10 User or Unlimited?

Hello,
I have Leopard server (expires Dec. 31) running as a file server for about 15 people in my organization, and am planning on using it as the calendar server for about 100 people in my organization.
I'm getting my user list from an Active Directory domain, and import those users to the Open Directory on my OS X server in order to give them access to calendar services.
My question is, will I be needing an Unlimited license when I purchase the Leopard Server software? Or, since the users come from AD and are only using file services and calendars, can I just get by with the 10-user version of Leopard Server?
Thanks,
Chris

The 10-user license limit applies only to concurrent AFP users. No other servers have any limits, so you can have as many users in the directory as you like, and run any other network services (e.g. calendar server) without limit.

  • Upgrade ARD 10 users to Unlimited

    Hi,
    I've been using ARD for years and in this time we've expanded from 8 to many computers. So I'd love to get the unlimited users version of ARD: is there an upgrade possibility or do I have to pay the full amount again?

    Sorry, but there is no upgrade from the 10-user to Unlimited-user versions. You'll have to purchase a full new copy of the Unlimited-user version. Perhaps you can find someone to purchase the 10- user version from you.
    Regards.

  • How many users does a ASA5505-BUN-K9 support

    I know it is a stupid question.
    I say the answer is ten.  That means ten hosts can be behind the firewall and hit the internet.  The eleventh doesn't get to go out.
    I'm being told by a coworker that the "10" in the part number refers to the number of IPsec VPN peers.
    Who's right?
    I say if you want an unlimited number of users on the inside to be able to get to the internet, you need the ASA5505-SEC-BUN-K9

  • Can I give our AD users access to Visual Studio Online?

    Our AD is connected to our Azure Active Directory and synced via DirSync.
    Is it possible for me to give our AD users access to VSO and they use their organizational login credentials OR do they need to create Microsoft accounts?
    Our goal is single sign-on with our AD credentials. Please let me know if this is possible?
    Thanks, Sam

    Hi Sam,
    You can link your Visual Studio Online account with your Azure Activy directoy. Directory administrators control who joins the directory and has possible access to your Visual Studio Online account. The users can use Azure Active directory accounts
    to sign in Visual Stduio Online account. You can check this
    page for more information about manage organization access for your account.
    The numbers of users can access Visual Studio Online account depend on your license of Visual Studio Online account. You can add no more then 5 basic users and unlimited MSDN subscriptions if you have Basic license of Visual Studio Online account. Check
    this
    page for the pricing. However, you can assign team members stakeholder license if the users only view the project-level information. Check this
    page for more information about stakeholder license of Visual Studio Online.

  • Is Verizon's old unlimited plan really TRULY unlimited?

    My friend just got a 4G LTE Smartphone (Galaxy Nexus) and was able to keep his previous unlimited plan.  He wants to know if its truly unlimited.  His parents are on AT&T have their unlimited plans are throttled after becoming the 5% of the heaviest data users.  He wants to download a couple HD 1080p movies online which are quite large.  So basically lets say he used 50GB in two days, could Verizon cancel his service or throttle him if he's on 4G?  I know they do with 3G but how about 4G?

    Thanks.  Look like I found my answer.
    Does Network Optimization apply to customers using 4G services?
    No.  We reserve the right to include 4G LTE users later, but right now this only applies to the top 5% of users with unlimited data plans using 3G devices. If you have a 4G LTE device you will not be affected at this time.

  • Unlimited tablespace issue

    Hi,
    would like to have a better understanding on the unlimited tablespace privilege isue.
    1.) Am i right to say that when an account for example A is granted with the unlimted tablespace privilege, A can use any tablespace in the database, no restriction on the amount of size to be used?
    2.) For example, tables were created on tablespace T1_data. So when user account B insert records into the tables, where will the data be stored at? The default tablespace that the user B is assigned or the T1_data tablespace? Does the user account B need to be granted with the unlimited tablespace or quota on the T1_data tablespace?
    Thank You. Anyone can advise.

