1.1.2 Available Friday or before

Hi all,
Apologies if this is old news!
The UK release of iPhone ships with 1.1.2...although apparently nothing much has been updated.
Oh except that it will supposedly brick all hacked iPhones.
I guess this will mean the update will be available before Friday.
Im more excited about actually getting the iPhone in the UK finally!

ECC Plan Resource Availability is Considered before Component is Available.

Hi All,
We have an issue with GOP and ASCP Resource Availability.
We are using ECC plan with 'Calculate Resource Requirement' option enabled. Current version is R12.1.1
Issue:
Component and Resource together are required to make a subassembly.
Component is available on 31st August. For example, resource will be used only after 31st of August as component is not available before that. GOP/CTP is considering resource availability before 31st of August (before the component is available). Resource availability is being calculated from plan run date.
What we expect:
Since component is available on 31st of August, resource (which is available 8 hours per day, 6 days a week) should be used from 31st of August and thus should give us completion date somewhere in first week of October (for 207.816 hours requirement of resource: 26 working days, after 31st of August) for subassembly.
But the resource capacity availability is being considered from current date and since there is no other demand, the resource availability from today is being considred. We want the capacity to be considered from the component availability date.
Did anyone encounter this problem before or this is an intended functionality?

Thanks for the reply. The resource availability is not just visible but also used by ASCP in calculations.
For example in our case we have resource availability of 8 hours per day and inverse usage is 100 items per hour for a subassembly, there is no other demand, no supply. Subassembly lead time is 1 day. The component for the subassembly is available 12 days from today. For ATP inquiry of 8000 qty of the subassembly, the available date should be 23 days from today (Component available on 12th Day, and starts processing 800 qty per day for the next 10 days for a total qty of 8000 + subassembly lead time of 1 day).
The ATP inquiry is suggesting availability of subassembly as 13th Day from today. Pegging shows resource requirement of 80 hours and this is shown available 10 days from today. Component is available on 12th day and it takes 1 day for the subassembly completion.
ASCP is using resource availability from current date even if this resource cannot be used until the component is available.
Any thoughts on this?

Available Friday @ 8AM?

Will AT&T corporate stores be opening early for the iPhone 3G release this morning? Don't have an Apple store nearby and the 2 AT&T stores would normally open at 9:00 and 10:00 respectively. Just curious if they'll be opening early, too.

Exclude free of charge in available stock.

Hi,
Currently in our system, every sales order created decreases the materials quantity available to sell (before delivery is done). On many occasions we have created free of charge sales orders, which a customer is required to collect within a specified period of time. During this time, the stock of the FOC orders can not be used.
The free of charge order type (ZFD) has been defined for this type of orders.
Is there a way to stop free of charged sales orders from consuming stock until collected (delivery/bill is completed).
Any help would be appreciated.

Am assuming ATP check is active in your system at sales order level. for the FOC, de-activate the TOR(Transfer of requirements) at sales order level and keep in active only at delivery level. You might choose to have different item categories and schedule line categories for FOC and hence can de-activate TOR check at Sales Order level for FOC orders.
check tcode OVZ8.
Or alternatively, you can develop a custom routine in requirements for Transfer of Requirements which filters your FOC orders in tcode OVB8.

Problems with Twist Before and after Windows 8.1 Upgrade

I'm not sure if this is a problem on Windows' end or Lenovo's, but here it goes. Problems AFTER Windows 8.1 update:
1.) When I close the computer, even though the power management settings are set to put the computer to sleep, it only goes to sleep about 50% of the time. If I don't catch it, that means the battery will drain completely while I'm under the impression it's sleeping. The kicker is, even if I do catch it, I can't get the computer to turn back on. The screen stays black until I hold the power button down and force the computer to turn off and restart it.
2.) iTunes will not open. I don't get any numbered error message, just a message that it failed. I've tried running iTunes in compatibility mode, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled it, to no avail.
Problems BEFORE:
1.) When I first got the computer, it was super quiet. Now the fan is pretty loud and buzzy. It seems that it may even be brushing something, because if I push the bottom up ever so gently, the sound goes down by half. Not a huge issue, but especially noticeable when I'm in tablet mode.
I know that at least the last one isn't a unique problem. I can kind of live with that, but the first two are really driving me nuts.

I made the mistake of loading W8.1 on my Twist without realizing how raw and bug prone the preview really could be. The backout would require reloading a lot of applications, and this is not my primary PC, so I am toughing it out. Saw updates load. Current build is 9431.
I am currently uninstalling software and updates until I get a stable environment again. Here is some general feedback...
I have not had an issue with the Lenovo System Update running. I suggest you do ONE update at a time.
50% of the shutdown/reboots fail and I need to hard power off with the power button
Manually loading the latest Intel video driver software caused MAJOR problems. Many programs simply did not run and everything was locking up. Backing that out motivated me to remove other stuff. The Lenovo System Update is offering to install a driver which I will attempt after all other firmware and drivers are updated.
I use the Classic Shell v3.6.8 on the desktop. I thought the 8.1 would return the start button, but I assume that Classic Shell is overriding that.
Like others, I have had trouble getting the Juniper VPN software to load and work. Trying to back everything out, but the virtual juniper nic is still showing up in the device manager.
I am usually a reader of discussion forums and not a poster. I will do my best to post my resolutions as well as issues.

