RTF output on web

Hello,
I am using report10g and my AS is windows 2003.
I need to display my report from form button as RTF format on web. I used
web.show_document('http://report_server?userid=user/pwd@db&report=myreport.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=rtf&mimetype=application/msword', '_blank');
Everytime I press button from form, it looks trying to open new IE report window. But a few seconds later the report IE window just close by itself. If I change format to PDF, it works well. Also if I just type above string in URL, report will be open on web as RTF. Does anyone can share some idea?
Many thanks!

It is intresting..
Is the download option checked by default and file getting downloaded to some location and closing autometically?
Please let us know what was wrong.

  • Print RTF output on web

    Hello,
    I am using Form10g/Report10g and my AS is windows 2003.
    I have my report as RDF file and I need to display it on web as RTF format. When I type
    'http://report_server?userid=user/pwd@db&report=myreport.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=rtf&mimetype=application/msword' in IE URL bar, report shows good. But when i put below code behind a form button,
    web.show_document('http://report_server?userid=user/pwd@db&report=myreport.rdf&destype=cache&desformat=rtf&mimetype=application/msword', '_blank');
    the new blank IE window show one secoed and close by itself. If I change desformat=pdf, report shows well. What is reason to cause this? Does anyone can share some idea?
    Many thanks!

    It's just windows IE security. After I set it in trusted site, I can see my report as RTF format.
    Thanks!

  • XML Publisher rtf output not consistent with the rtf created

    I am using XML publisher to generate a custom report.
    The approach I folllowed:
    1) AM Class: Write the VO data to XMLNode using vo.writeXML() method
    2) XML Publisher Administrator Responsibility: Create a data template and attach the xml created in step1 as "Preview Data"
    3) XML Publisher Administrator Responsibility: Create a rtf template (contains images and text), attach the data template (step 2) and attach the rtf created.
    4) Controller class: Use TemplateHelper.processTemplate() method, passing the rtf template and the XML data from VO.
    5) Verify the rtf output in application.
    Issues I am having are as follows:
    1) Major issue is page format. I have saved my rtf file with a different page format as below:
         File->Page Setup->Paper->Width:255 pt
                   ->Height:165 pt
         File->Page Setup->Margins->Top: 12 pt
                        ->Bottom: 0.1 pt
                        ->Left: 0.1 pt
                        ->Right: 12 pt
    When I open my document from the application, the margins and page setup rtf output is not retained (as given in teh doc), hence my whole layout is disturbed.
    Thus, I am getting a very weird layout when I open my rtf output from application.
    How can I retain the page settings?
    2) I added a image, and the size of the image also is not retained as well.
    And if I set the layout wrapping style anything other than "In line with text", the image does not show up in the output.
    Would greatly appreciate if someone can put some light on this.

    RTF & PDF output can't be exact same, we can minimize the difference by eliminating all extra spaces(Ex: from table rows, in between form fields etc.) from RTF while generating RTF output.

  • Bridge CS6:  Output to Web or PDF - insufficient disk space..

    I have recently installed the CS6 cloud version of Bridge, but now get this error when trying to produce (or refresh) a contact sheet using Output to Web or PDF - There is insufficient disk space to complete this operation
    The error occurs no matter what the file size is, or if multiple of single files are selected - and as the sole application open. I'm running the application in OS X 10.8, with 8GB of RAM and 512MB of VRAM, so disk space doesn't seem to be the issue?
    I've just installed the lastest Bridge update, but this has made no difference. Thanks for your feedback in advance..

    I've found an old post which highlights a USERS folder conflict?
    Without any significant knowledge about working over a network I do know Bridge uses a Cache file on a user related base. So it might be possible it confuses the two folders if you have both company and private network based on the same user name.
    But as said, just a wild guess. If you need to work over a network try the blog from the Image Archivist, he also used to hang around here in the past:

  • PDF and RTF output differences

    Hi All
    I'm having some issues when previewing labels in PDF and RTF output. I have created a RTF template that outputs labels - 5 address lines per label, 2 X 10 labels per page. Each label is contained in a table and each address line is contained in a table row.
    - When I preview the RTF output long address lines are not being truncated even though I uncheck the wrap option on the table cell properties.
    - When I preview the RTF output I can get 2x10 labels on the page (if no wrapping occurs) but when I preview in PDF I can only get 2x9 labels on the page. I have checked the font size of both the PDF and RTF outputs and they are the same size. It looks like the header and footer is taking up more space on the PDF version compared to the RTF version when I visually inspect the output but I cannot be sure.
    Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve these issues?
    regards
    Brad

    Always its better to use different templates for individual output types as the template designed with perfection for pdf output type dosen't comply with rtf or any other type and vice versa.

  • Startup Script folder empty - no Bridge CS5 Output to Web?

