CRM 2013 Outlook client error

Hi
We have a test install of CRM 2013 which is working correctly on the server. Logon via the web is ok.
A user was setup to access through the outlook client in office13 running on a win7 platform which also worked correctly. The same user also has secondary access through the outlook client in office 13 running on a win8.1 platform. This never worked correctly
and would show credential errors.
Recently the win7 platform has also disconnected and shows connection errors.
I have tried the following on the win 7 platform:
1. Uninstall the client and reinstall from scratch - unsuccessful
2. Run through the steps in the built in trouble shooter - unsuccessful
Logon using the same creds via the web on the same machine is ok!
What are the next steps to rectify this problem?
Thanks in advance!

  • App-V CRM 2013 Outlook Client and Office 2013 Click to Run

    Hi,
I'm trying to get going with enbing the CRM 2013 for Outlook client with the VL version of Office Pro Plus 2013.  I have successfully published and use Office App-V package in a test environment.  App-V version 5.0 SP2 is installed on the client
PC (Windows 7 64bit).  SCCM 2012 R2 is used to publish APP-V applications to user groups.
I have sequenced the CRM 2013 Outlook client (offline mode disabled) with UR2 and published it using SCCM as a "Add-on or Plug-in.  I've also created a connection group so that the App-V version of Office 2013 is able to connect to the sequenced
CRM client.  The client installs successfully, but the CRM tab doesn't appear in the Outlook Ribbon, and the Configuration Wizard crashes each time it is launched.  The App-V event log is blank (which I'm taking to be a good sign).  All CRM
client prerequisites have been preinstalled on the target PC.
I'm thinking that the CRM client can't see the Outlook application and therefore crashes and doesn't integrate with the Outlook application.  Problem Signature 09 (from the crash explanation) states "System.NullReference Exception".
I can't seem to find much out there for sequencing the 2013 version of the client.  Has any else managed this yet or have any ideas where I'm going wrong?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hello,
I would use Process Monitor to understand what happens and to see why Outlook isn't seeing the plugin, and why the wizard is crashing

  • Windows 10 and Dynamics CRM 2013 Outlook Client - Identity Foundation missing

How can I install/activate the Identity Foundation in Windows 10.
In Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features the feature is missing.
Dynamics CRM 2013 (and 2011) Outlook Client does need the Identity Foundation:
Error is "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Identity.Model, Version=3.5.0.0 ...
    icomedias Austria - Germany

I've had the same problem with the CRM 2011 Plug-in.. It is not possible to install the Windows Identity Framework onto Windows 10 since it was not included as an option in the "Features" menu.
Also - I found this forum entry discussing that exact problem (with no answer, so far):
Windows Identity Foundation not working with Technical Preview
EDIT: Fixed link. Inside of the linked discussion thread, I see this:
    "From Windows 8.1 Features Screen:
WIF 3.5 has been superseded by WIF classes that are provided as part of .NET 4.5. It is recommended that you use .NET 4.5 for supporting claims-based identity in your applications.
so i guess they removed it completely in Windows TP"

Attachements are stored directly in CRM DB (in Annotation table).
I have also tried fiddler. And it looks response was OK (200). I think its problem with CRM for outlook client.

  • Buttons not working in CRM 2015 Outlook client

I have this strange problem where no user in an organisation (even administrators) can't click the new Account, Contact or Lead buttons in the CRM Outlook client. The button is visible and enabled but nothing happens when clicked. The CRM Activity button
is working. Any suggestions to why this is and what can be done about it? Thank you.

  • Dynamic CRM connect outlook Client with different domain

    Hi Guys,
I had installed CRM 2011 in cloud with different domain.
If I use browser is working fine just that when i use Outlook client it show
15:24:16|  Error| Exception : The request for security token could not be satisfied because authentication failed.    at System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityUtils.ThrowIfNegotiationFault(Message message, EndpointAddress target)
       at System.ServiceModel.Security.SspiNegotiationTokenProvider.GetNextOutgoingMessageBody(Message incomingMessage, SspiNegotiationTokenProviderState sspiState)
I found that is because you must connect to the same domain.
any idea that i can use my Outlook client to connect to CRM 2011 without changing my domain?
    Regards,
    Kim

Yes - I've been scarred with this for many years :(
If it is just CAS 1 that is causing issues, then focus in on that.  The support statement for Win 2008 R2 is that NLB is still a 3rd party component and support may ask for it to be disabled.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/278431
Does CAS1 and CAS2 have the same NICs (firmware as well), driver, teaming software, and teaming config?
I also want to ask what the network team did for configuring the switch ports on the servers?  This will vary from vendor to vendor  - did they do the same config on both?

