Analytics dashboard question

I'm a Captivate user and I wanted to get a better understanding of the Analytics Dashboard so I've downloaded the Presenter 9 trial. I've enabled analytics as well as reporting for a SCORM 2004 environment, published a file with multiple questions, and uploaded the zip SCO into my LMS as well as into SCORM cloud.
When I launch the module I'm presented with the user login prompt, but when I enter my information and click Sign In I get an error message "Error connecting to server, try again." If I continually try to login it will eventually move into the content.
I've also tried launching the content without the SCORM reporting turned on and running the module from a web server, but I still get at least one error message about being unable to connect to the server.
In all three cases, the data from the attempts isn't updated in the learning dashboard. Since I haven't found any information about how this functions I'm guessing that either the data doesn't get updated dynamically or that the error messages are causing the problem.
Can anyone enlighten me to these issues?

Sorry to know that you are facing problems with Analytics dashboard in Presenter.
Can you tell us if you could connect to als.adobe.com when you were getting this message?
Our server was down for few hours yesterday for maintanence and this was informed to all existing customers.

    I am new to Business Intelligence Applications and keen on learning it.
    I know Informatica and OBIEE(Not a very experienced person).
    I have installed BIA on my local windows machine.
    I am using Oracle Apps as the source.
    In the execute tab I selected the HR-Oracle 11510 execution plan and ran it but it failed.
    The workflow error log says the following:

  • Dashboard question and my app store icon disappeared...

    I was looking at the dashboard widgets to download and I found a game to download. Once I downloaded it and opened up my dashboard, all I see is the game. All my other icons are behind the game and I can't see them. I don't know how to make the game screen smaller like the other icons or even delete it.
    I am very new to owning my first Mac, so I put in the Mac OS Install DVD and after it finished downloading, my app store icon disappeared. There is a question mark in the place that was my app store icon. How do I fix that?

    Did you reinstall the software from the dvd? It sound like you are now running an os that is under 10.6.6.
    Click on the apple icon in the menu bar and select "about this mac"
    That will show you the os version you are running now. You need to have 10.6.6 and above to have the app store installed.
    In this case all you have to do is run a software update and download the lattest os update which should be 10.6.8.

  • Siebel screens pointing to analytics dashboards

    Siebel has screens like Service Analyitcs, Marketing Analytics that will navigate the user directly from Siebel to the corresponding dashboard in Analytics or OBI Applications like is called today.
    These screens are configured in a very specific way in order to integrate and be transparent to the user that you are jumping from one application (Siebel) to another (OBI Applications).
    Pls. does anybody knows any document that can give a step by step or at least the concepts behind this integration ? The idea is to build other landing pages (OBI dashboards) for Siebel users.

  • OIC Analytics setup question.

    We are implementing OIC Analytics and have some architectural question and would appreciate if someone can answer. So far here is what we have done.
    1) We are going to have OIC Datamart in separate DB so have created master/work repositories & target tables there.
    2) Installed ODI studio and imported all the scenarios ( Oracle hasn't provided the interface/models so can't dig into details of process)
    3) Established a DB link from OIC-datamart to OIC-EBS.
    Now thing which is not clear to me is staging table cn_s_quota_fact_source and how it gets populated. Oracle has given the script and in description have asked to create in EBS APPS Schema.
    1 ) But what if I want to create this table in target server. Can I do it and what scenario populate it ?
    2) Oracle document E16110-02 says run "Incentive Compensation Analytics – ODI concurrent program" which will push transactional data to datamart. but what if I want to PULL instead of Push. Is it possible , if yes then how ?
    I have gone through document Oracle Incentive Compensation Analytics for Oracle Data Integrator User and Implementation Guide(Part Number E16110-02) but it doesn't answer all the question. I am looking for someone who has real time experience implementing OIC for ODI.
    Please share your experience.

    Hello,
    I've been unable to find an answer to these two questions within the documentation or through experimentation, so I have to turn to the community for help:
    1) Is it possible to dynamically pass parameters to Embedded Content or Link objects? I need to fetch an image from a Web server according to the dashboard's content, is it possible to pass parameters to the URL?
    2) Is it possible to include a Java applet on a dashboard?

  • Errors in Analytics Dashboards (Peoplesoft and SQL Server)

    We are facing a problem implementing BI APPs 7.9.6.3 for Peoplesoft Fin 9.1 (and using MS SQL Server 2008).
    We loaded the Warehouse without problems but when We try to see the reports in FIN and Procurement & Spend Dashboards we get the following errors in several reports:

    Try with this
    Go to the advanced tab and select the ‘Issue an explicit distinct’ checkbox.
    Run the report if it works then uncheck the checkbox for EXPRESSIONS_IN_ORDERBY_SUPPORTED in the features tab of the database properties in the physical layer.

    Hi All,
    I had created a simple sales dashboard which has three tabs. Tab1 has Sales by Country report, Tab2 has Sales by State report and Tab3 has Sales by City report. I had defined drill navaigatio on it. If user click any country from Sales by Country report then Sales by State report open if user click any state then Sales by City report open. It is working fine. But user want if they click any country from the Sales by Country report which is Tab1, Tab2 report supposed be open,if they click any state from the Sales by State report which is in Tab2 then Tab3 report supposed to be report. Basically they want to navigate by tabs. Is it possible?

