24 fps in Pal - after confirming attribute changes gives me a scare

Dear Friends, I am currently editing 35mm Film on fcp, I would like to mention my workflow so that if there is something missing, someone can point it out (Please) Telecine 25 fps - Imported the atn files in to cinema tools and exported batchlist to fcp, imported batch at 24 list in fcp Pal DV 25 proj, loaded the material and confirmed it to 24fps through cinema tools, relinked it in fcp (now here is what i am scared about, when i relink it says some attributes have changed, is this normal, is it suppose to give me this message) after relinking i put the shots on 24 fps seq for 24fps edit.
I had few problematic telecines and keylogs, so i decided to change the database and relink the shots manually, While connecting few clips to database, cinema tools messaged, it has trimmed the shots so that it can generate correct cutlist, now is this normal, or am i doing something wrong. my cutlist generated are perfect anyway.
1. changed attributes after confirm.
2. trimmed shots by cinema tool for correct cutlist.

It did the same for me on a feature I have now finished. Neg cut, conform and DI all perfect. It is a worrying warning, but you get use to it.
Search the forum for pal 24 at 25. A few posts on a number of issues which make PAL24 a bit tricky.

Fail to parse SQL query after report attributes changes on sample app

This errors occurs in the sample application istalled in Workspace PMW on the http://htmldb.oracle.com web site. Goto home page, edit Page 1, Select "Top Orders" in Region, select report attributes, change max count from 5 to 5 in "Layout and Pagination", apply changes, run page and parse SQL error occurs. Select "debug" and the following is shown regarding the query.

this is sort of an oversight on our part. what's going on is that the sample app installs with that order by clause in the query. at the same time, the report attributes page for that region has a default sort sequence value of "1 desc" (even though column heading sorting isn't enabled). when you go to that page and try to apply any change, htmldb tries to set things up correctly for you...and you end up with that double order by. the best way to avoid the issue is to remove the order by clause from the query on the Region Definition page.

Getting no attributes changes after change run monitor program is executed

Change the sequence settings from NTSC 30 fps to PAL 25 fps, is possible?

Hello,
I have a finished project that was make in a sequence with the format NTSC 30 fps. Now I need to change that sequence and the project to PAL 25 fps. I have changed the settings of the source secuence to PAL 25, but in the resulting sequence the audio and the videos are different in time and speed.
With the videos I have make a match frame to find the source, but with the audios I have problems. ¿There is a automatic proccess in final cut pro 7.0 that could make a translation of a finished sequence that was developed in NTSC 30 ftp to a PAL 25 fps?
Can you give me a tip or something to make the trasnlation ?

Sorry...but it isn't as simple as changing a project frame rate. FCP is NOT good at mixing frame rates. And when you put NTSC footage (29.97fps), into a PAL timeline (25fps), that is exactly what you are doing. No, this won't work. No magic solution for this (although Avid MC5 does this nicely).
You are going to have to export a QT file, and let Compressor tackle this job (and it will take a WHILE, and you will have to run a few tests to see if your settings work to your satisfaction), or take that QT file to a post house with a Terranex or Snell/Wilcox to do the conversion ($$$$)...or output to tape AND THEN do the Terranex thing.
No easy button here.

Attribute change Run and Infocube Problem

Hi SAP BW Experts ,
I am getting the following problem
2 days back our production system was down when Attribute change run is running in a process chain . After the system is up I triggered the Attribute change run manually for that specific master data Object. But the jobs was cancled automatically. When I checked the Job log I found the following messages
InfoCube XXX is locked by a terminated change Run
System error: RSDU_TABLE_COPY_INI/DDIF_TABL_ACTIVATE /BIC/E200073 /BIC/E100073 0
Message no. DBMAN100
When I verified manage screen in the Infocube XXX , one request is not rolled up . when I tried to rollup that particular request manually again I am getting the same message InfoCube XXX is locked by a terminated change Run
When I tried to create Indexes on that Infocunbe XXX , Again I am getting the same message InfoCube XXX is locked by a terminated change Run
When I tried to load data in to that Infocube I am getting the same message InfoCube XXX is locked by a terminated change Run
The Steps Taken By Me:
1. In SM12 , there are no lock entries for the Infocube XXX
2. According to A.H.P reply I verified the Support package . We are having Import Support package 18 for 3.10( BW 3.10 patch 18 or SAPKW31018 )
so I think there is no problem from patch side.
So please let me know by doing which task , I can eliminate the error message InfoCube XXX is locked by a terminated change Run

I connected to your BWQ system. I checked the table RSDDAGGRMODSTATEand
found an entrie for a change run "not yet" finished.

