Capturing costs of docks.

Hi Sappers!
We maintain docks as part of our business and such there are various expenses associated with docks.
Now we have a GL account to capture these expenses. Is there a way to assign these expenses to "Dock" in SAP. Can we create cost centers for docks and use that as an assignment?
Thanks for your time!
Edit: We will not be implementing warehouse management so docks won't be defined in the system.

The basis for creating a cost center can be anything...
It can be a department , a functional location , a plant or any other place where cost is bound to arise.
The cost center is determined by its category.
I am not sure of your business process but i have a feeling probably the docks can be treated as a cost center.

  • Cost Accounting For SaaS - How To Capture Costs?

For a SaaS (software as a service) company, is it advisable to set standard costs to capture cost of sales? I am considering calculating actual cost per unit sold and using this as basis for standard costing. Anyone have experience in this? Thanks!

    Hi Pardha,
    Thanks for your reply,
Here i'm already capturing "Estimated cost" in CAUFVD-USER4 attribute, but i need to capture Planned cost and Actual Cost data in Run time(Live Stream) as i need to capture these data before saving into Database.
Example: While we creating Work Order with IW31, Estimated Cost will be available in above Attribute (USER4), but for Actual and Planned Cost i don't have any attribute associated with CAUFVD structure, these 2 Cost data i need to find with the help of any of the BADI or Customer Exit Or User Exit.
Kindly provide any of the Exit Point where we can capture above data before saving into Database.
    Thanks,
    Naresh.

  • Material Documents did not capture cost centre

    Hi,
There are some PGI / Material documents did not capture cost center. These vehicles are missing cost center in the PGI/Material  document and i am unable to figure out why is it happening.
Can u please help me understand why the cost centre is missing ?
    Would you clarify that issue.
    Thanks and best regards,
    pragya

if your material GL account (P&L) account are created as cost elements, you cannot post any document with out cost object. If you GR is through production order, need not assign any cost center, as production order itself is cost object. For other cost elements you can assign cost center in OKB9.

  • Capturing Cost in Invoice

    Dear Gurus,
We have a process where we do Order - Invoice & Delivery, there is a delay in delivery and Invoice is being raised, we want to capture the cost of the invoice in to some temporary account for time being to the know what is the cost as of today, then later reverse when actual delivery is done, can any one suggest me how to configure system for this kind.
    Regards,
    Chinna

The better option is that you first create a proforma and later a commercial invoice.  Of course, you can very well capture the cost from KONV and I am sure, you know how to link VBRP and KONV tables.  Needless to say, first you need to link VBRK with KONV where "Doc.condition" field is the link between these tables and from there you can track the proforma references.  With this proforma references, if you pass it on KONV table, you can capture cost.

    COST PLANNING----
    Hi,
    I used the standard ones
    Planning profile Group--4MKT
    Profile--4CRMMP03,
    Plan Type--Cost planning
    Planning Area--4CRM0001(Marketing Budgeting/Cost Planning)
This is assigned to the category CP in the define planning profile groups node in IMG.
Im able to view this in WEB UI 2007, however when i choose DIST, im not getting anything.
Im basically looking at a field in the MKT Planner where i can key in my planned costs, resources and then i would like these values to be sent to ECC and BI will extract them and provide reporting.
Is this a standard functionality or should i necessarily use a EEWB field, if so how?
Just incase you have any document which relates to this solution, please send it to

Points will be rewarded for a decent solution.

  • Capture cost of procured materials in a third party sales order scenario

    Dear Experts,
I'm developing a third party sales order solution to my company following the recommended third party scenario by SAP.
Everything is working fine from creation of sales order, automatic creation of purchase requisition, create purchase order using the purchase requisition ect...
The problem I have is the in the Sales order, the cost of the material is not getting captured correctly. The condition maintained in the sales order is VPRS and it is deriving the material cost from the material master record. Ideally it should be deriving the material cost from the invoiced value or else from the purchase order(which is the actual amount we are spending to buy the items). Deriving the cost from material master depicts an incorrect profit in the sales order.
Can someone please advice me how to derive the cost(to be shown in the sales order under VPRS condition)from the invoice or the purchase requisition and Not from the material master.
I'll be grateful if you can describe in a step by step proceedure.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Lakshmipathi
    Thanks alot for your response.
As u mentioned, at the point of sales order creation the price does gets picked up from the Material Master.
But during Billing, it does NOT get updated to reflect the purchase order price. If that happens, then its perfect.
I did a complete testing cycle and the material master price remains unchanged throught the process upto billing.
Is there any special parameter that I should maintain in VPRS condition for this to happen?
Anyway thanks again for ur reply, appreciate it alot. Let me know your views on this.
As u advise I'll post it on the sales forum as well.
    Regards,
    Randika

  • Reg: Need to capture cost / energy consumption in process order

    Dear Friends,
I need your valuable advices for one of the following
I have a scenario where for one of the process , we are generating Energy(heat) in in-house b y burning coal.
We are manufacturing steel Pellets , and it is continuous process at the end of the process these steel pellets are heated upto 1200DegC in furnace,
and for this we are generating energy in in-house by burning Coal on the other side. Now i need to capture this energy cost in my process order. And also i need to have shift wise energy consumption report.
So let me know how can i achieve this..?
Can we achieve by defining is as an extra activity type..? if yes , please let me know how and also necesary formula to achieve this.