    You want to constrain vvalues in dashboard prompt...so make state and city as constraintd in prompt so that it filters accordingly.
    Edit your prompt and check "Constrain" Checkbox which is below "Allchoices" checkbox option.
    Note: If you make country as constrain and when you are selecting state as a first value in your selection or whenever you select a state without selecting a country then country get constrained.

  • OBIA 7963 - HR Analytics - Customization Question

    **Issue Description:** : OOTB Headcount calculations should exclude group of people who are called as non executive directors (NED). There are no indicators/ Flag in the source system to identify who is NED in a particular point in time. There are some CSV files (Outside source system) with the list of employee who they identified as NED between two dates
    Proposed Solution:
    I am planning to use this CSV as lookup file for the incoming source data and stamp employee records with NED_IND (Y/N or 1/0) between two dates, however I have following questions
    1.     Should we stamp this NED_IND flag in Employee dimension (W_EMPLOYEE_D) which is designed as Type 2 SCD OOTB or
    2.     Should we stamp this in workforce fact table (W_WRKFC_EVT_MONTH_F) as a NED_IND indicator flag (1 or 0), so that this flag will be available as part of snapshot calculations
    Considering the fact that OOTB Workforce fact process is reasonably complicated with series of mappings both in Full and Incremental load, would you suggest any of above mentioned solutions or any better solution so that we can reduce unnecessary customization of OOTB ETL and preserve existing logic?

    A few things to consider:
    1. If you are trying to alter the actual "Headcount" metric, then you need to edit the FACT tables. This includes the EVENT as well as the MONTHLY snapshot. You may also need to modify the logic of the "ACTIVE/INACTIVE" flag...as this is what is used to calculate the headcounts. Essentially, edit the SDE to bring in the NED FLAG, and then modify the logic for how OOTB "ACTIVE/INACTIVE" is calculated.
    2. If you are running reports that use EMPLOYEE DImension, and you want to also see if the Employee is NED or NOT NED, then yes, you should also add this to the Employee Dim. Also, suppose that an employee can BECOME NED...if you need to capture this history, then you need to add the SCD logic. Also, if an existing employee can become NED..you may have to alter the incremental logic to modify both the DIM and the FACT.
    What may be simpler is just to modify the SDE mapplet to use the LOOKUP for NED..and flag those as INACTIVE in the SDE itself...in which case you do not have to modify the downstream ETLs.

  • SAP ERP EHP 5 - Activating Embeded Analytics (dashboards)

    We (the basis team+BI team) have been trying to activate the dashboards that apparently come embedded in SAP ERP EHP 5.  To test the functionality, we were hoping to demo the Cash Management Dashboards.  Unfortunately non of the Dashboards are even listed on the NWBC (role cash management) after activation.  We have activated the Reporting Financials 3 and 2. And have activated the Dashboard in RSOR in our ERP system. We also ran the BI Content Activation (workbench). We have replicated all Source Systems.
    We feel we are maybe missing something. Could someone please share some light with regards to the following understanding:
    1. We only need the ERP EHP 5 ABAP system (with BI content and BI Content Extension)
    2. No Portal or any java instances (with BI Java Components) is required
    3. A simple role (which one) should be enough to show the dashboards
    4. We are using Scenario 2 for dashboards (i..e we are not planning to create our own therefore do not need Xcelsius Designer)

    For those struggling with the same, here's what I've found (and got to work) so far:
    1. BI Java is required (install the latest) .  So does the portal for Runtime environment for your dashboards
    2. Define the BI (Abap AS) system on the portal 
    3. Run the BI Daignostic/service Desk tool to resolve any issues (e.g. Flash error - unable to access external data) Specifically the URL:
    http://<Host name >:<port numebr>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.ip.bi.supportdesk.default
    4. Take a look at this document (regarding setting up BEX WEB configuration)

    5. Create a Role to access the reports from NWBC (transaction PFCG)

    Hi there,
    I'm project managing a SharePoint implementation and, although I know the basics of SharePoint's capabilities, I'm now diving into more complex requirements related to workflows and dashboards.  
    Context:  We're working to consolidate our metrics (both quant and qual) from all business units on a quarterly basis.  Some of the metrics are consistent across BUs, others are unique to particular units.    
    Approach:  I'm thinking we want to create either one form or multiple forms where units can add their baseline goals and progress.  After the data is entered, I want it to aggregate into an excel spreadsheet(s) so we can analyze it and ultimately
    create different dashboards and graphs to visually represent the units' progress.
    I imagine this is possible, but is this the best approach?  What apps are the best to use?

    Application info- is this tracking the total amount of downloads of the actual application via itunes, or folio downloads? If folio downloads, what is the difference between the applicatoin info. and folio info.?
    - First time launch is just that, first time launch of_____?
    - Launches is total launches for ____?
    Are hyperlinks, videos, etc. tracked uniquely or duplicates based on total amount of foilo and/or applicaiton metrics?
    If a folio is no longer published, but a consumer has this still on their phone- are you tracking their actions, views still in metrics, or does it stop?
    Is there an 800 for help on these topics?

    Here are the responses:
    1) iTunes can track app downloads. Once the app is downloaded, installed and launched for the first time, that is when DPS can track app first launch and startups. If readers download the app and never launch it, then you will find discrepancies between app download number from App Store and app first time launch number from DPS
    2) after the consumer downloads the app from App Store, and launches it for the first time then this triggers DPS's "app first time launch" event.
    3) this question is not clear. But here is some more info that could help. For folios that are not available for download, but if the folio has been previously downloaded - then as long as readers are reading the folio all folio related events will be tracked in DPS.
