Web services using OIM Client API.
Hi All,
decided to try out some webservices talking to OIM via the client api. have a few questions.
is it better if the webservice app server and the OIM ejb app server are the same? i.e. weblogic.
I noticed in some of the code that configurationclient is using "web-client" rather than "Discovery.Coreserver" as the first param. what's the difference?
Im currently using tomcat5 and java5 with xfire. and I think tomcat is not liking the weblogic jar. I could swap out the app server but would like to keep using java5 and xfire if that's possible.
curious to hear abut other setups.
Thanx.
Fred
I have a couple of clients using web services to expose OIM APIs. The most common approaches is to either use Apache Axis or the web service module in Websphere.
Perhaps you should try migrating to Apache Axis if your application server doesn't like the Weblogic jars?
I personally like Axis but that is mostly because I have used Axis a couple of times.
Best regards
/M

Authenticating to weblogic web service using a client cert with webserver
I am trying to think of how to authenticate a client to a weblogic web service
using a client certificate. The wrinkle is that a Web Server (iis or whatever)
will be handling the ssl part and forwarding non-secure to weblogic. The cert
will still be accessable in the request using: HttpServletRequest req.getAttribute("javax.net.ssl.peer_certificates).
At this point it is not clear to me what I can do. When does CertAuthenticator
get called? Can I even use it? Will I have to write my own version of the weblogic.soap.server.servlet.StatelessBeanAdapter
class?
Any help will be appreciated, even explaining why it can't be done.
Thanks,

How to Serialize/Deserialize Beans with Web Services using DII client
Dear All;
I had developed a web serivce by Oracle JDeveloper [J2EE 1.4 (JAX-RPC)] and trying to invoke methods within through DII client using Apache Axis 1.
The Beans I am using are structured as follows:
public class InBean {
public InBean() {
private int x;
private float y;
public setters/getters for x
public setters/getters for y
public class OutBean {
public OutBean() {
private String inString;
private String outString;
public setters/getters for inString
public setters/getters for outString
The (InBean) is used as method input and the (OutBean) is used as method output.
The problems I am facing are as follows:
[1] How to serialize/desrialize the Beans as they are not registered with Apache Axis 1?
[2] How to invoke the Beans using Dynamic client DII and not classic proxy and Stubs?
[3] How to create the Beans using WSD2Java of the Apache Axis 1 ?
In case you have any helping URL's, Book names or sample code, please attach as they will be very helpful.
Thanks alot for the help.-----

Web service using an external api (WSDL)
Hi,
Need to use a web service from google. I have the wsdl file with me.
1. Since I am not clear on web services - need a step - by - step procedure on how to use this wsdl file in a WDA app.
WDSL link: http://api.google.com/GoogleSearch.wsdl
2. I also need a really simple tutorial on how to use external web services so that i can implement more of them into my application.

In Web Dynpro ABAP there is nothing special about calling a web service. Unlike WD Java, there are not dedicated model object types in WD ABAP. WD ABAP simply has the ability to interact with other ABAP development object types. You can call function modules, ABAP classes, even modules in old dynpro apps.
So calling the webservice from ABAP therefore is just the process of generating the ABAP Proxy Class. This is the same process regardless of if you want to use this proxy class from WDA or any other type of ABAP development object. You can then call the proxy class from WDA just like any other type of ABAP class. There is a service wizard option in later support package levels that includes an option for ABAP Proxy classes - although it doesn't generate the proxy class it just generates the code and context for the call to an already existing proxy class. The service wizards in WD ABAP are not required however. They are just shortcut code generators and often can't even generate a complete context for a complex web service proxy - so expect to do some manual adjustment after running the wizard.

Calling a web-service using JAX-WS client on the browser
Hi,
I created a basic web-service using netbeans/glassfish, which can be successfully called from a JavaFX application running stand-alone.
But when I try to run the same JavaFX application on a browser, the web-service call does not work, and it is hard to get any information on where it is failing.
I can see the error is a Throwable (not an Exception), but the message is null.
What are the restrictions on being able to call a webservice using the JAX-WS libraries? Are there security issues? I am not using the javafx HTTP libraries.
Also, if Java1.6u10 is available on the machine running the browser, do I still need to package all the JAX-WS libraries for the client?
Any help is appreciated, even if it is just about how to track down the problem.Thank you very much for responding.
There was no error due to WebService. Actually, I was using xmlbeans and I did not put those xmlbeans jar files into appropriate place. That is what caused the problem. I have solved it now and it is working fine.
I put those xmlbeans jar files into my war file. It is working. Earlier, I had put them in tomcat 5.5's shared/lib directory. It was not working.
Thank you once again for replying.

