30 days notice

my contract is up in November this year, my question is when do I give 30 days notice?

30 days before your contract end date.
So if your contract end date is the 25th November, you'd give 30 days notice on the 25th October.

  • 2-3 Day Notice Capital One

I have requested credit limit increases on both my Capital One cards.  One card has a CL of 10,000 and was opened 2/15  My other card I haven't asked for a CL increase for almost two years.
Credit with Capital One is good, no bad remarks.
What's your experience with the 2-3 day message in your documents?  Do they usually allow for a CL?

What's your experience with the 2-3 day message in your documents?  Do they usually allow for a CL?  As has been said, 2-3 days are denials.   As for your card opened in February, you may be too early.   The CLIs tend to work after 6 calendar months (might be eligible 1-2 days early).   As for the other card, you may want to check the reasons on this.   If you disagree and would like a manual consideration of the CLI, you would need to contact the EO.

  • Current employer wants 90 days notice, and I have an Interview cross country.

We have a colocated server rack with a local data center and use their DNS.
We were given a range of external IPs we could use. I can navigate to some of them but not others.
I called the data center and they said they don't have anything between us and their DNS and it must be a firewall issue.
I can't figure out what's wrong with my firewall settings though. I'm using a Juniper SSG-550.
I setup a rule that allowed HTTP and PING through and setup a NAT rule for one of the external IPs to an internal one. Can't ping it.
I can ping others that are setup this way, and one IP that has no enabled rules at all!
Where can I start looking to figure out what's going on?

  • Any way to make ios notifications give more than 2 days notice?*

Mountain Lion has a custom setting which allows you to pick any date you want.

....but the iPad calendar does not. What you see is what you get in the iPad calendar. There are no other custom settings for the notifications..

  • Is it possible to change the number of days for a calendar alert?

It would be nice to be able to give a week or ten days notice for such things as anniverdaries and birthdays.  Especially for persons who are not local.  I can't find a way to this and end up sending cards and gifts that ultimately arrive late.  Very frustating.  Apple wake up here and help with this.

Do you have an iCloud account?  What system version are you running? Where do you want to make the change?  In your Calendar app on your MacBook or online in your iCloud account?

  • I have an Iphone 4 and starting two days ago when using either pandora Itunes after two songs i no longer hear sound. This happens whether using the headphones or not. I have to completely turn app off and then back on to get another two songs.

I am not sure why or what happened but for the last two days every time I attempt to listen to any music I am limited to only two songs. I have tried multiple things but nothing is working. The only way for me to get more songs to play is to completely turn the application off and then restart it again. I have to do this repeatedly after only two songs. You can see that the music is still playing but I am getting no sound. Can anyone help with this? Has anyone ever experienced this?

if your minimum term contract has expired then the hub is yours and any warranty has expired.  your monthly payments then revert back to standard terms and any discount you had at outset has ceased.  you then go on a rolling monthly contract and the benefit of keeping that is you can move to another ISP with 30 days notice or 14 days if using a MAC code with no cancellation penalty
in the vast majority of cases if you renogotiate a new contract you can get a better cheaper deal that you are currently paying but you then lose the ability to move at short notice without penalty
you can always phone the options team who are uk based and see what is on offer, including negotiating a new hub, and if you don't like the offer then don't accept  0800800030

  • How much notice do I have to give

I am a BT Total Broadband anywhere option 3 customer with 2 mobiles (very expensive) and regrettably after 32 years with BT it is time to go elsewhere.
I think according to the terms & conditions here -
    http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/dynamicmodules/pagecontentfooter/pageContentF...
If I am moving to a new supplier (not cancelling) through an approved process (presumably MAC & PAC codes) I only have to give 14 days notice see below.......
    Ending the service
Once we have provided the service, you may tell us to stop providing it at any time by giving us 30 days' notice. We will accept notice via a range of methods including phone, e-mail, online chat and in writing. You can contact us to give notice using any of the contact details set out on your last BT bill or any other means of contact we have given you, for that purpose. If you are switching to another provider through an approved process, the notice you must give us will be 14 days. We can stop providing the service to you by giving you 28 days' written notice.
However when I try and get an authoritative answer from a human being I get told it's 30 days. Now my prospective new provider(s) will migrate me in about 10 days, which if the humans are correct, would mean me paying twice for my telecommunication services for 20 days, which does not make any sense at all.
Now I've had a few problems with BT over the last couple of weeks (which is what has prompted me to look elsewhere) and every time I have spoken to someone I have had a different answer to the same question (on different matters). Essentially it is all so complicated, that not even BT's own people know what they are talking about LOL and I have completely lost confidence in them being able to give me the right answer.
So does any one out there know for certain how much notice I am required to give?

