Referencing remote services

Hi
I'm having some beginner problems. I've setup BlazeDS and
have created my remote service. All works fine when I deploy
everything to the server but I would like to be able to compile my
Flex project and view it locally while calling the remote service
on the web server. I've had success doing this with PyAMF but can't
get it setup with BlazeDS.
From my understanding I need to first edit the
services-config.xml file. I've done this and set it to resolve
my-amf to the server:
<channel-definition id="my-amf"
class="mx.messaging.channels.AMFChannel">
<endpoint url="
http://combinationstudios.com:8400/samples/messagebroker/amf"
class="flex.messaging.endpoints.AMFEndpoint"/>
<properties>
<polling-enabled>false</polling-enabled>
</properties>
</channel-definition>
However when I compile the app the SWF is still trying to
connect to services locally - when I trace HTTP requests it's point
here:
http://localhost:8400/samples/messagebroker/amf
rather than
http://combinationstudios.com:8400/samples/messagebroker/amf
Is there something in the compiler settings I need to define
or another XML file needs to be configured.
Thank a lot
Ben

Hey ben,
how do you configure your remoteObject in flex?? There is an
endpoint option in there.
<mx:RemoteObject id="ro" endpoint="/aceadmin/weborb.wo"
..... >
Try to set the endpoint to your remote server and see if that
works... I never tried it corss domain, only to point it to a other
service within my own domain.

    What you should do is configure DOMAIN gateways between the remote tuxedodomain
    and your own local domain. Then you don't need to call tpinit at all fromthe
    local service that calls the remote service.

  • SharePoint Apps and custom web services as remote services

    Hello,
    After reading documentation about Apps for SharePoint compared with SharePoint solutions I did not find any information about "You
    can develop your custom web services as remote services.".
    Could you please give me links or advise, where I can get information - "How to develop custom web services as remote services" using SharePoint 2013 Apps?

    Hi,
    I would suggest you to use WCF service instead of Web Service,
    also, SharePoint 2013 introduces a Representational State Transfer (REST) service that is comparable to the existing SharePoint client object models.
    Get started with the SharePoint 2013 REST service
    About develop custom web services as remote services,see Demo here:

  • Acrobat Pro 9 SharePoint PDF Review Remote Service Authentication

    I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.4.3 (as part of the Technical Communication Suite 2.5). I am hosting PDF reviews on our company SharePoint server. In the past, I haven't had any problems doing this.
    However today I cannot connect, and a "Remote Service Authentication" dialog box (see below) appears everytime I try to connect to a PDF review. This is the same for both reviews I have started, or for reviews others have started. Also, I have full permissions for the SharePoint Document Library.
    I entered my credentials, then clicked OK. The dialog box just reappears over... and over... and over.
    It doesn't seem to matter which program the PDF documents were created with (same dialog for documents generated from MS Word and Framemaker). And a co-worker was able to connect without a problem and enter comments (of course, I can't see his comments since I cannot connect to the server). This leads me to believe that it is a problem on my machine.
    Any ideas?

    Yes, I initiated the review. When I initiated the review, I saw a different dialog for entering my username and password. That took my credentials and uploaded the PDF to SharePoint.
    I don't remember seeing RSA dialog (see the image I attached to the first post) when I created the review, only when I opened the PDF after the review was generated. At that point, I did select to save the credentials, but it didn't seem to save them (since everytime the dialog appears it is blank).
    I had another one of our tech writers test it before sending it to the rest of the team, and he was able to access the review and put in test comments. He never saw the dialog. At that point, I looked at other reviews that I had initiated in the past, and was unable to add comments to those either (at least for the ones that didn't have a deadline). So I am pretty sure it is something that has changed on my system in the last few weeks. Perhaps a Microsoft Security update?

  • Completely different AMF request packets for same remote service call from Flex to PHP using ZendAMF

    I was trying to debug why one of the remote-services in our Flex application was failing randomly. What I found was interesting. Completely different AMF request packets were sent for same remote service call from Flex to PHP.
    When the service call succeeds the AMF request packet looks like the following:
    POST /video/flex/bin-debug/gateway.php HTTP/1.1
    Host: localhost

    And when the service fails the AMF request packet looks like this:
    ServiceRequest: getMemberFromEvent; RemoteService; getMemberFromEvent
    (mx.messaging.messages::RemotingMessage)#0
      body = (Array)#1
        [0] 250

      operation = "getMemberFromEvent"
      source = "MembereventService"
      timestamp = 0
      timeToLive = 0
    Also, following is the error message on Flex when the service fails:
    {Fault code=Channel.Call.Failed, Fault string=error, Fault detail=NetConnection.Call.Failed: HTTP: Failed, Destination=MembereventService}
    We are using Swiz as the micro-architecture for Flex development and Zend AMF for remoting between Flex and PHP.
    Any ideas what is wrong here, what is causing Flex to send different request packets for the same service & what I can do to fix it?

