Transportation of Process chains

Hi Experts,
Earlier we haven't transported info packages along with inforsources & sourcesystems from dev --> production. So we directly created info packages at production.
Now my question is i have created one test process chain in developement. I would like to transport to the production. suggest me the best possible way to create process chain in dev and tranport to the production.

Option 1:
You can directly create the process chain in Production. Most of the times ppl do have access to create a process chain in Prod. Kindly check whether you have the authorization to do so.
Option 2:-
I did not suggest to delete the old info-packages in QA and Prod. Let them continue to exist but you may not use them once the process chain is in place. You create the process chain, test it and move it up to Prod. I dont' think the new infopackages will hamper your delta load. The delta is not dependent on the infopackage.
If I were you, I would try the second option and if it does not work during testing then go for the first option.

I want to transport a process chain but while doing so it is asking for “package” name. I do not have authorization to tcode SE21 to create a Package. I checked with ABAPer and he also does not have access to SE21.
Is it mandatory to transport a process chain only via a “package”? Are there alternative methods available which you can suggest?

Yes, this is the first process chain we are transporting.
I tried maintaining the paramters in RSTPRFC with the below settings..
Client: BW client 001
Destination: TPBWMANDTRFC
User: ALEREMOTE
PWD: ************
I want to know whether the details of teh destination are correct. If so, are these settings need to be maintained in QA and Prod systems as well?

Warnings while transporting a process chain

Dear all,
I am getting the below warning message when I am transporting my process chain into Quality. Due to this, the PC is now in inactive version in the target system.
The logs shows the below message
No destination maintained in target client 001 -> Not activated
Message no. RSPC085
Diagnosis
When activating a process chain, this is checked and scheduled. Both the checking of a process chain and its scheduling require that
1. the function is executed in the target client of the import and
2. the user executing the function has the appropriate authorizations.
This is usually the case for the BW background user
The function can be executed in the target client if an RFC logon occurs in the target client. An RFC destination must be predefined for this purpose. This destination is used for logon to the target client from client 000 during import postprocessing.
This destination does not exist in this system.
System Response
The process chain will not be activated, which means that it will not be checked, scheduled, or saved in an active version. The process chain will only be adjusted to the local situation (for example, key changes with objects that are dependent on the source system), and will not be saved in a modified version.
Procedure
Create a destination for the import postprocessing.
Can some one please help on this.

Reverse transport of process chains ( Quality to Dev ) ?

HI all ,
i need to transport the process chains from Quality to development .
i have started collecting the process chains by using only necessary objects as grouping ,
here i am getting all the objcets like DTP , INfopakage , infoobjces , etc and Source system also .
i dont want to transport all the objests & just want to transport only process chains .
can any one plz tell me how to proceed with this .

Please check the steps mentioned by Kamal,
Source system conversion after transport - RSA1->Tools->Conversion of Logical System Names.
Check the thread,
No Source system exist
Also in your case you are trying to move some objects from Quality to Development.
So kindly check with Basis also if they have maintained proper transport paths.
Regarding BDLS runs, during system copy one bw system will be copied on different BW system having different R3 system connection. In such cases basis does several BDLS runs where the target BW systems will have transformations of source BW system (source system). Once the basis completed BDLS runs the source system of source BW system will be changed to target source system in target BW system.
Please check with Basis if you are doing a system copy.

(Urgent)Transports of Process Chains

Hi,
I have transported the process chain to Quality.
In Development we tested and it worked fine.
But in Quality it failed saying "no variant found for a process compression".
Help me out.

Hi Indira,
Check out whether all the objects included in the process chain are also transported to Quality server.
The error might have occured becuase the corresponding object of a process in the process chain might not be active or missing in the quaality system.

Schedule options while transporting in Process chains

I have created a Process Chain which is scheduled for Immediate processing.
I have to transport the Process Chain to Production System, where the process chain should run Daily. So should I change the schedule options before transporting or should the schedule options be changed in Production system.
Will the schedule options also be transported to target system while transporting?

After importing into Production, it will not be triggered automatically. We need to exexute it in production manually.
We have option to change the System settings ,to change the Process chain in Production.So that we can change the schedule options as per our requirements directly in Production. This setting is there in Trasnport connector screen.And this needs to be done in Production.

Error by transporting a Process Chain / Strange

Hello Gurus,
i am confronted with a strange situation which i could not understand.
We transported a PC into the Quality and it was ok.
Some adjustments were done:
1. the developer delete the DTP in the process chain before deleting in the dataflow.
    According to my info he save those objects under a request.
2. He created a neue DTP and save it in a Transport Request.
3. In the 3. request we save the whole PC.
We transported 1 with record code 4 but the DTP was not deleted in the QA system
We transported 2 to do the correction with return code 8.
We transported 3 with return code 4.
The old DTP still remain in the PC in the QA.
By checking the flow in QA, i found there are two DTPs and in Dev another DTP. That means 3 different DTPs.
Could you please explain what exactly happen?
How to delete the two DTPs in the QA before transporting the whole PC once again?

