Sick of 4 LTE issues. No resolution..

Live in southeast. This issue with 4 LTE has been going on for
several months. CS simply states there are issues with the network and they are
being addressed, but that’s all I get. 4 LTE phones simply 'drop' the data
network, no 4G, doesn’t even drop to 3G, just drops and the little icon
disappears or you get 'network not available' on the phone. I have traveled as
far as 150 miles away with same issues. I have 4 LTE phones. Diff models.. They
all do it. Mine probably drops 15-20 times a day. I have talked with 4 fellow
VZW customers, various models, they complain about it also. Signal strength seems to make no
diff. Try to book a plane, hotel room, pay a bill, whatever... The stupid
connections drops out frequently during the process. I have had 3 occasions
where I was doubled charged because the connection dropped out, I refreshed the
page when the connection came back up, and got charged again... This is ridiculous.
My kids even gripe about theirs. I have even taken photos of mine dropping out
( from 4bars to icon disappear) to VZ and all they say is they’re working on it
(employees say theirs does it too, that 'Its the network'.. Anyone have anymore
info on this??

Thanks for the response. Yes, it was probably stupid to refresh the page, sometimes its not a page but a mobile app. I actually one time hit the pay button when it dropped out. Nothing happened, No error, no message.. so I hit again when the icon came back. What was funny is I was paying VZ with their mobile account app. They promptly refunded my money.. I live around the Montgomery AL area and have seen this problem east to Lagrange, Ga ( and a little further) and north to Birmingham. Have not tried west of Montgomery. Whats weird is the problem does not occur when I travel south to the gulf area. A couple of weeks ago I went to Panama City, FL and had NO dropouts for an entire week, when I drove back north it started happening again. My wife went to Mobile, AL and had no dropouts for 4 days. Hard to explain. THats why I figure its not a phone issue..

Photoshop CS4 Extended, issues with resolution and font sizes on Mac

I have Photoshop CS4 Extended, which worked fine on my old 15 inch Macbook Pro, I think it was 2011 and had high definition display.
I now have a new 15 inch 'late 2013' Macbook Pro with retina display (2880 x 1800), and OS 10.9.4
I have 2 problems:
1) Using photoshop now, the resolution is a lot worse than with my old computer, even though my screen is higher resolution.
For example, the images themselves are worse resolution on my display, far less crisp and more pixelated than any of my other programs. And even the windows such as 'save as...' screens are terribly pixelated also. Is there a way to fix this?
2) When using the type tool, I cannot find how to change the size of the font. There used to be numbers which I could change, and also select the font type, both on the top menu bar always visible. Now there is not anymore. What there is there at the top, is what looks to be a bar on top of another bar. The top layer bar is on the left and reaches about one third of the way across the top, and I can drag it by its corner so it can extend more, but not less. It looks like there are things behind it which I cannot see, because it is over the top of them. Perhaps the text size and font options are stuck behind that. What can I do?

Hi JJMack, you said "Seems like you want a low resolution display hook and external display to it." I do not know what that means. I did a google search for "low resolution display hook" and it came up with zero results. Also I do not have an external display, only my laptop.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this issue? I would greatly appreciate any solution.

Sick Quota validity/ded. issue

Can you guys please help me with this issue..
we have only one sick quota and , and its validity periods are set as year to year (validity beginning of year and deduction as end of year)..
but, we have 2 rules for new hires... for one group.. they should get quota on hire date valid thru end of year.. and for other group the quota should start after 3 months of service to end of the year. all other people with more than 1.5 yrs of service will have the quota validity and deduction dates from beginning of the year.
so how to have different validity/ded periods of one quota type..

Run the Programme RPTQTA00 once only when he comepletes the 3 months of service
for the last one also we can do same as manually

DPI issues. Resolution for background layer. Possible to change DPI settings per layer?

I have 8 layers.
My Background layer is a 800kb JPEG. When moved to Photoshop it becomes 30MB.
I cant figure out any possible way to keep this background layer size small.
I would like to lower the resolution, or quality, or anything of JUST THE BACKGROUND... but then my entire image changes quality.
How can I fix this???
Attached is JPEG. When I move into my existing 7inch by 7inch canvas as a new layer, it adds 30MB to the file size.

I understand what you mean about the 12.5MB, but as soon as you add an additional layer with even a small image... it balloons the size of the file.
Here is how you can duplicate my issue -
1) Drag over my background jpeg file as a Background into Photoshop. Save as PSD File. 12.5MB
2) Open a separate PSD File and drag over a layer with an image or just the image (i used a 500kb image within a PSD file). Save. File size doubles or triples!
3) You can then delete the background... and Save again. You are now left with a +-500kb PSD file. Crazy!?
The math just doesnt add up.
By the way ---
I was in CMYK mode, if I switch to RGB mode then flatten the file, I think this maintains resolution but loses layers.
New file size is significantly lower.
I was sending off my complete PSD files but I think I should Save As and then flatten each file before sending. I assume this is the only way.
Once I flatten though... there is no turning back right?

