Where is the cache location?

Hi,
i have the following problem - when i start my application
(from the Builder) i have the old version (previous) of my swf
file. I think the problem that this swf file was cached from my
browser or?
How i can clear the cache?

I ran into the similar problem. I had to include the below
meta tag in the html file to keep the .swf content synced to the
clients all the time. Our users did not like it, but they are
living with it as I could not find an alternative. Not sure why the
flashplayer is not able to recognize the .swf content on the server
changed and bring it down and don't know if this is a browser
limitation (and looks like all have it).
<META HTTP-EQUIV="CACHE-CONTROL" CONTENT="NO-CACHE">
For some reason, the above work around is not working for
users behind a firewall.

  • Accessing and Moving files in the Cached Location

    I am having trouble accessing jar files in the cached location where WebStart puts files after an install.
    I cannot do the following:
    1. Start a separate process within the main process using a jar file brought over by WebStart.
    See the jnlp file below, the jar file I want to run as a separate process is second.jar.
    2. Move a jar file from the cached location to some other location on disk.
    All of this is attempted on my own machine with Admin rights.
    Here is the jnlp file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0+"
    codebase="http://server/test/"
    href="test.jnlp">
    <information>
    <title>Test App</title>
    <vendor>None</vendor>
    <homepage href="home.html"/>
    <description>Install the Client Application</description>
    <description kind="short">This is a description, kind = \"short\"</description>
    <description kind="tooltip">This is a description, kind = \"tooltip\"</description>
    <icon href="img/chart.gif"/>
    </information>
    <security><all-permissions/></security>
    <resources>
    <j2se version="1.4+"/>
    <jar href="main.jar" main="true"/>
    <jar href="second.jar"/>
    </resources>
    <application-desc main-class="MainApp"/>
    </jnlp>

    I'm having a few problems following your suggestion. We have main.jar and second.jar. In your solution you say to access some file in the jar, for me this is second.jar. I added a file called chart.gif to second.jar.
    The following code is inside main.jar to access chart.gif inside second.jar:
    URL url = getClass().getClassLoader().getResource("images/chart.gif");
    I verified that images/chart.gif is bundled inside second.jar by doing a "jar tf second.jar".
    The problem is when I re-load the updated jar files, and run the client app, the URL is null.
    I think your idea is to access any file in the other jar file to get at the url, and finally to get at the path
    of the jar file and execute it inside main.jar.
    So I am not able to access a resource that is in second.jar from main.jar.

  • Can't change the cache location

    I use a RAMDisk for the disk cache. Prior to upgrading to Firefox 11, I used to be able to set
    browser.cache.disk.parent_directory=R:\
    to set this. Now the cache is no longer located on R:\ although this setting is still there. Where has it gone and why?

    Does it help if you use a specific directory like R:\temp on that drive instead of setting the root directory as the location of the cache?
    Be sure to create the specified directory.
    Are you setting the cache location via the about:config page?

    Hi,
    where are the updates located for Mac App Store app? I don't think /Library/Updates is the only location. Because I'm now having 10+ of Apps reporting updates is needed, but only 1MB+ files is located in /Library/Updates.

    If so just use the search bar in the top right to search for the update you are looking for.

    I lost my ipod and I need to know where is the last location before its off.(its definded in icloud)

    Your welcome.
    If you don't see it on the map now when you go to icloud.com and check Find My iPhone, if it is shown on the device list you can click on the device, then check the box next to "Notify me when found" (see image below) and you will receive an email when it goes back online, if ever.  The email is sent to the email address associated with your iCloud ID.
    There's nothing else you can do.  I don't believe iCloud support can tell you it's last location either once it's cleared from the map.

    where is the magnet located in the track pad and display lid?
    have to see if theres a problem with the display magnet because when i close the lid, the sleep function does not work.
    am using a fridge magnet to move around the track pad to see if this will activate sleep mode. im begining to wonder if its worth just going with out the auto sleep mode and maybe try n get some money of what i paid for it (it was a refurb machine)

    as a guess, around the middle of trackpad, maybe half an inch moving from the lead edge towards the screen
    also, give it a few seconds to activate in any one spot - it's not instant

  • Where is the cache?

    Where is the cache in Safari?   A webpage that I visit regularly does not load this morning.   Safari reports a 403 error at that webpage.   Isitdownnow.com reports that that webpage is up and recommends, inter alia, emptying the cache in Safari.   The Help Center in Safari tells me to pull down the Safari menu to "Empty Safari."   There is no such tool in my Safari menu.
    Here is a screen shot of Help Center and the Safari menu:
    I am running Safari Version 7.0.1 (9537.73.11).   Where's the cache?