    Hi, I know that your post is almost 5 years ago, but have you found the solution to this issue?
    Thanks.

  • How to display success message after Remote service call

    Hi ,
    I am currently using Flex form for adding/updating user
    personal details.On submit button click ,i am submitting details to
    server by calling RPC remote service.For calling remote service i
    am using penneframework. On penneframework, Remote service call
    result are populated in RemoteResult object. It dont have any other
    event method for handling result event.For errror handling, i have
    defaultHandler for displaying error message.
    Here i am having two requirements
    1. I should be able to track RPC response, so that i can
    display success message to user along with DB generated ID.
    2. I need to reset all form field after receiving RPC
    response.
    Here my question is
    1.How i can track server response, so that i can display
    success or error message.
    2. Is their any event or coding technique which i can use for
    solving this issue.
    Thanks
    Kumar

    you can do following way :
    quote:
    var token:AsyncToken =
    YourRemoteClass.remoteMethod(param1,param2);
    token.addResponder(new AsyncResponder(
    function(data:Object, token:Object):void {
    // tadaaa response
    function(info:Object, token:Object):void {
    //ooooo , noo, failure

  • Connect Via RMI To A Remote Service?

    Has anyone connected, via RMI, to a remote service within an application module? Currently this seems to wreak havoc upon all future and current ORMI communication to and from the application server in which a model is deployed (or at least within a container). Does anyone have any idea on how to do this correctly?

  • Column Charting using remote service

    Hi Friends,
    as I am a noob to Flex, I'd like to get some help regarding some Charting I am trying to produce.  I have a remote service which calls a java/sql app which provides data. Once the data is returned (in the form of arrays), I need to display the data in a Column Chart. I am able to get the data and display the chart, however I have no control over the chart.
    How can I define the series so I can correctly label the data on the charts? Also need the series defined so I can customize the colour etc of the chart.  Below is a snippet of the Action Script code which I have whipped up to get the data and display it:
                public function resultHandler(event:ResultEvent):void
                    arr = event.result as Array;
                    var colArr:Array=new Array();
                    var j:Array = new Array();
                    for (var i:int=0;i<arr.length;i++)
                        j[i]= new ColumnSeries();
                         j[i].dataProvider = arr;
                         j[i].displayName = i as String;
                           j[i].yField = String(i);
                           if (i!=0) colArr.push(j[i]);
                        // Original line
                        columnChart.series = colArr;
    Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Warren

    This window signifies that your PDF is trying to connect with the comments repository.
    So it is bound to pop up , almost everytime you open the PDF.
    However if you accidently make a typo while entering comments, this window will keep re appearing, even if you enter the right credential in successive attempts.
    The only workaround is to kill the collabSync service.
    however try the latest version of Acrobat / reader i.e. 11.0.6, i believe the problem is fixed there.

  • The class or interface 'mx.remoting.Service' could not be loaded.

    Flash 8 was reinstalled on a new machine upgrade. Application
    that uses flash remoting is unable to be updated after this new
    install error when trying to publish application is :
    The class or interface 'mx.remoting.Service' could not be
    loaded.
    is this because I do not have the "Flash Remoting for Flash 8
    ActionScript 2.0" extension installed?
    and if so do I have to re purchase this or can it be
    reinstalled from the old hard drive of the replaced machine? would
    it be a *.mpx file?
    The application works but I can't publish any new
    modifications without getting this error. and this just started
    since my machine was upgraded.. so I hope this is the problem...
    thanks in advance....

    Found the issue. There was a difference between the target service and the web service object that I was invoking. Even though I have changed the method signature and changed it back, the web service object that I was invoking needed to be recreated. This fixed the issue.

  • Send mail with FB4+BlazeDS+remoting service java

    Hi,
    I would like send email with remoting service in BlazeDS but when i import the service i get and error.
    Thank!!

    how to fix that can you help,,,plzzzz.Google? Which suggests that you should stop using a SOCKS server that doesn't exist. Or use the correct address/port.
    Which means I accomplished in roughly 11 seconds what you couldn't do in 13 days. Although my keyboard isn't horribly, horribly broken so I guess that's one advantage for me.

  • "Coldfusion Flash Remoting Service" doesn't work!

