10g - pivot table

hi, experts,
I have a report with 3 columns
one is dimension column - region
other 2 columns are facts - revenueA, revenueB
I found that if all revenueB in all region is zero (not null)
all revenueB rows disappear.
if revenueB is null, all revenueB rows appear (but blank)
is it possbile to show all revenueB rows with zero?
thank you very much!

Hi,

  • Performing a specific calculation in a pivot table with BI Publisher 10g

    I am using BI Publisher 10g and new on it and I need to integrate a specific calculation measure in a pivot table
    The logic uses two measures that already exist in the report (Demand & PAB) and the required calculation is represented by a new measure/row (Calculated). The pivot time is in weeks
    Week w0     w1     w2     w3     w4     w5 .....
    Demand     d(w0)     d(w1)     d(w2)     d(w3)     d(w4)     d(w5) .....
    PAB     p(w0)     p(w1)     p(w2)     p(w3)     p(w4)     p(w5) .....
    Calculated     c(w0)     c(w1)     ....     ....     ....     c(w5) .....
    If p(w0) < d(w1) --> then c(w0) = p(w0) / d(w1)
    If not
    If p(w0) < d(w1) + d(w2) --> then c(w0) = p(w0) / ( d(w1) + d(w2) ) * 2
    If not
    If p(w0) < d(w1) + d(w2) + d(w3) --> then c(w0) = p(w0) / ( (dw1) + d(w2) + d(w3 ) ) * 3
    If not
    etc .... Same logics apply for c(w1) and so on
    Is such calculation logic achievable in Bi Publisher ? If yes, how would you do it ?
    Thanks for your time and support on this

    Can you use the logic that you specified in the data model (query) to generate the required data and then use it in the pivot table? That would be the easiest way to do it. Tweaking the code to include the conditional logic/calculated measures is not going to be straightforward..

    JOE

    Hi Joe
    In 10g
    1st change the View from Compound Layout to "Tabular View"
    2nd.. as you told the A-C total is needed, in the tabular view at Answers......navigate to that field/column  & find Sigma (Summation Symbol) ..
    3rd, by clicking on it..you will get the Totals in Bold Letters
    Please mark Correct if this helps you

  • No drill down to details pivot table 10g

    In OBIEE 10g a drill down to Siebel CRM (using rowid) works perfectly when using a table. However when using a pivot table on the same criteria with the navigation specified the drill down does not show up. Any ideas?

    Please try to go to criteria and punch the column format of that column and use "Column Heading Interaction "

  • How to Replace Null Value as 0 in an OBIEE11g Pivot Table? it's working 10g

    Hi,
    How to Replace Null Value as 0 in an OBIEE11g Pivot Table? it's working in obiee10g version.
    We have tried below methods
    1) criteria tab and edit the ‘column properties’ associated with your fact measure. Choose the ‘Data Format’ tab, tick to override the default format and choose ‘Custom’.
    It seems that the syntax for this custom format is positive-value-mask (semi colon) negative-value-mask (semi colon) null-mask. So this means we have a few options.
    E.g. if you want zeros (0) instead of null then enter:
    #,##0;-#,##0;0
    2) in that formula columns we have put it below case condition also ,
    Measure Column: Nom_amt --> edit formulas
    CASE WHEN Nom_amt IS NULL THEN 0 ELSE Nom_amt END
    3) we have uncheked IS NULL check box in the admin tool also
    I tried above formats still it's not working for me..kindly help me on this..
    thanks to do the needfull

  • OBIEE 10g dropping pivot table rows in Compound Layout

    I have a report with 8 pivot table views in the compound layout. In one of the pivot table views, two of the rows do not appear when viewing it in the compound layout. It also doesn't show most (but not all) of the metric values in the 4th metric column in the compound layout. However if you edit this view you will see all the rows and all the values. Furthermore, if you remove the second pivot table from the compound layout, the first pivot table displays everything correctly. No other pivot table removal has this effect. There is no obvious reason why two rows should be dropped from the view only in the compound layout. They don't appear to have anything in common but different from all the others. I can also remove the other 6 pivot table views and this all still happens. I've completely rebuilt the report and it still happens.
    This is 10.1.3.4.1.
    Interestingly, in the environment where this is happening, <ReportAggregateEnabled>false</ReportAggregateEnabled> is set in the instanceconfig.ini. If I move the report (copy the XML) to another environment with this set to TRUE, these problems go away, though it's not terribly clear why. Unfortunately it's not as simple as setting this variable to TRUE because the entire production environment is already running with it set to FALSE and switching this will likely cause other problems.
    Any thoughts? Thank you.

