When deleting running crystal report from BOE CMC, it leaves Oracle thread?

hi,  Yesterday, we discovered an anomaly.  From BOE's CMC, I deleted a running Crystal Report instance. I believed that this would "cancel" the running report. However, later, it produced a message.  It apparently kept on running in Oracle until it finished.
My question: when I delete a job from BOE's CMC, what else must we do to cancel it from continuing in Oracle? Apparently, it continued to be a "thread" in Oracle.
What additional steps should I take or are there any setup steps?  Thank you.
Our BOE version (copied from the CMC about screen) is: Product: 12.1.0 © 2008 Business Objects (or Product Version:      12.2.0.290).
Thank you,
Dean

I'd just been trying instructions in SAP note: 1407795 when this reply came through.... I can confirm this worked for me.
The error codes I found in the Windows Event viewer, both yesterday and today are listen below:
RCIRAS0240
RCIRAS0622
RCIRAS0567
RCIRAS0244
The issues that are described in this post and the ones I have seen first-hand  when the screen hangs when viewing this report on-demand, or the report running for a longer than expected time when scheduled, are covered by the above error codes.
A known cause of the issues you are experiencing is that when these particular reports were created, a network printer was specified as the default printer, this printer may now either be unavailable, IP address may have changed, etc.
There do seem to be two options available:
Option 1 - Remove the printer driver dependency
Open this report in the Crystal Reports Designer.
Under the File menu, click on Page Setup.
Select the No Printer option.
Option 2 - Add or correct the printer that the report is designed with
Open the Report in the Crystal Reports Designer
Under the File menu, click on Page Setup
Make not of the printer that is listed in the Page Setup dialog
Log on to the BusinessObjects Enterprise Server that houses the Crystal Reports Processing Servers.
Make sure you log in as the user account that runs the Crystal Reports services.  This is generally the account that runs the Service Intelligence Agent (SIA)
Go to Control Panel and click on Printers
Ensure that the same printer is configured on the server that is used in the Crystal Report
In the printer already exists, try removing it and re-adding it.

  • Scheduling Crystal report from BOE

    Hi,
I have a Crystal report (based on ECC Function module) which doesn't retrieve data when I schedule it from BOE (infoview).
I have Integration kit installed, and the crystal report works fine when i execute it manually.
I think it is an issue with connectivity/authentication or something. I don't have a service user id created. (to run the Crystal report i use my ECC user id which has authorization to S_RFC etc)
Can you tell me the steps that i need to follow before i am able to run my ECC crystal report from BOE/infoview?
    Thanks, Arka

    Hi,
the user that is scheduling the report needs to have the same authorization like viewing the report. you can also see the list of detailed authorizations required in the documentation for the SAP Integration Kit in the chapter authorizations.
all product documentation is available on help.sap.com

  • Distribute Crystal Report from BOE Server

    Hi,
    =========
    Installation on Client machine:
    Crystal Report 2008 V1 SP1 and SP2
SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP2
    Installation on BOE Server:
    BOE XI 3.1 SP2
SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP2
    Installation on BW:
    SAP BW 7
    ========
Created crystal report on top of SAP BW Query, and save/publish the Crystal Report into BOE Server directly via Crystal Report ->File ->Save as (I understand that we can also save the Crystal Report into BW role, then publish the Crystal Report into BOE Server via the BW Publish, but we're not using the BW Publish option here).
Now user can logon to BOE InfoView and execute/display the Crystal Report, no problem.
My question is in BOE Server, is there any functionality that allow us to execute the Crystal Report and send it to the user automatically via email? Just like the BEx Broadcaster functionality in SAP BW 7.
If yes, how can I do it?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Seb,
I have a look at the document: http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_bip_admin_en.pdf
I can see where to schedule the Crystal Reprot to run in the background and send out via email option.
However, I dont see how the report can be sent out from BOE server. Is there any setting need to be done so that BOE Server can send out the crystal report?
    Please help, thank you.

  • Connection to Enterpise RAS Server to run Crystal Reports from Externaltool

    Hi,
I am new to SDK, we have this situation
We are using Enterprise BO XI 3.1 SP2, and we use a Java based tool by an external vendor
that has Crystal reports and the vendor suggested to we use Crystal report embedded Report
Application server to run those reports.
The reports run successfully when we use Crystal report embedded Report Application server
and we are having difficulties with establishing connection to the RAS Server that comes
    with the BO 3.1 Installation.
    My questions are:
    1) Is there a difference between connecting to stand alone RAS server and the Enterprise
server as the vendor insisted on by saying that their code looks for the RAS service name, but with
the enterprise version under the services there is only one service name CMC
    2) what are the steps we need to take to establish the connection with enterprise RAS server
    3) currently we are using RAS server has version 12.2.7.598 , Vendor Certified is 12.1.0.882
for the standalone server. Does the version cause any issues
Our direction is to go with the Enterprise BO XI 3.1 SP2 RAS server.  Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated
    Thanks

First thing to check is to determine that the RAS server command-line has specified the -ipport <port number> and that the Java code is calling the RAS server on that port.

    Ted Ueda

  • Run Crystal Report from URL includes username and password

    Hello,
    I've downloaded CR 2008, and CR Server 2008 demo's.
I'm trying to use a feature I've used with CR10 enterprise, and XI report server, where I can run a report direct from the URL.
    Something like:
    or
    http://192.168.72.98/businessobjects/enterprise115/infoview/main.aspx?id=1024&init=actx&apssystem=hobprim&apsuser=visy&apspassword=Fillers3&apsauthtype=secenterprise
I've noticed that there were subtle syntax differences between CR10 Enterprise and XI report server in the past, and expect that similar differences exist with CR server 2008.
Could someone show me the syntax for CR Server 2008 to run a report from a URL, and pass the required username and password, without having to go through the infoview logon screen

    Tim,
Thanks for the reply.  I admit I did see that thread when I was looking for a solution.
My hesitance is that for a non programmer it looks very difficult, and a lot of settings.
I liked the URL reporting because of its simplicity - one line.
I know that it advertises the username and password, but for our requirement (intranet reporting, LAN separated from IT), its not a big risk.
My further investigations indicate that for CRS 2008 something like the following should work:
    http://192.168.207.156/CrystalReports/view.aspx?id=1102&apsuser=administrator&apspassword=admin1&apsauthtype=secEnterprise&init=java
    However I get
404 - File or Directory not found.
I'm running on Windows7 with IIS7, so I think it must be an IIS configuration issue
    Any Ideas?

  • Run Crystal Report From Forms

    Dear all,
Can i run a crystal report from forms10g ? if i yes then how can i do it
    Thanks in advance

I have to be honest I don't know much about crystal reports.
In addition to the suggestion of Francois, if you can access/run it via a URL you could use the web.show_document procedure with the url containing all your required parameters, which is similar to some of the method available to run oracle reports.
    eg. web.show_document(http://ServerNameDetails?parameter1=1&parameter2=hello,'_blank');

  • When I run a report from a certain website, it is in Excel format. Currently I have only the option to save it. I also want the option to open it. How do I get this option back? [SOLVED]

In IE, when I run these reports, I have the option to Open, Save, or Cancel. In Firefox it just goes directly to a folder to Save, there is no Open option, which I need. I want to view the report immediately, not save it.

I figured it out - Tools, Options, Applications. For Excel, change to Always Ask.

  • RCIRAS0546 Error - Unable to Export a Crystal Report from BOE XI (SP3) 3.1

    Hello,
We have just upgraded to Crystal Reports 2008 (from Crystal Reports 10) and BOE XI 3.1 sp3 (from Crystal Enterprise 10).  The reports created in CR 10 open and generate just fine from within CR 2008, and they are saved to BOE XI.  When I view the CR from within BOE XI web gui, the report displays fine in Crystal Report format.  When I attempt to export the report to .pdf, I get the error "Your request could not be completed because a failure occurred while the report was being processed. Please contact your system administrator. [RCIRAS0546]"  I tried exporting the report to Word, Excel, RTF, and CSV and did not get any error.  Adobe Reader IS loaded on the server (we are running direct on server right now to test before deploying over web).
This does not happen with all of our reports, and we can't figure out why it happens with some and not others.  Another thread on the forum led me to believe it may have been due to subreports, but this is not the case as the reports that error sometimes have subreports, sometimes not.  Some reports have formulas, some do not.  I can't find the common design between them to cause this issue.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
(FYI - I've changed the default Input and Output directory of the servers from the default C drive to the D drive as it is larger.  I simply overwrote the placeholder and ensured the folder path existed - which it does.  Not sure if this applies.  I also pointed the temp directory to the same D location)

  • Run crystal report 2008 with cmc event

it is possible to run the report only when i have some new record in a table ?
or a new file in the disk ?
i created one event in cmc but when i tried to schedule i don't have the option "with events"
    any help ?
    Thanks
    Ricardo