    Safari menu - Reset Safari has an option to remove website data.
    You can also use Safari - Preferences - Advanced to show the Develop menu. Once that's visible, there's an Empty Caches command there.
    Also see Safari - Preferences - Privacy to remove cache/cookies etc for some or all sites.

  • Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

    Where is the default location for the OC4J logs?

    Depends on what variant of the product you are using.
    In an Oracle Applicaiton Server environment (ie the one you install versus unzip) the stdout/stderr streams from OC4J are captured in the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/<group-instance> directory.
    If you are using standalone then stdout goes to the console where you started the process.
    The logs for the OC4J instance itself are located in $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/log/<instance_group> directory. In this directory you'll see different logs for differet areas of the server. Most of the logs however are captured in the oc4j sub-directory in the log.xml file. Whenever you enable an OC4J component logger in the j2ee-logging.xml file or via ASControl, this is where the logs will end up.
    Take a look at the $ORACLE_HOME/j2ee/home/config/j2ee-logging.xml file -- the log handlers will give you some idea on the different log files that are in use.
    You can configure your application loggers to also direct their log into this file if you wish. See http://buttso.blogspot.com/2007/09/directing-log-messages-into-oc4j.html for an example.

  • I have no DVD drive on my computer.  Where are the downloads located?

    I received discs for Photoshop elements & premier elements 12 with my new camera but my computer doesn't have a DVD drive.  I assumed it would be no big deal to download them from the Internet...wrong.  .I have serial numbers to install Photoshop but I cannot find where the downloads are located.  I find plenty of "trial" downloads but I should not have to pay for a product I already have.  Can anyone help me out there in cyber-land?  Adobe has no information on the website and I am unable to locate a live person.  So, that is you!  Hey live person, can you help this little ol lady?  Thank you so much!!

    I am okay with a computer but not a geek that is for sure!
    I downloaded the assistant and nothing happened.  I went to the site you so kindly suggested and started the download, and when I tried to apply it to the computer it said elements were missing.  I deleted the download and then started again.  Right now it is once again downloading the assistant.

    Thanks for the update.
    What was the problem...the length of time for the download or just getting any download at all?
    If necessary, I will go step by step with you through the tryout download from Adobe. But, the purchase of a USB external DVD/CD burner for your computer is a good idea and investment.
    If you do the shopping for this, check out how many connections are necessary for it to the computer....none, one, or two...check out the length of the USB cable.
    Please let us know how we can help. But, your mentioned place of purchase has a squad who should be able to help your with the purchase.
    Thanks. Please update us on your progress when your schedule permits.

    I lost my IPhone5 and after 7 hours I called lost and stollen and now I can't track where was the last location I left the phone ,and I don't remember if I stablished the FIND MY PHONE app.
    Is there any way that I can find the last location that I left it,eventhough I called in lost and stolen and reactivated my # to a different device.

    If you didn't set up Find My iPhone or it otherwise does not appear in icloud.com, then there's no way to trace it. Notify the police and your cell carrier, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPhone (the iTunes Store, for instance).

  • How do I change the cache location?

    I just installed the new Firefox 4.0 beta 5. I was using Firefox 3.6.9 previously.
    In Firefox 4 beta, I cannot find the menu item for changing the location of the cache. Has this feature been deleted, or simply moved to some other menu?
    Specifically, I need to switch the cache location from the default C:\Users\{username}\ ..... to a different drive. This is something people commonly do if they want to minimize fragmentation on their system disk.
    How can I specify a different location for the cache?

    There's never been a Menu item or UI pref in Firefox for moving the Cache, it's always been a hidden pref.

  • How to change the CACHE location to a different drive

    My Bridge's cache is located on my C drive, which is almost full.  I would like to change the cache location to drive D, which is also an internal drive, but with lots of available space.  Unfortunately, when I go to Preferences and click the "Choose" button for the cache location, it only shows me my C drive.  I am 99% sure I originally installed all of the creative cloud on my C drive, but then uninstalled it and reinstalled it on my D drive(because of space reasons).  It appears as if the application resides on the D drive, but all the app data remains on the C drive.
    Is there anyway to access the D drive for the cache?
    Is there anyway to move the app data files to my D drive?
    Thanks,

    Hi Ronald,
    Thanks for your response.  Here is what I see when I click the button to choose a cache location:
    I have explored the file structure and can't see anything outside of these folders, which are on the C drive.
