I try to open firefox and a window opens that says it's already running and i need to shut the other firefox down and restart my computer, how do i get firefox to work right and open?

This happens everytime i boot up and try to open firefox first thing. It has done this for some time but i never noticed because i was using safari.

Here's a positive thing: Windows viruses can't run on OS X, but they can be transferred from OS X to other PCs (only if you have them on the OS X volume).

You could get a virus from a different source that infected Steam and Chrome without any problem. Viruses normally try to infect as many files and programmes as possible.

iPhones, iPads and iPods touch can't get viruses but they can transfer them to other PCs. For Windows, I recommend Microsoft Security Essentials

Hello Brian.
You don't need to restart your computer to open Firefox again: you just need to close it manually through your application manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC in Processes tab). Anyway, hopefully this support article is what you need:

What's probably happening is that you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

I am currently an owner of an Ipod Touch 4th generation. I see you are having problems with your Ipod Touch, so I will try to find a solution to your problem.
Hold down the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10sec. or until Apple logo appears (Nothing will be lost, this is just a "Hard Reset")

If you don't have original install disks for your Mac, you can order replacements disks directly from Apple at a nominal cost. The original install DVDs are required to reset the password.
If you have no data on your drive that you want to keep, you can boot up from the OSX Snow Leopard disk and install OSX SL.
Insert the Snow Leopard DVD and hold the C key during startup. The Mac should boot from the CD/DVD drive into the installer.
Follow the prompts, erase the disk and install OSX Snow Leopard.

Everytime I click on one of my app tabs it removes it form that brower window and opens it in a new window! how do I get it to work right?

Clicking on an app tab shouldn't remove it from that browser window but it does, seems to sort of defeat the purpose of App Tabs in my opinion. then I have to drag the new tab back into the other browser window and then it works for a little while correctly.

Make sure that you do not drag a tab in the browser window.<br />
Firefox 3.5 versions and later have a feature called tear-off tabs.<br />
You can detach a tab from the current window and open it in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.<br />
You can drag that tab back to the tab bar in the original window to undo that detaching.<br />

How do you get FaceTime to work right?

I am having some serious issues with FaceTime. I bought a MacBook Pro a little over a year ago and it is my first MacBook. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan and I am trying to use FaceTime and I can see and hear the person I am contacting but on their end it just shows me as a frozen turd and no sound. I have managed to get it to work a couple times but overall it never works. I have a roommate and he has the Ipad and he can use FaceTime just fine on his, so it is not the internet. Is there a way to delete FaceTime and reinstall it? Or is there another way to get this to work and I am not understanding it?

Have you considered upgrading the operating system on your Mac?
The newer versions of OS X include a newer version of Facetime with the operating system.

This has happened to me a couple of times many months ago. I either kill the task using task manager; or I just re-boot my pc. sometimes just best to completely shut down your pc, unplug the power for a few minutes, and restart. If you're like me and leave your pc in sleep mode for days or weeks at a time, a lot build up, which may cause some programs to hand for quite a while.

When I try to open firefox, it puts up a message that says it's already running and you must first close it before opening. But there isn't one running so therefore I can't open it.

Firefox v 3.6.3 running Win 7 Home premium. About every 6th or 7th time I go to open Firefox from my desktop I receive the same msg as the original poster receives. I must restart to clear up the problem. When I select restart it states a forced shutdown is required and asks if I want to proceed. I click yes, the computer restarts and problem is fixed until the next occurrence.
