11g TP3 [ER] Offline database / Expression builder for naming conventions

I would be nice to have a way to define some project specific standards for name generated automatically by jdev.
In big projects its really not fun to update each foreign key and foreign key attributes to be conform to some standards.
Why not using an expression builder with regular expression to build the standard form of name generated by JDev and set the expression in the project properties.

I am able to fix this issue. After a series of R & D I was able to find that the root cause is %APPDATA%\jdeveloper. Deleting the relevant directory will solve this issue. In fact, I tried to delete the entire jdeveloper directory under %APPDATA% and the jdev 11.1.1.7 form generation issue got resolved. Those who find "referential integrity" issue may follow this approach.
This solution also applies to this thread

  • Do you have suggestions for naming conventions within AIF?

    Hi Folks!
    Being new to AIF I'm currently in the information gathering phase for myself and colleagues as we are starting to think about implementing interfaces with the help of this toolbox. I already found and read (or at least skimmed!) through various of your discussions as well as the very helpful blog posts from Verena, Michal and Andrey.
    One of the first things we want to do - before we really get started for real - is to come up with some feasible naming conventions for the various customizable bits and pieces like
    Namespace
    Interface Name
    SAP Data Structure (if applicable?)
    We also have some general questions:
    Does it make sense to prepare for one namespace per SAP-module or is it better to have just one and do the separation on the Interface name "level"?
    Is it preferred - even though SAP doesn't seem to enforce this - to start our own names with a "Z"?
    Searching SCN for "naming convention aif" didn't find anything related and while scrolling through the discussion forum I also didn't see any titles which might go into this direction. In order for us to not re-invent the wheel - or to start off in the wrong direction - I'm hoping to get some helpful pointers from you.
    Thanks much for any feedback you have!
    Cheers from Germany
    Baerbel

    Hi Bärbel,
    Your question is very good. We had the same and decided for following own approach:
    Namespace
    A Namespace is a concatenation of business process and SAP module, e.g. O2C_AR, P2P_AP, P2P_MM, R2R_GL.
    We have one global namespace for global objects as checks on currency code, date format value mappings, etc.
    Interface NameEvery interface has its own name. To be honest for inbound interface the names are more a user friendly description, for outbound we follow a little rule that they start with OUT_.
    SAP Data Structure (if applicable?)
    We try to do the structure mapping in the middle-ware and AIF is only responsible for the functional mappings.
    The root structure name is different between raw data and SAP data. But the sub structure and field names are equal. Because of this we can use the move corresponding fields or in some only monitoring interfaces even move corresponding structures.
    We also have some general questions:
    Does it make sense to prepare for one namespace per SAP-module or is it better to have just one and do the separation on the Interface name "level"?Because AIF support and business users differ in different business processes we separated in these processes and modules. In addition the recipients groups are similar to the name spaces.
    Is it preferred - even though SAP doesn't seem to enforce this - to start our own names with a "Z"?For namespaces (six characters) and interface names (10 characters) we don’t.
    Best wishes
    Christoph

  • Checking for empty tags using expression builder for XPATH

    I am creating several filters in a mediator for several parallel paths. I am trying to route the mediator to the correct DB adapter based on what tags are empty in the incoming XML. The XML has 1 required tag and 3 optional. So for the expression, I am using the expression builder to load the tag name then putting either [text()] or [not(text())] immediately after each tag with an "and" in between for the 3 optional elements. The problem I am having is they always return false. For example, if I enter a value for an optional tag and put [text()] after it, it evaluates to false. What is the correct way to check if an element has text or not?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Its not recognizing the getVariableData func... instead try this:
    string-length(xpath)>0
    ex: string-length($in.body/imp1:manoj/imp1:C1)>0
    It works... Happy deploying ... :)

  • JDEV 11G TP4 [BUG]: Offline Database / Copying project from workspace

    I have two workspaces.
    In these two workspaces i have a Documentation project containing offline database objects.
    Workspace 1
    +Documentation
    +connection
    +schema
    +objects
    +schema
    +objects
    Workspace 1
    +Documentation
    +connection
    +schema
    +objects
    +schema
    +objects
    I would like to copy the content of one schema from workspace 1 to a project in the workspace 2.
    Both schema have same name.
    Connection is different.
    The active workspace is workspace 2.
    In the wizard i'm able to select the Application (workspace), the project but the connection listed is only the one for workspace 2 (the active one). It normally has to be the ones corresponding to workspace 1 that i selected has the source for the copy.
    The result it that i got the list of objects from Documentation project from workspace 2 instead the desired ones from workspace 1.
    Hope its help

    Loose it again today ... please is it possible to address this problem ... it's really frustrating each time restore the configuration file.

  • JDEV 11G TP3 : Private virtual database / prepareSession overriding

    I'm implementing PVD in a ADF BC project.
    All the business components will access the database using the PVD, with no exception. The documentation explain how to override the prepareSession in application modules. We will have more than one application module and I would prefer to set our context parameters into one place instead of in each application module.
    I think it is a better design to override oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl once instead the application modules and change base class to the overrided class in the ADF BC project properties for application modules.
    I would like a confirmation for this design.

