DMS Connector for KM - index issues - single sign on

We are at EP 7.0 SPS 14 with an ECC at 5.0.
I had our basis install the BP DMS ConnectorKM 1.0 and then the support pack BPDMSCONN01 9-20000787.sca.
I wound up with two repositories being created one called dms and the other dmsrm.  The dmsrm repository is working fine and we are seeing the expected data.  The problem comes in with searching the dmsrm repository.  We receive logon errors when trying to create the index.  We use single signon.  I found note 686776 referencing problems loging on to ABAP though KM which is my problem exactly (Caused by: com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Name or password is incorrect. Please re-enter)
When I went to index_service to put the ABAP user id we want to use the System drop down does not contain my ABAP system. 
Here are the Potential reasons listed in the error box
The selected principal does not have end-user permissions for the system.
The system's logon method does not require any user mapping data for the system (such as "SAPLogonTicket" for a system that is not the SAP reference system). This is true - do I create another system and not enable logon ticket?
The system's user mapping type is not set correctly or not set at all.
There is no system alias defined for the system.
There is no system landscape registered, for example, the one contained in Enterprise Portal.
Any guidance on how to get my ABAP system to display in this drop down?

1- Everyone group has end user authority

     *User Mapping Type = admin, user
     *Logon Method = SAPLOGONTICKET
System does not show on the mapping tab on the index_service user.
So I started digging to see if I could change the userid used by the index - found that but didn't help in the end....
Changed the userid used by the index via the Global Services>Index Management Services
User management exception: Could not get service user "xxxxxxxxx" - this user is the ID we use on our web dynpro JCO connections. So that didn't help - set it back to "index_service"
Looking at my System definition - it works and has about 10 alias defined.  The User Mapping was already populated  in fact all items you listed were already defined as requested...the only problem is that the system doesn't show up in user mapping (WebEx is the only thing in User Mapping - comparing them nothing really stands out to me other than the systems are based on totally different templates).
Any other fields I should check?

    We have installed Business Pack DMS Connector for KM on our EP.
    I have one new iView; Document Explorer, and also workset, role and so on.
    But when I configured the repository manager, I cannot see the repository folder in the iView or in the KM Content root folder. I get this message from the iView "Document Explorer":

    /dmsrm
    The item you are attempting to access is not available. Check that the name or link is correct. You might also check whether the associated repository is currently accessible. "

    Iam also gettin the same issue while iam trying to search the documents related to DMSRM repository.
    Some documents are getting indexed and some are unable to get indexed. when iam trying to check the
    errors in index monitor it is displaying the error as below.

  • Business Package for DMS Connector for KM

    Hi,
    We have installed the Business Package for DMS Connector for KM 1.0
    after downloading from the SolMan. After the install we wish to
    configure it to point to the proper repository in our R/3 landscape.
    But when we go to System Administration->System Configuration-
    >Knowledge Management ->Content Management ->Repository Managers we do
    not see a repository called DMSRMRepositoryManager. We are stuck
    without this as the iView: Document Explorer is not working.
    Please let us know what is the problem with this.
    We are on
    1) ECC6.0
    2) EP7.0 SPS10
    3) Business Package for DMS Connector for KM 1.0

  • DMS Connector for KM : I see only one document type from the document area

    The DMS connector is installed successfully on KM.
    I can display folder tree and documents but I see only one type of document.
    I mean, when I use transaction OAC0, I see different content repository defined in DMS.
    I wonder where is the setting that specified which content is link to the DMS connector for KM.

    I installed the DMS once, but my experience how to use it is poor.
    In the Backend ( Transaction CV01N i think,) you can store search variants using the prefix you have defined for the DMSRM (default is KM_<theName>). This variants can be used to filter out several documents. There must be a way to give authorizations on them. Maybe you will have to use a security manager, i don't know.. in our case the user persistence (authScheme) was SAP-System an no TREX involved.
    It is not much, but maybe it helps...

    We have deployed "Business Package for DMS Connector for KM (BP DMS CONNECTOR KM 1.0 )" on EP environment.
    The following business Package applied on EP.
    BP for DMS Connector KM 1.0 (BPDMSCONN00_0-20000787.sca)
    We are getting the Role "pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.plm.dmsrmconnectorforkm.dmsconnectorforkm/com.sap.pct.plm.dmsrmconnectorforkm.roles/com.sap.pct.plm.dmsrmconnectorforkm.documentmanager_showcase"
    on the EP. We have added this Document Manager Role to the user and getting the "Document Explorer" tab/Workset on the EP header.
    But we are getting the following error on clicking on this workset

    Our Client has SAP Content Server installed in the landscape, and would like to use SAP Portal (NW 7.3) KM API capabilities for document management (attachements on Custom portal application developed via WebDynpro for Java).
    Inorder to connect to the Content Server to SAP Portal as one of the repository, DMS Connector for KM is used (got to know this via some posts on SDN).
    I am still unclear if KM API can be used document retrieval and save to Content Server direcly and seconldy about the possibility of having correct version of DMS Connector.
    Any inputs on the above two points would be helpful.

