2 missed appointments is now 3 missed appointments...

https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connection/BT-engineer-appointments-2-missed/td-p/1180...
Hello all - the above link details 2 missed appointments from BT.  My third appointment was supposed to be today between 1pm and 6pm and guess what......?!  Unbelievable - no show from the engineer.  A call to BT informed me there were not enough resources to be able to allocate an engineer to deal with my fault.  Now I'm not a stupid man but I do feel pretty dumb at the moment.   "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me" springs to mind (I don't know if the saying extends to three times).  After a long call with BT (the staff were polite as always) I have agreed to wait for an email on Monday to see what resolution can be found to the issues I have (an appointment is booked for next Saturday should I wish to carry on with BT).  At the moment I don't see that happening.  I also forgot to add that late last year I paid my upfront line rental over the phone and that was never credited to my account so I am paying over £40.00 a month now with the new line rental charges.  I shall spend the evening looking for new providers and unless BT can do something amazing to retain my custom I shall be off.  To say I am mad is a gross understatment. Even if the engineer does appear on Saturday I cannot be sure the problems with my reduced speed can be fixed.  As pointed out during my telephone conversation with BT, moving to another ISP still means the same engineers working on the same equipment.  My faith in BT is broken now though especailly as the 2nd missed appointment was because an appointment was never logged on the system.  To add insult to injury the prospect of cancellation charges also looms but I shall fight that very hard as I don't see why I should have to pay to leave a service I have lost faith in over the past 6 months.  I would like to say thanks to the BT staff, especially Gary who is to deal with my issues personally over the coming week. I hope a resolution can be reached but I shall not get my hopes up.  Moan number 2 over.  Sorry for going on so long.

john46 - I hear you and did indeed mention that in my long winded and whinging post! :-)
The fact the line rental payment has been missed, the second appointment was never logged on the system and that BT have not pushed hard enough over a protracted period of time are certainly BT issues and not Openreach.  IF BT can assist me in giving Openreach a kick up the posterior and offer me a good deal going forward I may be tempted to give them a fourth and final chance.  My current state of mind is clouded by anger and frustration at the moment and I am sure I will be thinking more rationally tomorrow but at the moment I could not care less about BT which is a shame as my reduced speed is currently pretty stable.  Thanks for taking the time to read and respond though John.  Regards,  Giggsy.

  • Think the bridge deleted appointments / also missing add attendee to appointments now on my bold calendar

I noticed on several occasions that my playbook calendar and bold calendar were not in sync. Appointments were missing on the playbook. Now it appears that the bridge has deleted appointments on my playbook/bold and the deletion has replicated through our bes so the appointments are missing in outlook.
I also no longer have the ability to add attendees to appointments on my bold. I can view attendee avail - but can't invite.
My bold/bes/outlook has been really reliable for years. The playbook is a new addition and as when playbook was added that's when I noticed these problems.
    Bold is 9700 v 6.0.0.576
    bridge is 1.0.6.5
    playbook is 1.0.7.2942
    bes is 5.something
    outlook is 2010

Further clarification - the appointments aren't deleted from my Outlook Calendar - it's that appoints where i was invited no longer display onthe phone or through the bridge. Basic meetings where I invite someone appears - but meetings with multiple attendees no longer appear on the phone and bridge.

  • Updates whacked my Outlook Calendar - now the appointments are missing from Outlook

    - while they are supposed to share (per the Organizer) between OUTLOOK and my Pearl 9100 - only the BB has all entries - serveral erased from Outlook.. I have tried resyncing several times - no success. Happened today after downloading the latest update.  How do I "fix" this screw up on RIM's part?

It's more weird than that. I have tried muliple times to download all calendar entries-from the BB to Outlook. But I have found i have 2 calendars - a default and a Facebook calendar. The default downloads but the facebook calendar doesn't. I have deleted the Facebook App - and have searched for a facebook calendar - no luck.
The Facebook entries are in green. I don't understand since the Facebook calendar only applies to events ,birthdays etc - not routine entries. If I could find where they are stored I could download them - anyone have this issue?

  • Exchange / iPhone 4s / iPad2 / Outlook - Missing appointments

I was happily plugging along with my iPhone 3g and then 4S syncing wirelessly with Exchange for my work calendar.  All was well with the world until I added an iPad2 to the mix... now, my Outlook is the point of reference but different appointments are missing from my iPhone and from my iPad.  Not the same appointments either!  For example, Friday afternoon is showing wide open on my phone, 1 appointment on my iPad, and 3 appointments in Outlook.  They aren't recurring, and they aren't all-day.  I can't figure it out.  I can delete and relist but the problem comes back.
    help?!?  I'm missing meetings!