    Found needed confirmation in chapter 35 ADF Developer Guide.
    Thank you guys.

  • Release 15, Expression builder for custom fields??

    I am currently setting up a client with Siebel CRM On Demand. The customer is envisioning tracking quantity sold monthly, and would like unit specific. I would ideally like to set up custom fields, for units, and another for revenue. In our demo account, I am able to create custom fields and assign it a field type and create a custom function in the default field.
    However, I noticed in the client's release of Siebel CRM there is NOT the same functionality to create mathematical expressions for a custom field? Does anyone know what happened to this functionality? Is there a way to work around it? I need ideas people!?!
    -Nicole

    Even though I did post this to the wrong section, however I did find my answer.
    It is called Advanced Field Management, it is a feature that needs to get turned on by Customer Service for the client account.
    Thank you

  • Critical Patch Updates Apr 2007 for Oracle10g Database Express edition

    Hi,
    When will Oracle10g Express edition which includes Apr 2007 critical patch updates will be available. We use Oracle10 Database Express ed for development purposes and as per Apr 2007 critical patch update Oracle on XP has a security vulnerabilities that needs to be fixed immediately.
    Thanks You,
    Sushil V. Tundalwar
    Ph: 513 979 9234

    There are no CPUs for XE edition and the downloadable version is not patched either.
    If security is an issue, you'll need to pay up for Standard Edition.
    If it was the Windows-only issue from that CPU that is your concern, the other option is to go to XE on Linux.

  • Expression Builder In Oracle Rule Authoe

    Hi,
    I am using expression builder for making this kind of expression:
    x = y* (new Double(.02))
    where x and y are Double.
    after inserting the variables and operator, validation always fails showing the following message:
    Cannot perform operation. 'RUL-01726: Data type operator for *, at position 10: java.lang.Double * java.lang.Double '
    Please tell me where i am going wrong. It's very urgent.

    Thanks for the reply Phil.
    I think that when I am updating datamodel, it is updating every thing in data model i.e. variables, constraints, functions, facts everything.
    Do you have knowledge of any method in the API which updates only variables??
    Also, i followed a different methodolgy be using RuleSession. have a look at code snippet:
    String rsrl ;
    * Double testValue = 6000.0;*
    * Double discount = new Double(0);*
    * try {*
    * rsrl = dict.ruleSetRL( ruleSetName );*
    * String dmrl = dict.dataModelRL();*
    * RuleSession session = new RuleSession();*
    * session.executeRuleset( dmrl );*
    * session.executeRuleset( rsrl );*
    * discount = (Double)session.callFunctionWithArgument("DM.calculateDiscount",testValue);*
    * System.out.println(" Discount "+discount);*
    * } catch (Exception e) {*
    * e.printStackTrace();*
    Here instead of updating dataModel i am executing ruleSet using session and callingFunction to calculate discount.
    Now if disocunt is populated independent of any other vairable (e.g. discount = 10.0d instead of discount = 10.0*salesValue)
    then it should work. But if discount is dependent on some variable (which has to be global Variable) then it would not populate it.
    This is what i have thought.
    But the above code snippets always give following exception :
    oracle.rules.rl.exceptions.InvocationException: wrong argument type in function or method invocation
    even when function takes arguments in my dictionary.
    Your help is much awaited!! Thanks in advance.

    Methods
    Method names should begin with a verb:
    Examples: GET_STATUS, CREATE_ORDER, DETERMINE_PRICE

    [email protected]

    Rohit,
    if you are speaking about programming, the naming convention depends from the language that you are using, e.g. for Java:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/codeconv/html/CodeConventions.doc8.html
    for abap:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/92/c2b084bc1d11d2958700a0c94260a5/content.htm
    for rdbms:

    etc. etc.

  • Powershell naming conventions for functions

    There is a lot of information about the Verb-Noun naming convention for cmdlets.  I am trying to understand what the recommendation / best practice is for naming  functions.  Personally, I like the idea that if I see Verb-Noun, I know it's
    a cmdlet, and it supports the standard parameters.  However, I'm not sure I see the entire picture.
    Thanks!

    There are as many opinions around this as there are people.  TechNet has some good recommendations for naming conventions, but you should adopt whatever standard you are most comfortable with.  In the end it doesn't much matter which convention
    you adopt, as long as you stick to it and keep it consistent.  Most corporate code doesn't get outside or shared with other businesses and vendors, so the whole purpose of standards and conventions is to keep things straight for YOUR people.  As
    long as you consistently apply your conventions, it doesn't matter.
    I trust that answers your question...
    Thanks
    C

  • Naming Conventions for a BI Project

    Hi Experts,
    I am looking for some guidance on how to name my custom infoobjects,  cubes, process chains, infopackages, sources etc.
    What is the best approach and what naming convention to assign them?
    Thanks,
    Raj Jain

    Hi Rajesh,
    Naming conventions are always followed according to the customer standards... Some ask for Z* objects while others Y*.... If you have to find out how to name your objects.... go to your production system and search some custom objects... this might take some time but will save you the burden of rework.... Always please refer to your production systems for Naming conventions of any objects
