10g SE / EE on 64 Bit Windows (AMD64/Intel EM64T)

I would like to know the release date for Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition 10g for the 64 bit on Windows for AMD64/Intel EM64T.
Currently Oracle Database 10g Release 1 (10.1.0.2) for Microsoft Windows (64-bit Itanium) is available for download at OTN.

Link to documentation (installation paper):

So what you are saying is that I have to install that package? Am new to Linux how should I installed those packages not installed using the RPM command?Yes.

  • OWB R2 for 64 bit Windows (AMD/Intel)

    Hi,
We were unable to find the owb R2 version for 64 bit windows AMD/Intel in the downloads page at oracle.
We then found out that we need to use the owb R1 (10.1.0.4) 64 bit version and then apply some patches.
We downloaded the zip file p4703215_10104_WINNT64.zip from the oracle site.
But unzipping this file gives the error below
"The image file C:\DOCUM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\Temporary Direcotry 3 for p4703215_10104_WINNT64.zip \Disk1\setup.exe is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine."
Has anyone faced this problem before? Our machine is a 64 bit machine and when we try installing this on a 32 bit machine we get a message saying "this is not for a 32 bit machine"
Any help or pointers in this regard will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks!
    AM

yes we are using windows 64 bit.
We have found out from oracle that the R2 windows is compatible for bot 32 and 64. So there is no specific one for R2.
    Thanks.

  • 64-bit Java on Intel EM64T

    Hey all,
I'm migrating a Java application of mine to a new server, and I wanted to use the new Intel Xeon 5100 sequence chips. However, this application currently uses 8GB of RAM, and we will be placing 16GB on this new server.
Does J2SE support EM64T yet? The Java system configuration page says so, but all of the downloads cite only AMD64 and don't even mention EM64T.
    Thanks for any responses.

  • Difference between Oracle 10g 64 bit /Oracle 10g 32 Bit Windows

    Hi all
We are using 10g Oracle 32 Bit windows as well as Oracle 10g 64 Windows at some installations.
Now we tested these two systems in our office for Testing purpose on two similar machines i.e
Intel i3 with 4 GB RAM. Database size approx 4GB
We had the feeling that :-
    a) Oracle datafile Filesize limitation may be there in 32 Bit system but we saw that physically around 3.5 GB datafile size
is created in 32 Bit windows also
    b) Data Fetching Speed -.We thought that data fetching speed would be higher in 64 Bit machine. But we proved to
be wrong. Our sample data had approx 7 Millions records (based on Client Live data for 3 years) total in around 20 transaction tables. Further there were other additional 100-150 tables but very smaller ones just master tables
We used the same client end machine and same Front end and same queries on both servers. To our surpriise - We got the almost similar results in terms of data fetching time in both the 32 Bit as well as 64 Bit windows with similar Oracle 10g 32 bit and Oracle 64 Bit respectively
Further we find that Anti Virus Programme which may be any say Symatentic or other - troubles much more in Windows 64 Bit environment as compared to Windows 32 Bit environment from settings point of view.
    Kindly advise as to
    a) Whether our above observations are correct
    b) Now under what situations should we use Oracle 10g 64 Windows as compared to Oracle 10g 32 Bit windows

  • 64-bit drivers for Windows AMD64?

Windows XP 64-Bit Edition for AMD64 have been available for MSDN developers for quite awhile already.
Where can we find any 64-bit beta drivers for this platform?
Beta NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers for AMD64 are available for NVIDIA developers today according to this document:
    http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/DownloadableAssets/NVIDIA_AMD64_Rev_Final_Aug03.pdf
"Developer versions of the AMD64 NVIDIA display drivers are available to registered NVIDIA partners at http://www.nvidia.com."
I hope MSI will release it together with other Windows AMD64 beta drivers, because a beta driver is much better than no driver at all...

I know that, but MSI is a OEM partner of Nvidia and have access to all Nvidias beta drivers.  If MSI wants to release a beta Nvidia Windows display driver for AMD64 they can...

  • Does JRE 6 support Windows Vista 64 bit with AMD64?

Although I have installed JRE-6-beta2-windows-amd64 and JRE-6-beta2-windows-i586 seperately and together on my AMD 64 system running Vista RC1 Build 5727, java does not appear in The Control Panel, nor is it mentioned anywhere in Internet Explorer Options.
    So, is this configuration supported?
As a side issue, is this why Flash Player won't install either?

Is this a known crash, and if so: any pointers to the bugid would be very appreciated!

    Thank you.
    Going through the suggestions:
    * custom/3rd party JNI components: while the jvm args indicate a use of such components, there is actually none being used in this instance.
    * overcommit: I'm not sure whether windows has any tunables for this, but from the memory information in the hs_err file I think this is not a problem here. The JVM has Xmx1500 + Xmn128 + permsize of 128, even with generous margins this should fit well into the 4G still available physical memory on the server.
    * OS support: I'd believe that Windows 2008 SP1 is supported :)
    * OS updates: I will check with the customer whether all updates are applied, and also whether an update of the OS itself is possible.
    * hotspot/gc tuning: there are various tuning options applied, which have been determined by testing the application itself (load, functional, endurance tests), and have been found to work stable
There is one bug we're are aware of in 6u21 which affects the application (http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6938026), but without being able to decode the jvm.dll+0x1291fb address I cannot say for sure that this is the same bug.