Microsoft has some "Best Practices" for resolving calendaring issues...
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA011276781033.aspx
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899704/
but I think the the real issue is related to the number of mail client instances you are running.  I tell our users the likelihood of calendar consistency errors increases as the square of the number of mail clients they run.   This is an issue really with the way Outlook handles resolving the calendar.  I know this is a frustrating issue, and one that really needs to be addressed by Microsoft. We also tell our users to accept appointments from every device they receive a notification on...if one notification is deleted, the appointment vanishes from the calendar....You might also look at taking desktop Outlook out of cache mode. The cache file can get corrupted and I've seen cases where letting it be rebuilt fixes many consistency issues.  Another best practice is to minimize the number of calendar delegates. For what it's worth it also affects users of other mobile device types such as Blackberry.

  • 3 Missed broadband appointments and counting!!

    Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me out, advise me, or just listen to me rant for a few minutes.  I ordered BT infinity 2 and a BT phone line at the begining of November and was given an instalation date of the 18th.  A couple of days before I recieve a SMS text regarding the appointment, so I ring BT and I'm told they can't install the broadband on the 18th but couldn't tell me why until the 19th when someone would call me back, the lady did make a vague reference to the word 'port' which is all I was told.  The 18th comes around and an engineer turns up and installs the phone line, no issues.
On the 19th I'm called and told they don't like to install the broadband until they know the newly installed phone line is working, which although annoying concidering they made the appointments, is understandable.  I am then told they have to cancel the order and start a new one, which the lady does, she tells me theres no problem, nothing to worry about even tells me they will sort me out with compensation once the broadband is installed.
The new install date was the 2nd of December which was another 2 weeks but I was ok with that, plus it gave me time to arrange the day off work.  A couple of days later I recieve a SMS txt telling me someone was going to call me 2 days later regarding my order.  The 2 days pass and I call BT and I'm told the date has been changed to the 5th, it's no problem, nothing to worry about.
By now I've put my holiday in at work, so now my wife has to book a day off for the 5th.  Today (26th Nov) I have recieved an SMS text regarding 'The delay in activation of your services', someone will call me in 2 days to discuss this.  I rang BT on the number given in the text and spoke to a guy, the only piece of useful information I got from him was that there are no ports available in my local exchange and they need an engineer to install aditional ports into the box before my broadband can be connected.
I'm guessing I now have to wait the 2 days for someone to call me at which point they will no doubt cancel my order and rearrage another.
So far me and my wife have used 3 days holiday with more on the cards, and it annoys me that when I spoke to BT on my first call they obviously new the problem was there were no ports available.  I actually feel a little cheated that they waited until the phone line was connected before raising any issues.
If anyone can help me get this sorted out, point me in the right direction that would be great.  Me and my wife don't have many holidays left and can't afford to waste them on missed appointments.

Sounds like they've run out of FTTC Ports in the cab. It might take some time for an Engineer to fit a new Fibre Card, it's a specialised job that only certain engineers can do...
Also if they have to pull in new Copper Tails to the PCP from the DSLAM then that will take even longer!

  • 2 missed broadband appointments

BT have missed 2 appointments to fix my broadband. They now say they will come in another 2 days. I work from home and a week without broadband has cost me a lot. I really need them to fix it today. Can anyone in BT reallocate an engineer to fix my broadband today? Does anyone know how I can speak to someone who manages the engineers in my local area? I can only speak with an outsourced call centre who can only book appointment slots and apparently have no means of escalation. Is this really a sensible way to look after your customers?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

My broadband was fixed today. It is interesting that the engineer told me that a Control Team based in the UK looks after communication between the outsourced call centre in India and the engineers. He said the Indian call centre can communicate with the Control Team and get updates on the whereabouts of engineers. This seems sensible  but in my case the Indian call centre said that they had no way of communicating with the engineers (which it seems I was right not to believe).
The engineer was surprised that I had two missed visits with no communication. I suspect that the engineer bookings were never made because of a system or human error. I will never know.
Hopefully this may help someone else who has a similar problem.
Now onto getting my £10 compensation per missed visit ....

  • Calendar and new notification screen - missing appointments?

    Hello,
When I open the notification screen by swiping my finger from the top to the bottom of the screen i get calendar info in the middle. But the calendar info is missing a lot of my appointments.
Does anyone know what criterias the notification screen uses to display appointments? The screen is useless to me as long as it does not show all the appointments that I have in my calendar.
    Best regards
    Oyvind

Thanks, it did help some, but it did not solve the problem.
Today I have three appointments. If i check the notification screen it shows two of them. There seems to be a maximum number per day.
I increased the number of appointments to ten, but the problem seems to be a maximum number per day.
Sadly this still makes the screen useless. It`s much more important for me to know what`s happening today than knowing what appointments i have in one week from now.....

  • Anyone having missing appointments on Playbook 2.0.1.338 with ActiveSync

Every once and a while I have missing apptointments only with ActiveSync.  Resyncing does not help, I need to go to outlook on my PC and resave the appointment

The other issue is that many of my recurring appointments are set up by other people using  Outlook scheduling assistant.   So difficult to re-establish the appointment without asking other people to resend their meeting request!! Forntunately I only had the synching issue once a few months ago.  I will continue to check my calendar over the coming weeks....we are just about to start our busy season.