Well I'm glad you think it's clear because it isn't clear to Customer Options (quote 30 Days) or Billing (quote 30 Days), neither of whom if they are wrong, have any idea of what BT's terms and conditions are. In fact, customer options thanked me for pointing out to them the 14 days bit which he said he wasn't aware of!!!!!!
It also says -  "We will accept notice via a range of methods including phone, e-mail, online chat and in writing."  but when I asked about giving notice (before I read that bit) guess what? I was told I could not give notice, they would not accept it from me, they would only accept it from the new service provider.
Similar problem last week. I was on holiday in the UK and it looked like I might bust my mobile data limit, so I ring customer options, checked where I was, they can tell you how much you've used up to a couple of hours ago, as the online usage is always 2 days behind, "yes I can add another Gb of data for £10.20 or its £1.50 per Mb if I go over". Wasn't looking too bad on Monday but by Wednesday.......... Please can I add that extra Gb of Data we talked about on Monday? "Errr, no you can't add any extra data but don't worry, its not £1.50 Mb it's only 20p". LOL that's still a lot of money, so I stopped using the phone as a wifi hotspot, which was not exactly convenient.
So as you can see, the people in customer care don't actually know what they are talking about, which is a bit worrying.
BTW The wifi hotspot worked really well ............. on the edge of Exmoor ......... Live streaming TV of Le Mans 24hrs over the weekend. Which is how I nearly bust my data limit LOL.

    Point number 5.
Or from the order confirmation email....
    A note about cancelling
From the day after you order your service, you've got 14 days to cancel without being charged for ending your contract early. But you'll still need to pay for what you use during that time.
If you want to cancel, call us on 0800 800 150 or use the online cancellation form which you can search for in the Help section at bt.com
If you decide to cancel after 14 days, but before the end of your minimum term, you'll need to give us up to 30 days' notice to leave. You'll also need to pay a charge for each month left of your minimum term because you're ending your service early. Find out more at bt.com/termcharges

  • Cancelling issues - won't start 30 days until migr...

I contacted BT around 2 weeks ago to cancel Infinity and phone line. I'm out of contract so was simply serving my 30 days notice but I was today that the notice will begin when the switch completes tomorrow, at which point my BT services will be disconnected.
How can they keep charging you for a month of services when they're no longer being provided, and given that I told them 2 weeks ago that I'm cancelling? What is the best process for complaining about this as it doesn't seem legit that they can do this?

Have you cancelled or have you told them you are migrating. I would guess the latter as they need to cancel your phone etc so that you can be moved to Sky - it is usual to be able to migrate within 15 days without penalties so long as you use a Mac.
All ISPs charge in advance so when you get a final bill these charges should be refunded for the period from tomorrow to whenever they were applied.

  • Upgrading service within contract with 30 day noti...

I signed up for BT Infinty 2 76MB service, but I had a chat with agent and discussed the ability to upgrade my service to 160MB if I wanted and then if I didn't require this I could give 30 days notice and return to my contracted speed.
Another chat with another agent say they are not sure. Does anyone have a difinitive answer on this or a link to the contract?
I know I can call the customer support team tomorrow, but I would like some confirmation I can read or is stated by an Admin from BT here.
    Has anyone ever done this?
    Thanks in advance

  • Why is it so difficult for BT to cancel my account...

