14 hours indexing, still no backups

Yesterday, at about 6pm, instead of backing up with Time Machine spotlight and Time Machine said that they were indexing my Time Capsule backup.
After 14 hours, I restarted the computer and it was still indexing. After restarting I told Time Machine to backup and instead of backing up it has started to index again.
Any idea how lomg does it take? As I can see, if after 14 hours it hasn't finished, there's probably some problem going on!

Yes, that's much too long. Try excluding the TC from Spotlight (System Preferences > Spotlight > Privacy). Once you get a good backup, if you want them indexed, remove the exclusion. It should do a complete re-index.
If that doesn't help, try repairing the sparse bundle, per #A5 of the Troubleshooting Tip in the link from Jolly Giant.