  • IPad calendar missing "+" button to add appointments.

I have a friend who just got a new iPad 2 but it doesn't have the "+" button in which to add appointments with. Is there something in the settings that needs to be turned on?

+If you select the right day first, you will be able to enter new entries in the right window.+
I have no clue what that means in this instance. I can select any day and still add an event - I can go back to August and add an event and the + sign still appears in the app .... But maybe I am missing something .....
@EDL2 try these simple things - none of which would I hold out hope for - but try them anyway. My reason for doubt is that a number of users have reported the missing + sign in the calendars app and I have not seen a fix yet.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the calendars app and restart. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
The last thing you can try - if you are using iCloud- go to iCloud.com and sign in. Select the calendar and try to add an event there. You must do this on a computer, BTW, not on the iPad. Then go to the iPad and see if the button appears.

  • I Cannon make appointments in my calendar, because I miss in the right corner the  .

I Cannon  make appointments in my calendar, because I miss in the right corner above the +.

If the + button does not appear in portrait mode try quitting the Calendar app like this:
Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it works normally.
Alternately you should be able to add an appointment by tapping and holding on the date you want the appointment and an Add Event screen should appear.

Check the appropriate box in Address Book preferences, select (highlight) all your cards, export vCards (see the File menu) to your desktop, drag the file to a thumb drive or external hard drive, or send the vCards to your new computer attached to an email, and double click on the vCards file (or select "import vCards" from the File menu).

  • Future Appointments Missing

A user report Calander items are missing from his account that were sent to many users including myself that are not missing from anyone else. He remembers a some messages about deleted emails. I looked and it seems he's getting alot of appoinments deleted by GWCheck on the weekend although I'm not sure its the ones he's asking about. Is this a database rebuild issue?

I've had the same thing happen. Actually, a user contacted me this morning that her appointments were deleted/retracted just after midnight last night. In looking at the date, the original appointment was sent to people 45 days ago but the appointment is actually scheduled for the future. It's very suspicious because we have scheduled events to delete items older than 45 days, but none that ran at midnight - it runs once a week on Saturdays. There is also a "disk check" to delete items older than 45 days if the server gets low on space and this particular server did get low on space last night, but I never got a gwcheck report, nor do I see a log file in the wpcsout/chk directory. So, why are these getting deleted/retracted right at midnight when there were no scheduled events? If it still appears connected to the gwchecks (but I don't know how), I can change the 45 day cleanup to not include appointments, but it seems more like it cleaned them up because they were SENT 45 days ago, not because they were appointments. If I leave "sent items" checked in cleanup, and uncheck "appointments", will it leave them alone? All very strange.

  • IPhone 4 OS 6.0 Sync via iCloud to Computer - Calendar Missing All Calendars Except Repeating Appointments

I have an iPhone 4, ios 6.0 with years of calendars & contacts on it.
Just bought a new macbook pro, OS 10.8.3.
Set up iPhone 4 to sync all calendars and contacts via one icloud account, successfully.
All 8 Calendars all successfully sunk from iPhone 4 into new computer.
Set up iTunes 11.0.2 to sync with my iPhone 4 via cable. Did the sync, all music & playlists from iTunes 11 got onto my iPhone 4.
Now my macbook pro's calendars & contacts are all present and fine, but the iPhone only displays calendar items which are my repeating appointments (my exercize calendar).
Yet, in my iPhone 4, all calendars are checked off to show. (please see pic), but they don't show.
Any advice on how to get all my calendars to show on my iPhone like they do on my macbook pro? It appears the macbook calendar has kept ALL my appointments, and the iPhone 4 has only kept and displayed my weekly repeating exercize appointments.

Turned out - after about 30minutes at the genius bar, the guy figured it out.
Within the iphone itself, in the General > Calendar preferences, it said 'sync only last 2 months' or something like that. So even though the iphone had all calendars selected to show, it deceptively didn't show any of my previous non-repeating appointments, only the repeating ones.
This explains why iCloud had all my information + repeating appointments, yet the iPhone only had 2 months of appointments + my forever going back repeating appointments.
iPhone calendar software a little odd to not have 'sync all calendar items' checked off as a default, instead it has 'sync only last 2 months' checked off as a default.

  • Q10 appointment subject missing in calendar for 30 minute appointments

On my Q10, appointments lasting 30 minutes or less do not show the appointment subject/ttle. All I see is a box with no details. Meetings 1 hour or longer show the meeting title. If I open the appointment, all the details are viewable. This occurs in the Day/Week/Month view but not the Agenda view.
I believe this staretd to occur when I changed the default meeting duration from 1 hour to 30 minutes, but reverting back to 1 hour is making no difference. Unsure if the problem is related to this setting.
Please help, using the calendar in Agenda view is not preferred and opening each 30 minute meeting to view appointment details is cumbersome.
    Thanks.

I figured it out...zooming in/out using pinch and zoom on the calendar vertically increases/reduces the granularity. I now have meeting titles showing up again for my 30 minute appointments.