    1. Define New Std Value in your std value key. Say E0001
    2. Now Ask Costing person to Create New Activity Type say ENG01
    3. Now Decide how you want to calculate your Energy consumption will it based on you Order qty or It will based on the Machine run time.
4 Now give the std values in Routing as per Operation qty or Machine Run time
    5. If is is based on Based on Operation Qty The formula will be
ENG01 = (Order Qty x Std Value of Energy)/ Operational Qty.
    6. If it is Based on Machine run say 24 hr will burn 1000 joule
    Then formula will be =
Machine run x Std value of Energy as in Routing.
Take help of your Costing guy to arrive at the Formula.

  • Capture costs and revenues - WIP

In CO module, we have a issue: manage all costs of sale project (Zeetech)
For example: The customer has a building, then Zee will install the electric system, air condition systemu2026. The requirement of Zee that: they want to control both revenue and cost for each sale project.
In SD module: they will create a sale order for a sale project. But in sale order, we only see the revenue.
The cost account  include:  main material cost account, auxiliary material cost account, labor cost account, overhead cost account
At the end of the period (monthly): we have 2 case
    ·         Case 1: The sale project finished: all cost account will be transferred to COGS account
    ·         Case 2: The sale project havenu2019t finished: a part of cost will be transferred to COGS, a part of cost will be transferred to work in process. In the next period, if  the sale project finished, we will transfer WIP to COGS
We test the solution that use internal Order: all cost will be captured to IO. we can set the settlement rule in IO: settle from IO to SO, so in SO we can see both revenue and cost (COGS). But the COGS account and WIP account which we settle is secondary cost. So, after settling the accountant have to post transaction manually in FI module. This solution is OK in case 1. But in case 2 : we have a problem: settle cost to WIP, if in the period we have many sale project havenu2019t finished, we only use one WIP account. In the next period, have some project finished we donu2019t know which cost of which sale project need to be settled from WIP account to COGS account.
So, if you have an other solution, please reply in the forum

You can meet this requirement thru configuration of Results Analysis Key.
Design the suitable RA key and assign RA key in Sales order master data.
At period end , You have to run Tcode KKA3 - Results Analysis / WIP , for all Sales orders which are still open.

  • Capturing cost of external & internal services

    Hello
Can I be guided regarding configuration for cost capturing for external & internal services. Is this same as we are doing for break down orders by maintaining cost variants and valuation variants. Please advise.
    Thanks

In case of External Service, PM03 control key will be used. In that configuration, service check box would have been selected. Further to that, service masters for the services will be created. Those services will be assigned in Maintenance order.
In turn, PR will be created for those services with reference to Maintenance order, further PO will be created.
While creating Service entry sheet for the above PO, cost will be posted to Maintenance Order as PO & Service entry sheet are linked to Maintenance order.
In case of internal services, Activity types will be created & will be assigned to labor work center. In KP26, activity pricing will be maintained. Based on planned hours in maintenance order & actual hours in confirmation, planned cost & actual cost will be calculated.
As you know, costing variant will be defined for Internal & external processing, cost will be calculated based on that.
Also these costing variants should be assigned to Plant & order type combination.

  • Capture cost

In a stock transport order, if we are sending the stock to one plant to a sales depot, if we have to capture cot incurred for transporting the stock and to be added to the base pricea at the sales depo
how do we do this, can somebody help for this configuration???
Edited by: varada rajan on Jan 18, 2008 2:52 PM

    Hi
If there is any unplanned delivery costs (for delivery vendor), then while posting invoice, choose the option delivery costs and enter the amount in unplanned delivery costs so that it will be distributed to the line item. I dont find any reason for not posting subsequent credit/debit for unplanned delivery costs once it is already paid to delivery vendor. Because once delivery vendor is paid and if you have to pay some excess amount, then either you need to reverse the invoice and post new one with corrected amount or use the subsequent function.
    Thanks

  • Standard SAP Cost Report which captures costs incurred for replacementgoods

    Hi Friends,
We want to track the costs related to the Replacement of goods sold free of charge and under warranty shipped to our customers. We are currently using the field "Usage" on the item level of the sales order. The item category  created within the Sales Order is either ZST0 or ZMO0.
Unfortunately, I can't find any report in which the field "Usage" would be presented along the costs related to the item. The report I'm looking for would be used to evaluate, on a given period of time (ex. Fiscal Year or a month), the total costs associated to the replacement units by sales order item.
    1) An existing report (which I have not found) exists, please let me know which one
    2) There is another way to track such costs within SAP.
Please let me know if there is a standard report which tracks costs related to replacement goods.

    Hi,
I got the required from MBEWH table.

  • GI document has not captured costing

    Hi All,
I am currently involved in small project implementation and this is related to variant configuration through intercompany process.I have a SO (equipment) MTO scenario and a PO is created with ref to SO (for which costing is done).
For PO, O/B delivery is created and Gi is done, When checked the Gi document there seems to be no cost calculated.(Zero)
could any one of you tell me why zero is there isn cost and did I missed any thing?

    Hi
if you see the condition type configuration of VPRS in t code V/06
if the condition exist in SO then automaticall y cost will be updated at the time of delivery and in turn in the billing it will show and update in the copa also.
