I have no idea what to do. The iPod touch will not work w/ iTunes and has the apple symbol. It keeps flashing white.
The ipod was restored to factory settings and now it wont do anything except show the apple symbol and flash white. Then iTunes says it can't connect because of an unknown error.
Use the search function up to the right. There are a zillion basic setup guides with a simple Google search.

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

- New cable and different USB port, yes a new cable. Differnt conductors are used for data and charging
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

My ipod touch is not recognized on itunes and will not turn on or even give me the battery sign that it is dead. I turned it off and it won't turn back on now. The screen is completely black and won't do anything. I have tried charging it over night and nothing happened. It was never near water. Does it light up at all? If not, you could have a battery issue.

Why won't it sync? Are you getting any sort of error message during the sync process? If so what is the exact wording of that error message? If this the computer you normally sync the iPod with?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
