Because that is the only way to solve your issue. It told you to contact them. You must contact them. No one else can solve the issue. They asked you to contact them for a reason.

What support? All I get is an endless circle of running around. Things worked fine until recently, apperently real people to talk to don't exist here, just a never ending series of links that lead nowhere. It seems many others have had this same problem with Itunes, but what is the salution?

Choose country, and then at the bottom of the list on the left there should be an option 'Contact Support' (via expresslane).
It's only users here on this forum - unfortunately Apple don't seem to have a simple phone number and you have to get support via email or occasionally a live chat option.

It's saying to contact iTunes support to complete transaction when I update my billing info. The info is correct & the payment method is good. Why is it saying that? And I tried contacting support but there's no phone # just email.

wow wrote that in the wrong place. First time using this forum thing. Question is still the same. I don't think I'm looking in the right place. It says, "Please contact iTunes support to complete this transaction". The reason it came up is because I added a credit card to my account. Do I have to just reset my password completely and all my security info and re-enter it?
Have you considered doing exatly what it says and contacting itunes support?

You can contact iTunes support by going to this page, selecting iTunes > iTunes Store and sending them the details. Just so you know, the people on these forums are just other Apple product users like yourself, Apple does not generally answer questions here.

iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1You will need to do what it says, contact iTunes support. Click the Support tab above, then the Get Started link in the Contact Apple Support area and you'll be guided. We are all just fellow users here and so have no idea about the cause of the issue nor any ability to resolve it for you.