  • CRM 2011 Outlook Client not showing all columns in Opportunity Views

    Versions:
    CRM: 2011 On-Premise - 5.0.9688.1533
    Outlook: 2010 Professional - 14.0.6122.5000 32bit
    CRM Client for Outlook: 5.0.9690.1992
    Basic Problem
The Outlook Client views that show up in Opportunities do not have all the columns that are in the view.
Some of the views do, but not all of them.
    Example:
    View Name: Won Opportunities
Columns in view: Created on, Location, Quote Type, Scope of Work, Quote Number, Booked Sale Date.....8 other
    columns (many custom columns)
Columns in View in Outlook: Icon, Quote Number, Categories, Flag....thats all.
    Other Notes
This only happens in the Opportunity section of the Outlook Client.
This does not happen in advanced find in Outlook or anywhere in the web client. This does not happen for any other entity.
This happens on all of our users Outlook clients.
I have tried recreating the view.
No error messages are recording in any logs that I can find.
Any ideas on why this is happening or how to fix it?
    Thank you
    Paul

    1. Are you sure this is a System View and not a User Defined View? Can you take a screenshot of all the availalbe Outlook views when you click on the little down arrow to add a new view? Yes.  See the screen shot at the bottom.  It is a public
    view.
    2. What happens when you close the view and add it back?  same results.
    3. What happens when you restart Outlook? I ask because if you customized your System Views, those are only persistent for a given session. If your restart Outlook, then it should reset the View.  we have tried that.  and uninstalled Outlook client
and reinstalled.  And uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled.  Same results.  The only view that works for opportunities is the Default Custom View.  The strange thing is that the filters are working just fine. just not the columns.
    4. A workaround - have you tried creating a new System View similar to the one you want? Yes.  same results

    How is it going? :)
I am going against on-prem. Not being prompted for credentials. I can go to the services using the browser, but the outlook client fails.
I am using the same credentials on the local machine as the CRM user credentials.

  • Whole number field formatted as timezone in CRM 2013 SP1UR1 gives error on saving

More info, the error occurs on pipeline stage 30 of the Book or Reschedule message and the same thing happens in CRM 2015. I've started a thread on connect with URL
    https://connect.microsoft.com/dynamicssuggestions/feedback/details/1128206/crm-2013-sp1ur1-cant-handle-the-timezone-field
This must be rather new because I've tried it in CRM 2011 UR late and it did not occur there, I haven't tried CRM 2013 RTM though so I can't say if it's a CRM 2013 or a CRM 2013 SP1UR1 issue.
BTW, the 2015 org was a complete vanilla so I've pretty much ruled out custom code as a culprit :)

  • Exchange 2013 Outlook Client connectivity

I'm migrating from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 and on the final stages. I pointed the external and internal DNS records to Exchange 2013. I moved one mailbox to Exchange 2013 and then tried to create a new Outlook client profile and bring the mailbox
up however the client would not connect. It stated trying to connect encrypted and unencrypted. It did not work. I checked nslookup and the IPs are all set pointing to Exchange 2013. I then checked my certificates. I have a certificate that is a wild card.
When I checked assigned services on my wild card it had IIS and SMTP assigned. Also in IIS on the default site bindings what should you use as a certificate on the two https settings? Originally they were the local generated certificate. I changed them to
the wild card no luck. Please assist.

Try running through this and see if it gives you some ideas on what is wrong:

  • Exhcange 2010 to 2013 Outlook client still looking at the old CAS

    Hello,
    Exchange 2010 SP3 and Exchange 2013 Version 15.0 (Build 913.22) Living in Co-Existence mode.
When I move a test mail box from 2010 to 2013 the outlook client continues to look for the old CAS server. IT appear recycling Exchange Application pools and/or a forced AD replication solves the issue. repadmin /syncall. I would like to have this resolved.
I have thousands of mailboxes and recycling or replicating after each mailbox is moved is not acceptable. I see multiple posts on these forums that talk about the issue but none with a solid solution. Can any one point me in the right direction?

If I move a mailbox and delete the old outlook profile and recreate it, yes it will connect with the 2013 CAS server 9 out of 10 times. But randomly the outlook client when closed and restarted will try connecting back to the 2010 CAS server, when this happens
the users gets prompted for their credentials. I have had a ticket open with Microsoft for 4 days now. Spent about 6 hours on remote sessions. I have performed dozens of exchange migrations, 2003-2007-2007-2010, this is my first 2010-2013, I have no way
    to explain this behavior.
Recreating profiles is not a legitimate fix, I have thousands of mailboxes, it just isn't feasible. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for the reply DareDevil57!
All of my DNS/SRV/autodiscover records public and private point to the new 2013 CAS server.
All remote connectivity test are green.
    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/
This article describes my scenario exactly however no real solution is offered. Only manual fixes. Give the size of this environment it will not work.