Multi monitor issues with resolution(?)

At a customer I have got a really strange and annoying problem. The customer has got a Hyper-V VM with 2012 R2 Server as a RDS server aka Terminal Server.
One user has got issues with his multi monitor setup. The connection settings seems to be OK. It is set to full screen and the checkbox for the multi monitor configuration is enabled. Theoretically this works because the user sees a correct setup with one
primary display and one secondary display. The settings itself are correct.
1. Primary display: 1680*1050
2. Secondary display: 27" 1920*1080
The display settings on the client are nearly the same except that the numbers of the two monitors are different (those numbers you get when you click identify at the resolution change window). On the Windows 7 client the primary display
number 2 and the 27" has got the number 1. On the Terminal Server the primary display has got the number 1 and the 27" display has got the number 2. But the corresponding resolution at the display number is correct.
Now the problem. Everything seems fine, the desktop is expended. But when the user is "touching" the top or bottom edge of the screen the display is scrolling (in full screen) - like in a 3D game scrolling over a map. The user told me that
both screens are scrolling equally at the same time. I am not sure but the user told me that if he is going to the bottom the CLIENT task bar appears. Changing the task bar of the client to fixed the user told me that the task bar will always show up. - Strange
that CTRL + ALT + BREAK does not work.
I tried to press CTRL + ALT + BREAK twice, changing the resolution to a fixed value and back to full screen again, changing the primary display to the new 27" monitor, adding smart sizing:i:1 to rdp file and upgrading the Intel HD
4600 laptop graphic drivers (must be downloaded from Lenovo :/). NOTHING helped :(.
But this strange behavior does not exist on the client. Opening two programs (simple notepad e.g.) on each display and maximize them and moving the mouse the screen borders won't show this problem. It only exist on the remote session.
Now the "funny" part. If I connect with Team Viewer to the client the problem disappears as long as I am connected. If I disconnect the problem shows up again.

This is most likely a problem with the local machine's graphics driver and monitor configuration. I would suggest trying different things like removing and re-installing the display adapter and its drivers, removing the second monitor/restarting/adding
the second monitor back, adjusting the multi-monitor settings in display properties (changing between extending the desktop to the second monitor and not), undocking/restarting/docking, changing between different modes using Fn key on laptop (if laptop), etc.
The behavior under Team Viewer is likely because the graphics configuration is different when the driver is active.
I wish I could give you more precise instructions on how to resolve the issue. I have seen this behavior (panning desktop, multi-monitor config not exactly right) probably 3 times over the last 5 years, always with a laptop, and I had to "play"
with the settings before it finally went back to normal. The instances I have seen it occur did not involve Remote Desktop specifically.

IPhone LTE Issue

I know this has been discussed about before, but I'm also concerned with the issue. You see, I have an iPhone 5C (a 3G mobile phone) with Verizon Wireless. Sometimes the LTE doesn't seem to work even though it's enabled (as indicated by the left picture), but sometimes it does (as indicated by the right picture).
So why does the LTE keep turning on and off? Is it because it doesn't work in certain locations or what?

Yes, it is most likely because you are leaving LTE coverage areas. You can go to a Verizon corporate store and have them swap the nanoSIM if you want.

Small DNS issue; www resolution

I'm investigating a few small issues with our server and started with DNS. When I type "host X5.testdomain.com", I get the following response:
X5.testdomain.com is an alias for testdomain.com
testdomain.com has address 216.58.x.x
testdomain.com mail is handled by 10 filter01.mailISP.net
So, why isn't this resolving to the server, instead of the outside IP, which is where the companies website is externally hosted?
Now, a little self-confession. I'm sure it has to do with there is no forwarding in the DNS section of Server Admin, so the only way I could set it up so that employees could get to the company website was to list "www" and the external IP in the "Machines" tab of DNS setup. Was this correct?

Have you configured it to do so? Do you have an 'x5' host entry in your domain's zone? What does it point to. In short, why do you expect this to point to some external address (other than the external address it's already pointing to, that is)?

That's correct. since you're hosting testdomain.com you need to list every hostname in that domain, regardless of whether it's internal or external.

A windows 7 text issue and resolution, missing text found.

So one of our editors suddenly noticed that she was missing portions of text in slides. Doing a slide by slide comparison, I determined that it was displaying only a portion of the text, the rest had shifted out of view, but was still in the text box. Both said they were using Arial 15 as font, but one was visibly larger.
Determined that the user has chosen medium font size (125 percent of normal) in her Font settings in Windows 7. This upscales the fonts, but no other elements, and even thugh it reports as Arial 15, it is more like Arial 18 in size and thus shifted the text. Reverting to Small font (100 percent, default) resolved the problem. Changed her screen resolution so that all elements are changed in size to resolve the usage issue.
Figured this might be of interest to the community and hope it saves some headaches.

