainname and by preference an static IP and this has to match the hostname command.

Please suggestAre you seeing this error when you try to start the OC4J_home component? Or when you try to start all of iAS?
I would suggest that you attempt to start the components one by one to see which one has a problem with starting up... -

An error occurred while starting "OCMRepeater". The component was not found
I just built up an OVM 2.2 machine and then installed the manager 2.2 template followed by the 10.2.0.5 OMS Grid control template. I've got all the systems up and functional via those templates at this point but the Grid Control server starts up with 2 targets down. When I dig into it it really looks to only be the OCMRepeater under the Application Server and so both the Application Server and the OCMRepeater show as down targets. When I try to start the OCMRepeater from the I am asked for the OS username and password. I supply it with username oracle and the oracle password, which I have verified by logging into the VM. When I hit continue it tells me it is starting the component and then comes back with the following message.
An error occurred while starting "OCMRepeater".
The component was not found in the Oracle Home.
On a fresh install I really think that my Overview pie chart should be a 100% up all green affair. Can anyone give me a hand and help me figure out how to get everything running properly here?

Receiving a ZipException when starting Tomcat
I have a .war file in my webapps directory representing my application
based on the Jato framework. I'm getting the exception below when it
trys to grab my war file and expand it. The end result gives me a
Voyager/ directory but the directory is totally empty. If I un-tar the
war file in my webapps directory, everything works fine. Does anyone
have any ideas as to why I'm getting this Exception? The .war file has
read, write and execute permissions...

Normally when ever I make any changes in Oracle Sensor Edge Server, I used to get this error..
I have installed the Oracle Apps Server in Windows enviroment...

Nasimi got the same error but in my case, I used HTTPDispatcher and found that the URL parameter was invalid, so I changed it in the edgeserver.xml and restart, it's ok for me.
