How do I include javax.ejb.EJB in a Web Project?

Hi,
I have set up an application with two projects. One is called EJBModel and the other is UserInterface. In my UserInterface project, I am writing a bean class and I want it to access the controller beans created in EJBModel. I created a private type for the controller bean and used the @EJB annotation. When I try to import javax.ejb.EJB I get an error saying it is not found. Other javax packages popup on the list of available imports, but not ejb. How do I include it in the UserInterface project?

Yeah your right...let me further explain what I'm doing.
I'm creating a web application using the Model-View-Controller design pattern. Model represents data, View represents data display, and Controller is control. I created the EJBModel project in my web app to contain the model aspect. So it has entity objects and beans to access/manipulate the data. Then I created the UserInterface project to store the web interface - mostly jsps. In the UserInterace project, I need a managed bean that calls methods from the beans created in the EJBModel project. I can do this using the @EJB annotation and creating an instance of the class, but since the files are in separate projects that can't see each other and JDeveloper shows an error because it can't find the necessary file. It is best practice to create two projects to keep both elements distinct.
So I wanted to know the best way to access the files stored in separate projects within the same application.

To be honest, I found those stencil fonts earlier, but thank you for pointing them out to me as I only just discovered them :-)
In this particular instance I need a bit of a variation on this stencil font.   I have taken a screen shot of the site CodeBlueRecruitment.com.au as I see it on my computer, so was hoping to get that version of stencil out of Dreamweaver CS5.5 and onto the live site so that it can be accessed via everyone as you are right it wouldn't be on many visitor's devices I would agree.
I would be thrilled with any advice on that one :-)   I have been reading a lot of forums but can't seem to hit the nail on the head.

Relatively simple question, but I am having a lot of trouble with this. Documentation
alludes to this being possible and easy, but never says how (and the only tutorials
I can find describe creating a custom java control in the same project where they
are used):
"You can design a custom control for use in one project, or you can design a custom
control for easy reuse in multiple projects." (from WLS docs on Java Controls)
"When the control project builds, all of the controls and associated files are
compiled into a single jar file and pushed onto the classpath of the containing
application for immediate use and testing by other projects in the application.

I have a Workshop application which contains a few projects. One project is a
component project, another is a web project. I created a custom java control in
the control project and built it (JAR appeared in the Libraries folder). Now I
open up the page flow in my web app project, and try to drag the java control
onto my page flow - but I get an eror that the control must reside in the same
project! It does not automatically appear on my palate, so if I go over to the
palate on the right, and try to "add control" I only get a list containing the
BEA controls - no custom controls are listed.
What am I doing wrong? How can I incorporate my custom control into a web project?
I don't want to move the control in the web project, since this contradicts the
concept of a separate shared library. I should be able to build a library of controls
and reuse them in our web projects right?

Please disregard... I got it to work. For some reason I had to close Workshop,
restart it, then I reloaded the application, rebuilt the control project, and
now my control appears in the list of controls and can be easliy added to the
palette.

How can one invoke a WebLogic EJB from a BPEL Server hosted on OC4J?
Reason I ask is I keep getting this error:

Note: I am using <bpelx:exec> as a way to execute some java program.
Essentially my java client (essentially an EJB client hosted on Oc4J) needs access to wlclient.jar since it needs access to weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory. I have a EJB client running on BPEL server hosted on Oc4J that needs to access some EJBs hosted on weblogic.
Where do I place this wlclient.jar so that BPEL PM can start peacefully and at runtime discover the InitialContextFactory classes?
Placing it in the j2ee/home/applib doesn't solve the problem. The server fails to start up if I do this
I tried placing it in BPEL-INF\lib directory ...
I still get the same exception...see below for exception dump
I verified the BPEL suitcase, and it in fact does contain the jar file wlclient.jar

I did exactly as you suggested. I edited the application.xml and added this

I didn't add weblogic because the needed classes were all in wlclient.jar
I also edited the BASE_OB_CLASSPATH to include this jar.

Each app server provides their own jndi factory class. For ex for weblogic it is weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory. SInce you are using sun app server, check if there are any examples to find out or the docs.