    Hi
Please can someone help me I really am at my wits end
At the begining of November I took advantage of the 10 days notice that was offered in BT’s price increase announcement to leave. The notice clearly said I could leave without incurring any penalty. So I arranged with YourCalls.net to take over both my phone and broadband service. This was duly actioned by YourCalls who gave the necessary notice to you and used the migration code you provide. Nice and straight forward wouldn’t you think!
My broadband was active with my new company on 2 Nov and this is where the problems started. I was emailed with new orders; I noted the order numbers VOL012-************ and VOL012-***********. I called to say I had not placed any new orders and could this be looked into. I was firstly told not to worry just ignore them its all part of closing your account. On Saturday 3 November I called again at about 9am a Scottish man called John, I understand, as there were 2 Scottish called John but this one was McGuiness I believe. Now he really worried me by saying my broadband had not stopped I was still being charged and that YourCalls have not used the MAC code therefore I now have a running bill as I’m still being charged for the line rent. He also told me that I now have to request a manual stop to my broadband and as the engineer has to physically go to my exchange and turn it off I will be charged a £30 cessation fee. I tried to explain that this can not be so but he was adamant YourCalls had not used the MAC code and this stop must be generated. I would therefore get a £42 bill as a result!
I worried about this until the afternoon and called back again and spoke to a lady whose name I never noted. She also agreed my broadband was active and forwarded my call to firstly the cancellation section and then onto the billing department who will talk through my newly created bill Andy confirmed I would be charged £42! I also later spoke to a Gary who said the opposite agreed my account had in fact closed, my company had used the code correctly and he would cancel the second order which was still showing as active on my account.
Monday I received a call from an Indian chap as I had put in an email query as I was still not sure if my account was open or closed. At this point I had been told yes you have active broadband to no you don’t to yes you do again. The Indian chap again agreed I have active broadband even though Gary said he had arranged to cancel the order, close my account and remove any cease fees.
The Indian chap transferred me to a very helpful man called Matthew, who actually listened to what I said and confirmed I was right all along my company had used the MAC code correctly and my broadband was with them. He said BT could not have it as well only one company can provide you at a time! He apologised for all the wrong conversations I was given and explained that BT do not have one central computer with all my calls logged so when I called and spoke to the rude Scotsman his screen did not show my broadband had been transferred. When I spoke to billing their screen said different to the cancellation department. From my observations only this seems to have caused the majority of my problems. BUT the major cause was my cancellation had not been actioned correctly an error had allowed to show I had broadband when in fact I had not, Matthew explained. He personally emailed me with confirmation that he had spoken with the relevant departments to finally get my problems resolved. This guy needs to receive some praise as he was the only one who seemed to actually genuinely care! The Scottish guy needs to go on a customer service course because he was dismissive and not interested in the slightest.
So I am hoping this is the end of it. I also received a text yesterday asking me to call BT, that was it, no explanation, no person or department to refer too!. So I dialled the 0800 number didn’t know what option to choose as I never knew which department had called me, got through to someone who after putting me on hold for 13 minutes decided she didn’t know who had sent the text or what BT wanted. Again this text was not registered as being sent on the computer she was looking at!
So all in all a pretty frustrating and stressful time. And reading your forums it seems I am not alone in my situation. It is actually a shame because BT does provide a satisfactory service in regards to the actual phone and broadband. What lets everything down is the disgraceful customer service, your live chat never worked the times I wanted to use it, your customer service agents actually have no idea what is going on with the account it seems and the Indian call centre is not helpful.
After my last 2 phone calls I agreed to participate in the survey that follows after you’ve called BT, even this didn’t work the man repeated several times how I could rate the first question by pressing my number between 1 and 7. I pressed this number 5 times and still he asks me to rate the question!
I’m sorry this has turned into a massive essay but I want you to know what it is like for an ordinary person like me and the frustration it has caused. I think the next hurdle will be my final bill I am expecting the £42 will still appear and I will have another set of calls to make all over again.
Further to the above, I have now been issued with a £86.14 bill. So even after being reassured by BT on at least 4 occasions I am STILL charged further.
I have written to BT twice and this time enclosed:
The original price increase announcement which states I can leave without penalty. As I never received this by email (BT confirmed I was actually never sent it) I called and checked and was told as it is available to view on the BT website I could leave.
Confirmation from my new company that the MAC code was correctly used.
Email confirmation that I would not receive any charges.
I respectfully request that the £55.48 contract charge be removed and also the £30 cessation charge be removed and the advance charge for broadband I no longer have £9.49!. I have this morning been assured (yet again) that these charges will be removed. I am now officially making a complaint as this is now totally unacceptable.
I have spent so much time on the phone, repeating the same information over and over again to just go round in circles. Please once and for all close down my account and do not continue to bill me further.

