I found a workaround(creating the user by hand and assigning him to the role) but that gives me another error cause the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO is not in the customer namespace; see long text
this really is a pain in the butt cause rest of installation after giving enough space to do the import of ABAP, ran rather smooth until this SAPJSF issue.

  • Oracle 10g on solaris 10 : kernel parameter warning

I am installing oracle 10g on Solaris 10.
I have a warning on kernel parameter missing (shminfo_shmmax for example) during the system check.
I understood that with the 10 version of solaris these parameters are replaced by ressources control and I have checked them. They are correctly setted.
Need I do something before continue the install to release the warning or can I bypass this issue and continue the install as I have no warning ?
    Thanks for your answers.
    Sorry for my english.

You are right. Since Solaris 10 kernel parameters settings in /etc/system is obsolete and some parameters are deprecated.
The steps how to configure required parameters you can find in my paper (step #1.): http://ivan.kartik.sk/oracle/install_ora10gR2_solaris.html
I bypass this issue and continue the install as I have no warning You can safely bypass this issue during installation process but you should set these parameters after installation.

  • How to Configure the system to use an firm's accepted warning banner in 10g

    Hello.
I need to configure the system (oracle 10.2) to use an firm's accepted warning banner. I was able to do it in version 11 by putting entries in sqlnet.ora file. It then displayed when connectting as user (sys, system). I tried the same with 10.2 version and it doesnt display. Do i need to do anything different in 10g. I could not find the lead on googling it.
I used theses entries in sqlnet.ora for 11g
    SEC_USER_UNAUTHORIZED_ACCESS_BANNER = <path>\banner2.txt
    SEC_USER_AUDIT_ACTION_BANNER = <path>\banner.txt
Do we have to do differenetly in 10g. please help
    Thank you very much

Thanks for responding. Is there a way to create a banner in 10.2 version of oracle. I need to didpaly it as part of checklist i am working on for 10g.
ThanksUnfortunately, auditors and security nazis dream up "requirements" without ever considering the capabilities and limitations of the selected technology. A lot of these guys get their technical knowledge from American Airlines Magazine when they get tired of reading the SkyMall catalog.
Sometimes you just have to document the exception, get a manager's signature, and keep it on file.

  • ExtStringTemplate Warning while Converting a SQLServer DB to Oracle 10g

    Hi everyone,
I hope this is the right Forum to ask about this. I apologize if I misplaced it
I am currently having some trouble with the migration of a MSSQL Database (2000 with all its stored Procedures) to ORACLE 10g. I am using the offline Capture Method to generate the captured Model without any errors or warnings.
But as soon as I convert the Captured Model to the ORACLE Model I get a bunch of Warning Messages that read as follows:
    Oracle.dbtools.migration.parser.ext.ExtStringTemplate.setValue(ExtStringTemplate.java:134)
Clicking on Details does not give any further clues on which Object caused it during conversion.
During the last few Days I tried to find Information about this Warning Message searching several Blogs and Forums, but to no avail.
I would like to know how I could solve this problem or if it even might influence the applications later on that are supposed to work with the converted Database.
Any help with this is highly appreciated

Thank you very much for your Reply.
Sorry that I couldn't write earlier.
--Does this stop your Oracle Model from being converted?
The conversion process completes with a few errors that I'm going to fix by hand.
--Is there anymore to the Exception ?
Concerning the Details button: When I click Details it only shows the same exception Message as posted above. Unfortunatly no stacktrace. But maybe there is some kind of logfile outside the IDE which I am not aware of yet, since I am rather new to working with sql developer. If you could point me to the stacktrace I will be happy to post it here.
--Can you skim through some of your converted procedures to see if anything stands out
I did as you suggested. There was a strange behaviour in a Procedure where there was a construct like N'<somestring>' in the original Transact SQL. Somehow every SQL statement that follows is recognized as a String, hence the code is not compiling at all.
There are also some Prcedures which exit with the message: "unexpected end of Subtree"

I did check the return type on systimestamp it is a timestamp with time zone.
I also different column type of just timestamp with the same warning message. Any ideas how to use a timestamp or timestamp with time zone datatype and not get a warning message?
Also how do I see the warning messages in sql+ there is no 'show warnings'

  • ADF is not working in JDeveloper 10g

    Hi all,
I've been trying to get ADF to work with JDeveloper 10g but to no avail. I've followed the steps from the following link: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/how-to-adf-faces-10gjdev-085657.html
the only thing that i fail to follow is in creating the library. I have only the adf-faces-api.jar and adf-faces-impl.jar but not the share-1_1_18.jar
I do not know whether this is creating the problem as my error message is not helpful.

