Filter for Current +3 Quarters - Opty Close Date

Hi All,
I have current and next Q in the filters.
I need the next 2 Qs as well.
Can anyone suggest how I can filter and get all 4 Qs?

Try the following filter and replace the date field to whatever you desire:
Date.Date BETWEEN TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, (DAY_OF_QUARTER(Date.Date) * (-1)) +1 , CURRENT_DATE) AND TIMESTAMPADD(SQL_TSI_DAY, (DAY_OF_QUARTER(Date.Date) * (-1)) +365 , CURRENT_DATE)
the 365 days may not be accurate, but it's good enough for me: :)

Updating product revenue close date based off opportunity close date

We do not use the product revenue close date, only the opportunity close date. We need to get the fiscal month of the opportunity close date but we have several reports the need to use the opportunity product history area and that does not contain the fiscal month for the opportunity. If we did a combined report, we cannot offer the user any prompts.
Does anyone know how to get the opportunity close date fiscal month from the opportunity products area? Is there a way to update the product revenue close date when the opportunity close date it updated?

Hi David,
In the universe you describe you have the opportunity 'Close Date'. Use a 'case-when' expression to create the 'Fiscal Month' you need.
Other than that you can use the JoinFieldValue function in the application to retrieve the opty close date, but that will require you to update product revenue for it to trigger which probably won't work for you.

Use FI Posting date as a filter value, can I get YTD for current year?

Dear Expert,
I work on a BI report which calculate the YTD key figure (restricted by 0CYEAR and =< 0CMONTH).
One of the requirement for the report is to allow user to enter a value for a date using FI Posting date (although this is optional).
Without entering the value for FI Posting date, my report works fine.
But once FI Posting date is entered, no data found.
I expect that when the value for the FI Posting date is entered, the YTD value will be calcuated starting from the Jan 1 of that FI Posting year to the FI Posting date entered.
But this seems not happen.
Could you help me to resolve this problem?
If there is a better solution, please let me know.

Thanks for your reply.
In my report, FI Posting date is a free characteristic, which user can optionally select it and fiter it for a specific FI Posting Date. Do you consider it as a global filter?
my query structure is as below:
rows: profit center, department, manager
columns: YTD for current year, YTD for Previous year, the difference betwwen the two
The requirement is when user enter a FI Posting date, use it to restrict the KF shown above.
For example, if the FI posting date is March 15, 2008, then YTD for current year should be restricted by the period between Jan 1, 2008 and March 15, 2008 and YTD for previous year should be restricted by Jan 1, 2007 and March 15, 2007.
Do you have any idea how to implement this requirement in term of FI Posting date?

Opp Close Date - Quarters should be in Company Fiscal Year format

Hi,
I have to design report to calculate No of Opp Closed in Current Quarter and Last Quarter both according to Fiscal Year format.
Now, when I see Report 'Opportunity Analysis' for Data Source 'Opportunity Header and Item', Key Figure 'Close Date' has hierarchical date values (Quarter, Year Quarter etc) same as Calender Year.
For Example.
If Close Date = 15 Jan 2014, then system shows Quarter = Q1 and Year Quarter = Q1/2014. Meaning it is same as Calender Year.
Now, Company Fiscal Year starts from previous year Aug to July. So 15 Jan 2014 should be Quarter = Q2 and Year Quarter = Q2/2014.
Similarly, If Close Date = 10 Sept 2013, then system shows Quarter = Q3 and Year Quarter = Q3/2013. Meaning it is same as Calender Year.
Now, Company Fiscal Year starts from previous year Aug to July. So 10 Sept 2013 should be Quarter = Q1 and Year Quarter = Q1/2014.
To achieve Date hierarchical values in Fiscal Year format, Please let me know if I need to do any config OR if I am missing something OR I can achieve in fiscal format by creating new Key Figure.

As per my knowledge I did not find any setting where you can change the Calendar Fiscal Year in the system.
But what you are trying to achieve can be done in a different way.
If I understand your requirement right if you have 10 Opportunities in Jan 2014 you should see them as Q2/2014 instead of Q1/2014. What you can do is you can create 4 Restricted Key figures for 4 Fiscal quarters , i.e Aug to Oct -- Q1. Sept to Jan--Q2 , Feb to Apr --Q3 , May to July -- Q4 . Then Hide the original Key figure and make these 4 Key figures available in your report.
So if a user searches for Jan2014 the Key Figure Q2 will have some values not Q1. Try this.
This is a round about solution which might work. Quarterly search is not possible in this case as the system is still assuming Jan2014 as Q1 but not Q2 what you did above is just masking of Q1 as Q2 in your report.

Filter measure column for current year

Hi,
I'm stuck up with issue, we have a report from three tables D1, D2 and F1. In which D1 is time dimension. Now we have report from D2 and F1 with measures, and the report is placed in Dashboard which is having year prompt.
F1 is joined with D2 and D1 Time dimension as well, the requirement is in the report one of the measure column say X should always show the values for current year, while others will show according to prompt values.. In short I want to display one of the measure column for current year, even though the user selects the prompt value for year earlier to it the values should not change.
Please let me know, how to achieve this.