  • Do I have a problem.  My unit works, but not by the directions

I may be an idiot. I opened my new nano (I got it from my brother) and saw on the side PC + Mac. Ok, I connected it and booted up into LINUX, that is installed on my PC. It is installed on my personal computer, or am I not too wise? So then I went through [deleted] freaks with the do not disconnect screen until I shut down and disconnected.
when I did get Xp booted and downloaded Itunes (just about grew a beard, I have dial up speed)I would eject and get the files in use by another application screen that is famous on this forum. that was by opening itunes first and then connecting the nano.
I found that when I connected the nano first and let the itunes open automatically (this is after reseting once and then restoring) I can get the perfect ok to disconnect message and I thought I was fine.
I got this unit last a week ago today, and over the last few days notice that when I eject, it never anymore says Ok to disconnect, it just gives an apple logo near the top of the itunes screen and the unit lights up and gives a menu.
The nano still works (except that just today I noticed that when playing an album a track will be skipped over, even though I can select and play it individually. also, sometimes when I wake it up it doesn't readily want to continue with progress), so do I have a problem?

Really I think I blundered across the solution.
I had enable disk use just the heck of it and unclicking it made everything as it should be.
I saw a disconnect link that said in later versions of iTunes (I have 7.0.2.16) that one doesn't have to wait for the OK message.
    I should be fine.

  • Disgust and Exasperation with BT "Customer Service...

