    Hello!!!
You do not need to put the "Configuration Parameters Setting" inside a loop.
These configuration are needed just one time.
If you want to change these parameters for other acquistion, you can put these steps inside a case structure and when you need to change those configurations values you've just to call the "Configuration Case" and do it before the new acquisition starts.
The acquisition need to be continuous, not the configuration.
You can found code examples on this link below:

  • LabView DAQ running more stable under Linux?

    Hello,
We are doing LabView DAQ using a cDAQ9714 module (with AI card 9203 and AO card 9265) at a customer site. We are running an excutable on a Windows PC and had a couples of times (3 so far) that the PC just gone freeze for some reason and we lost all inputs and outputs. Each time it happend after the program continous run a few days. So far we have no clue why this is happening (Any idea?)
We need the program to run continously for months and years and absolutely hate the fact that it freeze. Since we couldn't find any bug in the program till now, we're thinking to blame Windows. Then alternative for us is to use Linux os. My questions are:
    1. Does LabView run stable on Linux than on Windows? Any data or experience anyone has?
    2. To get the same program runs on Linux, I heard I have to buy a LabView Linux delelopment tool and create the excutable from there. Does this involve any extra effort than the Windows one?
    3. Does NI have any industrial PC that has Linux OS preinstalled instead of Windows? We bought one PPC 2115 before.
    Thanks!
    Rgds,
    Harry

Harry - the main link here: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6909 will show DAQmx (some Linux) and DAQmx Base (Linux/Mac) support for all of our products.  It's the same table on the last link it just links a list for all of our hardware offerings.  Currently there aren't any offerings with your desired I/O, we have a few multifunction DAQ devices like the USB-6218 that can be programmed with DAQmx Base in Linux.  If you are looking to run stand-alone and highly stable applications you may want to look into programming an application with the LabVIEW Real-Time Module and deploy it to a RTOS (Real Time Operating System) controller.  You would program the application in Windows with LabVIEW and this additional module, and then distribute the program to a controller.  If you deployed to an industrial controller you can interface PCIe, USB buses etc for your DAQ instruments.  We also offer this in our CompactRIO form factor where you would deploy the application to a controller/C series chassis similar to the compactDAQ you are using now in that it houses those C series modules but has much more to offer.  I've put a few links below here if you would like to look into these products any further.

  • PCI-6251 into LABVIEW DAQ Assist block interruptions and resets

Signals being received from PCI-6251 into a LABVIEW DAQ Assist block interrupts and resets every 10 seconds after 1 minute of data acquisition. Would this be a memory buffer problem or is it something related to the hardware? I am using a BNC-2110 hardware connector. Please view the attached image.

    Hey Peter,
Ahh, I understand the graph now!  Hmm, this is very strange behavior.  Instead of using the DAQ Assistant, try to use the explicit DAQmx VIs (see picture).  You have more explicit control over what is going on with the DAQmx VIs and keep as much as you can out of the loop.

The string is often used in LV as a general buffer. Type Cast the
string as the appropriate integer and it should be fine. If the integer
    has been transmitted in litt
le endian byte order, you will need to use
the Advanced byte and word swapping functions in LV in order to reorder
the integer contents -- LV always assumes big-endian binary format.

    Hi Gary,
My suggestion is to first work from the Vision RIO examples in the example finder.  All of the examples are commented and should at least help you get started.  Also, check out this tutorial on Digital Camera Basics, you will notice many of the concepts talked about here in the code itself.

You are correct in your assumption that the image comes in pixel by pixel and you can read more about the image's construction in the article and see that construction in the example codes.

  • Incorrect AMUX/PCI6025 readings using Labview/DAQ

I have an AMUX64/PCI6025. Using my DVM, I measure the voltage at the AMUX screw terminals on various channels with correct readings obtained. Performing measurements with Labview/DAQ are incorrect. What is causing this?

    Hello;
The first thing to double check is if the input mode is set accordainly with the connections made.
The best bet is to revisit the AMUX Users Manual and double check the connections you made with the ones shown in the manual. Furthermore, go to MAX and check the input mode of the DAQ device.
    Everything must match.
In case you got everything accordainly with the manual, and you still see the same behavior, the problem is probably hardware related.
    Hope this helps.

  • MXI-4 PXI-PCI bridge

I tried to set MXI-4cd it but I have a message that says components are already set (NI-VISA...).
But I have basically a problem with MAX Explorer which does not recognize the PXI system.
In my PC, the first PCI-slot is devoted to a NI PCI-6052E card.
The second one is devoted to the PCI8331 card.
I think the problem comes from the communication between the PCI-8331 in the PCI-slot and the PXI-8331 in the PXI-1031 chassis (bridge).
But this one doesn't seem to be recognized.
    In MAX, there's just a device PCI-6052E in Traditional NI-DAQ-device or NI-DAQmx-device.
So if this card is not recognized, then the PXI system (that I powered on) cannot be recognized as well (PXI-1031 and its modules PXI-GPIB, PXI-7344, PXI-4204).
The communication must be wrong maybe because of the PCI-8331 which is not read from the PC? I wonder if the PCI-8331 in the 2nd slot at the moment should be set in the first slot instead of the PCI-6052E???
I tried the VISA option in MAX (show ALL PXI-PCI devices accessible to VISA instead of ONLY) and then to restart the system.
I tried as well to identify PXI as external PC or other (I can't load any PXI-1031 from CD: not a valid file), and to show PXI-buses: but PCI-6052E is shown?
Note: basically I think I can remove the PCI-6052E board (which we shouldn't use) since the Data acquisition can be down by the PXI-4204???
    Thanks for quick answer.
    Best regards