  • CRM 2011 outlook client with Outlook 2013

    Hello,
I have a user that keeps getting a message saying "This operation is not supported until the entire message is downloaded.  Download the message and try again"  This happens when he tries to attach a document in SharePoint through mail merge.
I have tried the rollup updates, uninstall/reinstall and gave him a reloaded Surface Pro running 8.1 but the problem persists sporadically.

The error meas that you currently only have downloaded the message header. Check your send/receive settings to make sure you always directly download full items.
Send/Recieve > Send/Receive Groups > Define Send/Receive Groups > select the certain group name and click "Edit" > check the "download complete item" options is setting ok
If so, wait for the message to be downloaded completely and then retry that.

  • Cannot view SharePoint Online documents through CRM Online Outlook Connector - iframe error

We are integrating CRM 2013 Online with SharePoint 2013 Online. We have installed the CRM List Component solution. We have also modified the SharePoint master page to permit display of SharePoint content in iframes. We can view SharePoint documents within
CRM using Internet Explorer after setting the Documents link for an opportunity to point to a document set in SharePoint. However we cannot view documents through the CRM Outlook Connector. We receive the error that "This content cannot be displayed in
    a frame".
We have tried adding *.sharepoint.com, *.dynamics.com, and *.microsoftonline.com to IE's Trusted Zone with no effect.
The application launched by the Outlook Connector is called Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.WebFormsHost and it's my understanding that it uses the IE engine to render online content.
Is there anyway to view SharePoint content embdedded in CRM via an iframe with the Outlook Connector?

I have the same problem here.
The integration works fine outside of Outlook, but if, for example, an account is opened within CRM for Outlook the error occurs.
    - No masterpage modification
    - Some security setting in IE 11 (perhaps IE 11 is the problem)
    - Installed the solution in the used site collection
    - Configured CRM settings

  • CRM 2013 Client for outlook cannot connect to CRM 2013 instance

Hoping this is the right forum couldnt see any specifically related to CRM
Ok we have recently setup an On-premise installation of Dynamics CRM 2013 and running the client on Outlook 2013 with Exchange 2010.
The CRM installation has had update rollup 1 applied to the server and outlook client
We have and IFD and ADFS deployment setup (*we require ADFS for a sister company as they will be utilising CRM also)
When we try to connect the outlook client we just keep getting prompted for credentials and it never connects.
In the log the following entries appear
12:17:08|  Error| Error connecting to URL: https://internal.crm.timg.com/XRMServices/2011/Discovery.svc Exception: Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Authentication failed

at Microsoft.Crm.Application.Outlook.Config.DeploymentsInfo.InternalLoadOrganizations(OrganizationDetailCollection orgs, AuthUIMode uiMode, Form parentWindow)
This occurs when setting up the configuration with either outlook opened or closed.
I was assuming somewhere along the lines it is getting hung up with the claims process for ADFS on authentication.
Any information on this would be appreciated. CRM logins work fine for users logging into the main CRM site, just the outlook client wont authenticate.

Did you ever have luck fixing this? I'm having a similar issue with the login box prompting but if the users put in
[email protected] & normal password they can login without issues. But it should just be using their normal Windows credentials without a need to separately authenticate.  We happen to be on Windows 2012 R2, ADFS
3.0 with our CRM 2013 install.

But it works on other environment
On the other hand, I've tested it on my computer (Win 7 x64 as well) and it succeeded. For both computers, I use Outlook 2010, and every system hadn't any trace of CRM for Outlook before.
Note : I only wrote the
Warning events, not the information tagged events. I searched for this problem across the Web; unfortunatly nobody seems to have reported this specific issue.
Note 2 : If you need any complementary information, I'll be glad to provide it.
So I am asking, where can be the matter ? Thanks in advance for any help !

    Hi,
Try to perform a clean boot then install the CRM 2013 for Microsoft Office Outlook.
    To perform a clean boot:
Log on to the computer by using an account that has administrator rights.
Click Start, type msconfig.exe in the Start Search box, and then press Enter to start the System Configuration utility.
Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, you should type the password or provide confirmation.

On the General tab, click the Selective startup
option, and then click to clear the Load startup items check box.  (The
Use Original Boot.ini check box is unavailable.)
    Collapse this imageExpand this image
On the Services tab, click to select the Hide all Microsoft services check box, and then click
    Disable all.

Note This step lets Microsoft services continue to run. These services include Networking, Plug and Play, Event Logging, Error Reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you may permanently delete all restore points. Do not
do this if you want to use the System Restore utility together with existing restore points.
Click OK, and then click Restart.
This way we can eliminate the affect by background programs, install the software to see if the error still occurs.
If the issue persists in clean boot, please collect the Setup log files from this path:
    SystemDrive:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs
Send the logs to our email address for further analysis:

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office
    programs.
