Changing MARA-ERNAM and MARA-AENAM during Material create

Hi All,
         We have a critical requirement to change the MARA-ERNAM and MARA-AENAM during the creation of the material.
          We are using the BAPI 'BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA' to create a material from an Inbound IDOC.When we execute the above BAPI, the material is created with sy-uname in MARA-ERNAM and MARA-AENAM field and our requirement is to update our desired usernames.
       Please provide your valuable suggestions.

and why don't you execute that BAPI with another UserID? or schedule it as a job, attaching the userid of the special batch-user you have in your company to the job-step?

I do not know. Do you notice duplicates? This should not happen.
This is a good reference to start troubleshooting if it starts to not respond any longer.

You can try to launch the browser in safe mode by clicking control + shift to see if the file doubles in size again.
Something else that you have installed isn't causing or contributing to that fault.

Filling of mara-volum and -voleh within BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA

I like to update mara-volum and mara-voleh by using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA, but these fields are not available in structure BAPI_MARA, only in structure BAPI_MARM.
Please let me know how to solve this problem.

I put the relevant data into UNITSOFMEASURE (alt_unit, volume and volumeunit: structure BAPI-MARM) and also into UNITSOFMEASUREX (structure: BAPI-MARMX), but the result after calling BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA is negative: no update(s) in tables MARA and MARM (no errors in return) !!!
Do you have any idea what I did wrong .....

Change the size and style of the menu

How can I change the size and font on the automatically created menu in iWeb?
I cannot select it like other text on the site..

The words under pictures on the photo pages are also part of the template. What you see is the default.
But you can change this. You can change the font, font size and font color. Just hightlight it by dragging the cursor over it and select font to change the font and size. And you can use the color wheel to change the color

Edit: if you choose a large font you may have to adjust the space between the pictures. This can be done in the inspector. Just play with it to see what works.

Equivalent tables for MARA, MAKT and MCH1 in the EWM system

Hi,
I would like to construct a report using the existing tables in EWM. But it turns out that it's somewhat different from the ECC system.
The material tables, MARA and MAKT and the batch table, MCH1 table are not there. I need the material number( like MARA-MATNR), material description/name(MAKT-MAKTX), the division ( MARA-SPART) and the batch number(MCH1-CHARG) and expiration date(MCH1-VFDAT).
Could someone provide the EWM equivalent for these tables and fields?

Relation between Mara, CAWN and CABN table.

Can anyone tell how to find Character value and Characteristic Name from Material master record.
I need to generate a report, in the input I will give Material Name and output should be Character_Name and Character value.
How material master(MARA) is linked to CAWN and CABN table?

The first field in AUSP is Object. In this case, the Object is the material number from mara. You have to have the leading zeroes. So if your material number is 12345678, then you have to use 000000000012345678 as the Object in AUSP. From their you should be able to figure out the links to the other tables.
CABN is just the characteristics available in your system. CAWN is just the values for each characteristic in CABN. You can't link to these tables from the material master.

Difference between MARS LMS and IPS

I am trying to understand the difference between MARS, LMS and IPS and why you would use one over the other.

MARS is an appliance that aggregates/deduplicates syslog and netflow data from routers,switches,firewalls, and IPS sensors. In addition to Cisco devices it also supports things like Checkpoint Firewalls, Snort IPS, etc.
LMS (Ciscoworks LMS) is primarily a device configuration and IOS management platform that runs on your own Windows server (not sure if Unix is still supported.) We use it to maintain the configs of hundreds of Cisco routers and switches, easily push out config changes to said devices, and mass-deploy IOS upgrades.
IPS is sort of like anti-virus "on the wire" - it runs on dedicated IPS sensors, plug-in modules on firewalls or 6500's, and on routers via IOS IPS. Events can be forwarded to MARS for correlation, etc.
You didn't ask, but CSM (Cisco Security Manager) is the more appropriate tool for mass-configuration and 'group policy' for firewalls and IPS sensors.
Each product solves a particular problem; you wouldn't choose one over the other since they all work together to provide a cohesive solution. The specifics of your environment (particularly the number and type of devices) would dictate your choices here.

Changing an asset during material post.

Hi i have a such task:
MIGO, operation Good issue. I need to change asset card in time of posting material.
I find a badi mb_migo_badi, method post_document and try to change asset here by using BAPI_FIXEDASSET_CHANGE.
but after my changes SAP changes an asset itself and my changes are canceled.
Have anybody a good idea about this?

Hi, Erwan. Yes, I use BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT, and see my changes are exist in ANLA but then SAP finished its work and my changes are canceled.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

LSMW and MARA-MBRSH

I made a mistake and opened material MATNR with MBRSH value with '1'. I want to change this value to 'F' using LSMW with IDOC,BAPI,,. IT does not work. Why?