    Hello,
Check if your MXI-4 board show up correctly in the Windows Device Manager.
MXI-4 boards contain two distinct PCI functions onboard and will have two separate listings in the Windows Device Manager (WDM).
The first function will show up in the WDM listed under System devices as a PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge.
The second function listing in the WDM will show up as a MXI-4 Connection Monitor when the correct MXI-4 driver is installed.
If the MXI-4 software is not installed, the PCI-to-PCI function will still be detected and work correctly, but the MXI-4 Connection Monitor will be detected as an unknown device.
If MAX indicates that the MXI-4 connection has timed out, the MXI-4 card did not detect that it was connected to another MXI-4 card at power-up
time. This can occur if the host chassis is turned on before the expansion chassis, or if the MXI-4 cable is not plugged in properly. (see screnshot attached).
    Hpoe this helps.

  • DAQ using PCI-6024E

I am new to labview and am conducting a project where i have to aquire data and analyze it using labview and a PCI-6024E board (with a CB-68LPR connecter block)
Could I get a list of the pinouts for this board or are they the same as 68pin MIO I/O pinouts?
Also any information about how to set up channels would be helpful

Go to the following folder on you hard drive
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Docs\TradDAQ_Device_Pinouts.chm
I do beleive looking at this document that since it's an E series board that it uses

  • NI PXI/PCI-1428 base configuration

    Hello,
I am using the NI PXI/PCI-1428 board. I am sending a camera link video (coming from an FPGA) to the frame grabber. I have been trying to create a custom camera with the camera file generator program, but it only gives me the medium configuration option. Therefore, when trying to acquire video, it gives me the 0xBFF60022 timeout error. It is because it is expecting video in medium configuration and i am sending it in base configuration.
The Ni 1428 board clearly supports base configuration.
    Any clue?
    Thank you

I suspect it has to do with your image size.  Try a smaller image.

  • Filter pxi-6602 LabVIEW DAQ-mx

    Hi,
    I have a PXI-6602 card.
The signal to measure is on the gate pin.
On the source pin, it is the internal 20MHz.
The counter uses the ND_BUFFERED_EVENT_CNT mode.
I have a LabWindows code with NI driver DAQ for this card which uses filter with this function <<< Line_Change_Attribute( device number, line name, ND_LINE_FILTER, ND_5_MICROSECONDS) >>>
I must rewrite the code to LabVIEW with NI driver DAQ-mx.
I use the counter to count edge mode.
I don't know how to configure the same filter in LabVIEW with DAQ-mx.
    Can you help me ?
    thanks
    best regards

Assuming you're using the external signal as a "sample clock" in your edge count task, you would enable the filter like this (called before starting the task):
There are other ways to configure what is essentially the same thing though--if you're using the external signal as something other than a sample clock (e.g. a "pause trigger") then there would be a different property that you would need to set instead.

  • DAQ-PXI 6259

    Hi,
I am using Labview 7.1 and NI PXI 6259 DAQ card.
I want to configure 'n' no.of digital channels at a time but each channel has to stop the task at different time.Is it possible to do this??
Suppose consider i need to configure some 8 digital channels in that i need to write 4 channels continuously and 5th channel for 5 seconds,6th for 3 Seconds,7th for 2 seconds,8th for 10 seconds.I will come to know abt the no.of channels and whether it is for continuous or for finite time only at run time.Is there any method to configure the virtual channels by grouping all 8 channels but stop each channel at different time??
    Plz help me in this
    Regards
    Meenatchi

    Hello Meenatchi,
It appears what you are trying to do is to use synchronized digital output so that one sample is output on all of your lines at the same time, for different lengths of time.  If this is the case, then what Britoa suggests is probably the best way to go about it.  You can programatically "decide" what you want to output and then build a digital waveform to reflect the behaivior you want to see. For example, if you wanted to output at 1kHz and you wanted channel 1 to output continuously while channel 2 only output for 1 second, then you would programatically construct a waveform where channel 2 was set low after 1000 samples.  The example that I would start with would be the Cont Write Dig Port-Ext Clk-Non Regeneration.vi
As far as having different tasks running, the only way you can do that is if you use software timing (1 sample On Demand) for the different lines.  You can then create a different task for each line and stop them independently as shown here:
Your lines will not be synchronized, but you could then use a case structure to decide whether to write to each line or not.
I hope this gives you a place to start, post back if you have any issues programming this.
