HR personnel availability as input to PM labor capacity planning

Good Day SAP Gurus!
I am looking at using HR's personnel availability as input to PM capacity planning.
I am planing to take this approach;
1.Reference HR in shift definition in IMG
2.Use the shift grouping in Work Ctr capacity header
3.Define Interval of Available Capacity using the shift defined
Appreciate your valuable inputs for the above steps to ensure it will work as well as the transactions/table to check personnel availability between HR and PM.
Also, I have read that I can use "Performing Work Center" in operations of capacity category "personnel" for the same purpose but I don't know how this works.
Anyone has better approach? Thanks a lot in advance!!

Hi
without knowing the answer:
i would first check the integration points of PErsonnel Time Management with other SAP Applications. As far as I remember is the "CATS" (Cross Application Time Services) function collecting data for cross company topics, like capacity leveling tasks.

  • Contract Currency Field not available for input

    Dear experts,
I am configuring RE-FX in SAP ECC 6.0 and when i try to create a contract with a currency different from the company code local currency, the contract currency field is not available for input even though in the field status, it is checked as available for input. I want to be able to use a currency for my contracts different from my local currency. Also, havent yet made any changes to the standard field status settings.
Any kind of advice would be appreciated
    Many thanks

    Hi Severina,
different currencies for RE-FX are introduced with Enhancement Package 2. Therefore you have to implement this enhancement package and activate the business function for Real Estate and the appropriate subfunction to be able to use different currencies.
Hope that this information is helpful for you.

  • More than 1 blank line available for input in IP-Excel based?

    Hello,
We are converting a large BW-BPS application (> 200 active users) to IP.
A major requirement is the availability of the "blank screen" in Excel, similar to the BPS standard screen, where users can cut-and-paste multiple lines into it.
IP - Excel-based appears to give only one blank line available for input at the bottom of the query.  Is there a setting or change available to give 20 blank lines, similar to the UPP_SET_DEFAULT_DUMMIES program for BPS?
If this is not available it would be a large drawback to converting to IP, as users require pasted-in input from other systems, or "templates" where they change just a few numbers or rows each month, etc.
    Thanks,
    Aaron Benner

Mayank, thanks for the info.  I knew about the analysis item option in the web, unfortunately I'm only interested in the Excel option.
Marc, can you shed any light on this subject, as pertains to the Excel-based IP?
    Thanks, Aaron

  • Available the "input data", in BPC version 10

Why do not I have available the "Data Input", in BPC version 10?
What permissions should I have? ...
I check Use as Input Form option,  General tab in Sheet Options;   but not available  "Data Input"  in Ribon EPM

Then you must create a new task profile, call it ALL_TASKS and place every task (including Use Input Forms and Save Data) in that new task profile.

  • Query for data input into IncoCube (Non Integrated Planning)

    Hello Gurus,
i was trying to search over the internet how to make a query ready for input, but without using integrated planning, but no luck.
I want to make a bex query (specific form) which could be filled with data by simple user, and then on button click sent to BW InfoCube.
Is it at all possible or not?
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi,
    Thanks for quick responce.
So basically what you are saying is that only IP anables me to enter the data through BEX.

  • Availability Check with ATP Logic  or  Against Planning-reg

    hi gurus,
    what is the difference between
    Availability Check with ATP Logic
           or
    Against Planning
means can we have two types of check?
how can we do against planning?
    rajendra

