2nd hand sk box for 2nd room help?

I have been given a 2nd box for a 2nd room i already havr full subscription. My bedroom is already wired i have plugged the box in and am getting all free chanels but not my full package or on demand features.
How do i pair up my sky viewing card? Do you need to over ride it with my viewig card number or do i need another viewing card?

For multiroom you need Sky multiroom, and Sky would provide a second viewing card. For activating a card on the other Sky box there is a facility for doing so on the web, just search google for 'activate sky channels'. Sky cannot be viewed on both boxes without pairing with that box at only onetime, so you'd need to continually pair the card when switching to the other box, with only the 1 viewing card.

Use of old BTVision box in 2nd room now on YouView

Hi,
I have had a YouView box pretty much from launch, and when tidying up cupboards this week found my old BT Vision box (black variety).
I was wondering if I could reuse this box in another room just as a Freeview receiver/recorder so not as a full multiroom subscription. Would I need to do any software updates to the box first as it hasn't been used for well over 1 year, and if did connect this box temporarily to the network would it throw my YouView box out at all.
Any helpful pointers would be very much appreciated,

OK....that worked. I used GIMP to export the picture as a .GIF and it now displays in a test file. I will export the files in question. Thanks for your help. Side note....

All of the 100 or so .jpgs displayed just fine last Christmas. Apple screwed somthing up in one of their software "upgrades". Our house is total Apple BECAUSE it "just works". No more. Apple needs to be a **** of a lot more careful or they WILL lose this reputation. Maps comes to mind...

Need help setting up MoCa for superior speed for upstair room in house

Hey guys i need some help. I just upgraded my plan to the 50/20 Fios and now i really want that speed upstairs to my gameroom. Before i had the 10/2 plan where wireless was sufficient (i could get 9mpbs download speed wirelessly everywhere i needed internet using the mi424wr)
But now this crappy (no offense ) router is just not sufficient for the 50mbps download speed. Even if my laptop is RIGHT NEXT to the router, i only get max speed of 20 - 23mpbs download. Whereas if im connected via ethernet, i get the full 50+Mbps download speed. For some reason the upload speed is fine at over 20mpbs. (Anyone has any explanation for this? If other 2.4ghz devices were causing interferences, shouldnt the upload speed be affected also?) And Yes, i have changed the channel to 11 (every other wifi network is on 6)

In any case i feel that MoCa would be a much cheaper and more reliable approach to achieve better speeds compared to buying a wireless n dual band router & adapter
Currently i have the ONT connect to the WAN Router VIA Coax
I also have Dish network for Tv services with the STB upstairs (same room where i want the Ethernet from MoCa to connect to PC,PS3). Not sure if relevent, but the dish is set up so that my downstair tv has acces to Dish tv VIA the coax connected to the STB upstairs. So ONE STB provides TV upstairs AND TV downstairs with dish services via Coax.
From the various articles i have read, this is my understanding of what i should do but of course im a newbie so i need your suggestions. I should add splitter the coax coming out of the ONT and connect one split to the router and the other split to the wall? then upstairs add a splitter to the coax connection from the wall and split one for dish STB and split one for MoCa actiontec which will then be connect to the internet and i could run ethernet from MoCa actiontec to ps3 and PC.
Is that anywhere even close to a working solution or im just dreaming that it would this easy? lol

Keep in mind, with Wireless you're limited by the fact that it is also a Half Duplex connection by design (can only send OR receive on a radio, can't do both like you can on Full Duplex Wired connections) which reduces speeds, and also protocol overhead which increases as you add additional devices to an access point.and increase traffic in a broad scale. So, if you're getting 22-25Mbps on Wireless G, that's about all you're going to get from it. 54Mbps is a theoretical limit with the assumption you've cut down all overhead, have a full duplex connection and are not encountering noise.
I recall seeing something on DSLReports about using MoCa with a Satellite TV provider, and it involved a lot of filtering within the coaxial to work. Ideally, you're best using a dedicated line for Coaxial if you're going to use MoCa to cut down on the complexity and risks caused by using a satellite system's coax.

No I'm not using NoScript, but I'm pleased to report that the problem got resolved by deleting the original bookmark, logging in again, opening Google calendar, then bookmarking it again.

But actually I don't want to show the \ (backslashes) to the user in my text box.
Ok let me elaborate this problem little more.
I want to show my text box as it is in normal editors e.g. In Matlab editor. There is a text box and on left side the gray bar shows the line numbers corresponding to the text. Further more i want that the user should be able to click on any line number to mark specific line as breakpoint (red circle or any graphical indication for mark).

Aperture does not show tick box for shared photo stream as promised on the help screen

I try to configure Aperture for iCloud shared Photo Stream. According to the help screen, I should select Preferences and see a panel with 4 tickboxes. The first three relate to My Photostream and work fine on all my devices. The crucial fourth tick box for sharing with others however does not show however. What else should I set-up to see the 4th tick box ?

• iMovie ill behaving - Trash the iMovie pref file - use to set things right
• in reg. to Photos - Did You change iPhoto Photo Library - Then iMovie get's lost as it peeks into iPhoto on start up to see where photos are stored. Set iPhoto back to first Photo Library (when iMovie is not running) then start iMovie.

Pretty much last chance saloon for BT - Any help a...

