Making a button end a presentation

Our company has an LMS set up to handle all of our Captivate projects, but I'm having issues with getting back to the LMS once the lesson is over in Captivate. Is there a function you can assign to a button that closes the presentation and goes back to the LMS?

Hi there
The best you can do is to configure your presentation to close when it completes. If you need a button to close it, insert a slide at the very end. Time that slide super short. Perhaps .1 seconds. Then program the button to jump to the last slide.
The net result should be that the user clicks the button, the last slide is visited and if it can, the presentation closes. And there lies the rub! Depending on how the presentation was opened to begin with, it may not just close.
Unfortunately that's an issue with the way browsers work (or don't) and it's not only browser dependent, but browser version dependent!
Cheers... Rick

  • Lock Button ending calls... WISH IT WOULD CHANGE

So, I know with my iPhone 3G no matter if I was in speaker phone mode or regular mode or using headphones I would be able to hit the lock button during a call and continue with my conversation... call would not be terminated.
I get my iPhone 4 and now a days, before I connect the lock button ends the call, if I am connected in a call and not in speaker mode the lock button ends the call, if I look at the phone wrong it ends the call!
So here is my wish, that the next software update will allow the end user (me!) to be able to hit the lock button and no matter what mode I am in when making or connecting to a call and have it not end said call!

I most definitely know it is a firmware thing... I apologize if I made it sound like it was a iPhone 4 specific feature.
I just wish that the function of the lock button associated with calls was only to decline a call, not to end a call...ever.

  • IC Web Client: Requirement: After click on button END back to CALL LIST

    Hello Experts,
we are using CRM 2007 (6.0).
I have to implement the following requirement:
When the user clicks on the button END in Interaction Center the user should come back to the CALL LIST.
Right now the the system always is getting back to IDENTIFY ACCOUNT. This is not very comfortable for the user as he or she has always make a view clicks to come back to the call list in order to call the next account (customer).
I tried to implement the required behaviour using rule policies (Intent Driven Interaction).
    I customized the following:
    If
    Current Event Equals Interaction ended
    Then
    Navigate To ( Navigation Object type:Action = "IC_BT_IHI:B" )
Now I am pretty sure that the event 'Interaction Ended' is the right one, BUT my action is not correct! The system does not jump back to the call list.
My problem is that I can't find the correct action which gets me back to the CALL LIST!
Or is there another way to implement this requirement?
I would really appreciate your help!
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Roman
Ps: Actually there is an action called CALLLIST:B (Call Lists:Display) but this action does not seem to work properly!

    SOLUTION:
    Customizing was missing:
    Define Generic OP Mapping:
    Flag at 'Use Link ID'
Maintain IC_CALLIST in Logical Link ID

  • PPT action buttons are not present in pdf file upon conversion

    Hi
Am using Office 2003 (SP3) and Acrobat 8 (version 8.1.6).
Have been using action buttons in the presentations for several years, works fine.
When converting existing files, action buttons in both PPT show and pdf file just works, no problems.
Newly generated presentations work fine as PPT show. But when converted to pdf file, the action buttons are simply missing.
Have verified that all action buttons are "at front", same result.
Have tried to avoid corporate templates by creating a blank presentation and building a small and simple navigating presentation. Again, works fine as PPT show. And again, upon conversion there are no action buttons present in the pdf file.Corporate changes thereby should be ruled out.
Have checked all settings (including "Adobe PDF, Change Conversion Settings") between a working and a non-working PPT file, can't identify any differences.
A colleague helped out (using Acrobat 6), same result. But upon activation of "Adobe PDF, Change Conversion Settings, Restore Defaults", the action buttons worked for him. Tried it with Adobe 8, no such luck.
Have trialed the "Prep 4 PDF" tool, then the PDF file is complete and the "go to slide" keys appear and work again.
All new updates available are installed, anyone experienced the same and found a fix for this trouble?

Have tried both ways, same result.
When working with new presentations, the pdf file is viewable, but the action buttons are not present.
When working with past presentations, the action buttons are present and do work as expected.

  • Making a button rollover change a movie clip's frame

    Hi again everyone,
I knew how to do this in AS2 but now I am having problems
with making a button on the stage goto a frame in a movie clip on
    the stage.
I've attached a sample of my code below, hopefully you'll see
the error and be able to point it out to me?
I have a movie clip on the stage that has different
information in different frames. I want to make it so that when
someone rolls over the button, the movie clip fades in and goes to
the correct frame to display the information.
With this setup the way it is below, I keep getting "Warning:
3590: void used where a Boolean value was expected. The expression
will be type coerced to Boolean.
I know where the problem is happening, "function
    XXX(event:MouseEvent):void {navigateToURL(XXXweb)}"
How can I write this differently and eliminate this problem?
    Thanks,
    Jeremiah

I'll give that a shot, thanks!
A follow up question to that one, is there a way to make it
so that I can have one rolled over function applied to several
buttons / frames in the movie clip? This movie clip has 50+ frames
in it and if I could reduce my coding, it would make life a lot
    easier.
    Thanks,
    Jeremiah

