In BDC call the below FM
You can try using KCD_EXCEL_OLE_TO_INT_CONVERT FM.
Add values to internal table
SORT t_cells BY row col.
LOOP AT t_cells INTO wa_cells.
MOVE : wa_cells-col TO l_index.
ASSIGN COMPONENT l_index OF STRUCTURE itab TO <f_value>.
MOVE : wa_cells-value TO <f_value>.
AT END OF row.
APPEND itab
CLEAR itab.
ENDAT.
ENDLOOP.

Facing a Problem while downloading the data from ALV Grid to Excel Sheet

Hi Friends,
Iam facing a problem while downloading the data from ALV Grid to excel sheet. This is working fine in Development server , when comes to Quality and Production servers I have this trouble.
   I have nearly 11 fields in ALV Grid and out of which one is PO number of length 10 , all the ten numbers are visible in the excel sheet if we download it from development server but when we download it from Quality or Production it is showing only 9 numbers.
Can any one help me out in this case.

if this problems happens dont display the same internal as u finally got.
just create new internal table without calling any standard data elements and domains... but the new internal table s similar like ur final internal table and move all the values to new int table.
for eg.
ur final internal int table for disp,
     data : begin of itab occur 0,
                    matnr like mara-matnr,
               end of itab.
create new like this,
           data : begin of itab occur 0,
                    matnr(12) type N,
               end of itab.

asktom.oracle.com has an excellent article on writing a PL/SQL procedure that dumps data to an Excel spreadsheet-- search for 'Excel' and it'll come up.
You can also use your favorite connection protocol (ODBC, OLE DB, etc) to connect from Excel to Oracle and pull the data out that way.

Thanks for the reply . if i dont give them essbase write role user cant submit data through smartview or Excel addin. at the same users want to see adhoc reports making connection in smartview through planning, then users can send data.
1. I want users to restrict export dataform to smartview, if they can export dataform to smartview it automatically makes connection using planning and users can pretty much change data.
2. is there any way to restrict users making connection through planning in smartview.
3. when users make smartview connection through essbase, the secuirty works fine and they cant change the data.

For saving the report you can goto System -> List -> Save -> Local File -> Location where you want to save in your presentation server.
You can also give a option in your selection screen to save the file to Presentation server using FM GUI_DOWNLOAD.

I have written a code where the data is stored in the internal table . Now when i run this code in the background i want this internal table data to get downloaded in the excel sheet. The function module GUI_DOWNLAOD is not supported in the background. So is there any other function module that can be used or is there any other way to do this

Hi Aditya,
I would provide you 2 advice:
1. save the file on the application server as text file and the fileds in it separated by TAB,you can download the file whenever you want and open it with excel.
2.generate excel files and send it to the email address whatever you specify in the selection-screen.

Problem when exporting Query from Web template to Excel Sheet.

Im encoutering a problem when im trying to export query output from web template to excel sheet.
A popup windown appears when excel sheet opens which reads.."problem cameup in the following areas during load : Cell Value".The report layout appears to be fine but the totals shows unwanted values starting with * followed by number.
Any valuable inputs, what could be the problem. where can i rectify the same.

Thanks for ur time and response but the option u mentioned did not serve my purpose.
The problem seems to be only with pirticular cells.As mentioned earlier the layout appears properly..all the values are seen..but the end result..totals are disturbed.
eg: If the report shows in template the total value :20,668,554...when exported the values is shown as **668553.88000000600000.
So what could be the problem ? any template setting ? global setting to look at ?

Exporting filterded data from a view to excel

I have a requirement, where i have to export data from a list to excel after applying some filter to it.
Say i filter the view by selecting employee dept="Teaching", now i want to export only the filtered rows to excel.
Is there any way to achieve this.

You can create a view with required filters. Then you can export to excel after switching on to filtered view.Refer following link to create filtered view.

Reading data in a tab in an excel sheet

I would like to read the data in an excel sheet and upload into an internal table for processing. I was able to do it using function module ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE but I am not able to read a particular tab. My excel sheet has tabls like A, B, C and D and I want to read only tab C. But currently, it reads data in tab A.

How to convert an output retrieved from database to an excel sheet?

I am preparing an online JSP based project for our training and placement department.
In this context, I am showing an output into a JTable format to the user for the shortlisted candidates by retrieving this information from my database (MySQL).
Now I need to convert this output into the Excel Sheet so that I can perform various operations over there.
So, what are the things required to perform from my side for implementing the same.

The easiest thing for you to do would be to save it as CSV (Comma Separated Values). In general, your fields would be separated by commas, and any fields that are not numbers would be surrounded with double quotes:
1,"text",...
Dates and times are semi-tricky, but excel is pretty good about accepting "YYYY/MM/DD" and "HH:MI AM" format.
Other than that, you'll be learning the internal structures of Excel or perhaps there is a third-party library that can do this for you...

Please execute T code MM60 or the required T code to get the list of materials and Go to sap menu Bar ->setting->list->save->local to spreedsheet and save it your desk top to create an Excel file.
