16-bit 2's complementAny online cal

I have four hex characters which represent a signed integer in 16-bit 2's complement. How do I 'decode" the hex into the correct integer? Do I convert the hex to binary, invert, and then convert to decimal? Any online calculators that I can use to check my work?

Icloud online cal shows wrong date?

the online icloud calender is showing the wrong date. events created on my iphone 4s for the saturday are moved to the friday ( day before) when i move them on the online calender back to the saturday they then move on the phone to the sunday so basicly the icloud online is a day behind. At icloud.com , click the cloud icon at top left in any application, then click your name at top right in the next pane. Set the time zone to what it should be.

Is Flash Player 11.7.700.224 really compatable with Windows Vista 64-bit?

I'm trying to figure why my Flash Player disappears from time to time when I'm watching a clip/video and then my Internet Explorer 9 typically stops working, it closes down, and then it opens up and asks me if I want to restore the browsing session. I'm thinking that this has to do with having both Internet Explorer 9 32-bit and 64-bit. I read online that Internet Explorer 9 has both and this is why I'm questioning whether Flash Player 11.7.700.224 might be contributing to this issue or was Window Vista 64-bit left off the system requirements in error?

HP C4380 software fails to install on Win 7 64 bit

My HP C4380 printer scanner stopped working, so I added another printer with working scanner to my wireless network, but then I could not get my HP C4380 to run even though it was default, so I uninstalled the other printer because I prefer my HP. After uninstalling the other printer, I could not run my HP at all. I received the message it wasn't connected. I tried to hardwire it. No luck. Then, I followed scan and print doctor which told me to uninstall and reinstall software. I uninstalled and then used my HP cd to reinstall and got message it did not meet system requirements (Win 7 64 bit). I went online and tried to reinstall the C4380 software. The software appears to be installed but my printer shows up as an "unspecified" rectangular box under devices instead of a printer under "printers." So now I have no printer. How do I correct this problem?? Thank you.

Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that, your HP Photosmart c4380 software is failing to install on Windows 7. I am
happy to help you with this issue! I have a couple of questions for you:
Can you make copies with the printer?
Is the power cable plugged directly into the wall, or a surge protector? Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
In the meantime, I would try uninstalling the software, and then re-installing again, using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit

I can't find an article here in this community, detailing how to intsal Windows 7 64 bit on a Mac Pro 2006 Model 1,1. It was a detailed (and humorous) article with step by step installation, somewhere in Apple Support Communities. Just posting this if anyone knows anything of the person who wrote it or the article itself. I searched it on Google. Saw it once, but like an idiot I didn't bookmark it.

You are in for a world of fun and hurt as booting from the DVD is the hard part.
If you set it up in a VM you can more easily change the DVD to be bootable using Imgburn

Can also install one 32-bit OS version and from in there install the 2nd.
Mac Pro 2008 and later boot 64-bit fine (except one or two that had issue)

Doing the base install on a PC or another Mac is what I use now, then just walk the drive over and plug in and finish the install on my 1,1.

Password should not be displayed in Windows 64 bit machine

I am not sure whether this category is apt for my question.
We have a requirement to mask the password entry in our utility in Windows 64 bit machine.
I was trying to run the following from a 64 bit Windows machine .

Thanks, I was pretty sure they should be there, but since I don't use them often, I was in doubt.
I can't think of anything I did to remove the filter gallery - I'm really intrigued about how could it disappear (?). I supposed the 32 and 64 bit version of the 8bf file would be different, but wanted to give it a try just in case...
After wasting some time trying to find the 64 bit "filter gallery.8bf" online, I've decided to just reinstall CS5 and yes, just as you say, now the filters are there. It's a good thing that reinstalling CS5 somehow keeps intact your preferences, workspace and 3rd party plugins! I just had to run the Adobe updater and everything's back to normal.

When i connect my iphone to my laptop it says please connect your phone to a computer using a 32 bit version of windows vista or windows xp. And im using vista. Whats wrong?

Should the "filter gallery" filters be displayed in CS5 64 bit filter menu?

I would swear I had the "filter gallery" filters available (artistic, brush strokes, sketch...) from CS5 64 bit. But tonight I realised I can only see them in CS5 32 bit, not in the 64 bit version. Is this normal?
Please note I'm *not* talking about them being grayed out due to the image being in 16 bit. It's just that they do not appear on the menu as they do in the 32 bit version. I've tried copying the filter gallery.8bf file from 32 version folder to 64 one, but it doesn't work.

Flash keeps crashing in FF 3.6.6 Vista 64-bit

Using Vista 64-bit here. Play online games requiring Flash Player. For past 4 days, flash player has crashed numerous times within the same game session. I always click on "Send Report." Have had no success with any of the following: uninstall/reinstall Flash Player 9 & 10 for FF (several times and always uninstall using the Flash Uninstaller), changing timeout config to "-1," disabling add-ons one at a time; , uninstall/reinstall Flash 10 & 9 for Internet Explorer 7 & 8 to see if it would make a difference, and it doesn't. Am fairly certain this is an Adobe issue, and would appreciate some response from FF if this is true or false. Thanks for the help.

I think Oracle Apps Help system is built in to Apps installation and you cant easy enough export it. I have got a few things in mind:
1. You can install Apps on your laptop and by that way make ONLINE Help available offline ;) Online help describes Forms, fields, navigation and really ONLINE things. To me it sounds a bit illogical to have ONLINE help without access to the application.
2. The Apps Doc Set is available on the OTN. You can easy download it for OFFLINE reading. And this documentation is intended for offline reading.
3. Help files for each module located in $APPL_TOP/*/11.5.0/help/US directories. You can try to copy a directory for a module you are interested in on you PC and try to read it offline.