Change log before upgrade

I'd like to suggest that there be a changelog available to users BEFORE they do an upgrade.
Or, at the very least, a changelog in the HELP section after an upgrade - but it really should be someplace on the web for review before hand. (If it is here, please point me in that direction - I could not find it).

Apple has not announced any new versions of iTunes. We'll just have to wait and see.

Availability Check in CRM Sales Order

Hello,
We have a requirement of carrying out availability check even before entering the quantity in Sales order, meaning the availability of the product should be visible while the product is searched.
Is it possible to achieve the functionality? If yes then how should we achieve this? We are on CRM 6.0.

Availability check in PM order

Hi,
In a PM refurbishment order with components, when I press the 'Availibility Check' button before release of the order, I am getting the message "No check exists for planning (item: 0010, mat.:XXXXX" (Message no. C2119). I have already maintained the configuration for the plant and the order type in Maintenance and Service Orders-Functions and settings for order types-Availability check for material, PRTs and capacities-Define inspection control as 1 (Check during order creation) and component check type as 1 (check against preliminary planning) and collective conversion as 1 (User decides on creation if material is missing) for material availibility. Checking rule is PM (Checking rule for plant maintenance).
Please tell me what I am missing and what additional configuration I need to maintain. Our business purpose is to ultimately perform an ATP check before the components are committed from the warehouse for consumption after order release. But before that I need to ensure that the availability check is working correctly and not giving error as above.

You have to mantain the additional Availabilty Check 02 for 'Release' control parameters
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Maintenance and Service Processing -> Maintenance and Services Orders-> Functions and Settings for Order Types -> Availability Check for Material, PRTs and Capacities -> Define Inspection Control.
Then

We are just users here. Apple is not present. We can't answer your question. If you are a paid developer there is a paid class from which you can purchase hardware at reduced prices. Nothing is free for regular developers.

SAP BO Explorer XI4 available to test

Incorrect values in available budget in report S_KI4_38000050

Dear Experts,
We are getting incorrect values in available budget column against Fun/Fund center -commitment item in report S_KI4_38000050.
Actually we have posted entries against fund center/commitment item without releasing budget and it allowed post entries due to deactivated availability control.
Before Posting FI entry:
Release Budget=0
Assigned=0
Available=0
Commitment=0
After Posting entry of Rs. 5000
Release=0
Assigned= -5000
Available=5000
Commitment= -5000
Ques-1 Why available is 5000?
Now if I released some amount say 10000 then,
Release=10000
Assigned= -5000
Available=15000
Commitment= -5000
Ques-2 How to correct values mentioned above?
As I think, the correct values should be:
Release=10000
Assigned= 5000
Available=5000
Commitment= 5000

Surcode Plugin not available anymore

After installing a fresh Windows 8.1/64 with my CS6 Production Premium, within Media Encoder, the surcode plugin is not available anymore as before. I can only chose Dolby 2.0 but not the surcode 5.1 plugin.
How can this be fixed?

Did you purchase the plugin? The Surcode that was included with Encore was a TRIAL ONLY, would give 3 uses, then you had to buy it for like $300. So if you bought it, contact the vendor (Minnetonka Audio) to retrieve your serial/re-download or whatever needs to be done.

Events Affect Availability

Hi,
What does this option do on the information window for iCal server calendars? Mine is unchecked but my availability is as before the upgrade (i.e blocks me out when it should for making appointments).
I've searched all about but can find no references to this new option.

Events for calendars that have that option off should not affect availability.
For a user having this problem, can you use Safari to browse to the following URL:
https://<<yourserver>>:8443/calendars/users/<<uid>>/inbox/
Substituting your server's hostname for <<yourserver>> and the user id for <<<uid>>.
You will be prompted to authenticate - do so as that user.
In the resulting page of information search for 'calendar-free-busy-set'. Attach the property value to your reply.
Then get the user to toggle the availability option for the calendar. Refresh the Safari webpage and attach the new property value.

SQL Server Always on Availability

Test environment:
Just we took backup of master database from PRODUCTION (Always On) server then restored on QA server.
All DB's showing Recovery Pending. Now i want to delete all databases on QA. But while deleting Db's getting below error:
“ The database is currently joined to an availability group. Before you can drop the database you need to remove it from availability group”.
Since QA DB is standalone server we can't configure Always On or DB mirroring.
What is the alternative method for dropping or deleting all these databases with out configuring high availability?
This is only for testing. Once cleanup done we will restore DB's from backup.
Please suggest me. Actually this is customer requirement. Without restoring master we can achieve but i want to know the how to resolve this kind of errors.

I tested this by restoring the master of a HADR enabled instance onto a stand-alone instance.

So yes, it seems to be possible to do this by first dropping the AG and then dropping the database.
However I'd be concerned about the amount of 'unnecessary' metadata left behind by this approach. I really think best option is to script out your users (look into sp_help_rev_login) and
objects and have a 'warm' server on standby for disasters.