    All the additive metrics have an explicit SUM on them in the Criteria section. The metrics in the Criteria section that are of the form metric1/metric2 are set to DEFAULT.
    In pivot table 1 and 2, the aggregation rule on the metrics are all DEFAULT and report-based totals are checked for all (if I uncheck I get a group-by error).
    The two pivot tables are using two different sets of metrics (technically one is using metric1 and the other is using metric1*(-1) to reverse the sign).
    I really suspect there is a weird aggregation bug here that the ReportAggregateEnabled setting seems to resolve. I'm hoping to switch that to TRUE in the env. where this is not working and see if it fixes it.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Customizing the Cell Content of a Pivot Table

    Hi,
    I have been away from ADF for a few years (since 10g v 1.3.1) and am quite impressed with all the Faces functionality added to the 11g release. The application I wrote relied heavily on pivot tables which back then, I had to use stored procedures in the database and dynamically views to display information. I am very interested in moving this application to 11g and taking advantage of the PivotTable component. One thing the application does is change the style of cells based upon the object being presented. I have been reading:
    Oracle® Fusion Middleware
    Web User Interface Developer's Guide for Oracle Application
    Development Framework
    11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
    B31973-03
    And am very interested in section 26.8 Customizing the Cell Content of a Pivot Table.
    I easily created a pivot table and would like to change the formatting of various cells. I created a backing bean for a test page and added the Example 26–4 Sample Code to Change Style and Text Style in a Pivot Table to the bean.
    public CellFormat getDataFormat(DataCellContext cxt)
    CellFormat cellFormat = new CellFormat(null, null, null);
    QDR qdr = cxt.getQDR();
    //Obtain a reference to the product category column.
    Object productCateg = qdr.getDimMember("ProductCategory");
    //Obtain a reference to the product column.
    Object product = qdr.getDimMember("ProductId");
    if (productCateg != null && productCateg.toString().equals("Sales Total"))
    cellFormat.setTextStyle("font-weight:bold")
    cellFormat.setStyle("background-color:#C0C0C0");
    else if (product != null && product.toString().equals("Sales Total")
    cellFormat.setTextStyle("font-weight:bold");
    cellFormat.setStyle("background-color:#C0C0C0");
    return cellFormat;
    Almost verbatim except changed the literals to select data in my use case domain. My question is: How do I invoke this message from my pivot table? I need to pass it a instance of the DataCellContext. The example is great and illustrates what I am looking to do but does not go into the implementation details required. Is there a sample app available for download that demonstrates these capabilities?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hello,
    I haven't fully understood your question.
    Is it: How do I call the getDataFormat() method from my pivot table?
    If so , you need to set the dataFormat attribute of your pivot table.
    ex: <dvt:pivotTable id="pt2" var="cellData" varStatus="cellStatus"
    value="#{bindings.YourView.pivotTableModel}"
    headerFormat="#{viewScope.yourBean.getHeaderFormat}"
    *dataFormat="#{viewScope.yourBean.getDataFormat}"*
    contentDelivery="immediate" pivotEnabled="false"
    columnFetchSize="-1" rowFetchSize="-1"
    />
    I also put the *headerFormat* attribute which allows to customize the headers
    I hope I understood your question ;)

  • Pivot table group by is not working

    Hi Gurus,
    I am using OBIEE 10g
    I have Dimension and Fact table. In fact table i have some measures and which are calculated and some are aggregated functions. The Geo dimension has Division, region and Market.
    In pivot table when i am grouping the values based on the Division & grand total the aggregate columns are showing the value proper where as the calculated columns gives wrong values.
    Example : Measure1 : Sum(tickets), Measure 2: Sum(repeat ticket), Measure 3: sum(repeat ticket) / Sum(ticktets)
    When i am grouping based on Division, i am getting the proper values for Measure 1 and measure 2 where as measure 3 is giving me different value or some time a region value.
    I am not able to figure out where grouping total will be done. i checked the log file it has the simple SQL query, but i dont no where it groups the data.
    Please help me its Urgent.
    Regards
    Ali

    Hi Deepak,
    Thanks for taking time and seeing my query.
    In Pivot table i am using the diemnsions are Division and Region. When i am making the total of based on Division it is taking random region values and stamping on the total of division where as grand total is giving correct value. In below example Measure1 and Measure 2 is Sum( Measure1), Sum(Measure 2) where as Measure 3 is Weigted average of Sum(Measure2) / Sum(Measure1). It is giving the value correct for indivual regions where as the division total is getting worng.
    Example :
    Division Region Measure1 Measure 2 Measure3
    Northeast NY 100 50 .5
    Northeast NJ 50 25 .5
    Northeast CI 100 25 0.25
    Northeast total :   250          100        .4
    i want the above value but i am getting like this
    Division Region Measure1 Measure 2 Measure3
    Northeast NY 100 50 .5
    Northeast NJ 50 25 .5
    Northeast CI 100 25 0.25
    Northeast total :   250          100       .5
    Let me know if you need any further information.

