Migrating datasource 0comp_code_attr

Hi Experts,
I am trying to migrate datasources from 3.5 to 7.0 by the following approach
1. Create transformation based on update rule (infosource 7.0 is also created).
2. Create transformation based on transfer rule.
3. migrate the datasource with export.
4. create DTP to load data.
Now when i try to do it for datasource 0COMP_CODE_ATTR.
I can do the first step but while doing the second step, I get the error:
Rule (target: 0GN_PAR_SSY, group: 01 Standard Group): Syntax error in routine
InfoObject 0LOGSYS has a characteristic routine, but no rule
InfoObject 0SOURSYSTEM has a characteristic routine, but no rule *
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
This is probably because you have a key figure with fixed currency, instead of having a reference currency for your key figure. The system tries to generate programs(subroutines/include program) and get the reference currency field but fails, so that syntax error happens for the generated program.

Change a migrated DataSource for DB Connect Source System

Hi,
I have created a DataSource for a DB connect Source system with transactioncode RSDBC as follows:
1. select database TableView
2. choose Edit DataSource
3. fill in the field Application Component (default stated NODESNOTCONNECTED)
4. generate datasource
Result: the datasource has been created in the right application component. As I want to migrate to BW 7 I have migrated the datasource (with export) and afterwards activated it. Now we need to add more fields to the database TableView. After the fields have been added I want to make these fields also available in the DataSource created before.
How can I do this ?
When using transaction code RSDBC I found out that the application component is stated again NODESNOTCONNECTED instead of the application component filled before. Is it possible that changes in the TableView will always lead to create the DataSource all over again (new InfoPackage, new Transformation rules, new DTP).

We have basically the same problem. An existing data source from a DB-connect client and now need to add a new field but edit mode BW does not provide the ability to add or delete existing fields.

Migrate DataSource 3.5 to 7.0 load problem

I am migrating 0PU_O42 from 3.5 to 7.0. Here are my steps so far:
1. Created transformation between 0PU_IS_PS_42 (DataSource) to 0PU_O42 (DSO)
2. Created DTP between 0PU_IS_PS_42 (DataSource) to 0PU_O42 (DSO)
3. Created transformation between 0PU_C02 (cube) to 0PU_O42 (DSO)
4. Created DTP between 0PU_C02 (cube) to 0PU_O42 (DSO)
5. Migrated the 0PU_IS_PS_42 DataSource
6. Kicked off a delta load InfoPackage (a delta init with data already done)
7. Kicked off the DTP to the DSO
8. Manually activated the delta load at the DSO level
The data managed to make it to the cube without using the DTP to the cube. When I look for the load on the cube, it shows its Source/InfoSource as 80PU_O42 and DataSource as 80PU_O42. What am I doing wrong? My goal is to use a Process Chain for these loads. By the way, the Process Chain processes the same way as a manual kick off. The chain is as follows:
Start > InfoPackage > DTP > Activate DataStore Object Data (which insists that it also needs 'Update DataStore Object Data (Further Update)' process after it > DTP. This give duplicate loads on the cube.

In DSO - Do you have Update Data Automatically ticked ? If yes, have it unchecked.
The steps in chain should be as follows :
Start
Execute Infopackage - Delta
Execute DTP - Delta ( to ODS )
Activate ODS
Execute DTP - Delta ( to Cube )
Donot have any other features checked.
As Update Data Automatically was ticked - After you have manually activated ( you have to though unless you use process chains ) the load was directed to target via myself datamart concept which is obsolete in Netweaver 7.0 - 80PU_O42 - Infopackage.

Migrating DataSources Issue

Hi All,
I am trying to migrate my hierachy datasources from 3.5 to 7.0. I am getting the below error message:
"DataSource 4R_BUKRS_0000_HIER(PRDCLT100): Data type H not supported by object type RSDS"
I am able to migrate all other objects other than hierarchies.
Any help?

BW - APO Datamart datasource migration issue

Hi,
Question : Can we migrate datasources exported as datamart from APO-DP system into BW, from 3.x to 7.0 or does it have to be a 3.x datasource with transfer rules, TS , update rules etc ...
1) I know we cannot migrate data marts with 8* or //8 but this datamart is replicated from our APO-DP system and begins with 9*.

Thanks for the reply.
My problem is that I am getting error message "No transfer structure available for infosource 9* in source system" when I run the infopkg to load in PSA ( which is default for 7.0 datasources).
This is the dataflow l I wanted to have which replaces old model as shown :
NEW 7.0 dataflow : Datasource -->infopkg --> psa --> dtp -->transformation --> cubes ( same source feeds 3 cubes ) .
OLD 3.x dataflow : DS >Infosource>Transfer rules--> infopkg --> update rules --> cubes.