Now that I've looked at the linked article...
That was showing you how to use a very early version of ADF Faces (a pre-release, in fact) with a very old version of JDeveloper. That document is nearly 9 years old.
Starting with JDeveloper 10.1.3, ADF Faces is "built-in"
And since JDeveloper 10.1.3.x, we have had both the JDeveloper 11.1.1.x and 11.1.2.x series released.
Why are you still using 10.1.2.x?

I had this problem and resolved it by transporting the file to the installation server with the correct ftp datatype (binary).
On page 54 of the install guide (..Server\Oracle_Business_Intelligence\doc\doc\bi.1013\b31765.pdf) that comes with the installation files, there is an instruction to make sure that any ftp activity is done in binary.
This may not have occured with the license.xml file if you use a tool which offers the "feature" of automatic datatype recognition.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle 10g on HP-UX, Terrible Poor Performance!!

    Hi All,
    I setup an Oracle 10g on HP-UX 11iv1. Server is a HP 9000, 4 CPUs (750
MHZ). It is connected to Disk System 2405 (Virtual Array 7110). Fiber
Channels are connected at 2 GB speed.
I installed a cluster 10g database. First I installed CRS and after
that I installed oracle database. ( I want to test clustered database
    with one instance)
I installed every thing line by line as oracle document wrote.
All the things, kernel parameters, patches, are like oracle wrote in
    its document.
I installed Golden quality package June 2004.
I increased shmmax to 2.3 G . My SGA is 1.7 G And change some other
parameters as Sandy Gruver wrote in Best Practices for Oracle on HPUX.
I used oracle new storage system called ASM for this case.
When I put the system under the load, I was monitoring the system
    carefully.
I started gmp. When we sent some quarries to database (It is not heavy
load, I tested it with a Linux system on proliant ML570 without any
problem), suddenly DISK section in gpm changed to red (critical ) I
read the warning. It said "Disk bottleneck probability = 100%". I
changed the output of disk report to "Report IO by Disk"
"DISK%" was 100% and "RAW IO RT" was about 1000 for two disks ( This
two disks dedicated for ASM). In this situation CPU idle time was 1% or
2% for all the CPUs but load average was about 1. Performance is not
acceptable at all ( In comparison with Oracle that installed on Linux).
Glance reported Disk was in Critical situation.
I think the problem is IO or something about Disks
I used HP Disk System 2405. Fibber channels on both server side and
Disk Array side are configured at 2 Gb and topologies are
    PTTOPT_FABRIC.
Is it ok that RAW IO RT about 1000 for each LUN?
    Why Disk% in glance/report IO BY Disk/ was 100%?
I found an error in STM logs about I/O.It said:
    Entry type: I/O error
    Product: Fiber Channel Interface
    Logger: td
It logged this error about 12 times during the test.Any comment?
    Regards,
    Hasan

Sorry, I have not a solution for your problem, but similar things happen on our installation on Solaris 5.8 with Oracle 10:
I have a banking business solution from Windows/SQL Server 2000 to Sun Solaris/ORACLE 10g migrated. In the test environment everything was working fine. On the production system we have very poor DB performance. About 100 times slower than SQL Server 2000!
    Environment at Customer Server Side:
Hardware: SUN Fire 4 CPU's, OS: Solaris 5.8, DB Oracle 8 and 10
    Data Storage: Em2
DB access thru OCCI [Environment:OBJECT, Connection Pool, Create Connection]
Depending from older applications it's necessary to run ORACLE 8 as well on the same Server. Since we have running the new solution, which is using ORACLE 10, the listener for ORACLE 8 is frequently gone (or by someone killed?). The performance of the whole ORACLE 10 Environment is very poor. As a result of my analyse I figured out that the process to create a connection to the connection pool takes up to 14 seconds. Now I am wondering if it a problem to run different ORACLE versions on the same Server? The Customer has installed/created the new ORACLE 10 DB with the same user account (oracle) as the older version. To run the new solution we have to change the ORACLE environment settings manually. All hints/suggestions to solve this problem are welcome. Thanks in advance.

    1. Since you can not reproduce the issue from sysadmin responsibility can we say the issue specific to Receivables Manager

    2. You said before: "Concurrent process for XML Publisher fails with warning. Cannot see Diagnostics
--> XML output completely. Only first page visible. Buttons and Menu items
disabled not allowing to view the whole XML file to troubleshoot for
    correct/incorrect tags.":
    Is the above mean :
-The xml publisher report completed but you can not view the whole XML file
-Or the xml publisher report error out with "Jave.sql SQL Exception No corresponding LOB data found: select File_data_dbms_lob.."
    Thanks.