    To permit a user to use an unlimited amount of any tablespace in the database, grant the user the UNLIMITED TABLESPACE system privilege. This overrides all explicit tablespace quotas for the user. If you later revoke the privilege, then explicit quotas again take effect. You can grant this privilege only to users, not to roles.

    Doesn anyone know how to allow slapd do dump core when running on linux(redhat as4) while being installed as a non-root user?
    I have tried the normal route of setting core to unlimited and that user to unlimited also in limits.conf.
    I can do a kill -11 $pid with an instance running as root to get a core but no luck with an instance as a non-root user.

    I forgot to mention that I'm running 6.1.

    Don't use FT before Export-CSV.  That screws up the output and you probably aren't getting the information.  Try Get-User -ResultSize Unlimited | select name, displayname, OrganizationUnit, Re........ | Export-CSV -path <path for csv>.csv -NoType

  • Unlimited tablespace and dba_ts_quotas dynamic view

    Hi everybody,
    I have read an article about the dba_ts_quotas and particularly the following query :
    select username, tablespace_name,
    bytes/1024/1024 used,
    max_bytes/1024/1024 quota
    from dba_ts_quotas
    order by username
    which returns for each user and its tablespace the used tablespace and quota (size in the tablespace which can host user's objects).
    In the article , it is pointed out that if a user has unlimited tablespace on the tablespace then the column quota has the value of -0.000 , whereas in my database (oracle 10g v.2 on XP) the value -9,5367431 appears!!!!
    What may be the reason ...the different database versions????
    However the value -9,5367431 seems to be like 'irrelevant'.......
    Thanks , a lot

    Yes, and you can see it here:
    SQL> select username, tablespace_name,

  • "UNLIMITED TABLESPACE" is revoked - don't know who did that

    I got call from developer they encountered error from insert statement stating
    ERROR at line 1:
    ORA-01536: space quota exceeded for tablespace 'XXXXXXXX'
    I went there and found that "unlimited tablespace" is revoked from that user.
    I can not explain how it happened since I am the only DBA for this database. Although one of the developers has DBA privilege, I don't think he has the ability to do so. There is no reason for anybody to do so.
    The database is 9.2.0.7 with 2nd Quarter CPU patch.
    My question is that is there any other mechanism to make this happen? This is really strange to me.
    jzc

    This is most curious.
    It turns out that granting resource also grants unlimited tablespace and revoking resource also revokes unlimited tablespace. However, unlimited tablespace is not a privilege granted to resource, rather it is granted to the user.
    If I grant unlimited tablespace, I can see the user has it.
    If I then grant resource, the user keeps unlimited tablespace -- of course.
    If I revoke resource, unlimited tablespace goes away.
    If I then grant resource, unlimited tablespace comes back.
    resource has an interesting property in this -- at least in 10.2
    SQL> create user test01 identified by test01;
    User created.
    SQL> grant unlimited tablespace to test01;

  • Query to find dropped users in database

    Hi i have requirement to drop all invalid objects in database where user no longer exists in database, it is documented by oracle that if a cascade drop is performed on a userid that objects like MV & synonyms etc.. will become INVALID but will not be dropped from database.
    Anybody has any idea how we can find such INVALID objects of users whose id is dropped from database.
    Appreciate your help in advance.
    Thanks
    Abhinay

