Are you manually downloading the Live Updates and PRU's or using the wizard?
If you are using the wizard, then I would recommend downloading the
updates manually and running the update that way.
You can get the updates from here.

  • Compatibility pack doesn't show up in ZAM inventory?

The MS Compatibility Pack for Office 2003 doesn't show up in a ZAM

I'd think that something like this would be in the PRU.

  • Help with ZMAN SUDU Command to delete March 2013 PRU

Howdy! I'm new to the community and to ZENworks. Please be gentle.
I inherited a ZCM 11.1a server. It is working fine, but has not been updated since December 2011. I tried to install the update "Mar 2013 PRU" but it never finished. The file was "stuck" downloading for 4 hours! I decided to cancel the download... a week later, is still "cancelling".
I don't have the "Deploy PRU Now", as its status is "Cancelling".
I can't delete the file because is "Unable to delete Mar 2013 PRU. This update is in the process of being canceled. Please wait until the update cancels and then delete the update."
I can't download the file again. "Mar 2013 PRU - This update has already been downloaded and is ready to be deployed."
The screen looks something similar to (found this pic on another thread)
    http://i202.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps13aad101.jpg
Obviously something went wrong. I posted in the wrong section of the forum (LINK) and got directed to attempt a zman sudu - Novell Documentation
system-update-delete-update (sudu) (system update or PRU name) [options]
Deletes a specified system update or PRU from the zone.
(system update or PRU name) - System update or PRU name or UID.
    Accepts the following option:
-f, --force - Forces the update to be deleted. Use with caution, and only if you are sure that the update is not in an active state.
    My questions:
    1) How do I find out what is the name of the update file? Here is the link to the location... NOVELL: Downloads - ZCM/ZAM 11.2 March 13 PRU
    2) What would be the correct syntax for the command? Maybe
    Code:
    zman sudu 11.2.Mar2013 -f
    Thanks for your help.

So the correct syntax should be:
    Code:
    zman sudu 11.2.Mar2013 --force
Is this the correct name of the PRU file? I'm unsure of that.
PS: Thanks Shaun... you the best! hehehe... See? I'm trying to post on the correct forums this time.

  • G570 Windows 7 microphone problems (choppy sound when recording)

    Good morning,
I have a nice Lenovo G570 with Windows 7 that has been running perfectly for quite a while.  I have some old audio tracks (multi-track recordings) that I have done using Audacity on an ancient Windows XP desktop.
I installed a new version of Audacity (64 bit) for Windows 7 from their website and it is fine.  It opened up, displayed, and played the old audio tracks without a problem.  It even allowed me to remix them as well.
My main problem is using the microphone and wanting to do some musical recordings and multi-track recordings on the Lenovo G570.  I plug a Shure microphone (using a 1/8" adapter) into the mic jack on the side of the G570 and start to record.  It works fine and allows me to record the first track (keyboards).  But yet when I go to record the second track, while listening to the 1st track (i.e. multi-track), the microphone input dies out, gets choppy, fades back in to normal level, fades back out, etc...
I ran a test on the microphone jack and the drivers (Conexant SmartAudio HD)...  I plugged my MP3 player into the mic jack using a stereo 1/8" cable and clicked "Listen to this device" and then clicked Apply.  One of my MP3 tunes started playing, but was so awful and so choppy, I instantly knew I had a problem.
I downloaded the latest Conexant SmartAudio HD driver from your website - - 8.54.4.51 and installed it and rebooted.  I still have the same problem with choppy audio when using the microphone for recording.
What gives?  I performed the same test on my wife's Dell laptop (as seen above with my MP3 player), and a Beatles tune came through beautifully.  You could hear Paul McCartney clearly singing, "Yesterday...  All my troubles seemed so far away..." and it was not choppy at all.  Then again, my wife's Dell laptop does not use Conexant SmartAudio HD for sound drivers.
Can you provide any help with this strange issue with using the microphone for recording so it won't come across all choppy?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thanks for the reply.  I got it worked out...  I contacted Audacity and went over and over everything them.  I downloaded and installed the latest audio drivers from Lenovo too (version 8.54.4.51).  On my Lenovo G570 with the Conexant SmartAudio HD package, I had to do into the "recording devices" section of the audio after selecting the microphone (either internal or external - if it's plugged in).  Then click on "Advanced" and go down to the checkboxes and uncheck:
Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device
    Give exclusive mode applications priority
    ...and finally...
    Enable audio enhancements
Click OK, exit out of it, close everything, reboot...
Sha-zam..  Audacity records perfectly fine without any problems, choppyness, cutting in/out, etc... and on all tracks, while other tracks are playing.