An online CAL session when viewed through firefox, gives an
error loading message, yet when viewed through IE, it works. I have
loaded the plugin for firefox.
But I'm a bit confused as other CAL sessions can be viewed
(though not all) with firefox.
The CAL session should all be identical in structure apart
from content

Does the html in your launch page include the <embed>
tags? Those are needed
for Firefox/Mozilla/Netscape browsers as they use a plugin
instead of
ActiveX. Shouldn't get an error loading page message, though,
it just
doesn't try to do anything.
Could you post the html that launches your course? Maybe
there is just

Legacy MBP vs. 2009 MBP

Hello All,
I'm finally in the market for a new 15" MBP to replace my 2.16 GHz variant of the first generation MBP! I'm an architecture student and my core pro uses are running CS4 on the Mac side and various CAD/rendering related applications on the Windows side. My primary goal in getting a new MBP is getting the greatest performance +bang for the buck+. As such I'm looking at both the legacy 2008/2009 models that have been discounted and the 2009 line up that was just released. It seems to me that given my uses the graphics power provided by the 512MB 9600M GT would provide a distinct advantage over the 256MB 9600M GT. As such I'm looking at buying a legacy 2.66 GHz MBP that is equipped with the 512MB 9600M GT as opposed to the similarly priced, newly released 2.66 GHz MBP that is equipped with the 256MB 9600M GT. It seems to me that while the larger battery and better display would be nice to have, my money would be better spend on the higher performance legacy model. Is it correct to presume that the legacy MBP and newly released 2009 MBP are virtually identical with the exception of the battery, display, smaller graphics card and ExpressCard/SD swap? Would the legacy MBP provide better performance given it's larger graphics card or are there changes to the 2009 MBP that would give a performance advantage over the legacy models?

I was in a very similar situation when I had to purchase a MPB earlier this week.
Should I go with the newer 2009 model, or Late 2008 model?
I eventually went with a Refurb Late 2008 MBP 2.53 for several reasons...

1.) It was $550 cheaper than the newer 2009 Models with Dedicated Graphics. This one also came with 512MB of Graphics Memory vs 256 of the newer one. This was also a $2499 Laptop just 6 months ago. For $1449, its a steal right now IMO.
2.) Despite the new battery innovations, I travel quite a bit, and reading reviews online of 4-4.5 hours or so battery life on the new one (Engadget Review), I felt having a replaceable battery I can swap on the fly was more beneficial. I was fine with losing the hour or so with the legacy battery assuming I could swap it out.
3.) ExpressCard slot is more flexible than a SD Card Slot. Plus, my DSLR uses CompactFlash Anyway .
4.) I was also debating between the refurbs with higher end processors, and ultimately determined the extra 130mhz of the 2.66 wasn't worth the $250 additional price tag over the 2.53 from the refurb site.
I feel the new 2009 model was a lateral move in several ways, not necessarily an upgrade. The biggest deal was the price drops for new units. They're fabulous for the money, but the refurb was much cheaper and had better specs and less compromises.
Now, there are some slight disadvantages from the newer model. Supposedly the screen is better on the newer ones. Supposedly they need to be side to side to notice the difference, but there were rave reviews of the screen when the Late 2008s come out. I figure they were excellent 6 months ago, they're still excellent now. I'm not worried about it. SD card can be useful for some people, though some people are upset with the loss of ExpressCard. I also mention the battery above.
It looks like you've got all the changes down. The only one I didn't see is that the new one supposedly supports up to 8GB of Memory, while the older model can only address 6GB. Not sure if this will change with a future update or Snow Leopard, but something to keep in mind.
I feel for your needs, having the discrete graphics is a must. I haven't seen any benchmarks comparing CS4 with the larger allocated memory, but there is a slight improvement while gaming.

Ok, so I decided that I wanted a new game for my iPod Touch 32G 3rd Gen, 'Pocket Planes'. A free, no hassle download app. I discovered that I needed to update my iOS software on my iPod to install the game on the device.
Opening iTunes, I attempted to update, and got a message saying that iTunes would need to be updated to 10.6 to complete the software update. I accepted, and chose to update iTunes and Quicktime.
At the end of the download, Quicktime had installed, and I assumed iTunes had as well, because it asked me to restart the computer (yes to do it automatically, No to do it later on manually). I chose No because I was doing something online that had to be completed. Once I'd completed my online work, I restarted the computer.
Opening iTunes, I found it exactly the same as before, and I discovered that my iPod wouldn't connect to the library. I tried all four USB ports on my laptop, and two different cables, and I restarted the iPod. No luck.
A quick investigation led me to realise that Quicktime had installed, but iTunes had not. A bit of a browse online brought me to one conclusion - I would have to uninstall 10.5, and install 10.6. I thought 'Oh, easy enough'.
I had almost finished installing 10.6 and a dialog box popped up saying 'iTunes could not finish installing. Your system contains some errors, and has not been modified'. Something like that, anyway.
So I followed some tips from another thread. I 'changed' and 'repaired' Quicktime and ASU, and I used my system configuration tool. I'm still having no luck. What settings should I try on System Config to try and find the solution to my problem? Anyone had this before? Anyone able to help?

Can anyone help me? I'm getting desperate. If no-one can help me, I'm going to have to go to the Apple store, which is a 45 minute drive.