    It is documented that when you issue DROP USER some_user CASCADE user and all objects owned by that user are dropped. And if object is dropped it simply doesn't exist and therefore can be neither VALID nor INVALID. Unless you are talking about objects owned by some other user that is referencing dropped user object. Something like:
    SQL> create user u1 identified by u1 default tablespace users quota unlimited on users;
    User created.
    SQL> create user u2 identified by u2 default tablespace users quota unlimited on users;
    User created.
    SQL> create table u1.tbl as select * from dual;
    Table created.
    SQL> grant select on u1.tbl to u2;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> create view u2.u1_tbl_vw as select * from u1.tbl;
    View created.
    SQL> select object_name,object_type,status from dba_objects where owner = 'U2';
    OBJECT_NAME     OBJECT_TYPE             STATUS
    U1_TBL_VW       VIEW                    VALID
    SQL> drop user u1 cascade;
    User dropped.
    SQL> select object_name,object_type,status from dba_objects where owner = 'U2';
    OBJECT_NAME     OBJECT_TYPE             STATUS
    U1_TBL_VW       VIEW                    INVALID
    SQL>
    Then you have to query DBA_DEPENDENCIES before dropping the user:
    SQL> create user u1 identified by u1 default tablespace users quota unlimited on users;
    User created.
    SQL> create user u2 identified by u2 default tablespace users quota unlimited on users;
    User created.
    SQL> create table u1.tbl as select * from dual;
    Table created.
    SQL> grant select on u1.tbl to u2;
    Grant succeeded.
    SQL> create view u2.u1_tbl_vw as select * from u1.tbl;
    View created.
    SQL> column owner format a10
    SQL> column name format a10
    SQL> select owner,name,type from dba_dependencies where referenced_owner = 'U1';
    OWNER      NAME       TYPE
    U2         U1_TBL_VW  VIEW

  • In a family plan w/ unlimited data... Can I still AOL?

    Following the recent shared family plan announcement, I've found a number of posts relating to users with unlimited data, but no recent posts regarding my specific issue.  I was hoping somebody could provide some help.
    My phone is one line in an unlimited family plan.  I have a grandfathered data plan with unlimited data and unlimited mobile hotspot.  Switching to the shared family plan would benefit every line in the family except for mine.  I would like to see if it's possible to separate my line from the current family plan and keep my existing data services.
    I found the following discussion on these forums:

    The thread above seems to indicate that, yes, I could perform an "Assumption of Liability" on my current line, which would separate it from the family plan and preserve the existing service structure.  That discussion ended a year ago, though, and Verizon has had many opportunities to change their stance.
    Is this still possible, or will I have to revise my services no matter what?
    Thank you
    Sorry for posting this a second time.  I didn't notice the option to mark something as a question.  I've deleted my original post.

    After visiting a local Verizon store yesterday, I learned that this is still possible.
    The sales representative mentioned that there's a chance that the data plan will not transfer over once the AOL is finalized.  If that happens, I have 30 days to call Verizon to have the situation corrected.  Seems really ridiculous that a multi-billion dollar company can make an account change in their system, and it only MIGHT work.

  • Alter User Tablespace

    To alter user TESTER's tablespace on 11g
    BEFORE ALTER:
    select username, tablespace_name from dba_ts_quotas where username = 'TESTER';
    <u>USERNAME TABLESPACE_NAME</u>
    TESTER test_ts
    TESTER lob_ts
    ALTER:
    ALTER USER TESTER default tablespace USERS quota unlimited on USERS
    AFTER ALTER:
    select username, tablespace_name from dba_ts_quotas where username = 'TESTER';
    <u>USERNAME TABLESPACE_NAME</u>
    TESTER test_ts
    TESTER lob_ts
    TESTER USERS
    QUESTIONS:
    1) Why after the TESTER's tablespace is alterted, the old tablespace still showed up, i.e., test_ts and lob_ts?
    2) How can I drop the TESTER from the test_ts and lob_ts?
    3) After the TESTER is moved to the new tablespace, will the previously granted privileges still be effective? (such as resource, connect, and others)
    Thanks

    (1) & (2): A user can create objects in any tablespace he has quotas on, not just the default tablespace.
    If you want to prevent the users from creating anything in tablespaces which they already have existing quotas defined, you have to remove it by setting the quota to 0.
    Existing objects already created by the user will stay where they are though, so if your need is otherwise you will have to move the objects over to the new default tablespace manually.
    alter user tester quota 0 on test_ts;
    alter user tester quota 0 on lob_ts;(3): As you have not instructed Oracle to revoke any privileges, all other settings are unchanged.
