Why can I not disable the guest user in the 10.8.2 update? I have never enabled the guest user, but after the update, it was automatically enabled with a "managed" tag. It is not selectable even after entering my admin password to unlock the options.

SOLVED Ok. I actually was able to disable it. I had to actually log in as the guest user to make it accessible in the preference window. Then I disabled it and logged out. Apologies if this was obvious for some people, but I have had some sort of issue with something every update since Snow Leopard.

if your adobe programs work but the cc panel shows none are installed (so you cannot update), use solution 2 here, http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html even though that problem is the opposite. -
I am trying to download a free app to my iPhone 4, but after entering my correct password I get the message "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". The only option is to hit OK which achieves nothing. How can I connect to the store?

While using my iPhone the system behavior changed where I now have to click on the app to select it, then double click to launch it. Same goes for entering in my password to access the phone and entering digits to make a phone. I am also having trouble swiping the screen to move to the next page. This is no longer working. I did not change any settings, the phone just started behaving this way. Any ideas on how to revert back to the single click selection/launch? Any assistant is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions. -

Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.

What do you mean it won't hook up to iTunes? you mean iTunes does not recognize the device? If that's what you mean, one of these might be helpful.

So you made a new Apple ID? Unfortunately that won't work. Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another and Apple does not merge Apple IDs. What should have been doen is mearely change the email address that was associated with the Apple ID.

The only way that you can do this now is with a new email address if you used your current email address for the new Apple ID. -

You probably have a 2G iPod and those can only go to 4.2.1. If 8 or 16 GB it is a 2G. A 32 GB can be either . To identify yours:

is there a way to disable the "enter a password to unlock the disk" prompt? My macbook has 2 logical drives, one of them is encrypted, and everytime I start the Mac os x it pops up with that prompt.
Any help is appreciated!You would have to create the file /etc/fstab with an entry to prevent the volume from mounting automatically. That's advanced system hacking that I don't recommend, but if you want to do it, see the fstab(5) man page for instructions (you must be shell-literate to do this.) Otherwise you're going to be prompted.

I download songs from my dropbox to my macbook pro and then upload them to my updated iTunes. iTunes plays them in entirety, but when i update my iTunes match, my iPhone and iPad skip many of the songs and albums. Why? I have tried everything.
If you have manually manage set, you do not sync.
If you want to sync, select the content desired to sync and sync.

Does he have any of the account's downloads in his computer's iTunes library : Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name.
Or has he tried finding it via http://appleid.apple.com : Apple ID: How to find your Apple ID.
If he can find the account id he can then get its password reset via http://iforgot.apple.com

My iPhone 5 is not syncing with my iTunes 11.3, on OSx. I have just completed all of the most recent updates and have looked into completely uninstalling iTunes but I found my computer won't let me! Any ideas?

I've been using a Seagate portable backup for my Time Machine backup. I noticed it wasn't recognizing the disk so I unplugged it (got the "disk was not ejected properly" one time) and plugged it back in. Then I clicked on the little clock in my menu bar to open Time Machine and when I clicked on Set Preferences I got a pop up with a little house icon with a dial in the middle and the message"enter a password to unlock the disk. I tried entering what I thought was my password (same one as what locks my computer) and it froze. What is going on-? HELP!!!!
Hmm. Another good question... i don't remember!? It now contins two partitions; _backup, which is Mac OS Extended (Journaled, Encrypted) and Owners Enabled: Yes, and a partition labeled Data which is also Mac OS Extended (Journaled, Encrypted) but Owners Enabled: No.
From this discussion it is apparent that the _backup partition is the one needing a password, none of which I use(d) works.