DBLHelper issue - Name resolution

I have an issue with the DNS Name resolution. Unfortunately I have the red frown:( next to my subscriber.
However, I can ping the subscriber from the publisher with the hostname, and vice versa. I confirmed that all host entries are present as well. Anyone have an idea what else to check for?

Ok, normally check the lmhosts and host files:
Then do a nbtstat -R and ipconfig /flushdns
If you have already tried Reinitialize option in DBLhelper u may try it manually.

When will officially unlocked iphones be available (LTE issue)

I know iphones are unlocked now. And from what I understand you can go into an Apple store and get a contract-free iphone6 which would work in other countries. But I heard/read somewhere that although that was the case, these 'unofficially unlocked iphones' would have an issue where they could only connect via 4G and NOT via LTE in other countries' cellular networks. Apple was said to be getting ready to release 'truly unlocked' iphones that would work on 4G & LTE in any country.
Does anyone know when that will be?

The N900 just had its soft launch last week, so it should be hitting the shelves pretty soon. Plus it's already listed on Nokia Malaysia's site.

MTS Russia LTE issue

I have MTS Russia sim-card with LTE support.
If i use this sim-card in iphone 5S RU - LTE works great. I see LTE enable option in Settings -> Cellular
If i triy to install sim-card in iphone 6 RU - LTE option is not available! If i try to install in iphone 6 RU sim-card from another operator like Megafon - LTE option is enable and work.
Also, i tried to check for updates in iTunes (latest version). iTunes said to me that "you need to update career settings..." and i press "Update". iTunes after give me message that all is up to date and ok. If i after disconnect iphone 6 from PC or MAC and connect again in iTunes i see again message about "update carrier settings". I press "update" - all is ok. And each time then start itunes on PC or MAC i always see this "carrier settings update".
MTS Russia said me that "we have LTE support for all needed bands. but i think that they lie: )
What i can do to update carrier settings correctly to see LTE option?
I already tried to restore to factory defaults, reset network settings.
May be somebody give me .ipcc for MTS Russia ios8 download link?

Graphics card issue/display resolution with 30" display

I've got a PowerMac G5 with a ATI Radeon 9800TX graphics card. I recently bought a 30" Apply Cinema Display but I can't get the display resolution on the computer to go any higher than 1280x800. I've read through some of the other postings and tired moving the cable from one DVI port to the other but that didn't work. If I don't get this thing working properly soon...Apple is going to get this monitor back.

Sometimes if I reboot it several times it works. When it works it's great resolution. The problem is every time you power down it's a battle for the computer to boot up. So, I took the card out until I can figure out why it's causing problems during start up. I followed the instructions to the letter when installing the card. First the software, then remove/replace the card.
Any suggestions as to why the computer sometimes boots up and other times not?
Probably a bad graphics card. Some versions of that card had that problem with some G4s, but worked with G5s. Maybe the current version fails on both G4s and G5s.

HH5 wifi speed fading issue - any resolution?

Having trawled the forum here, it does seem that there is a recurring techinical problem with wifi speeds slowing over a time period, or drop-outs, that require a re-boot to solve.
It is a wifi issue, not wired or line problems.
It still occurs having unsynced the 5 and 2.4Ghz and given them different SSIDs
And Smart setup is off.
And automatic channel selection is off.
This does seem to be specific hardware issue with the HH5, and others before it.
Has anyone found a succesful route to either get it replaced or get it fixed?

no it won't - just result in a lower speed until the DLM sees line stable again and increases it which may be a few weeks

Poor Service Experience and pending issue needs resolution

Terrible Customer Service Experience: Starting on 1/14 when I called the Dbulin, OH location I was met with rude and uncaring customer service personnel: Dashawnaa, Daniel and Brian. Most recently Brian placed me on hold without allowing me to talk and I have been on hold for 15 minutes without him getting back on the line (he said it would be 5 minutes). All in I have spent almost 2 hours on the phone today! I found an issue with my bill that goes back 2 years for a service I never 'Authorized' but was told I was ignorant about my bill and that I did 'Authorize' it despite the simple fact that I NEVER 'Authorized' the service. I plan on leaving Verizon as soon as possible if not sooner if I don't get some help on this. In the end it is between $80-85 I am looking for a correction on my bill for two applications I did NOT authorize. Feedback will be filed anywhere possible to warn others of the poor service!

Please read this post then provide some details. What printer model? What operating system? Are there any error messages on the printer or computer screen?
This likely has nothing to do with the color cartridges.