A tale to tell.
Around October last year, my internet connection dropped way down to unacceptable levels. After much toing and froing, this was finally resolved, and everything was fine again. Nowhere near the speed levels I was first promised, but acceptable.
Around 2 weeks ago, the speeds dropped again. Having more knowledge of what could cause this, I done all the various checks needed, but to no avail, so I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to call the helpline. The chap I spoke to was very enthusiastic. In fact, he wouldn't really shut up. Eventually, after doing a test on the line, he informs me that BT were doing work to upgrade my exchange (presumably to make it LLU compatible), and that's why I was experiencing slow speeds. He confidently claimed this work would be finished on Friday 5th March, and that I would experience faster speeds than I previously had. Up to 8Mb he says, although it would more likely be around 6Mb. Well, that was fine, as I'd been struggling through with speeds of 2Mb for ages, so I accepted the drop in speed if this was going to be the outcome.
So, the 5th came and went, and the speed remained at ridiculously low levels (0.01Mbps at one point, ie one fifth of the speed of dial up). On Sunday, I decided to call back. After hanging up on the first woman when she failed to understand the words, 'I have slow speeds can you help' (I thought it better to cut my losses and try again at that point, could have been a long one otherwise), I then spoke to another Indian lady, who, once again, done a full line test. She called back to say there was a Network fault on the line, and would need to pass the details to someone else. When I enquired about this 'exchange upgrade', she didn't know anything about it, which meant the first guy had basically just told me a pack of lies to get me off the line. Having worked in customer services for many years myself, I generally find this to be a somewhat unreliable tactic to use towards a customer, as the potential for comeback on it is somewhat high.
Ok, so, this woman promised I'd get a callback within 48 hours. I was pleasantly surprised that the callback came within 15 minutes. Actually, 'completely shocked' would be a more apt description. This feeling of well being didn't last longer than the girl's first sentence, however, as it was clear she was as clueless as a blind detective. She mumbled something again about 'network fault' and said someone else would call back this morning. Asking her if she actually knew what was wrong was akin to asking a Frenchman about the concept of heroic bravery, so I didn't persue the matter.
This morning, yet another person happened to phone my wife (I was at work, see) and was incredibly rude to her. This would have been bad enough, but she was very unwell today, and this turned into a very upsetting call. He was trying to get her to 'test the filters' and 'unscrew the front panel from the extension box' for some bozarre reason. Even more bizarre was his indignant claim that there wasn't actually any fault with the line. Another new revelation then.
And so we travel to early this afternoon, and I receive a phone call, at work, on my mobile. An Indian lady seemed delighted to tell me the 'fault' had been rectified, despite the previous chap's expert prognosis that was was, in fact, no fault. When she asked me to run a speed test, I pleasantly informed her this wouldn't be possible due to the logistics of me being at work. After a period of silence, whilst her brain tried to digest this latest nugget, she then proceeded to ask me to test it again, and again I replied that I couldn't. This was obviously too much information too quickly, and she quickly assured me the fault was fixed, and to, 'try bt.com', somewhat curiously.
Lo and behold, I get home this evening to find it exactly the same as before. Now, I'm no expert on the matter, but having run a test and got this information;
Download speedachieved during the test was - 53 Kbps

These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
I don't think it's an incredible leap of faith to assume that my IP profile is, well, stuck, given it shows a paltry '135kbps'. I was under the impression that when this happens, a manual reset is the way forward to alleviate this problem.
Anyway, that's all semantics. The bottom line is that I'm paying very good money for a service I'm clearly not receiving, and I'm giving you chaps and chapesses one final chance to rectify it. Failure to do this will result in a request for a MAC code, and I'll be off to that attractive looking service in the SKY. The fact I've been lied to on several occasions, and my wife was upset by a cad of the lowest order is the veritable cherry on top of this metaphorical cake of sh.... you get the drift.
I appeal to someone sensible in BT land to help me with this. Surely such a person exists.

Open it up. Buy a new replacement drive. Install Mac OS. Then give it to them if you still have trouble.
As for the install failing,
I never do the older "archive and install"
I format and initialize first, even zero the drive, and only then install.
of course all the data is lost.
Data Rescue 3 demo can scan a drive but you need to have setup a 2nd boot drive to work from, AND you would need part of that 2nd drive partition for recovery of data. 30-50GB system partition and 150% the size of the drive you want to recover.
TimeMachine I never adopted or liked but 350% and would only use as secondary backup with cloned copy of your drive.
Backups can be scheduled, run at night or weekend or both, a weekly clone and daily sets.
Disk Warrior 4.2+ is another $100 (DR3 is about same but demo is free to try).
A spare external drive case $30? and TWO hard drives, a replacement and backup/recovery $100 each?
Just some ideas to throw out there....
Bootable clones though you will find are very useful, handy.
I like the small 40GB emergency boot partition - put one on your TimeMachine drive etc.
LION: the one good thinig: it has a recovery mode partition and new Macs have "net install" feature and minimal hardware diagnostic over the internet to do Apple Hardware Test. Lion $30 and might actually want to install it on external.
So DO try installing OS X on one of your external drives - create 40GB volume just for that - if you can please.

Newbie question on report design for multiple pages - HELP!

I am upgrading an existing accounting program to use Crystal reports. The accounting program generates account statements for our investors. Each account needs to have 1 statement (which typically is only 1 page long).
I have a table that has 1 record per activity per account. Every account has a unique code and the report is set to group records by this code. Therefore, an account can have 1+ records associated with it that need to be displayed in the details section.
To test my report I have 4 records in my table -- 2 records for account code 'ABCD' and 2 records for account code 'WXYZ'. The report correctly groups the records together and summarizes the necessary information, but it DOES NOT create a page break.
I don't understand what else I need to do in the designer to force it to create a new page everytime the account code changes... It's basically a mail-merge type functionality that I am looking for!
Any help is appreciated.

In the gray section to the left of the report design, right-click on the group footer for the Account Code and select 'Section Expert'. Turn on "New Page After". To prevent a blank page at the end of your report, click on the formula button to the right of the check-box and enter "not OnLastRecord".
