"Help About" dialog still shows 8.0 after applying 8.0.1 patch

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone who has successfully applied the patch sees version 8.0.1 in the Help > About dialog box. I updated via the Help > Update option and I did see the update downloaded. I was then asked to close Elements 8 so the patch could be applied which I did. However, how does one know if the patch was successfully applied? Most softwate show the latest version when you click Help > About. I still see ver 8.0.

Security scans on DBMS server still show Java vulnerabilities after applying JavaVM Component patch 20233168

JavaVM Component patch 19618575 was applied to our Oracle 11.2.0.3 DBMS Windows 8 server and a security scan was done showing no vulnerabilities.
However, patch 19618575 was rolled back by Bundle Patch 34 (20227195) and Oracle released another JavaVM Component patch 20227195. We applied the new JavaVM patch successfully and the System Admin did the security scan which showed there was still a vulnerability for the JavaVM Component.
Is anyone else having this problem.

I have just applied patch to upgrade from Portal 3.0.9 to 3.0.9.8.1 (Patch applied to loginserver and portal schema) and the External Applications that were previously set up have gone from the portlet.
Does this relate to your note at the bottom:
"Minor issues with Bulk action. 1840420 CUSTOM WRITTEN EXTERNAL AUTH MODULE NEED TO BE UPDATED AFTER 3.0.9 UPGRADE SSOXOID.PKB DOESN'T LOAD.
External authentication modules that were written before 3.0.9 need to be updated after upgrading to 3.0.9. ssoauthx.pks is updated in 3.0.9 and contains additional routines that need to be implemented." ??
If I go to the "Login Server Administration" portlet and select the link "Administer External Applications" I get a list of 5 External Applications that have previously been set up.
If I go back to the Home Page and select "customize" on the "External Applications" portlet I get the message "Your Login Server administrator has not registered any external applications".
Does that mean I should just run 'ssoauthx.pks' & 'ssoxoid.pkb' or do I need to do something else ??

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your iPhone. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear what issues you were having that led up to the attempted Erase All, and/or exactly what behavior you are seeing now (restarting, not responding at all, etc). If you are seeing an Apple Logo screen and your iPhone does not appear to be starting correctly, you may find the following articles helpful:

I've downloaded Firefox 4.0 six times but when I choose About Mozilla Firefox fromt he Help Menu it still shows version 3.6.16 - why isn't 4.0 downloading?

I've keep downloading Firefox 4.0 but I don't think it is working because when I choose ABOUT MOZILLA FIREFOX from the HELP menu, it still show version 3.6.16. I haven't notice any increase of speed either. For quite a while also whenever I click the icon in the lower task bar to start up Firefox, the round cursor icon jumps around rather than rotating smoothly. I've tried many times to contact Firefox but only this morning did I finally find a way to email you. What is the problem that it isn't running smoothly? I double click the icon and it takes forever for Firefox homepage to come on the screen. I usually get impatient while waiting so I click the icon again. So when it does finally show the Firefox Home Page, I usually get 3 or 4 copies of it on top of each other. Why is it moving so slow. I was glad to see the 4.0 version but I can't seem to get it properly installed. What should I do?

Firefox 4 beta versions install in a separate program folder (e.g. C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox 4.0 Beta 10) and doesn't replace the current Firefox 3.6.x release.<br />
So both versions are installed and you need to make sure that you click the desktop shortcut with to launch the Firefox version that you want.<br />
If you do not have a shortcut to launch the Firefox 4 version then you need to create one.

But this is not the first problem of apple. Today I bought an album with the booklet 15 f...... Euros. Music is there but digital booklet isn't! On iTunes before I bought, was an information booklet only with full album... That's a lie!!!!!

I installed teh update a few days ago but when I open Firefox it says :"You're not on the lastest version . . ", but at "Help" & "About Firefox" it shows 9.0.1 "latest release". There's a glitch somewhere.

This is the message when I Open Firefox:
"You're not on the latest version of Firefox. Upgrade today to get the best of the Web!"
At <Help> & <About Firefox>, it shows

Is your homepage set to www.google.com/firefox? If so, that page is wrong. You should change your home page to about:home or some other site instead. The google.com/firefox page is no longer supported.

1) Is it a video clip? Something you recognize? To be clear, it's displaying at a point in your exported movie but doesn't appear at all in the sequence?
2) What are your sequence settings? Right-click your sequence and choose "Item Properties" to verify.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

The help 'About' dialog shows my system at 37.0.1 but I keep getting "older version of Firefox" messages, even from Mozzila, including an option to download 29!

I tried to send a page and the 'installing social services' sequence required me to update to "at least version 29." However, my system is up to date. I do so religiously.
So I thought I would send a support note to ask about that and the support sequence too fired back a message, "looks like your Firefox is out of date." I captured both that any my version info in the attached graphic.
I have gone through several re-installs to clear this problem but it keeps happening. Why?
I also see in the "educated guesses" of my system, below this note, that your system is showing my FF version as 26.0! Can a resident piece of malware hijack FF that badly to deny the updates from proceeding yet present a dialog that shows me as being on 37.0.1? I'm speculating here as this issue confuses me. By the way, I have used Kaspersky--also up to date--for ages.
And I still was not able to send that page, so over to Chrome/Explorer I must go!

