Location - FTP Type

Hi everyone,
I created FTP type Location and set correct parameters for Host, User, Password and path. During the file import process, when I try to expand path to select objects I alway get the same error:
API2836: Directory ... does not exist.
I have enabled FTP in Runtime.properties file. (with stopping and starting the control centre)
One thing is interesting... if I put in path box only /, I can expand the tree and I got the files from my local repository.
Does anyone knows what is the problem and how I can solve it?
Thanks in advance.

HI,
You make sure that, the path should be shared one. We can do this using samba server.

Gowtham Sen.

  • Using wildcards (*) in sender file adapter - FTP type

    Hi guys!
Dooes it work using wildcards in sender file adapter (FTP type(!) (filesystem obviously work))? I tried it and it failed. it works only for exact name..
I read some articles about FTP and the result is, that ftp work always only with 1 file, so I'm wondering, if this is possible.
    Thanks for info!
    Olian

    Thanks for all replies..
I know of course, that * can be used, I use it in many scenarios too. But on a FileSystem. It is not working if the sender type is FTP.
*, ., *.dat, ...  nothing like that works..  Just exact file name.
I am able to pick up file, if I specify it's exact name, so there should be no problem with permissions..
Please, I'd appreciate one reply with comfirmation: yes, we are using asterisk (*) , we access source files via FTP and they are processed.
Is there anybody with this experience, that it works?
    Thank you!

    Hi Amit,
To check whether the location is present in TM (And I am referring to TM 8.0), open NWBC (either using t-code NWBC or launching your locally installed version).  Select Master Data - Transportation Network - Define Location.  Enter the values from the error message into the Location and Location Type fields and hit display.  If it is not there, you will need to CIF it over from your ECC system (or you could create it in TM, but recommend CIF).  The t-codes to CIF it over are CFM1 and CFM2.

  • Locating Currency Type in SAP

    Hi All,
I'm from BW background. We are pulling some Maintainence Orders data based on Currency Type (ex-10, 20 which are Company code and Controlling currency type). Where in SAP can I see thisCurrency type. I have the Accounting Document numbers. Please help.
    Thanks,
    Vivek

Currency Types are usually located at the time of configuring Additional Local Currencies i.e., Parallel Currencies through T.Code OB22. The following currency types are available in SAP
    a. Group Currency - this will enable for cross company code postings in a controlling area - this defined at client level
    b. Hard Currency - this is used for valuating the currency and used in countries of high inflation
    c. Index based Currency - this is with reference to the country where a certain index basis is used and also applicable
countries of high inflation are there
    d. Global Curriency - This is used for Legal Consolidation.
For any company code, apart from company code currency which is defined at the time of creation of company code, we can have two parallel currencies or additional local currencies.

  • File Location Characteristic Type

    Hi all,
I have a scenario to use the File Location Characteristic Typein my module.I created one Characteric Type of File Location value and applied to Account Entity.
I gave the char value as "http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E18733_01/pdf/E18365_01.pdf" and it opens when click on the "Lanch the file" button.
Also i gave the folder file reference also like "C:\SPL\CCBDEV\Test.doc" but it's giving "Access is denied" error.
Is there any extra configuration/rights is needed to access the files from the folders?

Whoops. Somehow I forgot about Go->Go To Folder, and overlooked it when trying to find it, when I wanted to do this for the first time in a while. How embarassing...
This interface is of course also available in the file selector via the normal shortcut (ShiftOptionG)
Even "more direct" access to folder location would sometimes be nice, though...

  • Picking up mulitple files from same location - FTP?

I have recently completed ther TBIT40 - Exchange Infrastructure Fundamentals course.
One of the questions I raised to the tutor was picking up many files from the same outbound folder (Non R/3), with variable names, via FTP.  These files will be time and date stamped.
Unfortunately the Tutor was unable to answer this question for me...
How do I specify a variable file name in the file system access parameters in my communication channel?
Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?

    Hi Barry,
Where was your course held out of interest ? Ours was in Holland.
Wildcards definitely work as we tried this on the course.
Alternatively, you could make sure the directory you are processing only has files in for this process and nothing else then you could process everything regardless of the name just use .
    Good luck with your processing.
If this helps, please award the points as so few people do
You can do this by clicking on the yellow star next to my answer.
    Cheers

  • Location (Object Type F) as business partner

    Hi,
My customer has requirement to create a corresponding BP record, every time a Location is set up.
I see the config settings for Persons & Org units, but not for Location.
    Has anyone done this before?
    Any suggestions/ workarounds?
    Thanks.
    Shivani.

    Ignore my previous message.
You may better approach SAP by raising new message. As you said, current BP object creation in HR is restricted to P & O.

  • Locating font types (somewhat urgent)

    Hi all,
Hopfully someone here can save me from a LOT of work.
in an open .pdf file (PC) pressing Ctrl-D will display the fonts used in the document. This document I originally creates in InDesign. So in InDesign, is there a way to display all the fonts used in the document as well as what pages they reside on. I am trying to publish a Blurb book and am having trouble locating an incompatable font that I though I had eraticated from the InDesign file. But after
exporting to .PDF I find that somewhere that fon is being used. But where?????????????????????????????????
    Thanks all!!
    Brian

This sounds like real good news...an easy solution. I'm still holding my breadth, but headed over to see what turns up. Bottom line, this is something the
Blurb tech people should have on the tip of their tounge with respect to support.
I'll let you know what I find.
UPDATE: Oh Yes, U guys/gals are great. Saved me a whole lot of time to say the least. I'll be sure to let the Blurb techies know this simple procedure. I've been playing email tag with them for more than a week and they have not offered this simple tool (solution) to eliminating undesirable fonts from the document.
    Awesome, Awsome, Awsome.
    Thanks!