  • Zenserver process dead after installing June 2011 PRU

    ZCM 10.3.1 on SLES
We were trying to image a new model of computer, Lenovo M91p, and having problems getting PreBoot service to launch. Thought perhaps the latest PRU would fix it. So downloaded and deployed the June 2011 PRU, and rebooted the server. Server sent this message via email.
"Error: [6/2/11 2:26:29 PM] Loader.SettingsRefreshModule SettingsModule.SettingsUnknownError An internal error occurred while trying to refresh the system settings."
At console the zenserver process status is "dead". I issued a zenserver restart but still "dead".
What happened and how can I fix it?
I installed this box a year ago just to test out Zenworks Configuration Management and this is the first problem we've had.

    Rbaker,
the PRU is only for inventory, it contains updated definitions for
software and hardware, it's not going to help with imaging, and should
not have caused this problem. A reboot is not required after deploying
the PRU, so I suggest that the problem was already present, just
waiting to happen when the server was restarted. Can I suggest that you
post this in the server-install forum, where you'll stand a better
chance of getting the help you need?

  • ZAM 7. Collection Server unable to be started in ZAM Manager

    Hey all,
Having problems getting my Domain Collection Server running in our ZAM Enterprise environment.
Domain server has been rebuilt and by itself appears to be working fine.
I have it communicating back to the central ZAM server and both my "Collection Server" and "Task Server" services are up and running.
However when I log into the ZAM Manager and look for the status of the 2 services, the "Collection Server" status is "stopped" and the "Task Servers" status is "Started"
When I try and start the "Collection Server" nothing happens, the status stays steady as "Stopped". It doesn't appear to even try to start.
From my domain server, if i restart the "Collection Server" service, i see the status in the ZAM Manager Console change from "Stopped" to "Unavailable" then back to "Stopped" again.
Same process on the "Task Server" service results in the ZAM Manager status changing from "Started" to "Unavailable" back to "Started" again.
Does anyone have any ideas as to where i should start to troubleshoot this?
Server was working a year back when i first configured it, I left the company for ~1 year and have returned to the server in this broken state. No one knows what happened. I have since rebuilt the server and am still getting the same issues.
I have confirmed with the Central IT Team that other Domain "Collection Servers" are functioning correctly.

Check the accounts being used to run the collection server service and make sure they have admin rights on the collection server.

Now I tried a clean reinstall of my Nvidia display
drivers already It does sound like a video card or video driver problem. You said "my Nvidia display drivers" . Have you gone to [url nvidia.com]Nvidia's website and downloaded the latest Nvidia driver. Also if you haven't already install the latest Microsoft DirectX software.
After installing the latest drivers you may want to turn off direct draw:
    java -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true
There are other java2d flags you can try. See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/2d/flags.html

  • Integrating existing third party dataset with ZAM

We're new to Zen Asset Management, but we've figured out how to add custom fields. We'd like to be able to populate these custom fields with data from a home grown database of hardware. For instance, a capital year of purchase or a fiscal-assigned capital asset identifier. I'm sure we can key off of TCP/IP address and write the SQL UPDATE statements, if necessary. I searched documentation and the web for an answer or direction, but keywords like: 'migrate', 'import', and similar keywords have a specific technical meaning within the application.
Is there a method to integrate existing hardware information into the ZAM framework? If so, can you point me in the right direction?

  • How to help Novell with the PRU list?

Hi! We are running some applications in our network that ZCM inventory seems unable to recognize. So my question is how can I Novell with the necessary info to get my different apps include in the next PRU? For example, the inventory can't detect "Antidote RX" or "Antidote HD" from the company Druide.