    Hi Prasad,
I think it would not possible to maintain to procedures at the same time for single material.
availability check against ATP is  allowcation of material based on certain rules like which we set under basic functions - AC.
In this process you cant allocate the stock for specific customer.
In case of AC against planning you can allocate each and every material along with qty to specific customers.
Please see the configuration required for planning.
    1. Allocation Procedure (OV1Z) the product allocation procedure is the parent of the entire allocation process. All materials that are to be included in the allocation scheme are required to have an allocation procedure assigned to it in the material master. In addition, as of release 4.0, it is in the procedure that the method of allocation is defined. The user has the opportunity to set an indicator to identify their choice of two different methods (discrete and cumulative allocation) to evaluate the quantities to be considered for product allocation.
    2. Allocation Object (OV2Z) the allocation object is the root level of the allocation process where actual data is entered and planned in LIS. The object allows the user to further break down a procedure into smaller parts for future validation of components comprising a specific material
    3. Allocation Hierarchy Mapping (OV3Z) Primarily, this transaction permits the assignment of an allocation procedure to an LIS information structure. Secondly, a character is assigned to the information structure to permit collective planning. Finally, the user can assign a step level to the procedure and information structure to sequence the order in which allocation quantities are checked. This functionality allows the user the opportunity to check product allocation against several product allocation scenarios, before the required quantity is confirmed
    4. Define Consumption Periods (OV5Z) The allocation consumption periods functionality is only valid if the allocation method flag has been set (OV1Z). If you have de-selected the method field, this functionality is not available. The consumption window indicates the number of past and future periods to be used in the allocation check.
    5. Control Product Allocation (OV4Z) In order for the allocation process to function properly, allocation control records are created primarily to map allocation procedure steps to their corresponding objects so that the allocation data records can be located for validation. Secondly, validity periods must be established to indicate when the allocation control records are active. Finally, the user has the option of establishing a conversion factor per allocation control record to accommodate BOM listings of constrained materials
6.Activate Allocation for Requirement Class (OVZ0) In order to turn on allocation in the standard order processing functionality, the requirements class must have a flag indicating that allocation is relevant.
    7. Activate Allocation for Schedule Line Category (OVZ8) In order to turn on allocation in the standard order processing functionality, the schedule line must have a flag indicating that allocation is relevant
    8. Create Planning Hierarchy (MC61) In order to adequately establish allocation quantities, the user must initially determine the level at which the allocation is to take place and the aggregation factor of the allocation quantities. In this step, the levels for the collective allocation search procedure are also identified.
    9. Generate Masking Character (OV7Z) Upon completion of the level determination for the planning hierarchy, the collective allocation masking character must be generated to allow aggregation indicators to be established. This transaction simply reads the hierarchy established in the planning table and then generates a collective mask character for each level of the hierarchy
    10. Modify Planning Hierarchy (MC62) This step is a repeat of MC61 where the initial hierarchy was established. In order to complete the hierarchical set up, the collective allocation (mask character) hierarchy must now be maintained with the appropriate aggregation factors
    11. Allocation Procedure Assignment to Material Master (MM02) At the root level of the allocation process are the materials. Each material that is to be considered in allocation scenario must be mapped to an allocation procedure. In order entry, then, when a material is entered with a valid allocation procedure in the material master, the allocation data is verified prior to confirming the line item ordered
    12. List of Suitable Structures (OV9Z) This report is used to identify potential LIS information structures that can be used in the product allocation process. This report simply reads through the data dictionary and selects all the active information structures that contain the field product allocation object (KONOB) as the first field. This data can then be utilized in the mapping transaction (OV3Z) to link the allocation procedure step to an information structure (previous step).
    Reward if helpful.

    Raj

  • Item Category Grayed Out (Not Available for Input)

    Hi Experts,
I want to know SAPs logic for graying out it. cat. field (PSTYV) when entering an Order. Item category  cannot be changed while creating an order once its determined. How & why does SAP grays out it. cat. field and under which circumstances.
My case: I have a configurable item and based on this item subsequent item and its it. cat. is determined, once SAP determines second item it is graying out it. cat fields on both items. Though in configuration I have manual it. cat. maintained for both items along with dependancies. Any info on this matter will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Copy Input Ready Query Variables into Planning Sequence

    Hi all,
We have the following scenario. We developed a model using Web Template. The model has an input ready query and a Panning sequence associated with it. Both of them using the same Planning Filter that has a input variable for Profit Center (say ZPCTR). If I run this model in Portal the planning sequence automatically takes the variable given for the input ready query and the sequence runs without any problem.
We were asked to implement the same model in BEx as the users felt more comfortable using Excel when working on this model. When we assinged the planning sequence to a button and after we run the input ready query and then click on the button to run the planning sequence, we get an error message saying "You have to enter values before you execute". The Planning sequence is not taking the values we enter for the input ready query automatically.
I read through the forums on the same issue and saw that most of them reported about the same but could not find a conclusive answer. I tried the following options.
    1) Enter the expected values in the excel in one location and gave the address in the "Command Range" of the planning sequence. Still it does not work.
    2) Tried SAP suggested method as given in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/45/e301089d574a88e10000000a155369/frameset.htm It also does not work
    3) Couple of them suggested to use a different variable for Profit Center in the filter of Planning sequence (say ZPCTR_EXIT) and populate this variable. I wrote an exit for this variable and populated a fixed value say '100' into it. The sequence runs as expected. But I do not want use a constant, I want to store the value entered in ZPCTR into ZPCTR_EXIT.
when I use the regular logic "LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO var_inpiut WHERE vnam = 'ZPCTR' ", it does not work. the exit variable works if I store some constant values, not variable values.
Can you please suggest how can I work with this. Is there any table from which I can read the profit center value the users enters into the Exit variable.
    Thanks for your time,
    Ram.