  • Where is address bar location, to type "about:config"

I go to a particular website, it takes more than 5 seconds to load, and Forefox gives me this annoying "unresponsive script," knocking me off the site because continuing button never works.

Be careful if you disable that warning by setting the value to 0.<br />
If something goes wrong then you either have to wait a long time or force the browser to close via the task manager and may need to start Firefox in [[Safe mode]].

  • Why doesn't FTP work in Boot Camp

I've tried a Windows 8 installation and a Windows 7 installation.  I cannot use FTP to remote servers.  I've tried multiple clients.  The client will connect to server, start to upload a file, but then nothing.  This is booting into Windows, not using parallels or anything.  I've tried disabling firewall, but nothing.
FTP clients work fine in Mac OS ( 10.7.5 ) and on laptops running both Windows 7 and Windows 8.

    Thanks,

Turn off your Windows firewall completely. The passive mode is trying to use a port that may be blocked. It is not enough to just open port 21 with passive mode.
If that does not work, try using active mode rather than passive mode to see if it makes a difference.

  • How to use FTP binding transfer?

    Hi
I tried to make a BPEL process with File BC and FTP BC(transport)
But though files are stored in a archived folder and named sample_%d.txt"%u"_processed, there are no files in the folder of the FTP server.
I want to upload files into the ftp://localhost/upload. I read the wiki document and thought that it is not suitable to use FTPBindingMessage, then FTP binding type is transfer type.
Someone could point out ? what is the wrong.

Since it's also a fast and reliable server, i don't mind waiting a few days, but more than a week is TOO long.
What's the use of a bleeding edge distribution when you can't get updates that have been available for more than a week ?
For now, i have fallen back on archlinux.org , but will look for another european server.

In contrast with the name, that server doesn't seem to have ANY arch packages anymore.

  • Remote Access to TC Disk from Windows/PC. Do I need DynDNS. Using FTP

I need to be able to have anyone on the Internet be able to access my files on Time Capsule. I am using my Time Capsule as a router and do not have a static IP. My Internet Provider is comcast and modem is a Motorola Surfboard.
    Here are my basic questions:
How can my Time Capsule be accessed remotely via PC/Windows? What protocol? How?
Can Time Capsule be set up do FTP? What port mapping do I set up for the personal and private UDP and TCP?
Since I do not have a static IP address, do I need to subscribe to a Custom DynDNS account?
    Thank You

How can my Time Capsule be accessed remotely via PC/Windows? What protocol? How?
Windows or Linux PCs can access the Time Capsule's (TC) file service via the SMB protocol.
The following is the basic steps to configure the TC's hard drive to be accessed from the Internet.
    Configuring the TC
AirPort Utility > Select the TC
o Note the value of the IP Address. This is the Public or WAN-side IP address of the TC. (Note: You will need to have either a static Public IP address, or use a free dynamic DNS service, like you suggested, in order to access the TC from the Internet.)
Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection
o Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
Manual Setup > Disks > Files Sharing tab
    o Enable file sharing (checked)
o Secure Shared Disks = With base station password
o AirPort Disks Guest Access = Not allowed
o Share disks over Ethernet WAN port (checked)
Manual Setup > AirPort > Base Station
o Enter a Base Station Password and verify it in the Verify Password box.
Manual Setup > Advanced > Port Mapping
o Click the plus sign "+" to add a new port mapping.
o In the Public UDP Port(s) and Public TCP Port(s) boxes, type in a 4-digit port number (e.g., 5688) that you choose.
o In the Private IP Address box, type the internal IP address of your TC that you noted earlier.
o In the Private UDP Port(s) and Private TCP Port(s) boxes, type 548, and then, click Continue.
o In the Description box, type a descriptive name like "Time Capsule File Sharing," and then, click Done.
o When you have made all the changes, click Update.
Connect the PC to the TC from a remote location
o Type in your DynDNS domain name, plus a colon and the port number you specified when configuring the TC earlier. For example,"www.myTC.com:5688"
o You will be prompted for your user name and password. The user name can be anything you like; the password would be the TC's Base Station password you defined earlier.

  • Two storage location concept in EWM AFS ROD.

    Hi Experts,
This post looks very old so opening a new thread.
    http://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1563967
As mentioned I would like to know the working of AFS and ROD storage locations in EWM.
    ROD -- F1 Unrestricted in putaway  ,      AFS -- F2  -- Available for sale.
    1. I can perform goods receipt for both the storage location using inbound delivery.
For  ROD  stock will go to stock type F1
For   AFS stock will go to stock type  F2.
    2. As per the information I can not perform goods issue from ROD ie I can not create a Outbound delivery to issue the goods from ROD storage location.
    3. If any goods issue is needed I should transfer the goods from ROD storage location Stock type F1 to AFS storage location in EWM, may be by transfer posting.
Does these points make sense ?
    Regards

    Self:
In EWM we have to use two storage locations : 0001 (ready on dock ) and 0002 (available for sale )...
    In configuration ewm : availibility group 001 + 0001 and  availibility group 002 + 0002
                                     availibility group 001 + F1 and  availibility group 002 + F2
Create delivery and confirm the warehouse task : stock moves to 001  F1 , Storage type maintained in Warehouse process type  > and this will trigger receipt in 0001 at IM
Later when the goods receipt is posted in EWM from delivery the stock will move from 001 / F1 to 002/ F2 in 0002 store in IM
    Hope this helps !