I am posting this here as really a final attempt to see if anything helpful will actually be done by BT, but I think also as more of a warning to others, as I truly have ben a “victim” of their so called customer service.
To make clear, I don’t really use my landline, the only reason that I even have a landline is for my broadband which I get from another supplier, as I need this for work, it is rather essential, so when there is a problem with the line it causes me great stress as it threatens my ability to work and make money and pay bills etc. Generally the only time I use the phone is if I have to call a free phone number or a number which is chargeable from a mobile.
Over a year ago now, back in July 2011, I had just finished dealing with someone from BT’s head office as I had been forced to go there due to surprise surprise BT not adequately dealing with a complaint, that time due to charges on my bill for calls I hadn’t made. The man I was speaking to, fixed all the problem, re-set up my quarterly direct debits and said if there were ever any issues again to come straight back to him.
Cut to the end of August this year. I happened to pick up the phone to try and call a free phone number when I discovered that the phone could not make outgoing calls. At this point I have had NO communication with BT of ANY kind, calls, emails, texts or letters. Since dealing with their head office the previous year. When I eventually get through to someone, Im informed that the line has been restricted due to non payment of the bill. I asked if there has been a problem with the most recent payment or has a payment bounced and I am informed that in fact BT haven’t taken a payment in a year!!!!! I ask how this is possible, and also how has no one from BT got in contact with me about it, I mean they are supposed to be a Communications company, yet they seem to be severely lacking in communication, as the only reason I knew there was a problem was that I happened to pick up my phone. After speaking to around 3 different people in one of BT’s non English as a first language speaking call centres, various promises of a  callback which funnily enough never happened, and god knows how much cost on my mobile phone bill, I finally managed to speak to a manager to try and figure out what had happened and how we could get this fixed.
I was told by the Manager that they honestly had no idea how firstly they weren’t taking direct debit payments, and secondly how this could have been allowed to run for a year without BT really contacting me about it or even taking any action like restricting the line after the first time they didn’t take a direct debit. I was informed that the balance of the account was over £400. I made the point and the manager agreed that asking a customer to make that kind of payment in one go with no warning, particularly in these circumstances was unacceptable and a solution had to be reached. I said I was happy to pay it off in installments or work something out that way, and the manager also said they would need to check as perhaps some of the bill may have even been supposed to be covered as compensation for part of the previous complaint and due to an oversight may have caused the rest of the year to go untouched, as otherwise she wasn’t really sure how this could have occurred. The Manger then told me that she was going to go away and thoroughly investigate this and speak to the person who had originally set up my direct debit to see if there was any issue there. She told me that she would be looking into this and would then come back to me with the answers to how this happened and also a solution to paying it off. Also while she was looking into this she would restore my line fully, as this was obviously a larger problem at BT’s end. This seemed to be a fair agreement and I told her I looked forward to hearing back from them when they had it sorted out and we could get this cleared up. How foolish I was.
Cut to the end of last month, I had family members in New York and New Jersey on holiday at the time of the hurricane hitting there. One night I picked up the phone to try and get in touch with them to make sure they were okay and I discovered that once again my line had been restricted for outgoing calls. To be clear here, the last time I had any contact with BT was when speaking to the manager at the end of August as described above. As you can imagine, having my line suddenly restricted and considering the circumstances I was particularly angry. I called in the next day, and despite asking what was going on and what had happened to the investigation into my account, instead all I got was a wall of “The account has been restricted due to non payment”. I would respond, yes I get that, but BT were supposed to be resolving the matter and coming back to me with a way to pay off the balance. Again the only response I would be given was “The account has been restricted due to non payment”. No other information, just that statement. I asked to speak to a  manager and was promised a callback from one. It never materialized. I called back in gain, asking for someone to call me about this as I wanted to get it resolved, was promised one but again never received one.
Then last Monday, the  12th of November, I finally called in AGAIN at my expense, and spoke to someone who actually seemed to understand the term “Customer Service”. She took the time to look at the notes, saw that I was supposed to have been called about this but that no one had, and that in fact no one had even bothered to look into my account or even do anything with it. In fact I believe I was told that no one had even accessed my account since the last time I spoke with BT, back in August. I asked her if it should really be this hard for me to set up some sort of payment plan, I mean Im asking a company to let me give them money but they don’t seem to be interested. She apologized and said that she was going to personally pass this to her manager, that she would fully investigate the matter, sort it out and come back to me with the solution so we could resolve the matter and put it to bed. She gave me her word that her manager would be calling me within 48 hours. And guess what? That’s right, I never received any call whatsoever.
So Wednesday this week, 2 days ago, I call back into BT, to ask why this manager hasn’t called me back as promised and what exactly is going on. At this point I get more of the stonewall “The account has been restricted due to non payment”. However also at this point get told that my line is going to be terminated fully this coming Saturday. Again I will point out that no one from BT had communicated this to me in any way, no warning, no letter, text, email or call, from this global telecommunications company. However I am then informed that someone had called and spoke to me the previous Saturday, had given me this information and I had “agreed” with it. I informed the agent that this hadn’t happened, no one from BT had spoke to me on Saturday, and certainly not at the time of 11:30am as it was noted on my account, as I had been out the previous night and had only got in at 8am Saturday morning and went straight to sleep. This didn’t seem to bother them or they just didn’t care as now all that I could get from anyone was “The account has been restricted due to non payment and we are cancelling it on Saturday”. No offer of sorting out to get it paid, no explanation as to what had gone on or why no one had done anything, just  a set response that felt like I was talking to a computer with only one programmed response. I was also informed that my account had now been ring-fenced by a particular department and only they would deal with it and they had no interest in my complaints or issues, they only cared about the bill in full and if not paid then it would be cut of Friday. I pointed out that I had not been given any notification of their action of any kind. The response verbatim I was given was,
“We don’t have to inform you if we are going to restrict or cancel your account, we can just do it”
Also they didn’t seem to care about the fact that someone in their company had blatantly lied and put information on my account saying they had spoke to me about this to inform me of it and I had agreed with it!!!!!! So fraudulent activity by BT and they don’t even seem to care. I asked for the details of the person who had left this note as I wished to complain, but was simply brushed a way with