I think you can still solve this.
Whatever Srini said keep it.
Now for the date prompt create a presentation variable.
pass this presentation variable in the expression for measure which you don't want the current year.
case d1.year=@{presentationvarialbe} then sum(f1.x) else 0 end
you can also use the filter expression too.
remove year prompt filter from the report. and then add a new filter for the measure as<>0.

Year To Date for Current Fiscal Year

I have installed BC variable Year To Date for Current Fiscal Year 0I_CFYTD..
foloowing error occurs
Variable 0I_CFYTD could not be replaced..

Please check if fiscal year variant is used in the filter. Else the BC variable throws an error. Drag fiscal year variant to the filter area and set a value or variable input for the same.

Dynamic count of the metrices for last 3 quarters + current quater.

Hi ,
In one of our report we want to calculate the count of a metric for last 3 quarters + current quater. But the problem here is that we want to generate the dynamic count.
for eg:
report now should show total count for quarter 10Q4,11Q1,11Q2,11Q3. when the 11Q4 come then the count sholud be from 11Q1 to 11Q4 and so on..
Please note that we have a server variable curr_qtr for caculating current quarter.

the issue has been resolved by making a repository variable for last year quarter and then taking both current quater and last year quater varibale in the report filter.

How to get data for current week and previous week using customer exit in Bex.

I have a scenario in which I need to display data for current week and previous week (based on "sy_datum" the program has to calculate current week and previous week) in Bex using Customer exit. I have created one variable in Bex Query Designer and I have written code for the variable in CMOD. But it is not working fine, (I know that we can do the same by using offset value in Bex). Can some one guide me how to achieve my requirement using customer exit.

Interactive report filter for date not working correctly

but i am getting the row containing created on as *29-oct-2009 17:17* in the report result. How can i correct this

So it is 29-oct-2009 17:17:00 and your record is e.g. 29-oct-2009 17:17:02

Dynamic Date Calculation for Current Date - 1

I am trying to create a variant with a dynamic date calculation attribute.
I am following the instructions as they are posted to the web but I get an error message.
I want to get all data EQ to the current date -1
In the object for selection screen I enter a D for Selection Variable, for Name of Variable I enter an I to include specific values and the option EQ for current date +/- ??? days. Then I enter 1- for the number of days. I have tried to enter this many times and in many ways but it doesn't work. I keep getting this message "lower limit of interval is greater than upper limit"

Selection-screen has four values -
SIGN
OPTION
LOW
HIGH
Pass your date value in the option low for the screen.
Sign you have already pass as I and option as EQ.

Report on Opportunity Close date forecast Quarters

Hi,
we have created a custom report with fields from the Forecast section in Reporting including the Opportunity close date, and under the 'Close Date' we have put the Fiscal Quarter. However it is coming out wrong in some cases, so i added the 'Date' under the Close date section and not the opportunity section and it is different to the Close date on the opportunity. Can someone tell me what this 'Date' refers to?

That is a very creative solution, Dale. I do have a couple of "what ifs" for you.
What if the Close Date is 10/30/2007... I change this to 10/15/2007 - a change of -15 days. Then I realize that I meant to change it to 11/15/2007 and changed it again. Would this create a problem for the report since the change amount would now show a 30-day change when it is really a 15-day change?
Another scenario has the date change twice in one week, between times that the report is run. The original date of 10/30/07 changes to 11/15/07 and then the next day changes to 12/15/07. How does this affect the report?
When we get to the point that the audit trail becomes reportable, this problem is solved. Until then, it is quite the puzzle. I think your solution potentially solves part of the problem, but depending on how much that date field actually changes and how often you run your report and which fields are needed in that report, it could return misleading data as well.
This is a very interesting problem. Dale has come closest to a solution so far. Any other suggestions for DavidG? I am drawing a blank on it so far.

I just found a solution via the below link
in Bex Formula variabel, Current calander day(sap exit) missing.
Here he is trying to use the existing formula variable.
My doubt here is, Even i could not find this varaible in BEX formula variable, But could see this in BI Content path as mentioned in the above link. DO i have to transport this varaible , or i simply can activate it in production?
I just could find this in BI Content but not in MetaData Repository.

IDOC: Problem with data filter for IDOC extension field

Hallo!
I've created an idoc extension for the basic type DEBMAS06 that works fine. Now I want to use a data filter for one field ( company code ) of my segment. Every segment with a company code different from 100 should be filtered and not send to the other client. But what happend is that for all customers that have at least one company code different from 100, all segments including the one with cc 100 were deleted and a error "Segment ... does not exist for message type DEBMAS" appeared on the screen.
Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?

Not sure about changes to be made at the filtering options.
An alternative would be sending the data to XI as it is and perform the mapping to remove the unnecessary segments.
Disadvantage: Unnecessary processing of segment would be done at XI.
Advantage: The integration logic would be completely handled by XI.
