IMPORT METADATA IN THE SOURCE MODULE

Please I have a problem with importing metadata, after I select the correct schema, it show me some tables but, it' doesn't show me my tables.
Have I to configure a Runtime Repository Connection before importing source metadata.
Someone know why?
Thanks

Importing metadata into OWB has noting to do with runtime. It's all about design environment.
1. Define module (source or target - no matter)
2. For the module define the source - database link, and may be owner schema. Test connection.
3. Perform the import.
If you refer as "your tables" those your've just designed within OWB - you don't have to import them again into different module. Instead you can use them as a source directly.

  • How to change the source module version

    Hi All,
In the OWB i created a source module and during those steps i clicked on version 10.1, but during deployment in the deployment managaer when i tried to register the location, its giving me an error as "Source verison 10.1 is not matching with the target version 10.2", can any one please help me or Advice me as to how to change the "source module version"?
    Thanks

    Hi
what i understood is that the source module is associate with the location and you have provided the 10.1 which you need to change.
so you can change that under location.

  • No response when trying to Importing Metadata into the DAC Repository

    Hello,
I just installed OBIEE and OBIAPP as well as Informatica and am now trying to login to DAC client to import metadata into the DAC repository. So Tools->DAC Repository Management>Import. After I checked Universal and Siebel 8.0 and clicked OK button, there is nothing happening. I can actually still click on the Cancel button to close the Import window.
Has anyone experienced this before? Really appreciate some help here.
    Thanks,
    Harry

I have exactly same problem. did you manage to solve it?

  • Can i make a mapping of data to a table in the source module?

I have a mapping with source-target like this:
source: external table in the target module.
target: tabel in a source module
    can I do this?

target needs to be owned by runtime()till R1 or control center(r2). in your case you dont need to create as source, you can register as another one target and a new module (target), that will resolve your case

  • Premiere Pro won't let me drag an imported video from the Source window to my timeline

I've tried to insert it, but it won't me do that either. It just gives me a "Do not Enter" sign next to my cursor. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have not created a Sequence.
Be sure that your Sequence settings match your footage by doing this:
Or, right-click a media file and select 'New Sequence From Clip".
How do I choose the right sequence settings?

    hi thnks
Actually i done like that previously but i am not able to create indexes on 2 large tables thats why ia m redoing the work by droping the table and creating the table and indexes and importing table level like ignore=y ,indexes=n .
One more dought i am importing the dmp from the production to test db. when i checked the size ot index in test is bigger than production index same script used to create indexes in both dbs.In production i imprted the data thn created index using script. Here created the table and index thn imported. Why this is more size ?

  • Fail to import metadata

    Hi,
I am trying to import metadata from existing module, I have the DB link and I had imported several tables few months ago. Now after several months I try to import more tables, I click on the module and click import I get the import metadata wizard, I deselect everything except tables and on the object selection window I try to expand tables I get foll error message:
    API2206: Connection to source failed.
ORA-02019: connection description for remote database not found.
I logged on to the database where the DB link is located and I tested the link by querying the tables and it works fine there but not in OWB.
Can anyone please advice me on this.
    Thanks

    Hello
I think the connection ie, DB link is not specified for the same.
You can check it by going to Properties of Source Module.
ie, right click on the source module>>Properties >> Connection
Specify the connection (DB link) and check whether the location is registered.
I think this should solve your problem

    Hi everyone,
A few days ago I installed the Administration and Clients OBIEE11g tools on my machine. To do so follow these steps:
    - Install Weblogic Server 10.3.3
    - Install OBIEE 11g using 'Software Only'.
I selected this installation because BI Server is installed on a Linux server.
In the machine on which I installed previously existed the following products:
    - Oracle Client 10.2
    - Oracle ODBC Driver 10.2.0.2
When trying to import Metadata into the repository, using Administrative tool in OBI 11g the import fails with both, ODBC and OCI drivers. Always the same error appears: “The connection has failed.”
I created the tnsnames.ora file (which points to the database) in the path [Middleware Home] \ OracleBI1 \ network \ admin.
I tried to import metadata for replacing the DSN connection string. For this I have followed this syntax: (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS_LIST = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = [ip_address]) (PORT = 1521))) (CONNECT_DATA = (SID = [db_name ]))). But it does not import metadata. Always the same error appears: 'The connection has failed. "
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks in advance.