“Oh we wont give that to you, we will just take care of it internally, you don’t need to worry about it”
I don’t need to worry about false information being put on my account???? I think BT doesn’t really have an understanding of what concerns the average customer, as someone falsifying information on their account is kind of a HUGE deal. At this point I had tried several times by phone and email to contact the person who had dealt with my account last year and had set up the supposed direct debit but surprise surprise, they never responded to one of my attempts, not even a polite message to say they had received it or that someone else might be dealing with it, nothing, not a peep.
At the end of the day with my head ready to explode I finally managed to get a number for a manager in BT’s head office. I called their office line and got to speak to them. I explained the above and they were very sympathetic and apologized, and agreed that the way it had been handled was wrong, and asking someone to pay £400+ without any notification and also when they had previously told me they would be sorting out a payment plan was unacceptable. He then told me he would be passing my information to an executive level complaints operative and that they would call me back the very next day to discuss the problem and get it resolved. Again I pointed out that I didn’t think it would be this much hassle for a person who is trying to set up payments to get it sorted. I then left this call, feeling a lot better as it seemed I was finally going to get this sorted.
However, the next day not only did I not receive a call, but instead I got an email from the person who the matter had been passed to, which simply said, ‘We haven’t had a payment in a year, the direct debits haven’t been taken, we have now sent you duplicate bills so you have a copy of them and you have been informed that the account will cease on Saturday (conveniently leaving out the fact that I was only informed of this the day previously). That was it. I called and left 2 voicemails and responded by email saying that could she please call me as her email has not in any way dealt with any of my issues or even tried to resolve this, and being as one of my biggest issues was that for 3 months I have been constantly calling BT and not one person has been bothered to call me, and the response to my speaking tp a manager at BT’s head office was for her to send me an email that as far as she was concerned I might not even get due to current restrictions on the line. I never received any call from her that day.
That evening I managed to get back in touch with the person from the head office I had spoken to the previous day. I expressed my exasperation that with a major issue where one of the main problems is BT’s seeming inability to call me back when promised, the person who as supposed to be looking into this hadn’t even bothered to call me to find out the issues and what the complaint details were!!!!! I was again promised that he would get her to call me first thing Friday. She did, I spoke with her about an hour ago, and from the fact that I have felt compelled to write this should tell you exactly how helpful she was.
When I answered the phone, the first thing she said to me was, “The only reason for this call is merely a courtesy, it doesn’t matter what you say or what has happened it will not effect the decision to terminate your line tomorrow” If that doesn’t just sum up the entire BT experience for the average customer Im not sure what could. Not only that but she claimed that BT had tried to contact me numerous times in regards to this yet mysteriously could not provide me with a single precise date of any of these supposed communications. I was called a “liar” as she said that I must have noticed that the quarterly direct debits hadn’t come out. This is despite the fact that the entire point of a direct debit is that you don’t have to check it, it just pays it, its how I pay my rent, gas, electricity, broadband, mobile phone and I assumed my phone line. Also if there has ever been an issue, the company involved is usually very quick and good about getting in touch, as its money you owe them/ Not BT though it seems. I said that all I’ve been wanting to do for the last 3 months is get something set up to pay this off. However I’m told that they wont do that that they NEVER allow payment plans (a blatant lie)and that even though I’ve only had 2 days notice and even then nothing in writing, they don’t have to inform me anyway, they can just do what they want.
I tried to point out the effect this would have, I even made it clear that I was perfectly happy that while I was making payments to clear the debt that they could keep the line restricted, but at least still active as otherwise I cant work, I cant make money, I cant pay my rent, I lose my flat, I cant afford to buy food and in essence it royally messes up my life. The response was that they didn’t care and unless the full amount is paid then tough.
However the most disgusting, Blatant and downright underhanded moment (and bear in mind at this point Ive been openly called a liar) came, when I brought up the fact that there is false information on my account, that someone had lied and put fraudulent information on my account. Her response, and I still have trouble accepting this was
“Well I don’t think one of our agents would do that, so Im not even going to look into it”.
Despite the fact that she could confirm that there was no call in under 5 minutes she refused to check it. I asked her to go get the call recording as there wouldn’t be one, and if she wasn’t going to help with my account at least please fix this, someone in BT has put false info on my account and you can check this yourself, it will take you no time, just confirm it. She however again refused to even look into it as she didn’t “THINK” that someone would do that. She also refused to go and listen to or check the calls I had back in August with the manager who had promised to sort out a payment plan and investigate, she refused to check or listen to the call from last Monday where an agent had confirmed that the previous manager was supposed to have done this but hadn’t done anything with it. She refused to do anything in any way that might mean she would have to change the position she had come on the phone to me with and had made clear she didn’t want to change. So in essence this person who is supposed to be trained in customer service and conplaint resolution, didn’t even bother her backside to speak to the customer making a complaint to find out the issues, just decided to check a  few notes, not pay any real attention and sho a complete lack of respect to me. I mean she openly accused me of being a liar on the call and in the same breath refused to go and check if one of BT’s agents had lied themselves about calling me and me “agreeing” to all this. Funny, I was sure one of BT’s slogans was “Its good to talk”
So here I am, Im told my account will be terminated tomorrow and it seems that no one at BT cares, or even wants to solve the problem. Also they don’t care that this is going to have a massive effect on me and my life, without my internet access I cant work, and if I cant do that then I lose my livelihood, my home, the food on my plate and everything I have. Oh and look, just in time for Christmas. I have been asking for 3 months to get this paid off in a sensible way and for 3 months I have been assured they would take care of it, then fobbed off nad forgotten about. And now BT have made it abundantly clear that they really have no interest or concern for their customers in any way.
I write this in the vain hope that someone might be able to help me here, however being as there is less than 12 hours till Saturday I doubt it.  I think to be honest its more so that other people are aware of just how shockingly bad BT’s service really is, and that watch yourselves and not only will they lie, abuse, insult and cause you great trauma, but that they will also refuse to accept any responsibility for their words, their action, their promises, and especially their mistakes and faults, as as far as they are concerned they don’t make any, and wont even look into seeing if they have. Truly a company that doesn’t care

