Whats causing Input drops and overruns between 3502lap and 3750g switch?

At our HQ we have 6 3502 LAPs terminating into a 3750g switch stack. We have an issue with performance in some instances which I think is RF related, however in doing all due diligence I am looking at the Ethernet layer as well between the switch and the AP's in the area's of the performance issues.
I am seeing some Input Overruns and Input Drops on all of the AP's at the HQ location. One I am looking at now has 330 overrun and 34564 input drops. I have other remote sites and when checking those interface statistics they have 0 input drops and overruns. The other difference is that the remote sites are in flex connect mode whereas the HQ is in local mode.
Are the input drops and overruns a concern, or is it just because there's a lot more traffic at the HQ?

Doesn't look too bad on the switch, but on the cisco wireless controller for this AP in question (and others in the HQ) it shows the drops and overruns. I uploaded a picture of that screen.
If I change it to local, will it still allow other VLAN's through or would I have to change the switchport to a trunk?

What causes BUFFER GETS and PHYSICAL READS in INSERT operation to be high?

Am performing a huge number of INSERTs to a newly installed Oracle XE 10.2.0.1.0 on Windows. There is no SELECT statement running, but just INSERTs one after the other of 550,000 in count. When I monitor the SESSION I/O from Home > Administration > Database Monitor > Sessions, I see the following stats:
BUFFER GETS = 1,550,560
CONSISTENT GETS = 512,036
PHYSICAL READS = 3,834
BLOCK CHANGES = 1,034,232
The presence of 2 stats confuses. Though the operation is just INSERT in database for this session, why should there be BUFFER GETS of this magnitude and why should there by PHYSICAL READS. Aren't these parameters for read operations? The BLOCK CHANGES value is clear as there are huge writes and the writes change these many blocks. Can any kind soul explain me what causes there parameters to show high value?
The total columns in the display table are as follows (from the link mentioned above)

What does CONSISTENT GETS and CONSISTENT CHANGES mean in a typical INSERT operation? And does someone know which all tables are involved in getting these values?

PGA is used for internal stuff, such as sorting, which is also used in determing the layout of secondary facets such as indexes and uniqueness. Total PGA usage varies in size based on the number of connections and required operations.
And then there's the SGA. That needs to cover the space requirement for the data dictionary, any/all stored procedures and SQL statements being run, user security and so on. As well as the buffer blocks which represent the tablespace of the database. Since it is rare that the entire tablespace will fit into memory, stuff needs to be swapped in and out.
So - put too much space pressure on the poor operating system before starting the database, and the SGA may be squeezed. Put that space pressure on the system and you may enbd up with swapping or paging.
This is one of the reasons Oracle professionals will argue for dedicated machines to handle Oracle software.

What causes unexpected shutdown and restarts

ok last night my IPhone was really hot so I looked at it and it said 20% battery and it gave me the full battery sing. So I unplugged it than I shut it down for like 30 min and turn back on than I start charging it and talking on Skype with it. So before I went to bed. I shut it down and then when I woke up this morning I went to go plug it in. Than I got the Apple Logo when you first turn it on and then like 15 to 20 sec latter it turn off for no reason and it repeats that over again. I can’t get pass the Apple logo without restarting.

What causes iCloud duplicates (and which to keep?)

Since the iTunes 11 upgrade, everything I've purchased from the iTunes Store appears twice in iTunes - one version with an iCloud icon overlay, and one without.
I do NOT use or subscribe to iTunes Match (I'd love to, but the 25k track cap is far too small).
I can right-click the non-iCloud version and do Reveal in Finder. Right-clicking the iCloud version does not have a Reveal in Finder option. In other words, there's only one copy of each duplicated track stored on my computer, and another one in the cloud.
In most cases, both versions have the same bitrate, but in other cases they do not.
I understand the Find Duplicates feature will be restored soon, and that's good news. When it does re-appear, I'll want to remove all these dupes... but which version should I keep? And shouldn't iCloud+iTunes be resolving this automatically?

BTW, this problem also affects my "Unplayed" smart playlist, since it now shows a ton of stuff unplayed that isn't (it considers the iCloud versions unplayed).

