No one measures anything in Gigabits Its exactly about 16 Gb Micro SDHC cards.
BTW, I ll tell you more. SanDisk also announced 32 Gb Micro SDHC cards which will go on sale already in April 2008 (16 Gb in March). The recommended prices are about 120€ for 16 Gb MicroSDHC and about 200€ for 32 Gb. The same cards are expected from other brands as well (Panasonic also already made an announcement). This is an official info.

This means the iPhone was hacked to be unlocked. The 3GS was not sold in the US as officially unlocked.

AND by the way it takes 10-15 minutes before it even attempts to import photos. The screen says importing photoes but doesnt try to optimize or anything for 10 minutes. I have a 3gs with 16Gb so its not a cheap phone. I have 10Gb free. I have 6600 photoes. This is very frustrating and undermines my confidence in your products. My ipod is an ipod 4 with 16Gb also. It does the exact same thing to it. The last time, I had to import photoes a few at the time and with it taking 10-15 minutes each time for 6600 photos it is a long frustrating process. But it will import every photo a few at a time. The error message is just that itunes has stopped working. no hint as to why. AND of course, my phone is out of use for the entire time. You guys must not want to believe ur phones are a necessary tool...or maybe you dont want the consumer to believe it is. I have tried to find solutions on your website as well as through other 3rd party communities. Ultimately they were of no use. I stumbled onto my solution by accident since Im a bit of a computer geek...a semi-geek.

basically whenever I try to sync my ipod touch 4G 64GB it crashes iTunes when it begins the pictures. if im lucky ill get 4-5 on there before it stops responding. its not my system or anything im running win7x64 8GB DDR3 ram (Corsair XMS3) AMD FX Eight core processor.

No way really for anyone here to give you an answer to that question. You would need to either send it to Apple for evaluation, or take it into the genius bar at a nearby Apple Store and ask them about it. Only an Apple employee could make the call, and they would need to see and handle it to decide.

Refurb Xserve (8-core 3.0GHz Intel Xeon) on the way - HDs and RAM?

Excited to have a refurbished Xserve on the way to serve our company of 30 people. Just looking for some input on the following:
1) I plan to order 3 1TB drives to replace the 1 80GB drive it comes with. Any preferences or considerations out there? My own feeling is that any 7200rpm SATA will do, but there might be a make/type that "talks to" or "plays with" Xserve better.
2) the Xserve I ordered has 2GB of RAM (800MHz DDR2 fully buffered DIMM ECC), which I'm sure is way too modest. In addition, it seems this RAM is crazy expensive, so I'll have to be judicious in my upgrading. How much RAM is enough, given standard uses such as AFP, VPN, and modest web server use...?

Did you order blank ADMs for the drives to go in? Oh, wait. Apple don't sell blank ADMs, so that's not an option unless you're going through something like eBay.
Seriously. The XServe has three drive bays. Each drive bay comes with either a hard drive in an Apple Drive Module (that contains the electronics to link the drive interface to the server's drive bus), or a blank tray. Like it's name suggests, the blank tray is blank - no electronics to hook up a drive to.
If you want to add additional drives to the XServe you will need to either buy Apple Drive Modules with the appropriate disks or try to find an after-market reseller who has some. Personally I wouldn't recommend the latter for a mission-critical server.

I don't know there is such as thing as 'standard uses'
2GB really is the minimum, but it's quite possible that's sufficient. Some of my servers have just 2GB of RAM - although they're just running lightweight stuff such as Open Directory or DNS. Most of my servers have 8GB and some have 16GB but they're either web application servers or database servers, so their needs are different.
At the end of the day it's up to you. I'd fire up the server as is and see how it runs. If you find that you're running low on memory, or have high paging rates then upgrade, but don't worry about it at this point. RAM is easy to upgrade (as long as you can take your server offline for 5 or 10 minutes) and prices generally drop so they'll probably be cheaper in two or three months anyway.

Should I get the 16gb or the 32gb iPad?

I need to decide if I should get the 16GB or the 32GB iPad, I'm not sure if it's worth it to shell out another $100 for the extra space! Here's some info:
I only have about 1gb of music and pictures on it.
I will only have 1 movie or 2-3 episodes on it at one time, for travelling occasions only.
I plan on storing around 20 books on it, and eventually more.
I'm going to have a lot of apps. And I mean, a lot.
So, I'm mainly going to be using it for apps, books, and web surfing. Will 16GB be enough? (Also, do you think the white color will turn yellowish and fade over time, or stay white?)

It's a personal decision, but here's my thinking and why I decided to get the 16 GB WiFi:
I was on a budget. And for the extra $100, I bought the Smart Cover and two years of accidental damage protection from Square Trade. Protecting my iPad from the rigors of my studio and classroom and travel was more important to me than extra storage space to keep things I don't need to access.
I am consciously trying to work more and store work more in the cloud. I have MobileMe and DropBox for document and photo storage. (And FLICKR). I don't need or want to store a lot of photos on my iPad.
I have a laptop with an external hard drive with--I don't know, 300 GB or so?--of music and movies. I feed my iPod regularly. I don't need to carry around a ton of music. I just keep the stuff I'm currently listening to on my iPad.
Most of my audiobooks are accessible from Audible. My digital books are accessible from Amazon/Kindle. I don't need to carry around all of my audiobooks or digital books.
I knew that I wanted to play around with A TON of drawing and notebook and related creative apps.
So here I am with a lot of apps (the main component of my iPad's capacity), a couple of movies, a couple of TV episdoes, some music, some photos, a LOT of digital books (accessibility to Amazon notwithstanding) and I still have 8 GB free. So, for me I made the right choice.
Also, I figure that if and when I want a higher capacity iPad, there will be a lovely new version, and I can easily sell this one and upgrade.
(Also, do you think the white color will turn yellowish and fade over time, or stay white?)
The white will most definitely stay white. It's completely encased under the glass screen material, which goes all the way to the edges.