    Something must have gone wrong installing CS5 Photoshop over CS4 Indesign!
    Even after net-updating to Bridge 4.0.2 the startup script folder (Preferences > Startup Scripts) is empty. When selecting the Output Workspace in Bridge, there is no pane that let one output to Web Gallery or Contact Sheet.
    I'm doing this meanwhile in CS4 Bridge, where it works fine. This Bridge version was coming with CS4 InDesign.
    I downloaded CS5 Photoshop in April (I guess it's an International English upgrade) running it on OSX 10.6.4 on a new 17" Book.
    Is there an upgrade coming, how can I achieve full functionality of Bridge CS5?
    Than you in advance for your input,
    Bernd Rummel

    Hi Omke,
    I did download and install the Photoshop CS5 upgrade by April. Since the Output to Web Gallery pane was not there at the Output workspace as well as all Sartup Scripts are missing at Bridge Preferences, I completely reformatted (actually changed the partitions) and reinstalled OSX 10.6.3, my 17" Book came with. Than I upgraded to OSX 10.6.4.
    Now, before doing (screwing up) anything else, I installed Acrobat 9 and run the rather lengthy process of installing each and every upgrade to the latest version. Than I installed InDesign CS4 (version 6) and upgraded this. Finally I installed Photioshop CS5, only to still have the Startup Scripts and subsequently the output to web gallery pane missing. Of course, also the Twitter and Facebook stuff is not there. However, this is not my concern since I do not use them.
    The upgrade to Bridge 4.0.2 didn't change anything, so didn't todays upgrade to Photoshop 12.0.1.
    Please note that I do not use the CS Suite but upgrade Adobe Acrobat, InDesign and Photoshop individually, which used to work fine for many years. And so I have Bridge CS4 and Bridge CS5 installed side by side. At the CS4 version the Startup Scripts and Output to Web Gallery does work as expected the CS5 version of Bridge is short of both. This shouldn't happen, since I installed CS5 Photoshop over Bridge CS4.
    Actually two weeks back I tied to un-install both the CS4 Bridge as well as the CS5 Photoshop, and than to just install Photoshop CS5 without InDesign with Bridge CS4 being installed. The Startup Scripts and Output to Web Gallery wasn't there either.
    Do you think I can get an other Photoshop CS5 softcopy somewhere that makes my serial number as well as the output to web gallery work? This would turn me back to be a happy photoshopper that I am since version 2.5... when I switched from Cibachrome in darkroom to Photoshop on Mac now about 16 years back.
    I look forward to your input.

  • PDF output vs. RTF Output

    I have a few form fields in my template which say only display this line if the data exists. When I output the report as PDF the lines with no data are hidden as I'd expect. When I output as RTF the lines are still there.
    Also, unticking the 'Allow row to break across pages' tickbox in the table properties prevents table rows from splitting between pages in PDF output, but not in RTF output.
    Am I just missing something basic about the difference between what you can do with the two formats? Or do I need to do something else to get the RTF to work as I'd expect.
    Thanks,
    Ben

    I got it

  • Reports 6.0 Portrait vs Landscape in RTF output

  • Report6 & Patch3: RTF-Output TRUNCATED

    Hi,
    I'm facing the following problem:
    When generating a RTF-report, the rtf output is truncated
    when viewed in MS Word97.
    The readme.doc (included with the 'patch3' package)
    references that kind of problem as follows:

    the problem still exists.

    Which of the three problems mentioned is the
    bug? Or is it all of them?
    #1 - Could you be more specific about the
    margin problem? I haven't had any trouble;
    but then I expect a slight (<1/8") variation.
    #2 - I think this goes with #3. Since the
    Oracle RTF is specifying exact locations of
    each text box, modifying the page would mess
    that up. But that's a guess. Hmm, I think
    I'll try to figure out what in the file is
    disabling page setup.
    Note that MSWord doesn't like borders around
    text boxes - if you save the Oracle RTF from
    Word, it ~doubles the text fields but
    ~quintuples the graphics. For a large file,
    eschew and beware graphics as much as you
    can. (One of my reports was 78MB _before_
    Word got to it, with graphics. With much
    reduced graphics, "only" 19MB.)
    PDF is all very well as long as you don't
    need non-English characters. Our db is
    Unicode, and we want to display Cyrillic.
    I've managed to convince PDF to do that, but
    it wasn't pretty. Oracle RTF doesn't do
    Unicode correctly either, but we added a
    post-processor to correct it. Voila,
    Cyrillic and other non-Latin characters.

  • Nested Tables Repeat Header Row RTF Output Not Working v5.6.2(PDF does)

    All,
    Has anyone used nested tables in heading rows where they are set to repeat nested table header row across page breaks for RTF output ? This seems to work for PDF generation (line breaking enforcement doesn't) but I don't even get RTF Header ROWS indicated in my RTF output document. I have enabled them in my RTF template for the outer table row plus the inner nested table. Is this possible for RTF output or have I not indicated something in my RTF template or grouping clause ??

  • Connected Query no RTF output?

    Hi guys...I've just written my 1st Connected Query linking to an RTF report definition. I cannot seem to get any RTF output after the app engine has completed. I have a custom run control that schedules the app engine which has the peoplcode to call and execute the connected query. All I get is an XML file on the Process Monitor View Trace/Log. No RTF output. Help....what am I missing here? Thanks so much for any help!

    i think you have run the code to generate the XML file from your connected query...
    check the following things
    1. Check the Report definition is defined or not for the file that you want generate.
    2. if its defined check the RTF template is present or not.
    3.Check your code in Appengine whether you have mentioned the Report Definition and template name,
