Dropping someone else's table

How would I go about dropping a table that belongs to another user? I can see the table in 'all_tables', but have no idea how to drop it. I've got DBA privileges on my account as well.
Up until now I've only been dealing with tables under my own username, so this is new to me.

If the table is not in your schema, then you have to say schema_name.table_name instead of jhust table_name.
For example, if the table is named bar, and the owner of the table is foo:
DROP TABLE foo.bar;To do this, you need the DROP ANY TABLE system privilege. If you're not trying to do this from a strored procedure, then the privilege may be granted to some role that you have. If you are trying to do this from within a stroed procedure, then you may need the privilege granted directly to you.
You usually don't want to grant the DROP ANY TABLE system privilege to many users. An alternative could be to create a stored procedure in the foo schema that drops tables (perhaps only certain designated tables) in the foo schema. Foo could grant EXECUTE priviileges on this procedure to other users, and they would need no special system privileges.

Voicemail notifications in email from someone else's account

Hi, I really like the email notifications when I get a voicemail on my FIOS landline. I really do. But I don't like the email notifications that tell me that someone else, whom I don't know, gets a voicemail. I tried contacting the other person but didn't get any response.
How can I get these email notifications "A new message has arrived in your {edited for privacy} mailbox." stopped coming to me?
I asked customer support in chat and they told me it was my problem to solve, which is why I tried to contact the other person.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

I have someone else's calendar on my iphone. how safe is our info?

I got a replacement iphone after dropping mine...once...
I assumed this was a new phone.But when I looked in the calendar, I found someone else's information, some of which looks confidential.
I have just given the 'genius bar' my old iphone to replace, which although it didn't work properly, obviously has MY confidential info on it too.
Are Apple recycling phones? Do I have a recycled phone?
can I be reassured that my info hasn't been passed on to someone else?

It wasn't required to activate your replacement iPhone with O2 thru iTunes before being able to use it, followed by an iTunes sync process, or a Restore process to restore your replacement iPhone with your previous iPhone's backup - restoring the settings from your previous iPhone followed by a sync?
The iPhone includes an Erase All Content and Settings option, which you should have used before turning over your iPhone for the exchange.
Per the warranty, an exchange under warranty can be a new or refurbished iPhone. A refurbished iPhone should have the current firmware version installed with no other data - the same as a new iPhone.

FIles from iPod to Someone else's Mac in disk mode???????????

Hi there all,
I've got a couple of gigs worth of files, i need to put them on my iPod and transfer them to someone else's Powerbook, There Photoshop files, and mine, so nothing illegal about this! My iPod has got Disk mode selected in iTunes, so if i connect it to the other mac, will i just be able to get the file's of the iPod and drop them on the other Mac's desktop, or will it open iTunes and wipe all my Music, Pics and Movies off my iPod and pair it up with the Mac?

Pretty much. When you cable the iPod to your friend's computer, it should mount on the desktop and allow you to use it as an external hard drive.

It may open up iTunes, but it certainly won't do anything to your iPod unless you tell it to. You will most likely get a dialog box indicating that your iPodis linked to another iTunes library and it will ask you if you want to replace the contents of your iPod with your friend's library. Make sure you answer NO to this question!

Verizon gave my landline phone number to someone else and now can't fix the problem FOR ME

I have a landline that is used for emergencies only in case my 7 year old son needs to be transported to the hospital for his seizures. I tried using the phone about 3 weeks ago during some bad weather only to find out there was no dial tone. Luckily, my cell phone woked. I contacted Verizon who sent out a technician who found out that the problem "was on their end." His work order showed someone else's name and address and he went to their house first before coming to mine. They told him they didn't have a problem so he came to my address.
I had called my "old" number from my cell phone to see if it would ring and ended up speaking to the husband of the lady who had "my" phone number. The tech asked them if they were willing to give up "my" number and they agreed to do so. The tech said he would resolve this issue for me because he'd never seen anything like it before. Maybe he and his supervisor should visit this forum and see how other customers have had the same issue. I received two calls yesterday from a Verizon customer support rep who tried to restore my service. She had to transfer me over to security or some department who treated me very rudely and told me to send a copy of my driver license or a copy of a bill to Verizon because they couldn't approve her order request. She had remained on the line with me. By this point, I'm getting **bleep** because this is the 2nd time I've been transferred to that verification department and I wanted to ask "Why don't I just send a copy of "my" bill showing my name and phone number as verification? Would that suffice?" The cust supp rep tried to explain to her what was going on but I am still without service. I had already verified my info last year when service was established and don't feel the need to provide this info again. It's Verizon's mess and they should fix it.
I am penning my letter to the corporate headquarters today. I even chatted online with another cust serv rep who was snarky with me until I typed that the chat session would be included with the letter to corporate. Then she tried to be helpful. What concerns me is even if my number is established, what if it happens again during an emergency? What about a refund that's owed me for paying for a line that was last used in June 2014 up until the present time? I want my money back. I have online banking records showing my payments. I am thoroughly disappointed in Verizon. How dare they take my money, turn off my phone, and now can't even restore it. After I contact their corporate office, if the issue isnt resolved, I am filing a complaint with the State Attorney General's Office as well as the BBB. I suggest that everyone else who will encounter this problem file a complaint too.