How do I change the way the title/author appear and is there any way to remove pages on EPUBs?

I am having a really hard time--I am trying to transfer EPUBs from my Win 7 comp to my Nook Tablet. I bought a lot of books from several non-BN sites because they were lots cheaper and were also sold in bundles--but the site was messed up and sent the books in PDF form rather than EPUB. PDF files won't read like a regular book on my Nook Tablet, so my friend offered to convert them to EPUB for me.
Most of the books turned out fine, but some of them now have a few extra pages at the beginning before the cover image and the correct title and author are not displaying--it seems to instead show the filepath where the file was saved on m friend's computer (C:\My Computer/Documents and Settings...etc.)
So, what I would like to do is be able to edit the EPUB files so I can delete the extra pages at the beginning so the correct cover image will be displayed and to be able to change the file's data sp it will show (and be searchable by) the correct title and author.
I am new to all this, so I appreciate any help you can offer. Thank you SO much for your help!!

P.S. Having the title and author show up correctly so they are searchable and appear in the correct place on my Nook Tablet is the top priority--correct cover pages would be nice aesthitically, but it is not that important.
****ALSO--does anyone know of an app or anything for the Nook Tablet that would allow PDF files to be read just like an EPUB/B&N=purchased book? Currently when I open a PDF, it shows the page in TINY print--you can use pinching to zoom in, but then the file enlarges so it is bigger than the screen, making it very hard to read. I can't figure out any way to enlarge the text but still fits the page like an EPUB does, so I'm wondering if there's an app that would do that--it's hard because you can't try apps before you buy them and I can't teel if they will work from the descriptions.

For sideloaded content the nook pulls the metadata from ePub file itself. I would suggest looking at a program like Sigil or Calibre that will let you edit the metadata in the book to make it appear like you want.
For the PDF vs ePub - No, that's the way PDFs work (think of them as graphics, not text), wheres ePubs are Web Pages - so no you can't them to behave exactly alike without converting the files.

Maybe I'm fool, but how I get the "day view"? I have three options on the top line, an icon that seems a computer (a square and two lines), a magnifying glass to search a especific item and a "plus" to add appointments. The "day view" isn't any more there - that's the point!!! Using the first icon a get the full month-that uses 2/3 of the screen- and two lines of appointments...To see the rest I have to slide up and down the two lines taking care to not touch the month...

Hello, if you havent tried the doesktop manager option, you can do it from the device aswell... Just make sure you save all your contacts to your SIM.
you can go into your Security Options (in Options menu) and select wipe handheld.

You can run windows on a new iMac either directly by installing it with Boot Camp or in a virtual machine inside of OS X with Parallels. Parallels has a tool that will allow you to migrate an existing Windows installation from a PC into a Parallels virtual machine on a Mac.
In answer to your other question, Windows will still be Windows, so it's just as crappy running on an Intel Mac as it is on an ordinary PC. I have Windows Vista installed on mine and it has all of the annoyances of Windows XP plus some new ones. If I didn't need Windows apps I wouldn't use it.

I've done a bit of reading and would just like someone to either steer me in the right direction on this or flatly say "No - Go back, you'll only enter a world of pain, flee while you still can".
We wish to distribute a thin reporting client to a call centre, approx. 250 concurrent users. BO is strong on the User Admin side which we like. InfoView which could default to a particular report could in theory satisfy our needs. The problem is we don't wish to bamboozle the users (not in any way saying CSR in a call centre wouldn't be savvy enough to not to break it) and want to limit their view and what they can then do in this to be developed report.
InfoView will allow each of the users to login to BO.
Using SDK can I then configure our users experience/view of InfoView and then in combination with Access Rights basically only allow them to perform a very limited number if functions.
What I'm really keen on creating is basically a form/display where the top toolbar has entries for inputs (query criteries) and the Display then return the entries matching the input criteria. Prompts are there or there abouts but just look n feel a bit clunky - a dynamic report that shows the Master data per row in a table then when you click on an individual Master Record the table expands (or something like that) to display the Detailed information associated with that Master record.
Also, I'd like to configure the CMC so that all but 2 or 3 of the tabs are allowed for the Call Centre Admin person to view.
I like the way SDK will allow us to rebrand the tool.
Should I use SDK - is it the only option that'll satisfy most of our needs at this stage?

I'm not a java developer and am kinda hesitant to go down the SDK path.
I'm hoping to build the report in WEBI, make available the report through InfoView, but you're saying I can't in anyway meddle with the InfoView GUI so as to make it more user friendly. OK.
I was hoping there'd be a way to create a html layer that would better present the data (when I say better - InfoView just does more than we want our user base to view - since it may only cause difficulties)
Have a look at what we're trying to achieve - I'd love if you could share with me how you'd think I should go about delivering such a reporting tool on the back of InfoView functionality.
