Fresher In SAP (Fi/CO)

Hi All,
I am an MBA (Fin) graduate and I have around 3 years experience in investment banking, back office loan operations, working in a world wide recognized bank. Could any one please suggest me, if there is any scope for me to enter into SAP(FI/CO)field with this banking domain experience. I have spoken to a lot of small institutes in Bangalore, which offer these courses (fees ranging from Rs.15,000.00 to 20,000.00). Could you also please suggest me if this course is worth while and is there any bit of scope to obtain a job, with out faking any experience certificates, after completing these courses?

Dear Mr.Sudheendra Rao,
Its good that you want to break in to charming world of Consulting and I also see that you have choosen to pursue something commemorating your experience.
The best way is to search all the archives to find answers to similar questions already first.
First things first, I am sure you are aspiring to break in, considering the plush pay that a Consutant gets,you sould also give in a thought to what it takes to groom your self to that level. you need to get your self locked and study for 6-8 hrs a day for a year. If you are already working then you would be crushing in.
So join some small institute and kick your self hard till luck favours you and remember there are no short cuts. Start early and give it ample time to prepare your self and get a firm footing with your concepts.
Lo and behold, you'll find your self the job of your dreams sooner of later.

The best way to Learn (not only basis) is to read, I suggest start with the basics so get yourself a good SAP book and inform yourself about the choices available as SAP is a very broad software and you can focus in a lot of different braches inside the fuctional or technical areas.

How to get a job being a fresher in SAP HCM

Hi.
Can anyone guide me.How can I get the job into SAP HCM Profile.
I am an MBA in Human resource. Along with 8 years of experience into the same HR functions. I have completed SAP HCM training from a local institute in the month of Jan this year. They were suggesting me to go for a fake experience letter to get the job into SAP. Which I refused to take.Coz I dint find ethically right to go for such thing. I have also uploaded my profile into job portals,where every job demands at least one end to end implementation should have done.
I am getting very impatient as am not getting any relevant job calls as per my profile . Can any one guide me How will I get the job in SAP HCM Profile.

While more difficult, I applaud you and your integrity to be ethical in the process of looking for that first job. You are rare, and that should be commended.
This may not be what you are looking for, but do you have any opportunities to take an internship (sometimes at no pay, sometimes at lower pay, and often only for a season)? This will allow you to get some experience and also get your foot in the door with a company. From there, you will have an easier time selling yourself.
You have 8 years of experience in HR. Were you using SAP systems during that time? Would you be able to start off as a functional analyst or possibly a business analyst while looking for opportunities to take on tasks in the system to get professional experience with SAP HCM, as part of your transition?
These are just some thoughts that might help you.

To get the shortcuts of SAPGUI as well as other details -
1. Log on to SAP R/3 sytem
2. On any transaction, click on the icon having tool tip text 'Customizing Of Local Layout (Alt+F12)' icon from the standard toolbar. One menu will be shown.
3. One of the options from the menu is 'SAP GUI Help'. Select the option & SAPGUI help will open in another window.
4. In the help, from the 'Appendix', look into 'Navigation using keyboard'.
5. Shortcuts are mentioned here.

Now I will address your attitude about it:Its absolutely understandable to be upset over something like this, especially with such an expensive product, but you are generalizing far to much. You may think Apple is being unproffesional by not warning potential buyers of the iPods common faults, but do you really think they would? they are out to sell these things, they arent going to point out the bad in their product. And not all iPods have problems, in fact only a fraction do. That gopes for the rest o Apples products as well. You are too hasty assuming all Apple products are junk, and one of many reasons as to why that is unfair of you is becuase you dont own any other Apple products.

How to get a Job as SAP BASIS Fresher

Hello Master's,
I'm Raju Maddu and I'm from Vizag (Visakhapatnam). I have completed my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at 2012. Once I've completed B.Tech, I started my career in the Education industry as System Administrator along with CCNA training at NIIT. And I have 2 years experience in that field.
I did a lot of research and I found that I have a good career ahead of me in the SAP BASIS domain. I joined a institute and I did the BASIS course. They have provided real time training with the SAP BASIS tools and t-codes & Security. And I have real time experience in SAP BASIS.
However, I don't have the SAP certification. I'm trying to get in to the SAP basis field. I also don't know how to reach a right contact for getting a job as a fresher in SAP BASIS.
Please let me know how to get a job as a BASIS fresher. Any help will be very much appreciated.

its somewhat too tough to get a job in SAP as a fresher, but it doesn't mean that it is impossible.
I will only sujjest you to upload your resume at all leading job-portals, but please search any small
scale industry, where sap has been implemented, and talk to them (i know its not easy, but never
loose your hope anyways).
You have told that, the training institute has provided you real time exposure, but for your kind information, these things are not calculated as a real time exposure in any companies,
if you work in any organization, then only it will be counted.
So, search, search and search, untill you get a job, even in starting if salary will be low, just
catch it, once you will get right exposure, it becomes fruitful for you.