Since the client is in a different machine the localhost is not going to work here. provide the url or the machine name of the system in which ur sunapp server is running. In addition u will need to have the stubs of the remote interfaces in ur client machine.

I presume, since EJB's do not - directly, at least - communicate with a web browser, that you intend for "Java WebStart" to somehow invoke an EJB?? Java WebStart is a technology for running client-side (Java) applications from the web browser - perceptively, the application resides on the server, but technically it, like an applet, is downloaded to the client and run there. Unlike an applet, however, it is not constrained by "sandbox" restrictions and does not have to be re-downloaded each time it is invoked - though the process allows for automagically updating the client-side with new versions of the application. ;) So, with this in mind, to "use Java WebStart with EJB" means little more than deploying an EJB client application with Java WebStart as the distribution channel.

The online documentation says, by right clicking on EJB in system navigator, I should be able to see the context menu for creating a Sample EJB Client. However, I only see "New Java Client" and that too is disabled. Can somebody tell me how do I generate the Sample EJB Client.

How to include javax.mail.* in a JAR

I use a Recipe JAR through StudioONE, and I can not include javax.mail.* as a content.
Once the jar has been generated, I try to run it and obviously I get and ClassNotFoundException because the javax.mail.* was not included in my jar.
I'm I right ? What am I doing wrong ?

You are talking about an executable jar file, right? You don't put the javax.mail classes in your jar. You put classpath entries in the manifest of your jar file to tell the JVM where to look for classes in other jar files.

Most samples in edocs use javax.annotation package, but I couldn't find any of javax.annotation package in jars of %WEBLOGIC_HOME%\server\lib folder.
I want to use it such as javax.annotation.PreDestroy, javax.annotation.Resource etc.
I'm using WebLogic 10.0 and Eclipse 3.3.
Where can I find a jar include javax.annotation package?

HTTP Basic authentication on EJB 3.0 based web service

How do I enable HTTP Basic authentication on EJB 3.0 based web services for OAS? Does any one have a sample solution ?
I manually updated oracle-webservices.xml file to include the following:

Accessing EJBs from a Web project

I am getting the error: "com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at java:comp, the whole lookup name is java:comp/env/ejb/UserInfoServer." when I try to access the session bean from my web project. I have followed the instructions explicitly in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/55/29ed5eff965448941c0b42f01b9804/frameset.htm and also tried every other combination I can think of for configuring the references in both the EJB project & the web project (both in the same ear). I do have a jndi name in the visual administrator for localebjs/sap.com/myEar/UserInfoServer. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've managed to get around the problem for the time being by using "/localejbs/provider/application/beanName" - bypassing (I think) the whole JNDI issue - this is OK for now, but it's obviously not a long term fix.
Previously, I had used the default & so did not enter anything in the ejb-j2ee-engine.xml, and so my ejb's showed up nicely in the Visual Administrator JNDI Registry under the localejbs tab as you would expect. The problem appears to be in the Web project - The key is that the error is "Path to object not found" rather than "Name not found". It seems to me that it knows what it is looking for & that it is valid, but doesn't know how to get there! Note that the EJB project is in the same EAR. The only reference to "Path" that I can find is in the help doc above where it says "If the name of the target enterprise bean is not unique in the enterprise application scope, you can enter the path to the JAR file that contains the bean...". I've gone through the Car Rental Application pdf (I can't find the download that contains the entire application) & followed the instructions there explicitly for referencing ejbs from the web..

Noob JSP + Servlet + EJB information for building J2EE simple web project.

I am new to Java. Covered basics and now jumping into making a simple web project. Project with functionality as below
1- CSS and Javascript use.
2- Managing user information (Add, Update, Delete, List)
3- Login form (Pass username, password and authenticate to create cookie)
4- Success/failure page.
That's what I want to make. I have lots of ASP.NET experience so its better to learn from making a project.
I need help like
1- Anyone know any open source web project from which I can learn to complete above tasks.
2- Any good latest J2EE 6 books to cover JSP, Servlts and EJB to make website.
3- Any video tutorials.