  • Help w/behaivior button error _ presentation doc

Hi I'm learning action script but new to trouble-shooting.
set up a button on main presentation page of my flash 8 pro
    presentation file.
    used the behaivior:
    >screen
    >go to slide
then chose slide numbers. (works fine in a plain, new doc)
but on all of my ten buttons I get the following errors:
    **Error** Screen=presentation, layer=buttons, frame=1:Line 4:
    ')' expected
    if((this.01 != undefined) && (this.01 != null))
So trying to decifer this....went back and "named" each
botton thinking it was instance related. but still won't nav from
the ten individual buttons I've made to the ten different "slide"
    pages.
any help you may be able to translat this to give me a place
to start to solve this....my file complete...looks good..and will
nav thru the two arrow buttons I've made "go to previous" and "go
to next" ....but the buttons that are supposted to allow a use to
go to any of the ten pages does nothing.
    Thanks for your help

    Hi Neo,
    Having taken a 3-day, all-day actionscript class, I realize
how indepth this prgm is, and I know this is a simple thing, and
    totally operator error.
    heres the whole error window:
    **Error** Screen=presentation, layer=buttons, frame=1:Line 4:
    ')' expected
    if((this.01 != undefined) && (this.01 != null))
    **Error** Screen=presentation, layer=buttons, frame=1:Line 4:
    ')' expected
    if((this.03 != undefined) && (this.03 != null))
    **Error** Screen=presentation, layer=buttons, frame=1:Line 4:
    ')' expected
    if((this.02 != undefined) && (this.02 != null))
Total ActionScript Errors: 3 Reported Errors: 3
I've only assigned behaiviors to the first three buttons. The
individual "slides" in the flash 8 pro presentation are named
simply: 01, (for first slide) 02 (for second) 03, etc...I can see
them in the code. The instance names when I click on each "slide"
are also 01 (for first slide) 02 (for second) etc... The wierd
thing is the arrow keys. They are duplicates of the same buttons
that the numbers are, and they work with the "next" and "previous"
behaiviiors. but....also weird, I made a new (simple, clean, no
rollover) button on the "master" presentation page, and used the
    >screen >go to slide feature....and it still did not work. I
thought it the buttons...but...now not sure...
    any thoughts?

  • Making a button appear on a track

I've searched here and in the manual but I'm not sure I'm searching for the right thing. How can I make a button appear within a stream so the user can link back to a menu?
    puzzled.....
    Thanks

It's done in DVDSP by using 'buttons over video'. Basically, you use the subtitle stream to add the text that you want for the button (or graphic, if you import one as a subtitle).
Once you have set the markers for the start and end point of where the button will appear, click in between them in a spare subtitle stream, type the word you want and then click on the editor window to see it appear. From here on in you can use the window as you would when making buttons on a menu - drag out a button rectangle, set the target and so on.
Make sure that you force the sub to view...
On playback, the button will appear as a part of the subtitle. You need only press the 'enter' key on your remote control to activate it, unless you have created more than one button... in which case you need to use the arrow keys to get to where you want to be before you activate the button.

  • End of presentation

At the end of my Captivate presentation, I would like the user to click on a button to exit the presentation and return to their previous application or desktop.  How is this done?  I don't see an action for 'on exit' that will work.  Please advise, thanks.

  • Making a button stop a specific sound

how do i make a button have a behavior to stop sound?

for your case you could have the sound attach to whatever
    frame you going next.
Set it to loop 0 (zero) and SYNC to STOP. It will stop the
    sound once you enter the
    frame.
You could as well attach stopAllSounds action but it works
    like purge and you might
not be able to play it again unless you reload the movie.
Than there is a movie clip. You can place the sound in movie
    clip frame 2
and in frame 3 just like above, loop zero and sync STOP and
    have alternate ON OFF sound
clip but going to frame 2 or 3 from button or frame.

  • Help making a "button" that appears mid-track

So... I have a client who's making a French version of a program that has already been made once in English. The English version was not made by me so i'm starting from scratch with some brand new assets.
The English version has a feature I've not seen before so I'm unsure how to recreate it exactly. Basically, the main program of the disc comes in 2 flavors. the first is just your basic video program with chapter markers for each segment and an end jump to the main menu. the second is whats puzzling me. the program itself is the same video however at certain points during the program a "button" pops up which allows for a jump to another menu. i say "button" in quotes because i'm not sure its the right word.
what happens is a translucent gray box pops up in the lower left hand corner of the screen that has some text in it with instructions to press the enter button on your remote if you'd like to see a related video. when one presses enter on the remote the DVD then jumps to a sub menu which corresponds to the appropriate supplemental program. the button comes up during the end of one chapter and visually is gone within a few second but the functionality of that button is still available for the first 20 or so seconds of the following chapter and then is disabled until the next instance.
my question is: what is that gray box button thing? is it scripting or something? i've never seen this before. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
