HT201269 can i transfer my iPod playlist that was synched with some else's Mac account to my PC & new iTunes account?

Here's my problem (and take into account I am not technically savvy). I use my iPod nano every day and have an extensive playlist, but my iPod nano is synched with a friend's Mac and under her account, and she has moved out of the area I live in. I downloaded iTunes for Window (7) onto my PC and opened my own account. How do I transfer my playlist from my iPod nano under my friend's Mac account (and there's no way to contact her) to my PC and my own iTunes account? I was told to first "unsynch" my iPod from her Mac using Senuti or Export on my PC, but I cannot find a free version of either program, and don't want to download a free program from a website that may be unreliable. From there, I'm totally lost. So, I basically want to know if this can be done, because I have to hire a technician at my local Apple store to do this whole process for me (I'm terrified of losing my playlist) and want to keep the costs down (they charge $40 per half hour and money is tight for me). I also want to back up my playlist, and looked into creating a Cloud account, but it says to synch my iPod with Cloud first, and I don't dare to try that on my own, so I guess I'll have to pay for the techs to do it. Is there another way to store my playlist, such as a flash drive? Still, I don't dare to touch anything on my iPod without face-to-face technical support. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Thank you!

This is not legal.
The music purchased with your friends account or owned by your friend does not belong to you and she has no legal right to distribute it to you.

  • Is there anything I can do for my iPod Classic that got washed with a load of laundry?

Is there anything I can do for an iPod Classic that got washed with a load of laundry? Sincerely appreciate any feedback

    John,
Needless to say, one would expect water damage as a result of a washer to be extensive.  That doesn't necessarily mean you have no chance of repair however.  I've seen and heard of a couple of do-it-yourself fixes and, if none of those help, you can always try sending it for repair.
    At home, I recommend trying...
Leave the iPod in a bowl of uncooked (raw) rice.  Supposedly, the rice often absorbs the moisture in the surrounding area and, sometimes, from an electronic part.  Leave it for at least 24-48 hours.
Leave the iPod in the sunlight for several hours.  When doing this, make certain to avoid direct sunlight as it may damage the unit.
If all else fails, consider contacting a repair center.  Local is better but, if you have to ship it, contact them and explain your situation before you invest in shipping costs.

    Hello, peppertwist.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
When receiving the not enough space alert, he is the best article to go through.

  • Is there anything that you can do to fix a pdf that was created with the wrong orientation?

Someone sent me 40-page pdf created from a document with landscape orientation that was output with portrait orientation. The pages are clipped off on the right and left. There is no way that I can see that you can change the orientation in Acrobat Pro and if it is converted into a Word document you can see most of the text, but there is still some missing, especially where there are tables. I don't have access to the original document. I was just curious if there was a way around this?

Thanks, that is what I figured. Just thought I would ask. Some of the text that was clipped off did appear when the pdf was converted into a word file, but not all of it.

  • How do I transfer existing ipod playlists that includes my own CD songs from a former computer to a newly authorized computer that ONLY has the iTunes songs I purchased appearing in my library without losing my ipod FULL song lists?

Worried if I sync, I'll loose all the songs on existing ipod that don't appear in new library.  I backed up my former FULL itunes library (purchased songs and my own CD's I burned into library) from old computer to an external hardrive so I have the music files.  Is there a way I can load from external drive former itunes library directly into new itunes library?  THANKS!!!

I just had to do this very thing.  I'm sure there are other ways but IMO the easiest is to haven the old computer set up on the same network as the new computer then turn on home sharing on both computers and move the old library into the NEW computer.  if the old computer is not available anymore you can plug in the external drive and go into itunes and under the file tab there is an option to add to library by file or folder  I f your library is big this can be a tedious process.  Good Lucl

  • I can't find the duplicates tab that i always found useful, it seems to have disappeared from the new iTunes, does anybody know what to do next?

Where has the find duplicates function gone in the new iTunes? It use to be in a drop down task bar menu in the old versions but i can't find it in the latest.
Also while i am in iTunes mode, when i open iTunes i get a message
I have checked the Firewall pane of Security & Privacy preferences and the light is green as in allow, yet the message keeps coming up every time i open iTunes, any idea on how to get rid?
    All useful information greatly appreciated.

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar

  • I can't install Photoshop Elements 9 that was packaged with my Bamboo tablet

I bought a Bamboo Create tablet in October, but I recently migrated my pc from XP to Windows 8, so I have to re-install all my programs. Elements 9 was packaged with the product alongside three other softwares that I installed successfully, but this one resisted two installations. I would like to know how to solve that problem or if there is an alternative way to get the software, like a download or something (I have the product key on hand).
Thanks in advance for the answer.

use compatibility mode (win xp should work) to install pse 9 on win 8.

  • Editing a web site using windows that was made with iweb using a MAC

I published my web site using iweb with my MBP, but at times would like to edit it when I'm running windows. Anyone know how to do it?

You can't. To edit a site created by iweb, you must be using a mac with iweb installed and also with the Domain file installed that was used to create the site.
    http://homepage.mac.com/thgewecke/iwebdata.html
Of course you can mess with the html and other files created by iWeb with any app you please, but any changes will be overwritten if you republish from iWeb later.

  • Is there a way to download an iTunes playlist made from my iPod onto my computer, or transfer an updated playlist that was updated on my iPod onto my computer?

I am a college student and I always buy songs and put them in a playlist on my iPod and I cannot seem to transfer the songs directly to my playlist which has been tempting my patience. If there is a way to do this I would be extremely grateful.

Do you mean you are making an "On-The-Go" playlist on the iPod but it isn't there when you go into iTunes? Once you make an On-The-Go playlist there should be an option in it to Save Playlist and it will call it New Playlist 1. Then when you sync, that should appear in your iTunes list of playlists and you can rename it and whatever.

  • Can Apple disable an iPod touch that was lost/stolen?

My iPod was pickpocketed from me on my way home - unfortunately I can't get a hold of anyone at Apple because it's too late. Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the device remotely using my serial number? I changed as many passwords that I could think of, but I know I have a lot of personal information on there that I would not want a stranger to get a hold of. Can apple disable it once I get a hold of them?

The only way you would manage this would be if you had a Mobile Me account and the touch was a recognised device. I guess from the message this is not the case and the other post is, sadly, your answer.

  • How do I transfer playlists that were synched with my old laptop's iTunes to this new one?

I have a new laptop and loaded iTunes, did a transfer purchases and my playlists didn't copy over. How can I take them from my phone and load them onto iTunes?

The only way to transfer playlists and to make your iTunes library on your new computer identical to your iTunes library on your old computer in every way is by transferring your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link.
