MB5B - stock

How does the valuated stock & storage location/batch stock gets calculated from MSEG table in transaction MB5B? I need this to generate a customised report for my client....

Hello Murugappan,
MB5B will take statistics data from MSEG, MKPF and other tables, so if you have similar requirement then I suggest you to make changes in output format to include more information instead of creating new report.
If you have specific requirement, please let us know so other can share their views on that.

MB5B stock on posting date

Hi experts,
For a material XX which was zero stock on 15/11/2008.Goods receipt(MIGO 101) done on 15/11/2008 of qty 100kg. So stock was 100kg. I have issued material XX of qty 75 kg to cost center and entered posting date 3/11/2008. My system allowing me to issue that material on 3/11/2008 without any warning or error msg. But at that there was no stock. So that if i check the report MB5B stock on posting date my closing stock showing in negative for 3/11/2008. Our requirement is how to stop this back dated posting? System should not allow me if i am posting on back date?

I have checked all settings also enhancement but there is no as such control to restrict backposting within current period
I think its self disipline action not to post backdated GI when GR is done on later date

MB5B - Stock on posting date show in other Unit of measure

Dearl All,
Pls support me this case: I would like to see this report (MB5B - Stock on posting date) in other Unit of measure.
This report shows stock in Basic Unit only.
E.g
Material A, base unit = M, other unit = ROL
Report needs show stock in ROL.
How can I do that?

Hi,
In your case, order unit as ROL and material basic unit of measure is M.
PO created only for the order unit ROL, and goods have received from the vendor based on the PO order unit.
So,this MB5B stock on posting date is displayed only the total stock received based on the received GR order unit qty .
stock also managed only ROL unit of measues. it is not possible to list based on the M stock unit.

MB5B - Stock on posting date doesn't show Storage Location field

I run report MB5B - Stock on posting date with Stock Types = Storage Loc/Batch Stock, but the report doesn't show
Storage Location field in result.
How can I see it in this report?

what i think i sthis report is only for the OPENINGand CLOSING stock for the period or day
now whenu give SL field then system will only concider stock from that SL
the filed of SL will not be viewable in report as it is just opening and closing balance

Regarding MB5B(stock details) transaction

Hi all,
there is a standard report in SAP for Stock details on posting date in MB5B transaction. If you go in to this, there is a field 'layout'. what is meant by that layout and how can we add to any report?? after executing we will get a list. but i need to dispaly all field in ALV grid. i am copying standard prog to our prog and doing modifications. Is there anybody developed the same functionality, please send me that code. becuase this is some what urgent..

Hello Chandu,
For a moment forget about this <i>Layout</i> field on the initial screen of the transaction MB5B. Just give the other input parameters on the selection screen and execute.
You will see the results in a list format. There's a Menu Option here called <i>Settings-->Layout.</i> Just try that option out and you'll discover that the layout of the list can be changed and also saved. When you have saved at least one such Layout, you would be able to enter the name of the layout in the initial screen of the transaction the next time you execute it.
Unfortunately, there's no option here to see the list in an ALV Grid. There has been a similar post sometime back: MB5B IN ALV FORMAT
And the Layout option in the case of this transaction has been impe=lemented manually, using the function modules from the Function Group SKBS.

MB5B Stock on 01.01.0001

We went live in 2008. For certain materials system shows stock on date 01.01.0001. There are no material documents for these stocks.
Any clues how this would have happened ?

MB5B - Stock on Posting Date, Specification for data base accec

Hi,
I am facing some problem with MB5B Transaction as when we login with t. code MB5B at the bottom of screen there is radio button selection for specification of database access for best runtime and the default the first radio button is selected i.e Database determines optimum access but with this report is coming very very slow we have to wait for 4 minuts for each material and same if we execute by selectting the second radio button i.e start off with material number i am getting data very fast with in 5 second so i want to know what is diffference between these radio buttons if we select first second or third radio buttons
one more thing we are facing problem from last 4 days only .

I dont have these 3 buttons in my MB5B in ECC6 system.
But I saw OSS Note 1005901 - MB5B: Performance problems
it explains why it is that slow.

RG1 register not tallying with MB5B stock

Hi
I have updated in J1i5 & extracted the register in J2i5, in which few issue entries (201 mvt) are not reflecting in RG1 Register.
When I try to re-run the issue entries in J1i5 under classification IDH, IWE, IWO - entries are not getting registered instead red light indicator is shown with error "processing over of 0 records Message no. 8I300

MB5B report having discrepancies in stock

Dear All,
I have checked the stock balance using MB5B for date 07.04.2009. The system while executing the transaction gives a warning message saying u201CFI document summarization is active / the results may be incorrect
But on 31.03.2009 in MB5B stock value is showing as u201C319u201D and not u201C301u201D which is the correct stock balance (Ref: Transaction MC10)
Now please tell me as to what exactly is done during this FI document summarization which gives us this exact stock difference...???