    Hi,
    I have a problem with my flex builder 2. when I create a new
    Flex project,the screen can not go to next screen when I click
    "next" button if I select " Coldfusion remote service" option.it
    works fine if I select " Basic" or "Flex Data services" options.
    I do not know what is wrong with the software and I need fix
    it urgently.
    Thanks for help
    M

    Correct, Saurabh. Captivate automatically truncates wav files
    (the one you edit) to eliminate silence at the beginning or end. To
    get around this there are several options available to you.
    First, you can just move the audio-object on the timeline,
    thus creating your own "silence" on the slide without having to
    actually edit the wave-form.
    Second, you can edit the wave-form but when you add silence
    to beginning or end, also put in some "noise" at the very end(s) of
    the wave-form. The noise can be anything, and I usually just copy a
    teeny-tiny bit of the audio from the file, say, a tenth of a second
    ... then paste it at the end (beginning or end).
    Then use the "Volume" editor to change the volume of that
    inserted noise to the point it is no longer within the audible
    range of the human ear - but still is shown by a "spike" on the
    wave-form - note, if you see a perfectly "flat-line" you have
    turned the volume down too far - it must still be visible on the
    wave-form. That will help it "hold its place" when you click 'OK"
    to save the changes to the wave-form.
    OK???

  • Solution Manager prepared for the Remote Service Delivery?

    In preparation of GoingLive Session, we received a mail with some questions. Among them the following:
    Is your Solution Manager prepared for the Remote Service Delivery? Yes/No
    Is the solution transferred to SAP?: Yes/No
    What does the first question mean? what should be done to prepare the Solman for session delivery?
    How do I check if the solution is transferred to SAP?
    Thanks a lot,
        Dino

    Hello Dino,
    The SAP Solution Manager is a platform for the delivery of services for the following areas:
    ●     Risk minimization
    ●     Optimization of SAP solutions
    ●     Knowledge transfer
    Services in the SAP Solution Manager are services which help you to monitor and optimize the performance and availibility of your system landscapes and minimize your system operation risks.
    You can have the support services performed by SAP or perform them yourself:
    ●     Remote Services
    SAP experts deliver this service type via a remote connection (SAP Safeguarding Services, e.g. SAP GoingLive Check).
    For checking whether solution manager is prepared for remote service delivery u need to check the following.
    Prerequisites
    You have:
    ●     created a solution.
    ●     set-up a connection to the SAP Service Marketplace (Explorer).
    Procedure
           1.      Choose the transaction SOLUTION_MANAGER.
           2.      Choose Delivery of SAP Services ® Service Plan, in Operations.
           3.      Choose Order Service from SAP.
    You go to the Service Catalog.
           4.      Choose the link to the service.
    The system goes to the catalog entry of the service, in the SAP Service Marketplace.
           5.      Follow the procedure described in the SAP Service Marketplace.
    =============================================
    Solution transfered to SAP means that the u have done the configuration, testing and validation of the SAP system components and then transfered this to the satellite systems connected to Solman. Please note that solman is the central point of access for supporting implementation activities and the satellite systems are SAP systems comnected to solman in the landscape.
    Hope this helps. Please assign points and let me know if u need anything specific.
    Rgds
    Manish

  • Could not connect to remote service [rmi://localhost:1099/

    I have a large deployment with two filr appliances and one database and one search index.
    I am running zen load balancer in front of the appliance which works great.
    There are no config changes to the filr appliances in terms of port redirection.
    I had an issue upgrading from 1.0.1 to 1.1 so I blew it away and started fresh.
    After I installed and configured the appliances there were no issues . Now the :9443 configuration section will not work I get
    (this is just the top lines)

    This is on all appliances (search,data,filr1,filr2)
    I restarted filr2 and the admin section 9443 comes back for a short time. Maybe 10 minutes then I get the same error. But now after the restart I get and authentication box asking for credentials on 8443. when I put in the admin or other creds it directs me to a page that says

    I have rebooted to no avail. If I restart the jetty service I do get the appliance login for 9443 but if I try to login I get the same message about [rmi://localhost:1099/
    again if I reboot then 9443 works for 10 mins but 8443 gets hosed. Everything worked fine until I rebooted the appliance.
    I am afraid to even reboot these appliances now in fear that the will cease to work.
    I should also note that this was part of the upgrade issue I had after I rebooted all of the appliances.
    Thanks in advance.

    The password in the FILR appliance configuration 'Outbound E-Mail' was too complex (with special characaters). After changing the special characters with letters and/or numbers, the server starts without any troubles!

  • Remote Service - Configuring Destination - Scope attribute

    I want to clarify my understanding that destination of Remoting Service if configured as "request" scope is safe to use in load balancer (having no session stickiness) with multiple web servers. Pls. note that there is no state maintained at server side for the calls.