Unfortunately, I believe the only way that you will be able to change this is to first flag the material for deletion, then archive the material. Then you can re-create the material with the new industry sector. I do think that SAP will allow you to change this once the material is created.

I have recently started having this problem in PSE8. The Adobe workaround
did work, but I don't fancy having to re register each time I use it.
What I have discovered is that it's nothing to do with the image metadata as it occurs before any image is opened.
It SEEMS to only occur if you use file/open with to open an image in the editor - IE start PSE with that command.
If you close elements down, and start it using programs/PSE/Elements (or your desktop shortcut) - the panorama feature magically works.
Each time I've opened the editor 'automatically' using image/open with, it seems to create the problem.

NBAR, Netflow, QoS Policing, 6500s, IOS 12.1(26)E7, and MARS

Hello. I'm having trouble seeing the forest OR the trees, and I'd appreciate some help from someone who has a better field view than myself. We're upgrading our internet connection to 200MB and management is wanting to upgrade our Packet Shaper to meet the new bandwidth. (The Packet Shaper shows top talkers, top protocols, and rate limits protocols or users.) I'm trying to make the argument that we can do this w/ existing tools (nbar, netflow, QoS policing, and MARS), at the same time I'm trying to make the argument that we need to have our supervisors (currently SUP2 MSFC2) on a 3-4 year upgrade cycle.
To get to the 12.2 IOS, I'd require a memory or sup upgrade. What I am hoping for is someone who has gone down this road who knows what I'm lacking in 12.1 code, or if in fact I can do it all here.
While it is self-evident to most in IT why we need to regularly upgrade equipment, I'm having difficulty making this argument to management with hard facts. I'm guessing they'd still be running Windows for Workgroups to save money...but that's another story.
My plan is to use Netflow and MARS to track top users and top protocols. It appears that I lose some mgt functionality w/ MARS in conjunction w/ IOS 12.1, but I am currently unclear if I lose any tracking capability. (MARS is new to us and awaiting install.)
Then, I hope to use NBAR to identify all the latest P2P traffic and police it appropriately w/ QoS tools.
Does my thinking sound solid? Will I be able to pull this off w/ 12.1? If not, what do I need that I lack in 12.1?

First of all - you need to be clear that although MARS uses netflow data, it uses it for the purpose of identifying security issues. If you want to use netflow for reporting and/or accounting purposes MARS isn't the tool you need, try one of the following freeware netflow tools:

The freeware ones are generally more difficult to set up but once running are just as good as the commercial ones.
However, this means you need two netflow destinations - one for MARS and one for your netflow tool, and this feature is called "Netflow Multiple Export Destinations" and initially appeared at 12.1(3)T, but it seems to be VERY platform specific - for example, because we only run GD software on our 3660's we had to upgrade to 12.3(20) to get it.
Looking at the Feature Navigator for SUP2/MSFC2 it appears that you need at least 12.2(18)SXF6 to get this feature so that might help your case.
I'd personally keep the PacketShaper for it's reporting capability if nothing else (IOS can do the job, but not as elegantly as the PacketShaper).

Difference in text rendering between PDF and Mars?

I was doing some testing with Mars and stumbled upon what
seemed like suboptimal text rendering. Because it was quite subtle
and I wanted to make sure there was an actual difference, I did a
little comparison between PDF and Mars rendering.

I'm still not sure whether there is an actual difference, but
I still somehow got the impression that the upper example (PDF) is
a little more polished then the lower one (Mars). Are different
rendering paths actually used? Will it remain that way?
My SVG for Mars was very simple:

The PDF was produced with MS Office 2007 and Microsofts Save
as PDF plugin (also at 10pts). The font is Gentium.

The difference *IS* subtle, but you're right -- there does
appear to be a perceptible difference between the two samples.
Without making an in-depth study, it's hard to say whether we
can do anything about this. Even though they're both opened in
Acrobat, the rendering path for a Mars document is *VERY* different
from the path for a PDF document, and many of the events along the
chain are out of the control of those of us writing the Mars
plugin. There are some text-quality issues that I'd like to take
care of in time for our next release, however; perhaps I'll be able
to address this particular issue at the same time.

Proper ASA-SSM-20 IPS and MARS Intergration

I?m trying to understand how to best manage my MARS and ASA-SSM-20 IPS implementation. I?ve been running this solution for about 2 months and have been experimenting with how to manage alert s from the blades to MARS.
The MARS documentation says to configure 2 Event Action Override -Verbose Alerts and Log Pair Packets. However there seems to be a major drawback:
1. The IPS generates alert for signatures that by default have no alert action configured. At first glance this seems ok, but over time I found that many false positives are generated for signatures that would otherwise remain quite.
My question is, how should this be managed? I want verbose alerts and logged pair packets for signatures that produce alerts by default, but if I manually configure this, is there a performance consideration?