  • No objects displayed when importing metadata

    Oracle BI 11g 11.1.1.6.0
The BI server is installed on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.
The Client Tools are installed on Windows 7.
I'm trying to import metadata from the warehouse into the repository.
I specify the connection type as OCI10/11g, specify the data source name etc, and it connects ok (as indicated by the fact that it goes onto the next screen without a connection failure).
However, in the screen which says "Select the metadata objects you want to import", there are no objects shown in the "Data source view".
    Any ideas why not?
I know the connection pool/ data source is ok because I can update the row counts on some of the existing objects I already have in the repository, and these are correctly updated with the exact number of rows in the warehouse.
Is it something to do woth the fact that the BI server is on Linux and the client toosl are on Windows? The last time I used the tool it all worked ok - but then both the Server and the client tools were installed on Windows.

    OK - I have a solution!
I've worked through this with Oracle Support, and the official answer is that there are some files missing from the Oracle BI Client install, on Windows.
There's no fix for this as yet, but you can do the following as a workaround:
    1. Copy the Windows <middleware_home>\Oracle_BI1\bin folder from the Oracle BI Server Windows install to the BI Client's oraclebi\orahome location.
    2. Add this bin folder in the PATH variable
    3. Restart the Administration Tool
Make sure you match 32-bit or 64-bit, as necessary.
Obviously, this requires you to install the Oracle BI Server on Windows somewhere, so you can copy these files across.
When I did the above, the list of database objects available to import suddenly appeared!

  • INVALID SOURCE MODULE

I have worked with OWB for a while, but this is my first exposure to owb 10g, and the 10g database which in the case serves as my source database. I was able to create a target module, and import from my 10g database my target tables. However when I attempted to create my dblink for the source module I receive the following error API4006 (the database link contains invalid info) API2414 (Cannot determine version info for the specified dblink). Please HELP.

Yes my source schema has connect priviledges, actually it has dba priviledges. I also seeded my repository 10g as well. I tried to use the same dblink I setup for my target module and I still receive the error message. I tried deleting the source module and recreating it and got the same result again. I can not understand this error, if I got it for both target and source I would then look to the database install, but I only get this for the source module. I have also tried to create another project and I still get the same error.

  • Find Triggered report name in the function module.

    Hi All,
A function module is being called by many Reports say (100). Now the question is, I need to find out the Triggered report name in the function module where I can do required logic change based on the report. I cannot include an import parameter in the function module to capture the Report name, for this solution I need to change 100 reports. Is there any better way to find the Triggered report name in the Function Module?
    thanks in advance.
    ravi

    Try system parameter SY-CPROG.

  • How to OMBEXPORT source modules ?

How can I OMBEXPORT source modules ? I cannot find a corresponding objectTypeValue in the scripting reference document.
    Emiel Odijk

    Emiel,
The (known) issue is that we do not support Oracle source modules in this release. You would have to export the entire project, which includes the source modules. If your database source is not lower than Oracle 8.1.7, then I would recommend you capture your source into a target module. Going forward, the distinction is going to disappear anyway.
    Thanks,
    Mark.

  • Source Module issue

    Greetings,
I am in the process of migrating from Forms6i client/server to Forms10g. I am now at the stage where I am compiling the forms on the OAS server. There is a form called default.fmb which is the source for all the forms that need to be compiled. Some of the forms compile correctly whereas some do not. I have determined that the source module for some of the forms is DEFAULT while others are default. The file on the OAS is default.fmb which means the forms that have a source module of DEFAULT will not compile.
How do I change the source module from DEFAULT to default?
    Regards,
    Bill Chadbourne

    Not really.
the jDAPI is a Java-API which can be used to modify any source-setting you can also set via the Forms-Builder. When you install the devloper-suite, the JDAPI is also installed. As fas as i remember there is also a little sample java-program shipped. If not, search the forum, there are some examples.