As you can see, the field CLOSEDFL is blank (should be 'X' for an ended
change run) and the field TIMESTMP_END is also zero.

with thi change run error (Infocube ZINV and Infoobject ZELEM_PEP):

You have two choices to solve this problem. You cn either:
1.- Restart the change run and let it finish with ok.
The change run usually fails due to database errors, tablespace
problems, and when some user manually cancel it (NEVER should be
done!!)
2.- Change manually the entry from table RSDDAGGRMODSTATE that isdescribed
above. Set the field CLOSEDFL with a 'X' and also fill the field
TIMESTMP_END with a value with the following format
yy,yym,mdd,hhm,mss. Use, for example, '20,030,910,181,500'
IMPORTANT!!!
After this change on table RSDDAGGRMODSTATE, you have todeactivate
all aggregates, activate again and refill them!!

BPS and attributes change

Hi,
I'm currently working on BI-IP with planning function "Repost on Basis of Characteristic relationship" and it works well but i would like to know if there's something like this in BPS.
Some old projects are in BPS and there are some derivation by characteristic relationship. In BPS if an attribute changed from the last writing a new line is created with the new value but i don't think there's another line to cancelled the fisrt one (line with old attribute value).
I hope someone can find an issue for my question.

After few test with BPS it doesn't work like BI-IP.
Let's take an example to be sure we speak about the same thing.
I've got a Web Interface for the input where we need to fill one Order Number with an Amount. On my Planning Area, there's a derivation by characteristic relationship for profit center (attribute of Order Number).
I fill my interface with Order Number A and an AMount of 10.
In my cube i have something like :
Order number = A / Profit Center = AA / AMount = 10
If my master data changed and my new profit center for Order number A is AB. If i changed my data in the input with the value 20, in my cube i've got something like :
Order number = A / Profit Center = AA / AMount = 10
Order number = A / Profit Center = AB / AMount = 10
For me it's not good because i need to have 20 in my profit center AB and 0 in AA like how it works with BI-IP and planning function "Repost with characteristic relationship". SO i need to have 3 lines in my cube
Order number = A / Profit Center = AA / AMount = 10
Order number = A / Profit Center = AA / AMount = -10
Order number = A / Profit Center = AB / AMount = 20

Effect of Full Attribute Extract on Aggregate Attribute Change Run

Because we extract data that does not trigger the change pointer on 0CUST_SALES we do a FULL extract of this data daily instead of a DELTA. We recently created an aggregate which contains navigational attributes of 0CUST_SALES (namely Sales Office & Sales Group).
My question is does the system look to see if any information has changed between the new and old values or does it assume since there is a new version for every entry that 100% of the values have changed?
The reason I'm asking is BW appears to be rebuilding this aggregate from scratch each day instead of changing the aggregate for the few entries that actually changed.

I did a FULL extract for 0CUST_SALES in our QA system. It transferred 28617 records. When I look into the monitor > processing > data package 1 > update I see the following:
3 data records in table /BI0/XCUST_SALES marked for deletion
3 data records inserted in table /BI0/XCUST_SALES
3 data records n table /BI0/PCUST_SALES marked for deletion
3 data records inserted in table /BI0/PCUST_SALES
Different database operations were executed
When I run the attribute change I see the following messages:

After seeing this i revisited the documentation for threshold value in RSCUSTV8. Ours is BLANK! So according to the documents when it is blank the aggregate is reconstructed generally. Not what we want!!
I will change the setting to the suggested 20% to start and we'll work from there.

Vendor marked as purchasing Block after confirmation of Vendor through FK08

Hi ,
We are having SRM 5.0 Add On System. While Creation of Vendor In ECC system it goes for Confirmation First.
So in SRM Vendor Remains as Blocked for Purchasing in Table BBPM_BUT_FRG0061 as Vendor in ECC system also remains as blocked for Purchasing.
Confirmation FK08 is done by different user. After Confirmation in ECC system vendor get unblocked for Purchasing but in SRM it remains as blocked for purchasing.
So Purchasimg Blocked is not removed in SRM.
If we are removing the block tick by Changing the Vendor(XK02) then in SRM Vendor get unblocked automatically.
Expecting reply at the earliest.

Behavior you describe is the standard one.
FK08 is to confirm vendor modification regarding accounting data, that is at company level.
So, purchasing organization data being not concidered, vendor is unblocked for posting (all companies or selected company) but not for purchasing.