As per my opinion, Every SAP modules need some domain knowledge in that module.
without domain knowledge SAP market treets as a Fresher .
you can try any business based organization like core industry to get domain knowledge in SAP-SD.
then easily you can get break in IT service industry.

Ans: FSG is mandatory field in ! GL Creation. You use this field to define which fields are displayed when you post business transactions to a G/L account.
A field may have one of the following statuses.
- Suppressed
- Display
- Optional
- Required
8. What is chart of account and how many charts of accounts can be assigned to a company?
Ans: Chart of account is a list of all G/L accounts used by one or several company codes.
For each G/L account, the chart of accounts contains the account number, account name, and the information that controls how an account functions and how a G/L account is created in a Company code.
You have to assign a chart of accounts to each company code. This chart of accounts is the Operating chart of accounts and is used for the daily postings in this company code.
You have the following options when using multiple company codes.
You can use the same chart of accounts for all company codes
If the company codes all have the same requirements for the chart of accounts set up, assign all of the individual company codes to the same chart of accounts. This could be the case if all company codes are in the same country.
In addition to the operating chart of accounts, you can use two additional charts of accounts If the individual company codes need different charts of accounts, you can assign up to two charts of accounts in addition to the operating chart of accounts. This could be the case if company codes lie in multiple countries.
The use of different charts of accounts has no effect on the balance sheet and profit and loss statement. When creating the balance sheet or the profit and loss statement, you can choose whether to balance the co! mpany codes which use different charts of accounts together or separately.

The status of fields of the master record of GL belongs to company code area.
12) What is reconciliation account; can you directly enter documents in that a/c?
Ans: When you p! ost items to a subsidiary ledger, the system automatically posts the same data to the general ledger. Each subsidiary ledger has one or more reconciliation accounts in the general ledger.
We cant use reconciliation account for direct postings.
13) How do you control field status of GL master records and from where do you control!
Ans: Field status variant is maintained all FSGs.

16) What is Country and operational chart of account? Why do you use group chart of account?
Ans: Operational chart of account Day to day activities It is mandatory.
Country COA Its used for legal specific requirement of each country. Its additional and optional.
Group COA used for consolidation of Company codes. This is for group consolidation purpose.
17) What are all the segments in a Customer/Vendor master record?
Ans: Segments in Customer           Segments in Vendor
-      General Data segment            General data segment

18) What is open line item management? What do you mean by clearing open line items?
Ans: Open item management is further reconciliation function. OIM allows you to display the open and cleared items and amounts in an account. Salary clearing account and GR/IR Clearing account.
19) What is residual payment and part payment?
Ans: Residual payment it clears original invoice with incoming amount and create new line item for remaining outstanding amount.
Partial payment it leaves the original invoice amount and creates new
line item for incoming amount.
20) What is internal and external number ranges?
Ans: Internal Number Ranges: Doc. No will be provided by the system automatically in serial order allotting the next available progressive number. The number must be in numerical.
External Number ranges: Doc. No will be given manually by the end user. System will not lock no automatically in this case. User can pick the number randomly. Number may be an alpha numeric.

Pre-requisites and steps for uploading chart of accounts in sap r/3

I am a fresher in SAP FI. I have a completly new set of Chart of Accounts which i need to upload in the system. How do i do it and are there any pre-requisites for the same i.e variants to be defined and assigned completly before uploading the Chart of Accounts.
I have heard of LSMW , but then how do i use it can anybody help me on the same.

Yes, you need to define first the chart of account name and it should be assigned to the company code in OBY6.

How to calculate the results in SAP HR TEM

I am the fresher of SAP HR(TEM)consultant.My client wants to upload the historical data into SAP HR TEM. When i am calculating the results of employees, that means competent or non competent using with followup transaction code, but it showing no qualification were found which could be transferred.

Actually the historical data means,employees who attended the training in the last month.I need to upload these data into SAP HR(TEM). I created business event group, business event type and business event(using without resources). I assign attendees for the business event.when i want to calculate the results that means competent or non competent by using PV15-followup transaction code it will showing no qualifications were found which could be transferred in the qualifications to be transferred coloum,and i it will not showing me attendee name,qualification and proficiency that means competent or non competent.

i was going through different threads that getting job as SAP ABAP fresher is very tough .If i consider my profile i have only 3.5 years of software development experience .If i do ABAP then i will be fresher in SAP .
1)so how should i proceed to get a proper break through in this domain.
2)When is the Peak time for doing this course.
3)Is Master Degree Essential to get a break through in SAP ABAP.I have B.Sc IT

Welcome to the world of SAP ABAP! There is plenty of work at the moment, so you've chosen a good time to start.
I've been doing it for over 10 years, and I would recommend it to anybody.
As for your questions:
1) The best way to break into ABAP is do the courses BC400 and BC401. Then try to find a job where you can gain experience
2) These courses are held all the time
3) No special degree is required, you just need to know how to program BEFORE you try to learn ABAP
4) SAP is used all over the world, so don't worry about specific locations
Once you have done the training and have some on-the-job experience, then you should try to achieve certification.