Someone else's pics on my iPhoto

Yesterday I was importing my pics to iPhoto so I could send them to the iWeb pages I'm putting together. About 1/2 way through my computer started acting up. Photos would not drag or drop nor move, files wouldn't move and iPhoto would crash and quit.
When I brought it back up I had someone else's photos on there too, all 400 of them! Thank goodness they were of a nice family. I couldn't get rid of them. So got out of iPhoto, then back in and all was where I left my work.
This happened twice. I don't have sharing on either.
Crazy. Anyone else have this happen?

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Purchasing music on someone else's computer

What do I do if I logged on to iTunes Music Store on someone else's computer to buy a song under my account? It doesn't show up in my list of purchased music on my own computer. Is there a way I can get to the song that I purchased?

54C seems a little on the high side to me. It's within AMD specs, but I do not like the word, "Thermal Death".
Below is an example of my system, and the temps that apply to it. My system is not overclocked.
I have a 2400+, KT3 Ultra2-R motherboard, and just recently replaced the Dynatron cooler to a Thermalright SLK-800 with a Vantec Tornado turned down to 4000 RPM. While surfing the web with Norton running, MS messenger, Outlook Express, and four IE windows open, my CPU temps at a room temperature of 78F are: CPU-37 C, System 32 C. Cranking up the voltage to the Tornado and the CPU temp drops to 35C. System temp stays the same at 32 C.
When I use Sisoftware Sandra utilizing the CPU arithmetic and multmedia burn-in for one hour which places 100% load on the CPU, my CPU temp never goes over 39C and system temp rises to 34C; Vantec Tornado is set on high during full load tests.
The Vantec Tornado may be a bit of overkill at full voltage, but at 4000 RPM it is very tolerable. I truly believe the SLK-800 is very capable of excellent cooling with lower and quieter CFM fans. Big D1

Linking 2 drops downs and having tables appear

I need to link 2 drop downs together so that the second is dependant on the first. I also need to have a table appear when the second drop down option is selected. If they change their mind and select a different option in the 2nd drop down a different table needs to appear. Currently i have 2 drop downs that are linked so that the options in the 2nd will change but i cant link this for a table to appear? Im not great with Java or scripting.

How do I export SELECTED bookmarks to a flashdrive or CD so they can be viewed by someone else on their computer?

What I am trying to do is preserve selected bookmarked websites and their contents including videos (if possible) on a flashdrive or disc so they can be viewed by someone else in the future. All I can do right now is export all the bookmarks to a flashdrive where I only want to put selected ones on the drive. I would also like to know if the website marked drops it video (tv stations do this) does that mean it is lost to the drive as well. Thanks

To address the second part of your question:
Bookmarks are just stored URLs, so if the page changes, or disappears, the bookmark won't help in accessing the lost content. If you want to actually download and save content, that's a more involved process, but might be worthwhile in some cases.

You will need to contact Skype Customer Service to resolve this; you may need to have this subscription cancelled and refunded, and take out a new Skype Number subscription. We here in the Community do not have the tools to do this.

Skype is aware there can be problems reaching their customer support unit via the website. If you experience difficulty reaching Skype Customer Service, try again using a different web browser and choosing a different path through the various drop-down menu options presented. Also, look to approve a pop-up dialogue box which would connect you to start an instant message chat with a customer service agent. If you have pop-ups blocked in your browser settings, this will also impede reaching an agent.