I don't understand what is the link between the '3-infoobjects attributes change run' (BBATCH, 0MAT_SALES, 0MAT_PLANT) and the rebuilt of 3 0IC_C03 (Material Stocks/Movements) aggregates (why does the 'attribute chan run' trigger the rebuit of aggregates???).
The rebuilt of the 3 aggregates takes 1 416, 3 366, 3 009 secondes...
Does anyone understand my problematic? If not I can give you more details.

Ntsc (60 fps) vs PAL (50 fps)?

Hi all,
I have to choose between NTSC with 60 FPS or PAL with 50 fps on my new GoPro camera (black edition hero3+). What should I do? I live in the Netherlands, so intuitively would go for PAL. But that lowers the framerate possibilities. Higher framerate will enhance my plans to edit certain parts in slowmotion. So, is it possible to shoot with NTSC at 60 fps, edit this movie (in a 60 fps project), burn it to blu ray with loss of quality? Or should I choose for PAL 50 fps?

Your thought processes are almost correct. Shoot 60fps and edit 25fps.
The frames per second for your sequence have little to do with the frames per second of your footage when you are shooting with the intention of playing it back in slow motion.
Now that we are not using interlaced footage, and we are not trying to solve the problems of frame size differences between PAL and NTSC, there is little difference between me shooting at 60fps to put it on a 24fps timeline, and you putting it on a 25fps timeline. At least not for the slow motion footage.
The slow motion footage will show every frame when you interpret the footage to 25fps. No problem. It will look great.
The question is, what will the 60fps footage look like when put on a 25fps sequence at normal speed? Keep in mind the shutter speed is different when shooting 25 or 60.
And I say "little" difference. The math of 60 to 24 might be easier for the program than 60 to 25. I doubt it. After all, it is just a matter of dropping frames.
So that leaves the footage content itself. If it can survive the dropped frames, then great! If it is a little choppy, then it really wasn't suitable.
You have to decide that for yourself. My suggestion is to shoot some sample footage for practice before you do it for anything important. Get to know your camera and how 60fps looks on a 25fps timeline on a BD.

Error as IBAN required when the user confirms the changes to Vendor master

Hi,
After making the change to vendor bank details in master user is managed to save the changes with out any errors. Now another user is trying to confirm the changes, here is system is throughing error as IBAN is required for vendor master..
Scenrio is Co code belongs Switzerland and the vendor country Kuwait..
Can anybody through some light, to solve the issue without generate or maintaining the IBAN, Since we dont have IBAN no provided for vendor.

Please check the configuration in FBZP payment method in Country/Payment Method in Company code. In that you can mandaatory the fields like address/IBAN for master records. Pls check that setting try to save the master.

The reason behind that error could be:
An attempt is made to activate a characteristic whose compounding was replaced and whose navigation attributes were simultaneously deleted. The replacement of the compounding temporarily deletes the M view of the characteristic during internal activation. The process of deleting navigation attributes involves converting the attribute SID tables. However, the M-view of the characteristic, which has just been deleted, is needed for this conversion.

Roll up process is used to refresh a target (example : aggregates) after new data are uploaded into a Cube

In CO06 tcode if confirmed quantity change it becomes '0'

In SD, if the confirmed quantity change from 200 to 100 it becomes '0' in CO06 tcode, after becomes '0' in the table level the entry is getting deleted.why it is happening, is it functional related or technical related, if technical where it will happen. Generally how it will happens in the business scenrarios. this program is standard one SAPMV45A so in which exit we can find the related information.
Please provide detailed scenario and in the technical (abap) point of view where needs to check and what needs to be done for this issue in the technical side if it is abap related issue.

You can achive with sales order save userexit, we have done same thing, but something differnt, like when creating delivery if system dont have stocks to deliver for some items then those items will have to place reason for rejction during delivery creation. Thats thing i did at MV50AFZZ/ ZB.
We have defined new reason for reection for this requirment, used to for this purpose.

Process chain best practice - attribute change runs

When building attribute change runs into Process Chains I see that there are potentially two main options to consider:
1. One to One mapping. Incorporate a separate attribute change run object type after each InfoObject has been loaded.
2. Many to One mapping. Build the process chain so that one single attribute change run occurs after all the InfoObjects have been loaded.
I would be interested to see how other people have incorporated their attribute loading into Process Chains.

We run the attribute change run twice in our daily process chain, here's our order:
- Load all master data
- Attrib change run
- Load all tx data
- Run ABAP programs that generate master data
- Attrib change run
I doubt there will be much of a performance difference if you do the change run after each master data load, but it makes the process chain a lot easier to read.