Events can be based on a new file, and reports can be scheduled to wait for the event.  However, you do need to use the "with events" scheduling option in order to do so.  I don't know why you would not have that option (unless, maybe, if the event that you defined wasn't saved - i.e. no events - and/or you don't have an event server running).
One thing on events, though, is that they work in conjunction with the scheduled time of the report.  The report has to pass the schedule time, THEN the event has to be triggered before the report will run.  Once triggered, a new or recurring schedule must evoke the report again before it will start watching for the event.  So, in other words, I don't believe that you can have a report triggered solely by an event.

  • Logon Screen when opening a Crystal Report from Add-on

    Hello everyone,
I have a problem that I've been trying to solve. I have an addon that opens a Crystal Report with the information that the user wants. I tried it in SBO using a SQL db and it worked without problems, but now I've test it in SBO using IBM DB2 db (the client has that db implemented) and the report doesn't open, instead of the report it appears a log in screen asking for the server name, database, user and password.
I've tried every possibility without success, it returns a message saying that my login is not correct, the thing is that all I've written in that login screen is the correct info, even tried many possibilities... and I can't access to the report!
I've searched lots of forums for an answer, but none of them helped me. Can anybody help me with this issue?
    Thank you very much,
    Regards,
    Mariana Mazzero

in case you do sure that is just lose some dll file,I think maybe you can create a install package by using Visual Studio.
you can create a form and put a crysyal object on the form. and use the wizard.
Visual Studio will auto collect all dll you needed.
than you can compare the file list,
or, you can just install the package on the standalone PC.
    It's a stupid solution.
but, I think it is effective. :P

  • Crystal reports from command line

    Post Author: DrewJ
    CA Forum: General
    Hi,
I need to run Crystal reports from the command line.
Does anyone know how to pass parameter arguments when launching the application?
    I have tried cr32w.exe c:\reports\report.rpt arg="099909"
(which launches the right report, but does not pass in the arg)
    Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Drew Johnston

    Hi,
Thanks for the reply.  The application would not be on the same server as the machine.  So if I used the command that you gave me would that actually run the report (ie refresh the data and then save the report ,as instructed in the settings, on to the network location).  Or would it just open up the report.  Also, how would I send parameters to the report, eg Dates or Status.
This is the scenario.  At the moment a user would input data on to database via an external applicaion.  After inputting all the data, they would then have to log into Crystal Infoview.  Navigate to the report.  They would then click on the Schedule hyperlink.  They would change the parameters eg Start Date and End Date.   And then press the Schedule button.  The report would then refresh the data, and as specified in the Destination, it would write out to a network location.
So we want the external app to write a command line prompt, so that the user did not have to log onto Crystal at all.  The application would send the relevant parameters and run the crystal report automatically without the user having to log into Crystal at all.
    Regards,
    Prakash

  • Crystal Reports scheduled in CMC Fails -Error: database connector error

    Hi,
I am trying to schedule Crystal Report from the CMC. The report is created on top of InfoCube out of the SAP BI 7.0 server. On scheduling I am getting a particular error as u201CDatabase Connector Erroru201D.
Is there any way to troubleshoot this. Do we need to configure BW Publisher parameters for the new SAP BI7.0 server with BO Enterprise Server which is tried out recently?
All this processes work fine with the BW3.5 server for which I believe the configuration for the connection settings is already done.
    Thanks,
    Amogh

    Hi Ingo,
The Crystal Report is built on top of InfOCube in SAP BI7.0 Server.Glad to tell you that the Reports do not give anymore while
scheduling in CMC. It was an authorization issue with my user id in SAP BI7.0 System which the BASIS has resolved now.
Referring to your question, somebody earlier suggested me that whenever BO Enterprise server needs to communicate with a new SAP BI Server we need to establish the connection through Universe Designer and test the connection and there is no other way create connection through the CMC.
If there is a better way, please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Amogh

  • RUNNIG CRYSTAL REPORTS FROM ORACLE FORMS (for oracle report team too)

I WANT TO RUN CRYSTAL REPORT FROM THE ORACE FORMS 6i how can i
run this if any one has syntax or any detail please send me
    or reply
    thanks

Ask the Crystal support forum how do you invoke their tool from
    a command line.
You can then use host command from forms.
You can also try and find out if they have an OLE2 interface and
then work with the OLE2 package in forms.