COPA Datasource Migration from 3.x to BI 7.0

Hi Experts,
I am facing an issue to restore the migrated COPA datasource from 3.5 to BI 7.0.
I am doing this migration as mentioned below
1.selected the 3.x datasource and in context menu used migrate
2.used option "with export"
3_.No transport request was requested_
4.successfully migrated.
I am not getting the option "restore datasource" in the context menu of the migrated datasource.
I want to use this option if the solution is not working in the new BI 7.0 flow.

I have tried your proposal. But, could did not succeed.
My issue Is I am not getting the option "restore datasource" after the migration & transport request is not requested while migration and hence the migrated datasource is locked as local object.

DataSources Migration

Hello BWers,
I have in my system some 3.x DataSources (with PSA) which provide DSO...
I have to migrate them in version 7.
My question is :
If i migrate DataSources in BI 7 version, have I to do an INIT for PSA and delete data in DSO and reload totally DSO ?
Or after migration I can simply continue my Delta loads ?

Hi,
While migrating, better would be to delete the data from the targets. Logically you need not do it, but its always better to do it.
After that you have to replicate the data.
Then create the Transformation and DTP. You can use the same InfoPackage which you used earlier. All your codes in the transfer rules and update rules are converted automatically.
Then load the data in the targets.

Datasource migration from 3.5 to 7

BI 7 was installed in the environment with datasource 3.5 actviated in source system. I am not sure do I need to migrate datasources from 3.5 to 7.0? Can experts please share with me on what are the features available in datasource 7.0? Will datasource 7.0 improve on delta loading? Is migration a must from datasources 3.5 to 7.0?

Hi,
As correctly pointed out, the datasource migration is not required unless you plan to achieve the following:
1. RDA (Real Time data acquisition)
2. Direct access to master data.
3. Remote activation of datasource (meaning from BW itself, you can acitvate DS in ECC)
However the only checkpoint is that if you are using hierarchies, those have to be loaded with 3.5 datasources as 7.0 does not support hierarchies. It is supported in 7.3

Updating data from ODS to Cube
Right click on Data store object-> create transformation ->give the target cube name->give the load option either full or delta-> activate the transformation and load data from ods to cube by clicking execute in third tab
DTP required between DSO and Infocube to handle DELTAS.

Hi,
I dont think so. You may get this error because first you need to convert the base object's dataflow to 7.0 dataflow. In your case convert the 0PROFIT_CTR's dataflow to 7.0 dataflow and then try the 80PROFIT_CTR.

ASSERTION FAILED error while migrating update rules

Hi all,
We are migrating the 3.x datasource for sd - lo cockpit.
Migration steps are as follows...
1. Make a copy of the infosouce. Activate it.
2. Migrate transfer rules. Activate it.
3. Migrate datasource.
4. Migrate Update rules for the respective info providers.
      But while migrating update rules ASSERTION_FAILED runtime error occurs.
       the assert condition was violated.
       CL_RSTRAN_TEMPLATE========CP or CL_RSTRAN_TEMPLATE======CM003
Please help i tried all the means to rectify but none succeds.
It is occuring for each datasource .

Assertion statement is like a conditional break point in ABAP. When you are trying to migrate the update rules,it is failing with Assertion statement it means there is some error with your update rules. Either the mapping is wrong or the the target to which it is mapped is in inactive state. Please check these and retry your migration.

It is warning only the interanal table adjustment only , it will not be a problem , the data sources are activated
sae data sources u can find in RSA6 replicate in BI and see the data extraction and Check in RSA3 also.

Error in BI at Transformation after migration from BW Rule (target :ZDTAPAK

Hello Gurus,
I have migrated datasource from BW to BI. The update rule from BW against transformation in BI has routine.
I see an error messgae in "Transformation Display"(screen). error msg is
Rule (target :ZDTAPAKID, group:01 standard Group): syntax error in routine
Rule (target :ZRECNM, group:01 standard Group): syntax error in routine
Rule (target :ZRECORDID, group:01 standard Group): syntax error in routine
Rule (target :ZREQUID, group:01 standard Group): syntax error in routine
when I double click on field/ Rule Name : ZDTAPAKID,ZRECNM,ZRECORDID & ZREQUID on all the four field / rule name and go to Rule Details and against Rule Type : Routine , go to Display Rule and land in Rule Details .
There is see routine isa defined, when I check the syntax of routine I get following error .
E:Field "G_S_MINFO-DATAPAKID" is unknown. It is neither in one of the
specified tables nor defined by a "DATA" statement. "DATA" statement
Note: I get same error for all the 4 fields/rule name when I try to check the syntax ZDTAPAKID,ZRECNM,ZRECORDID & ZREQUID
can any one please guide me?