This error generally comes when we use some user input variable in the sequence which is not restricted in the query. Even though you are using the same filter for both planning sequence and query, check the planning functions inside the sequence which might read an user input variable which is not available in the query so that it is not appearing in the query selection screen. Like in FOX reading a variable using VARV or a variable restricted in the field for condition of planning function etc. Make sure that all the variables used in the sequence (planning functions) are kept in query restrictions if they are of type ready for user input so that they will appear in the selection screen.

  • Issue with Input Ready Query in Integrated Planning.

    Hello Everyone,
I've been working on Integrated Planning for some time now. My company recently started using a new server for this work. I find that I am unable to make the queries "input ready". Though I edited the properties of the key figure to "accept user entered values" and chose the option to "start query in change mode", when I execute the query, I find that it the values for the Key Figure cannot be changed. I tried to search in the OSS for any note(s) regarding this issue, but was unable to come up with a solution. Is the problem related to the server or is there some other configuration that I should take care of? Additionally, I would also like to know if there is any method to debug such a problem. I would appreciate it if someone could help me out in this regard.
    Thanks,
    Jake.

    Hi,
    Please verify the following.
    1. Check if the underlying realtime cube is in "Planning Mode:Loading not allowed" state in rsa1
    2. If you have created an aggregation level, Check if the most detailed information is available at that Aggregation Level(i.e, include characteristics so that the record can be uniquely identified at that aggregation level).Best would be to include all characteristics and create a query first and ensure it works. Then remove unwanted charecteristics one by one, so that you can fix the issue.Best thing to start with is to create the aggregation level on top the real time cube itself.
    3. Check for any characteristic restrictions been defined for the real-time cubes. If so, try removing them temporarily and execute the query
4.Also check if any data slices has been created on the real time cube. If so, try removing it temporarily and then execute the query.
    5. Set the property for Planning "Start query in Change Mode"- this is for th Query
    6. Set the 'Key Figure' Planning Property to "Can be changed Manually or via Planning Functions" for the appropriate KeyFigures- this is for the key figures
    7. Try removing the currency/unit from row/column. Try restricting them in filters rather than in row/columns.
    8. Check if there are any locks occurring due to filter., i.e if you are using a filter and even if 1 record of this selection locks with another user's selection you lose the input readiness.
Mostly this should fix the issue. Assign points if this info helps you.
    Thanks,
    Balaji.

  • How to create an input enabled query with Integrated Planning

Hello experts. I have created an aggregation level in IP and I am trying to create an input enabled query based on this aggregation level.  My problem is in the properties.  On the query properties planning tab the Start query in change mode is grayed out and I am unable to select it.  Also on all the chararteristic properties on the planning tab, the planning settings are all grayed out as well and the No budgeting is selected.  There is a red exclamation here that says 'function not supported by server'  Any ideas?  Points will be awarded.

  • Input enable query column using Planning function

Is it possible to input enable a column in query based on user action in Radio button group or button group by calling a planning function or WAD?
By default the column property for query will be Planning not allowed, but a user action should change the mode to Planning allowed using planning function or entries.
    Thanks

    Hi Ravi,
you could try to write an exit data slice and a planning function which sets the data slice to not lock the data during runtime. You can find several threads in this forum. how an exit data slice can be used to control the locking of data during runtime.
Together with the command I mentioned in my last answer this may work, but it still depends on your requirements. A dataslice checks only the combination of characteristics. If you can identiy a characteristic for each column this may work. If not, there is no characteristic combination which can be locked. Please consider this when designing your application. This may lead to an additional characteristic which is used just to identify which column should be locked.
    Hope this helps ...

    Dear all,
We have configured all the requirement for capacity availability check. the planned order is showing overload of capacity. but while doing conversion and checking in production order i am getting "capacity available at all work centers, which is actually overloaded.
Can anyone suggest how to resolve this?

    Sharmila,
I will assume this is a new implementation.  Have you calculated the basic load yet?