FI document summarization active mean actually there is only one FI document line item per G/L account in a FI document no matter how many lines are there in the corresponding material document. This affects the audit trail from FI postings back to MM postings as there is no one to one link. This type of summarization is normally required if it is normal to have FI document to have more than 999 lines as this the limit.

MB5B -- Opening stock and closing stock

Hi experts ,
What is mean for opening stock adn closing stock ?
In case of I input the same data of selection dHow they are calculated in MB5B ?
For some material , the closing stock is 0, but why the closing value is not 0 ?

Opening stock:-stock at the beginning of the day
Closing Stock:- Stock at the end of GI and GRs
Reports like MB5B (Stock on posting date) can offer negative results
when executed for dates previous to the goods receipt, but this is only
a reporting issue: if the program is correctly executed for the complete
period (month/year), it should never show negative values.
The reason for the system behaviour you describe is that at the time of
a goods issue, the system only validates whether sufficient stock is
available in the posting period and not on that specific posting date.
So as described, if you specify a previous date, the stock for that
date may be negative, but actually your stock value is always correct.
If you are posting the goods issue in the previous period, the system
will issue an error message. But if the postings occur in the same
period with different dates, the system will not issue any error and
the stocks will be shown in negative.

Any Standard FM for material stocks on posting date using Tcode MB5B

Hi,
I need   Standard FM to get material stocks on posting date using   Tcode   :   MB5B
Stock type i am using is : Storage Location/Batch Stock
the Input   i am providing is    Material, Plant , Storage Location, selection date From , selecDate To.
Then   i need to get data that it provides   header and document item level.
Can u please tel me how do i get that material stock data on posting date and in which tables
it will be populated in the database.

MB5B shows different opening quantity when we select diffferent Stock Type

Dear All,
I am trying to run report MB5B - Stock on posting date with 2 different Stock Types:
- Storage Loc/Batch Stock
- Valuated Stock
But the report shows different opening quantity,total receipt, total issue, but closing quantity is ok.
Could you pls tell me the reason?

Hi,
MB5B transaction is used to display the stock on posting date
It is not possible to view at the same time both Valuated stock and special stock. This is radio button input control,so any one of the stock type only possible to display the material document.
This report display the material and plant vise material document number and total stock and total issue etc for the example,

Difference Between MB5B and MB52 Stock

Please tell me what is the difference between tcode mb5b and mb52.In our system MB5B Valuated Stock Qty and Value is not Matching with MB52 (Unrestricted + GIT+ stock in QI) stock and value.

MB52 : List of Warehouse Stocks on Hand
This will allow you to see avialable/current stock on hand.

MB5B report in column structure

Hi All,
Can you suggest me a report where I can get the details as mentioned below in tabular format for a specified period? (i.e. Suppose in November month we want to get the detail for the month of April the opening and closing stock along with the value.)
Plant Mat Code Mat Desc. Open. Qty Receipt Issues Close.Qty Value.
I checked with MB5B, but it does not provide us the details (as above) in tabular formatu2026u2026
If no Stand transaction is available, then do suggest from which table I can get these details to develop u201Czu2019 report or write a query.

Company Code : ______
Plant : _______
Storage Location : ______ if required to be selected
Selection Date : _________ to ___________ (01.10.2010 to 31.10.2010-report required period to be mentioned)
Stock Type - selected Valuated Stock
List of Scope click category and following options to be tick marked
With Opening Stock Without Closing Stock
With Opening Stock With Closing Stock, Changed
With Opening Stock With Closing Stock, Unchanged
Settings - Totals Only - Non Hierarchical Representation Layout /ZMB5B tick marked
The above input data given & options are tick marked, Executed the report shown opening, Receipt,Issues,Closing stock, UOM, Opening value, Receipt Value, Issue Value, Closing Value, Currency in columnar (like Excel tabular format).

Stock report for a specific date.

Hi Gurus,
Can any one please tell me if there is any option is SAP by which i can get the stock status for a particular day. I mean if i want to check what was the stock report on last week some day, is there an option in SAP to do that. This report should give the stock of that day and any movements after that day should not be included in that report, for example if 10 quantity of a material was available on 26/03/09 and 5 were either moved or consumed, can i get the status in past for 26/03/09 today as quantity 10 rather than quantity 5 which is available today.