I have found a temporary solution, allowing the previous version of iTunes (v. 11.1.3 (x64) in my case) to be re-installed. It will allow you to re-establish use of iTunes until the Apple software engineers fix the most recent disasterous upgrade (v. 11.1.4). I am trying to open a Discoverer workbook and am getting the error message "This workbook cannot be expanded". What causes this error and how can I fix it or work around?

Can you just click 'open' to run the report without exanding it to see the worksheet?
I have heard of this before and one work around was to just open it and it would work anyway. This was a couple of years ago and not sure if the same 'feature' still exists?

Hi Samir,
In almost all scenarios, its recommended to have 'dot1q' encapsulation and a static trunk config 'switchport mode trunk'. Matching the native VLAN on both sides is required and will be VLAN1 by default.
When configuring trunks, you should be mindful of VTP, trunk and STP states. Reviewing the following for mismatches between your Cat6K will help:
- show vtp status
- show interfaces trunk
- show spanning-tree
In terms of HSRP, it is also recommended to run HSRP active in the same location as STP Root to avoid any asynchronous routing problems.

Both are same. Rebuilding an index drops and re-creates the index.

You downloaded a profile from somewhere. If it's not one you want or need, delete it.

What's causing a 35 second pause between post screen and Win XP

Running stock settings , no OC, 1 PATA drive, and the system is quite stable. Neo 4 Plat MB.
I don't think this was a problem just after my initial XP SP2 install, but now I get a 35 second delay when the XP screen comes up , before it loads anything. HD light is solid, then it rocks. booting everthing and running fine. I tested the timing with BootVis, and indeed there is this 35 second or so gap of doing nothing. No HD access, notjhing loading.
I disabled everything I'm not using in the BIOS , but that doesn't affect this problem.
UPDATE: As I wrote this, I decided to try something else. I disabled IDE 1, where I have an OLD Creative CD-ROM alone as master. Sure enough , thats what caused the delay. Is there something that can be done to cure the issue, or is it just old hardware not playing nice? Now getting a full boot in less than 30 seconds.

You can check to see if any programs are running in the background...Task Manager. You can also disable other items in Services....
That may help speed things up!

Drop in Speed between airport express and express

Hi all
I am quite new to this apple networking and got an issue to ask.
This is my environment. I am using 10mbps adsl. The encryption is WPA-2 Personal. All devices are using static IP. Airport extreme is 5th Generation and Airport express is 2nd generation with latest firmware.
I am connecting from my modem to airport extreme (using 2.4GHz on Channel 8) and to airport express (EX2). The location is about 70m away with 1 wall in between. I am able to achieve around 9-10mbps.
From Ex2, I join it using "Join to wireless network" and connect with physical straight cable LAN to WAN of another airport express (EX3). EX2 is on automatic channel for both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz (automatic as I cant change them). I set EX3 as "extend wireless network and is (using 2.4GHz on Channel 8).
I use airport express (EX1) and place it about 50m away. There is one server room with many networking devices in it. EX1 is on automatic channel for both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz (automatic as I cant change them).
Now I did a speed test on EX1 location and can only achieve 1.5-2.5mbps. I did a wifi detection test and there are many networking devices on channel 6 and 11 with few on channel 1-5.
I did tried to change manually for the 2.4GHz channels from 1-13 and 5GHz channels. The test speed results remain the same 1.5-2.5mbps at EX1.
Now my question is if I extend from airport express (EX3) to airport express (EX1), will it cause a drop n speed at EX1? Or was it due to the server room that causes the poor performance? I do not have access to the server room nor those devices in the room.

It presumably depends on what existing Av kit you have and how you plan to control things.
Neither AppleTV2 or Airport Express have in-built amplification for speakers.
AppleTV2 would require speakers with an optical input to work unless you wer eusing it with a Tv and Tv speakers. In addition current software prevents optical working well unless HDMI also connected.
Airport Express has a combined miniToslink/analogue stereo audio out 3.5mm socket and if using for audio only would avoid the potential HDMI issues I mentioned above.
Other things to consider would be speakers like B&W Zeppelin Air with in-built Airplay for audio and powered speakers.
Apple's Remote app for iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch would be an excellent way to control multiple Airport devices played from iTunes.