  • Shockwave driver problem

I got a new macbook this past weekend, and I can't seem to get shockwave to download and work properly. everytime I try, it tells me that it attempted to load an internet plug-in but there was some problem and the plug-in failed to load successfully.
I had no problem installing shockwave on my parents' new macbook about a month ago and everything works fine on that laptop. I called applecare yesterday and after doing some troubleshooting they had be do an archive and install preserving all of the settings. they said if that didn't work to do an archive and install without preserving the settings and then if that didn't work to do an erase and install. I did, checking each time to see if I could download and use shockwave and it doesn't work. I know it probably seems like a little problem, but I am worried that if something as basic as shockwave can't work on my computer, I am afraid that there might be larger problems.
has anyone else had a similar problem? and does anyone have any suggestions?
    thanks!

According to the error message, the movie has errors. The

  • Can ZAM capture local Administrators from client?

Hi, my first time posting here. My organization uses Zenworks 11 SP1 (ZCM and ZAM). Can ZAM be configured to capture members of the local administrators group off of the client? Our client machines are Windows XP SP3, and local administrators can be found at My Computer-Manage-Local Users and Groups-Groups-Administrators on the client.
Our client services guys know ZAM much better than I do and they have never been able to find how to do this. I'm writing a custom app that needs requires this data. We have a workaround process in place, but it's a little clunky and it would really be ideal if we had a way to just capture this directly into ZAM since the large majority of the other data I need is already coming from ZAM. Was just wondering if any Zenworks gurus out there could shed a little light. Thank you in advance for any replies.

  • PRU is not synced with the LC_TallyProducts

    Hi!
For a bit more than a year now our inventory service has been malfunctioning, making our servers just collecting the inventory files and not actually doing anything with them.
If i check loader-messages.log while restarting services this sticks out:
    [TRACE] [02/02/2015 15:16:30.941] [10424] [ZENLoader] [76] [] [ApplyPruAM] [] [Applied PRU is version 3.6.A.16:20131202] [] [] [] [ZENServer]
    [TRACE] [02/02/2015 15:16:30.942] [10424] [ZENLoader] [76] [] [ApplyPruAM] [] [Applied LMPRU is version 3.6.A.16:20131105] [] [] [] [ZENServer]
    (SNIP)
    [TRACE] [02/02/2015 15:17:01.340] [10424] [ZENLoader] [75] [] [InventoryStorer] [] [PRU is not synced with the LC_TallyProducts ### PRUVersion:3.6.A.16:20131202 LMPRUVersion3.6.A.16:20131105] [] [] [] [ZENServer]
This last line is then repeated once in a while, perhaps whenever a client uploads an inventory report.
Trying to deploy new PRUs the following seems to happen:
The PRU is downloaded to /var/opt/novell/zenworks/content-repo/system-update/5D023C0602F248D9AEEB7CCA2E351132
    It is unzipped to /var/opt/novell/zenworks/system-update/apply/5d023c0602f248d9aeeb7cca2e351132
Then it bails out trying to apply the PRU, complaining that a zip file can't be extracted (see attatched log)
The file in 1) above is a working zip file, seems to be copied to 2) and unzipped. In 2) there is a folder named pre which contains pru.zip. I suppose this is created somehow, but unfortunately is seems broken.
I've tried downloading the PRU on two servers, one old and one new that hasn't had any PRUs applied at all. Same result.
Looking at https://www.netiq.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7014562 it's suggested to check if PRUVersion and LMPRUVersion from the NC_Pru table in the database are identical.
They unfortunately are not: PRUVersion is 3.6.A.16:20131202 and LMPRUVersion is 3.6.A.16:20131105.
We don't have any SR:s available so I'm hoping someone here know more about this. It's not that serious for us, we have other ways to inventory our devices, but it's nice having it as a complement.
    Any suggestions are welcome!

  • ZAM collector failed to get WIF path message

This irritating message constantly appears in C:\Program Files\Novell\ZENworks\Asset Management\bin\colw32.log on many PC's. On some PC's it appears every time the collector service tries to start but on some it only appears infrequently. I need to know how to troubleshoot this message as many of our workstations are not producing an inventory and it's down to this message.
I have done some tests today on several PC's all logged on as me. Some work, some don't, so it can't be anything to do with policies and rights to the registry. Using ZAM 7.5 IR16 with latest product updates.
    Thanks

On the particular PC I am using here, there are 2 .WIF files dated 27th November in the InboxCC directory then nothing since so it did work until last week so why it has stopped working now I have no idea.