  • DMS Connector for KM 1.0 set DMS subfolders as root for DocumentExplorer

    I have three folders under the root folder of DMS Connector:
    Bills
    Tickets
    TechnicalData
    I want an independent document explorer iView for the first two and the third one not being displayed on the EP.
    So I put '/dmsrm/Bills' as root navigation folder and initial navigation folder. If I do this the Document Explorer shows an error saying the selected resource does not exist or is not available. If i set '/dmsrm' folder there is no problem but then I can't separate different subfolders in different iViews.
    How can I make it for the subfolders to be the root folder of Document Explorer?

  • BP DMS Connector for KM 1.0  & ECC 5

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to configure DMS Connector on EP6 SP16
    with ECC 5 as a backend system.
    I imported the BP DMS Connector and created a system in the portal that connects to the ECC 5 system.
    The connection is available and the backend system
    contains DMS repositories and a selection variant
    that displays 1000 documents, but when I enter the
    Document Explorer in the portal I can only see the Dynamic Folder and it is empty.
    When I use an IDES 4.7 system as the backend I can see all the folders and the documents inside.

    We followed the documentation for dms connector and when we clicked on document explorer all i get is a system error

    An exception occurred during the program execution. Below you will find technical information pertaining to this exception that you might want to forward to your system administrator.
    Exception Class:  class com.sap.netweaver.bc.rf.common.exception.IOOperationFailedException
    Exception Message:  Connection Failed: Connection setup failedConnection Failed: Nested Exception. Failed to get connection. Please contact your admin.
    What might have gone wrong ? Could you please advice me on this front ?

    KM 6.0.11.3.0 (NW04 SPS11Patch3)
    to sap R/3 46C
    I'm able to call RFC function (so my connection'd be ok)
    but my DMS folder in km is empty.
    I created also variants KM_... but nothing.
    Anyone can help me to understand where I can check something??

    You can always create a transaction iView:
    For this to work you have to:
    - activate the webgui service in the backend system
    - create a system in the portal that links your PLM system to the portal
    - create a transaction iview that uses the SAP gui for HTML and linkes your system that you have created in the portal to that iView

    I am pretty new in SAP and I am having a reallly defficult time in setting up the user interface to meet my needs.
    The overall problem is just to get the bigger picture on how the layout is "put" together with ressources and collectionrenderings.
    Is there any documentation explaining how overall to fx. set up the layout when using KM content fx. how to enable that you have this indeiidual dropdown menu for every item(folders and files) where you can choose copy, paste, create link and so on??

  • Questions on DMS connector for KM

    Hi,
    I have two questions for this BP:
    I have installed this pachage into my portal 7.0. VariantPrefix is configured with 'KM' in  "System Administration -> System Configuration  ->  Knowledge Management  -> Content Management  -> Repository Managers  ->  DMSRMRepositoryManager ".  and I create standred Variant 'KM_TEST_01' without checking the 'User-specific' box  in cv04n of  ECC6.0.  I test it successful. In Document Explorer of the portal I can see this Variant  'KM_TEST_01'  in the dynamic folder. But I can't see any document under this Variant. I can see documents under personal folder and public folder.
    another questions:
    I can't upload file through "Document Explorer ->Folder->new->Upload", it give me a message " 'XXXXX' does not exist, or file is empty; you cannot upload empty files." but I very sure this file is exist.
    How I can solove the questions?

    If you are sure that the file excist, then there is one thing left and that is to check it's size.
    I just did a check on our system:
    1. I created (on windows) a new txt file, kept it empty and saved it.
    2. I checked the file size and it states: "0 bytes"
    3. Tried to upload it via KM upload funtionality and got the same respons.
    I guess it is some kind of security "feature" that it checks for a contentsize of 0 bytes and if so ignores the upload...(Maybe an SAP employee can confirm this?!)

  • "Business Package for DMS Connector for KM" not available!?

    Hello Group,
    i tried to download and install the above mentioned PLM-Package.
    Unfortunately when i tried to download it from the portal-content-portfolio, after the redirection to the servicemarketplace says "no data available".
    Additionaly the documentation says, the package could be found in the installation files - but i didn't find it there either (DMSRepositoryConnector.par).
    Any ideas? Just an temporary error of some SAP-ITS? Or am i there something to keep in mind?