HELP - ABOUT - Dialog box

I am currently using LV5.1f1 FDS & APP builder on a PC/win95, and I have
a question that I have not been able to find the answer to.....
In some of my earlier applications using LV3.1, 5.0, 5.01f1, I was able
to create a custom About.vi that would be displayed when the user
selected HELP > ABOUT from the menu.
In LV5.1f1, the previous method does not bring up the custom About.vi.
Does anyone know if this feature was removed or changed? Or is this a
bug?

I'm using LabVIEW 8.2.1 on OS X (8.5 is on its way, and I'll give that try). To start, I had to write and external to replace the "About LabVIEW..." item in the application menu to "About myApp", due to an apparent LV bug (discussed in another thread) for my standalone.
I made the About dialog (About.vi) so that it opens centered, transparency 100%, modal, and is not set to show on open or load. The vi sets a display string with the application name and current version, then opens itself (FP.Open = true), shows itself (FP.Transparency = 0), then sits in a while loop till clicked, at which time it sets transparency back to 100 and closes itself.
The problem I'm having is that when the "About..." item is chosen, there is a brief flicker of the window in the "original" position (that is, not centered, but where the vi window was when saved), then it appears where it should (centered) and works correctly. It appears that LabVIEW opens the window, _then_ enforces the 100% transparency (as specified in the vi parameters, not due to program execution).
I've tried running this window from another vi (not via the About menu), and it works perfectly. So, I tried to make an About.vi that would not open at all, but would call my About dialog vi, but this didn't work either--LabVIEW seems to always open the About.vi window, no matter what I try.
This sure appears to be a bug. Any way to fix this?

Trash still showing a size after emptying

I have just emptied the trash and notice that if I 'Get Info' it still shows a size of 34.93GB. Have tried secure empty and a restart but it still shows. Any ideas?

I suspect you have been trying to empty your Time Machine files.   Not a good way to do it. Read the following.

Mail still showing 3.5 after update to 10.5.8

As the title says, I don't have 3.6 after the update, and spotlight only shows my having this version. Why on earth should this be? Anyway, I'm using Pacifist to extract and install Mail from the 10.5.8 package directly. Hopefully this should solve it. I'll let you know.
Update: Didn't work. I still have 3.5 and no working Mail!

Mail is in Applications.
I used the combo update (always do).
I didn't repair permissions (ran Techtool Pro prior) before update, but I am now.
I've tried installing with Pacifist and chose to 'update' - still ended up with 3.5.
Tried again but this time took Mail out of the Apps folder first. Ended up with 3.6 but the mail icon was missing and in anycase it wouldn't launch.
Doesn't make any sense. Never had an issue like this before. Also, you'd think I'd be able to do something with Pacifist. Any help would be really appreciated.

HELP ! Aperture is showing fuzzy previews after rebuilding a new computer

following a traumatic theft I have rebuilt my new mac and find aperture unusable as all my pictures in preview when looking at an event are dreadful and fuzzy, okay when you open but all the small pictures are very fuzzy. Making aperture unworkable

Hi IWC, sorry to hear about your theft - good news that you're up and running again and still have your images!
Have you tried re-generating a preview to see if it fixes the fuzziness? If you haven't, try right clicking on an image, hold down alt/option and the "Update Preview" option near the bottom of the menu will change to "Generate Preview". If that fixes it, try re-generating the previews for your full library either by selecting them all or from the "Photos" menu.
Apologies if you've already tried that and it didn't work. If you haven't, hope it helps!

Updated to 10.10 but ABOUT screen still shows 10.9

I thought I updated to Yosemite 10.10.2, the update downloads, installs, and the machine reboots but when I check the OS version in the ABOUT window I see 10.9.5, did the OS update or not?

Duh! Posting the screen showing it did not update is exactly the point I was trying to make.
The questions seem to me to be is... 1) HOW can I download the update a file of over 5 gigs, 2) Have the system tell me it installed the update and... after the update is completed and BECAUSE it updated, 3) the machine reboots BECAUSE it thinks it UPDATED, but, and this is a big BUT, 4) the new screens and the ABOUT screen (and the OS) does NOT, repeat, DOES NOT, show that the system's OS really did update to the new version? This makes no sense!
So does anyone know... How can I do all of the right actions and get most of the right messages and have the OS NOT, repeat NOT update to 10.10.2? I have checked the software version using the UNAME -RSV (all lower case) and I get "Darwin 13.4.0 Darwin Kernel Version 13.4.0: Wed Dec 17 19:05:52 PST 2014; root:xnu-2422.115.10~1/RELEASE_X86_64", something that makes no sense to me with the OS supposedly being Yosemite 10.10.2 (although I am willing to concede that these two result will not, necessarily, match 100%) but... they should match SOME!
On the surface, this software update process appears to have bush league kind of performance with respect to code updates (i.e. it is a commercial package but it really does not appear to work!) but... from what I can tell from the data, the system did NOT update and I can not get it to work correctly. Also, what I can tell, there is nothing to do in the update process besides starting the update and letting it run its course, yet... I get non-sensical results.
So, does anyone know how or what I have to do, or could possibly have done wrong, to get this sort of non-sensical update result?