  • Remove the word "Total" in Row Totals in Pivot Tables

    Hi,
    Is it possible to remove the word "Total" that appears in Row Totals in Pivot Tables?
    Eg. If there are 2 Dimension Columns -- Year and Month .... and if we do row totals on Year
    The total appears as *'2008 Total'* or *'2009 Total'* etc. i.e. Each of the Values is followed by the word 'Total'.
    However, i would like the totals to display only the values '2008' or '2009' without the word 'Total'.
    Is this possible in OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0 ?
    Thanks,
    Ab

    Hi ,
    Goto Total -> Format label and type in @.This will remove the word"Total". I have tested this in 10g, try this and let me know if it works in 11g.

  • 11g - pivot table bug?

    hi, experts,
    I have run the utility to migrate 10g dashboard to 11g.
    after the migration, I found that there is problem in a pivot table report,
    the report contains 3 columns:
    brand , subbrand, quantity
    brand and subbrand are dimension
    quantity is fact.
    when brand and subbrand are placed in ROWS, quantity in MEASURES, Measure Labels in Columns, the pivot table gives correct result.
    however, when brand is placed in ROWS, quantity in MEASURES, subbrand and Measure Labels in Columns,
    the pivot table gives incorrect result,
    some rows are duplicated.
    how to solve?

    Hi,
    Yes, we too faced this issue in 1.5 (seems a bug), but ultimately we had to make the application work for the column heading.
    Use left and Right Indent accordingly to make the text appear to your requirement. We specified left indent 20 for our reports for making it centered, so you can try a value which will align for your requirement.
    And thus meeting the requirement :)
    Hope this answered.

  • 11g Pivot Table Prompt Totals

    I've created a pivot table in which I have two columns listed in the Pivot Table Prompts area (formerly known as the pages area in 10g).
    When editing the pivot table, the Layout section shows a summation icon beside the words Pivot Table Prompts. I've clicked that icon, and selected before.
    The dropdown list for the first-listed (leftmost) column in the Pivot Table Prompts now shows an entry of All Values above the detail values, as it should.
    However, the dropdown list for the other column does NOT have an All Values entry.
    Furthermore, selecting the All Values entry for the first column HIDES the dropdown list for the second column entirely, and the pivot table shows a grand total of all values for the second column.
    This makes no sense. I want to see All Values for my first column, and still be able to select individual values for my second column, or perhaps select an All Values for the second column.
    There is zero documentation on this feature, as the OBIEE 11g User Guide does not contain the string Pivot Table Prompts.
    Has this been reported as a bug?

    Well, I'll be darned. You are exactly right. 10g behaves exactly the same way when using two page dropdowns.
    So yes, it was inherited from 10g. But then again, I inherited high blood pressure from my parents. That doesn't make it a desirable trait.
    And there IS an obvious workaround: just create an ALL VALUES calculated member for each of those dimensions.
    Thanks for the reply. Credit given for the correct answer.

  • One question in measures table heading of a pivot table view when using 11g

    Hi experts,
    I have been working on OBIEE 10g for 2 years, and lately I started developing on OBIEE 11g. It is great to discover so many new features which make reporting so much easier and look better, meanwhile, I got confused by some detail changes they have made. I was able to overcome most of the difficulties I have met with, but now there is *1* I can not figure out. Any idea or suggestion is appreciated.
    In OBIEE 10g, when we develop a report using a pivot table, we put column A and B in Rows aera and column C Measures aera, the result would look like this:
    / / A / / B / / C / /
    //VA1 //VB1// VC1//
    //VA1// VB1 //VC1//
    But now I am using 11g, when I put these columns in the same aeres as I did in 10g, the result is surprising like this:
    / / BLANK / / C / /
    / / A / / B / / blank //
    //VA1 //VB1/|/ VC1//
    //VA1/|/VB1 // VC1//
    It looks weird that it should put Rows labels and Measure labels in different lines and create blank labels, and barely makes any sense. I am OK with the blank above the Row labels, but not with the blank below the measure label. A blank label that separates a label and its value is not what I want.
    Can anyone help me to make the pivot table look the same as it does in 10g? Or at least remove the blank label below the Measure label?
    Thanks in advance.