Its quarterly billing, and on direct debit, so the whole point there is it takes care of itself.
It aso didnt hurt that as I said, I had no communication from BT in that year, no calls, emails, texts, letters nothing. They sent me no letter to say that there had been a missed payment, they took no action due to this, still something at this point that no one has been able to explain how that happened. Also the direct debit was set up by someon from their executive level complaints deaprtment, so you would think it would work ok. But apparantly 3 months later they didnt take a payment, and kept not taking payments or getting in touch with me about it, they just did notning. Then after a year, again without any warning or notification restricted my line, which as it turnds out was an automatic process, no one had any clue about what had been going on. Hence why the first manager I spoke to about it said she was going to have to investigate how this happened and obviously work out a repaymnt package. Though as par for the course from that point on I never received a callback from BT at any point, I called them often enough, but they never could be bothered it seemed to get back in touch.
Also my bills arent exaclty large, as I say the only reason I even have a landline is for my internet access for work so its not as if its a huge amount and its every 3 months so not something really on your radar. Again thats the point of DD and what you assume is a professional and capapble company.

  • Can someone please help me decide on a new plan?

I'm currently on BT Total Broadband Option 1.
    I'm currently out of contract.
The plan itself is £13.83 but I'm constantly going over my 10GB usage allowance so seeing additional fees of £5.30-£10.60 per month, I need a plan with higher usage allowance to avoid additional charges. BUT I'm on disability benefits so it has to be cheap, staying under £20 p/m. I'm really confused by the different options, and I can't seem to see anywhere that allows me to compare different plans to figure out which would be best for me - priority is to increase my monthly usage by at least double (20GB), faster speed would be nice too.
FYI - I'm unable to use a phone due to disability, so I can't call BT directly to talk through my options.
What plan do I go for?
Can I also say it's a bit annoying looking at what I could get as a new customer - it seems I could get faster broadband with much higher allowance for under £20 p/m, with half-price for first 6 months and £100 Sainsbury vouchers, plus of course a cuddly toy if I go through comparethemarket. Wish they'd offer something nice like this to existing customers!

Have you seen this web page? It suggests that same speed Unlimited Broadband is £16. Infinity 1 (20GB) is £15 but with a £30 activation fee. There is also an Infinity Extra (40GB) package but for some reason it isn't listed on that page aimed at existing customers.
    Upgrade your BT Broadband
One problem with going through the web site ordering process is that there is no chance for you to discuss any additional freebies or discount with BT (often available for combined Broadband and Calls packages). Why should they give you any additional freebie or discount? Well because you are currently free to leave with just 30 days notice, but may be prepared to sell your soul to BT for another 12/18/24 months if they make you a good enough offer. As you know, there are plenty of other ISP's who collect souls and will bend over backwards to get yours on a fantastic new deal.
There is always the BT Tariff Guide for information, but if you can make clear sense of that then you are doing well.
Could you possibly also use the BT Online Chat facility available via the Contact Us link at the top of this page to get more information?