Here are the things that I can think of after reading your post..
We transported 1 with record code 4 but the DTP was not deleted in the QA system
>> Deleting a DTP in process chain will not delete the DTP from the Data flow.
     The DTP will be there in data flow only the varaint calling the DTp will get deleted from process chain.
     This is why you are seeing this DTp in data flow in quality system
We transported 2 to do the correction with return code 8.
>> In this TP you might have transported PC with the new DTP.
      But the new DTP was not moved to quality system causing error.
We transported 3 with return code 4.
>> In this TP you might have transported the new DTP.
Please check what objects were present in eact Transport request and sequence of transports.
You can check the transport request contents by using T code se01.

Error after transporting a process chain

I am facing an issue regarding remote process chain variant, as i have added it in an existing process chain, Now its throwing an error in Quality and the changes are also not visible..Please help me out in finding a solution..

when i am transporting it to Quality or production system, that variant for remote process chain is not visible. I have tried it many times. Connectivity between the systems are fine.
I have kept APO System as destination
And Destination for callback BW System..
Please let me know if i am wrong..

Transport issue- Process chain

Hi Folks,
I am facing a issue when transporting process chain,
Am transporting a set of process chain using transport connection a) when I choose all the objects and create a request and save it, I get a message saying ' specify request', however the request is generated.
b) When I transport the request I get an error as " Source system does not exist".
I checked conversion of logical systems and RSLOGSYSMAP system, I dont find any issue.
Would appreciate quick response.

My settings are fine,
I tried removing the info package and do, no much of a change, however afte specify request is continously checked I get the errors as " Errors occurred when saving dependent object R3TR/PROG/ZMAJ_SUIVI of RSPV ABAP MAJ_SU",
I guess its related to process variant, but as per my understanding the process chains can be transported with Variants,
Any help ??

Transportation of process chains with ABAP variants

I can transport them, however when transporting them, I overwrite the already existing variants, which is very unfortunate...

Warning on transportation of Process Chains

Hi everyone,
After making some changes to the Process chains in BI DEV Server, I transported them, to QUA Server. However, In the QUA Server, i found that the Changes have not been reflected.
Then I checked the Request in the Target System, I found the following messages:
        No destination maintained in target client 100 -> Not activated
                                  and
         Version 'M' of chain XXX was saved without checking.
I checked few of the treads in the forum & found that xxx Destination has to be maintained in RSTPRFC for xxx Client.
I am not sure which client & Destination have to maintained in RSTPRFC.
I know of the Standard FM RSPC_CHAIN_ACTIVATE_REMOTE to Activate them manually in the Target system.
However, I am looking at how to make them activated at the time of Transportation itself.
Also, the Client is locked & i don't have authorization to activate them manually in RSPC itself.
Any suggestions please?

Hi Srikar,
RSTPRFC creates a destination into the BW-standard-client with the BW-Background user (usually called BWREMOTE or ALEREMOTE).
This destination then is used to activate the chain in the BW-standard client remotely from the client 000.
Please refer to SAP Note 659160 for further details.

Transport of process chain

Hi!
We have built process chains with AND and EXOR services in our development BW 3.5 but we are not able to transport them to our QA BW.
When I try to create a transport from one of these process chain we get a message "Meldungsnr. RSO252" for the types ISIP , RSPV , RSPT.
I cannot find the reason for that - does anybody have a solution.

I have transported Process chain from Development system to Quality system,but i cannot see my transported process chain in BWQ, i did't get any problems while transporting request from development to Quality, in STMS also succesfully imported.but my problem is why i cannot see my process chain in RSPC of Quality system.

Hi,
You can use T-code se10, searched the request numbers by userID. Then, you can check the request with your Process Chain to see if you have included all process variant and elements for your process chain.
In my experience , if you collected elements of process chain by Transport Connection and transported, you should be able to see everything of transported chain on QAS/PRD.

Transport of process chains

I added new mail messages to my Meta chain in each local chain process type. will I have to transport the entire process chain again the underlying process types
or only the mail message variants are fine to be sent to QA and PRD

Hi,
You can move the variants only but its always recommended to move the entire chains to next systems. But make sure that in case if the process chain was included in any of the previous transports, then that transport should have been released.
Also while collecting make sure that you are not including any objects like Data sources etc. Also in case if the chain is already in production then no need o worry. But in case if the chain is being transported for first time then do use the option "Start using a Metachain or API" or set the schedule date to future date else the chain starts running automataically as soon as the chain is moved to production.

EXOR in transport requests process chains

Hi gurus,
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to save EXOR process variants of process chains in transport requests? If so, how can it be done?
I am able to save AND process type in workbench requests but it doesn't work for EXOR. I have checked in Transport Connection tab in rsa1 and there seems to be no option available to collect the EXOR variant.
Please help.

Please try collecting again iin transport, If not then please try collecting the variants manually:
Follow the below steps:
1) Open you chain in RSPC1.
2) Click on Transport symbol present at the top.
3) You will be routed to the RSA1 screen. Click on Package and check if the EXOR variant is selected or not. In case not select it & then click on transport objects.
