10.5.5 Update destroys screen safer

After the upgrade from 10.5.4 Client to 10.5.5, the screen safer is broken. When the OS tries to start the screensafer, the screen goes black and one second after, reappears again, then goes black again, reappears, ... and so on. The screen is constantly blinking. When trying to access the screen safer panel in system preferences, the system preferences quits unexpectedly, so I can't even turn the screen safer off. I have no special screen safers installed, I use the built-in ones from apple.
I thought of bad permissions for the screen safer modules and therefore repaired permissions but this does not helps.
Any suggestions?

10.4.3 update destroys portrait lid closed mode with cinema display

The 10.4.3 update destroys the ability to use an external cinema display in closed lid mode. In particular using the rotate by 90 degrees option. Once set the external display goes nuts and can not be set back to landscape -- even in open lid mode. Zapping the PRam is not sufficient to reset the display.
Anyone solve this problem?

I'm interested in this issue too, as I intend to get an MBP but use it with an external screen and keyboard most of the time.
I'd also like to know about ventilation - where does the cooling air come from and go to? What parts need to be kept clear, and which bits can I have up against or close to a bookshelf or hutch or whatever?

PS, I think the glossy screens look fantastic, but also think I'll go for matte since they are more practical.

IPhone stuck at updating (loading) screen after ios7 update

I updated my iphone 4s to ios7 and itunes said it was succesfully updated and it would reboot but it's been on the updating/loading screen (apple logo with loading bar) for the past 20 minutes not moving at all...is it safe to unplug and try to reboot or should i just let it sit there for a while longer?

With the new update my screen is not wide enough for the format. How do I change this?

After the new update, the screen shows only 3/4 of what is presented. I have reduced the size of the print and that did not help. For instance, in typing this, once I got as far as "presented" the screen had to shift to the left to allow me to see what I was typing. It did this automatically. I don't know what caused this in the latest edition of the update, but it has caused me a number of problems in doing on line banking because unmovable windows do not show enough to allow me to hit the submit button.
I want to see the entire window when I log onto a site. When I now open Yahoo News for instance, I cannot see the last three inches. I can see them if I move the page over, but up until now, I have always seen the entire page when it comes up without having to take any action on my part.
Where do I go or what do I do to get it back to how it always functioned before?
I opened the learn system and it references a Mozilla tool bar which I do not have either. Don't know if this is relevant or not.

Firefox on Windows is now following display scaling options which may render text larger on high resolution displays. There's more than one way to resolve this problem. There's been a problem with this all day. Seems to be a server problem - wait a day and try again, or use itunes on the computer to update, that works.

Firefox will not open even after update or in safe mode using windows button + R

Tried solitions given on site using IE. Firefox will not start at all, did latest update and tried safe mode start.
Only get box stating it has encounterd a problem and crashed. I only use firefox and have so many bookmarks I really don't want to uninstall and start over.

How to update the screen in realtime?

Hey,
i am realy new in Indesign scripting
i want to do a simple client script… the script should receive data and write it to a textbox (or do sth else with it).
Everything works fine the only problem is: I dont know how to make this in realtime… for example every 10 seconds data comes from the server and should be directly displayed in the Indesign file.
I need sothing like update the screen or flush the display…

i try something like a remote control for indesign i am sending values to indesign to - for example- move a frame... rotate etc..

Used to zoom computer screen while using apple tv, since update, my screen is mirrored, but zooming doesn't show up

I used to be able to zoom in and out on my computer screen while using apple tv. For example, zoom in on a certain URL or ribbon. Since the update, my screen is mirrored, but when I zoom in and out to show my Word ribbon up close, etc., the zooming doesn't show up. My zoom preferences are set on computer.

You might try restarting your device, your router and your Apple TV.

I have a smartform which is being attached to a SO while creating from Idoc. Due to this smartform processing in update task, it is giving a update control screen and it is giving dump DYNPRO_SEND_IN_BACKGROUND.
My question: how to suppress this "Update Control" screen ? is there anything can be controlled from user status profile ?

Custom field not updating in screen of Purchase Order

We have customer field in header and item of purchase order. If we enter value in Header, this should automatically update in item also. We have made the changes, but issue is "If i enter the value in Header and save the purcahse Order with out enter any enter button, it is not showing the value in item. the value updated the table EKPO, but in the screen it is not showing. If come back to Purcahse Order, the value is updated in screens. "
Is that any way to solve this issue?

you can get_data and set_data
read header data
gs_header   = im_header->get_data( ).
      CALL METHOD im_header->get_items
        RECEIVING
          re_items = l_items.
      LOOP AT l_items INTO l_single.
        CALL METHOD l_single-item->get_data
          RECEIVING
            re_data = gs_lines.
After that you should use Method set_data.

Sorry, but as you already wrote, you should have never done this, and Apple will not service the phone anymore after you have opened the phone.
Your only chance would be finding a 3rd party repair service that can fix that for you. And we can't help you either, due to the Terms of Use in these discussions.

You need to look for an app that has a custom keyboard with the features you require, I suggest you find one without CAPSLOCK

Again you need to look at how to manage the device - these settings can be turned off already & you can edit the 'suggestions' too.
Settings > General > Keyboards > turn Auto-Correction Off.
Sadly you cannot disable autocorrect temporarily, so it's all or nothing.

Updating infotype screen with screen fields

I am working on a RFC to update infotype 0077. Infotype 77 has veteran status as screen fields from Q0077 structure. I am using HR_INFOTYPE_OPERATION to update 77. Could anyone please tell me how to update the screen and database table pa0077.

As for now, only thing that helped was an archive and install with preserve user settings. Seems after the reinstall of 10.4. everything that was weird has become normal again. I hope very much this state stays on for a while - or ever!
A comment to everybody: with problems that are common you get a lot of help from friendly users in here, but if like in my situation things get a bit more uncommon than the usual querks and troubles your bound to go through a whole workflow of tests and algorithms - i did learn some new things but eventually I had to go for the ultimate - the reinstall (of course, erase and install would have been more work.) and it's frustrating not to find out how it came to this problem. I wish I could nail it down to something I did mistakenly - i guess I'll find out next time.