Hi all,
is it possible to use HFM CLient API libraries from FDM Scripts or just HFM Web API?
Thanks"Unreadable" squares are probably an indication that you are seeing non-printable characters due to the fact that the data is in one format (i.e. Unicode) and you are attempting to treat it as a another data format (ASCII). You may need to instruct the function to return data in a particular type or cast the result so that you are processing it properly.
In regards to the wrapper, I think he's referring to the fact that vbscript doesn't support UDT's. (User Defined Types more commonly referred to as structs) You don't really need to wrap the API itself, rather create a COM object (or other) that would expose a property for each struct field. In the vbscript you would then create an instance to the object and use that with the API call.
In regards to webservices, HFM doesn't have much out of the box. The comment was to create your own, etc. About the only thing you have going for you OOTB is Smartview. Smartview doesn't technically have a web service; however, if you monitor the data that goes in and out of Smartview it is dirt simple. For more than one project, I've taken advantage of Smartview as a means to get quick and dirty data out of HFM. -
Cant Call Web service Through OIM adapter
Hi, I am trying to call A web service using A Axis2 client in Java , but i get a error saying "input message for a required feild is null".
However if i try to use a non Axis2 client then it works fine ..
Please suggest any solutions?I will suggest you first test your OIM adapter code into your IDE or WL server:
If you try using your Eclipse or JDeveloper can you call WS? Into JDeveloper you can tes using: Right click into WS class and 'Creating a WS Client' or just running a 'Test WebSevices' option. Just simulate using JDeveloper+OIM codes and libs it should work.
Right now I am doing this above and I am able to test my OIM WS code fine.
Another way is deploy your WS OIM code into WebLogic. Using WebLogic 'development mode' you should see two links: A service called 'Test Client' that you can test it and second one with just WSDL link.
I hope this helps,

Web Service, SSL and Client Authentication
I tried to enable SSL with client authentication over a web service. I am using App Server 10.1.3.4.
The test page requires my certificate (firefox asks me to choose the certificate) the response page of the web service returns this error:
java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Bad response: 405 Method Not Allowed
Has anyone used web services with SSL client authentication?
Any clue why?

Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC) - Web Service using ABAP Proxy
Hi there
I am trying to consume a Web Service using ABAP Proxies. I have done the following in the system:
I configured the HTTP and HTTPS Proxy settings.
I created a package with package interfaces SAI_TOOLS and SAPPINT included under the Use Access tab.
I created the proxy classes by using the WSDL provided by the system I'm trying to interface with.
I created my HTTP destination RFC via SM59.
I configured a logical port for the proxy.
I developed the ABAP code for calling the proxy.
In the code the exception CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT gets raised with error message <b>"Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)"</b> when I call the method for passing data to the destination system in the proxy class.
I had a look at SM21 and the following message was written in the log:
<b>"SOAP Runtime: SOAP Runtime exception: 111 occurred in method XP_READ_TAG of class CL_SOAP_XP at position 1
SOAP Runtime: Exception message: Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)"</b>. I also looked at SAP Note 919886 which states that it can be dumps in the system, missing configuration or the path prefix of the RFC destination that is incorrect. I cannot find any ST22 entries. The trace file looks as follows:

It then must be something in the config. Has anyone got any idea why this message is encountered?

How to call an external web service from OIM?
Hi,
I have a question on how to call an external web service from OIM within e.g. creating user process? How should it be done; through adapter and task in the process?
Any recomendations?
Thanks in advance!it is not clear to me if you are having problems with calling java code from OIM or if the problem is the web service API.
Lets do some divide and conquer:
Can you create a simple java class that just writes a couple of lines to the log? Please attach this code to the OIM task and make sure it runs.
Once this works we can start looking at the web service call.
Best regards

Invoking web service using Weblogic Workshop (JCX)
Invoking web service using Weblogic Workshop
Posted: 5 Jan 2005 23:31 PM Reply
Hi,
I have WSDL from which I have generated a web service control (.jcx) using Weblogic Workshop.
I need to write a client which will invoke the web service using the control.
Can someone help me on how to go about this ?
BTW .. I also tried the clientgen route and tried to generated the proxy jar from the WSDL but wasn't successful because of a existing clientgen bug.
Refer bugHi,
if the consumer of the webservice is a control-aware consumer ( pageflow, control, process ) simply drag the control to this consumer and the control variable is ready for use.
if the consumer is not control-aware, try to generate a proxy using eg. the axis tool, or handcode your proxy class.