  • Installation of Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.3 on Windows 2003 Server

    Hi Guys,
We have to install Oracle Database 10g 10.2.0.3 on Windows 2003.
I read on net, metalink and OTN as well and it seems there is no single 10.2.0.3 setup available to do so.
One has to upgrade from earlier version to 10.2.0.3.
Is that so? Is this the only way?
I mean if we want new and fresh 10.2.0.3 then don't we have installer for it?
In this case we will have to install 10.1.0.2 and then upgrade? (we have 10.1.0.2 installable with us)
And if at all that is the only path available then for 10.2.0.3 on Windows 32 bit - Patchset 5337014 i.e. p5337014_10203_WINNT.ZIP from metalink is the correct patch?
    Thanks in advance!

So thought is my opatch the culprit? Its version as seen in above dump is - 1.0.0.0.48, so is that causing any problem? And if yes, then how to get it resolved?
    FYI: OS - Win2003, DB - 10.1.0.2.0
Can any one help in this?
    Thanks!

  • Websphere 6.1 64-Bit (Windows)  and native libraries shipped with CF8

After more deep tests, i found the following issues:
    - Reporting does not work, because ctr files are crypted (why
?) and can't be decrypted (failed to load native library
    nvr_win.dll)
It is possible to provide an 64-Bit version of nvr_win.dll ?
Or, simply, how to decrypt ctr files ?
    - CFIMAGE runs slow, because JAI uses Sun's Advanced Imaging
API. This API uses native DLL's and there is no 64-Bit Windows
version available. This API may run without the native DLL's, but
it's really slow (An "ThreadMonitor W WSVR0605W:.." may be

    A. You can, After installation in obiee client and create DSN and you can connect online mode to obiee server suite.
If you want check serives are running or not use below command.

we upgrade 10.2.4.0 database from 32bit (Windows 2003 os ) to 64 bit (windows).
    the steps:
    1. Install 10g server and client in 64 bit server and run patch set.
    2. Restore rman db backup (from 32bit machine ) to 64bit server. Migrate database in new server.
    3. setup EM db console in new server.

  • 64 bit Windows, 64 Bit Office, 32 bit database, 160 headaches

    Hi all!
I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers here. The setup I'm using is as follows:
    Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1
    Office 2010 x64
    Oracle 10g 10.2.0 32 bit client
    Oracle 10g 32 bit database
    Java 7 Update 25 (64 bit), version 7.0.250
Java SE Development Kit 7 Update (64 bit), version 1.7.0.250
(Also just downloaded SQL Developer 4, but that's a different story)
...and I'm trying to create an ODBC connecton in Excel. Now - obviously I can't use 32 bit ODBC in 64 bit Excel, as it's the wrong architecture type. I've been searching around and trying to answer the following questions:
Can I have separate 64 bit ORacle drivers just sitting in a folder by themselves, and use those to communicate with a 32 bit Oracle DB?
If so, do they exist anywhere for download?
I've tried downloading ODAC10203x64.zip, but when unpacked and opened, I get an error saying "Java 2 platform standard edition binary has stopped working", and I get no further. Further questions are:
What does that error mean? Can it be remedied?
If not, is it possible just to unpack all the jar files, find the drivers in there, register them and use them that way?
    Thanks in advance!
    James

Your forgetting that Apple called this a cutting edge product and then failed to support it on cutting edge hardware (v64). The fact that the call center is telling people to roll back to 10 year old technology would be like Microsoft telling iTunes users to roll back OSx. That's not what an early adopter or tech enthusiast wants to hear.
It just appears out of step with a company looking towards the future. I'll bet it wasnt a business decision but a test issue where the Apple Test team chose to cut support because there were too many bugs and not enough time to fix them.
Bottom line, rather than take the "I Hate Microsoft" line, how about recognize a gap in delivery?

  • 10g EE setup for 64-bit OS

    Hi All,

NLSRTL Version 10.2.0.1.0 - ProductionNow I need to support Windows 7 64-bit OS. I cannot find the same version setup for 64-bit OS.
Can anyone provide me the link?
    I appreciate your help.

    Hello,
Oracle Database 10g Express Edition Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Product
...Now I need to support Windows 7 64-bit OS. I cannot find the same version setup for 64-bit OS.
Can anyone provide me the link? No, in fact, Oracle *10g XE* is not certified on Windows *7*. As previously posted in *10.2* only *10.2.0.5* is certified in this platform, but *10gXE* is in *10.2.0.1*.
To migrate from *10gXE* to *10.2.0.5* you'll need to download patchs from My Oracle Support, so you need to pay for a license.
    So, I see 2 ways:
    - 1. Take a SE1 (Standard Edition 1), the License is rather cheap. Then, all the patchs will be available.
    - 2. Install Oracle *11.2 XE*.
Oracle *11.2 XE* is certified on Windows *7*. It's already available for *32 Bit* Windows platform in Beta release, but I've heard that the Production Release will be available for *64 Bit* Windows platform:
Re: What is the plan for 64-bit Windows?
    You may try it:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/express-edition/11gxe-beta-download-302519.html
You'll find here the forum for Oracle *11.2 XE*:
