If I go into the store and they have it, can they cancel my online order from the store or do you have to cancel first online and then go to the store? My ship date is Aug 13th and I'd rather not wait, but i don't want to get screwed over and lose "both" phones
I've been able to log on in a store and cancel an on-line order myself using their computers. Clearly need to do that first so your upgrade eligibility is restored.
Best would be to call your local store and ask if that can be done, since it may be easier in some stores than others.

  • Reasons for 2-3 weeks shipping delay!

I was intrested in fiding out why the shipping in the USA was 2-3 weeks for the iPad 2, so I did abit research and emailed a few tech-sites for some confirmation.
Anyway MacRumours and ElectricPig got back in contact, the reason for the 2-3 week shipping delay is becuase USA was allocated so many units of the iPad 2 and these units were mostly for the retails stores Apple, Walmart, Best Buy etc etc, hence no online pre order until the 11th.
Intresting to know is that in a reply email I got, I was told that Apple did not want to make the mistake of repeating last years poor international delayed launch! Because there are rival tablets coming out very soon (PlayBook April) Apple do not want disgruntled customers going elsewhere.
Thus the reason for the 2-3 week delay is down to the international launch of the iPad 2

I got in early with my online order because I won't wait in line for hours at a store to get it. My order was placed at 3:50am and at 4:20am I got my confirmation email telling me it will ship in 3 to 5 days and that's fine with me. I would also be upset if I tried to order online and got the 2 to 4 week time and now today it's 3 to 5 weeks. That's a little long for me and I would probably just not buy one at the 3 to 5 weeks and see what comes along from other companies. For me its a toy and not an important piece of equipment.
With all that said retail is all about supply and demand. They got the demand and I guess you can only make so many but you would think they could have been a little more prepared for the first day sales. It's like they announced the thing and then decided to make them. I never understood why they made us wait to order online. They could have taken those orders and given you a ship date after the release date and had a pretty good idea how many they would need to fill that part. I guess that's why they're such a successful company, because they know what they're doing even though we don't understand their thinking.

  • IMACs showing as 2 week shipping down from 3 weeks in UK Store

no suggestion why, no rumour but just noticed!

I really do think you are expecting too much from Apple. They have shipped millions of iPads to thousands of outlets all over the world and 99% of people are getting them much earlier than promised. compare that performance to UK furniture stores for example. If you have been promised online delivery by 4th May you will almost certainly get it before then. Apple's philopsophy on delivery dates is to under-promise and over deliver. Obviously nothing is going to be delivered over the two bank holiday periods you are now facing but if I was a betting man I would expect you to receive your iPad by Thursday next week, or at the latest by the first business day after the bank holiday..
Whatever system they run in the stores is never going to please everyone - if each store in the world only gets a certain number of iPads a week then that means that they can only supply that many customers. I read somewhere that the production lines (plural) produce over 90 iPads a minute - not many companies can beat that.
Mine meanwhile was delivered too early for me to receive it as I am not due back in the UK until next week.....

  • IPhone 4 ships within 3 weeks?

    Hi,
I would like to order new iPhone 4 from Apple Store UK, but 3 weeks shipping not acceptable to me because after 2 weeks I go to my holidays.
Is the shipping time still 3 weeks or it could be faster?
    Thank you for your answers!

Hi there, a lot of UK cstomers are reporting that there phones are arriving up to a week earlier. If you don't mind it being locked to a network i'd say try Carphone Warehouse as they always seem to have stock.

  • My new iPad shipping confusion...

I am confused. I ordered 2 new iPads on the 10th. I was late and got a 4 week shipping notice. My account said to be delivered on April 3rd. No big deal, the apple store is far away from me.
My brother ordered his on the 20th, he got his today.
Now come the confusion, I called Apple and asked the status on my shipping and they said my account stated to be delivered between 3/27 and 4/3. But i was looking at my account at that time and it still stated 4/3 as the delivery date. They apologized but still could not tell me how my brother got his before me.
After the phone call, I happened to navigate away for a second and back and on the refresh my delivery date changed to what Apple had said between 3/27 and 4/3.
So now I am very confused. When will it arrive. Any guesses out there. And are people getting their iPads now who order after me. Was I lost in the Apple que?

Maybe I'm judgemental, I'm not commenting on your brother's part though.
It seems that Apple's delivery timeline is too vague. My online shopping experience is telling me that too. It can be a case where the iPad is supposed to be delivered on lets say 27 Mar but without earlier notice, they've already sent DHL or any other delivery courier to ring your bell on the 26th.
With that first experience I had, as my I was not aware I could have my New iPad+iPad Smart Cover shipped at the same time, I received my Smart Cover earlier and the situation I was pointing out was what happened to the Smart Cover. Fortunately I have someone at home who could sign the parcel but this cannot always be the case.
This same thing happened to my New iPad and it was delievered to me at an earlier date than what was stated as the exact date. However, I've already picked up lessons from my first experience and my contingency plan was to phone the sales each day to ask them about the delivery of the iPad as they were able to draw more conclusive answers and advise me when would the courier arrive.
DHL isn't going to call me, Apple isn't going to call me either on the earlier delivery date! They could have done better by placing out an advance notice by message/call via the deliveryman! What they merely do is update an online tracking status with the help of a tracking number. But the tracking details have a lag. We know in such situations you have to be notified in advance. Hey come on, HP is telling DHL courier to place an advance notice with my laptop's pick up and return warranty service call and everyone out there in the market is probably doing such a practice.
Wake up Apple, are you communicating?

  • Shipping (Online Store)

It says 2-4 weeks shipping, so how do I know what to expect? Does it all depend on at what time you ordered? I ordered around 6:30 PDT so would that mean I could get it in 2 weeks or longer?

At 10:00 pm, I cancelled my order when my friend told me Apple's downtown San Francisco store still had iPhones. I drove down and picked it up around 11:30 pm.
I suppose there's a chance it will ship faster than the 2-4 week time frame.
But, I think there's a better chance of picking one up in a store before that thing ships.

  • Shipping times New Macbook Pro With Retina Display

My question is that I placed an order for a new macbook pro on July 19th when it stated that there is still a 3 to 4 week shipping wait but I checked this morning and it has improved to 1 to 2 weeks my question is does this mean my mac could be shipped earlier or will i have to wait the full 3 to 4 weeks?
    Thanks

I initially had a 3 day wait, which blew out to 3-4 weeks, and has now reduced to 2-3 weeks, all in the space of 1 actual day. From my conversations with Apple customer support, I get the impression that nobody you'll speak to will have any idea of when the item will actually be shipped, until it actually IS shipped. As frustrating as it is, I don't mind waiting a month for something that will last me 4-5 years.

  • Updates on online order ship times....

Thought I would share my experience.
Ordered a 5s 64gb online via AT&T.  At first they had a ship time of 7-14 days listed.  After placing the order, that ship time changed to a month from now, Oct. 20th to 30th.
Today I receive a message from AT&T stating that Fedex has picked up the package and will deliver it by Monday afternoon.
I did stop by a local AT&T store, (where I was able to purchase a 4S upon its release late in the afternoon), thought I would try my luck. They had run out 3 hours ealier.  No worries, ordered it online, glad I did not stand in line.
Anyone else have a similiar experience with their online order?

Weird thing  is idk if this is happening to me to because when I ordered my iphone 5s space gray it said 3 weeks shipping but I called sprint today and they told me they showed a delivery for the 25 of this month but I haven't got tent any information on it I have no tracking or shipping alert nothing but sprint told me they have a delivery for the 25 which is strange but I hope it does come on the 25 better then waiting 3 weeks

  • Baseline Date not chaning using BADI FAGL_SET_SEGMENT

If someone has worked with this badi FAGL_SET_SEGMENT, can you please help.
I'm trying to change the baseline date for the vendor invoice created using FB60.  I implemented the above BADI and changed the value of Baseline Date and Cash discount days based on the business logic. But the change is not reflecting in the document.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

I understand the proposed solution but I do not think this should be a custom coding requirement.  The underlying assumption of the invoice payment term is that goods / services have been delivered.  The transfer of title should be a configurable trigger for the vendor payment baseline date.  Many consumer goods are shipped FOB to the customer destination with a 3-4 week shipping timeline.  Normal payment terms run 30-45 days.  We want our baseline date to start when the title transfers.  I can understand the GR document does not take the place of a proof of delivery but it is much closer to the the point where we actually transfer title then when we normally receive the invoice (2 days after vendor shipment).  Of course I have been through the argument that the invoice document date should be manipulated but I do not buy into it because it envokes a form of dispute management on a standard flow.  Initially I went down the path of GR based IV which follows the same logic as above for the release of ultimate payment.  I am confused as to why the standard solution does not provide an equivalent configuration for baseline date computation.  Can anyone explain why this is the case or whether I am just missing something obvious?

  • Baseline date as GR date

    Hi,
Baseline date is configured based on Payment Terms, that can be possible using customizing, there is no relation with GR date and other dates.
Still if you want set the Baseline date with some other default date or PO date, or GR date, -
    IT IS POSSIBLE
    by enhancements
directly applying enhancements will not work for you, you just have to work smartly by applying 2 enhancements to get the desired results
I tried it on ECC 6, and it is working very fine

  • Camera connection kit - useless delay Again

Well, the camera connection kit said 2-3 weeks ship 4 weeks ago, now it says 3-4 weeks, looks like I will be returning 5 of my brand new factory sealed iPads since apple can't seem to get it together, and when the few do come into a retail location, the employees buy them up and resell them.

You know that the projection isn't an estimate of when they'll be readily available but an estimate of when you will receive yours if you order now. You don't have to wait for it to get to zero to order.
In other words... If you would have ordered 4 weeks ago you would have them already.

  • Motion Certification

I am interested in studying and taking the Apple Motion Certification exam and was wondering if anyone has any advice.
I am getting the book from peachpit press (http://www.peachpit.com/title/0321278267)
But I'm having a hard time finding a list of objectives, or examples of things to expect.
Has anyone here taken the test (level 1 at-least) that can point me in the right direction or help me know what to expect?
    Thanks!
    ~Arkling

Has anyone here taken the test (level 1 at-least) that can point me in the right direction or help me know what to expect?
I actually just took the exam for Motion 2 yesterday. I thought it was very hard. But I suppose a certain amount of backstory is required here...
I was asked by someone whom I really respect - who posts here - if I knew Motion and told him I didn't because a) I haven't had a project that really let me run wild with it and b) I feel my motion graphics skills are lacking. But it did get me thinking - there's no better way (for me, at least) to learn something than to do it under pressure. So, despite the fact that I'd used Motion 2 maybe 5 times since I installed it, I decided not just to learn Motion 2 but to take the exam too (I'm currently in-between gigs and have time, lots of time). That, and my business card is looking a little empty.
Though Amazon said 2-4 weeks shipping, I was lucky enough to find Damian Allen's book at a (Manhattan) Barnes and Noble on Friday night. I went thru the book all weekend and on Monday, then took the test yesterday.
Why the long backstory? Because, while I did pass - though only just barely - if I was more seasoned with the program, I don't think I would have found it nearly as difficult even though I knew the material from APTS book very well.
For those interested, here's the advice I'd give...
About 5 out of the 50 questions - were not directly related to material from the APTS book. For instance, on my exam, there was a question on interleaved particles.
The questions - as Mike Grimm mentions - are phrased in such a manner that inexperienced users can be easily thrown off. Give yourself the benefit of playing with the program extensively (That, or memorize the manual). In particular, know why and when you can or can't do something in Motion. And by that I mean, in the Motion manual, take special notes on all the 'Note: this functionality will not work if...' stuff
Be able to define all the choices you're given in terms of Motion's drop-down boxes and parameter offerings. For instance, what, exactly, does 'Pick From Range' do when you select that?
Get Damian Allen's book, it's excellent. There are some questions on the exam that directly reference info - ie, 'industry' lingo - not in the manual. On my exam, they asked what a 'sprite' is.
Test details: there are 50 questions and you're given 2 hours to finish. All multiple choice. Passing is 80% or better.
I have to run, but if you have further questions, feel free to ask...

  • Seller mistake & I pay customs twice? What is fair here?

I bought a new suit from a seller (700+, 100% feedback) and the item arrived in the wrong size. Seller was very communicative when I messaged her and asked me to return and she would refund the return shipping, fair enough. I had to go out of town on business, and since I had already paid Customs on the wrong package, I asked if she would be patient a couple of days as I had to contact the Post Office to figure out how to fill out the return customs form to reflect that it was a return (and not purchased merchandise), and that I also had to contact Canada Customs to find out how the 2nd package needed to be sent to reflect that it was a replacement so that I wouldn't be charged a 2nd time when the correct package came through. Seller responded by giving me a Cdn address to ship the return to, and I'm fine with that, but I didn't get a chance to return before I left town. I got back Wednesday evening last week, shipped the return to the address provided ($15), received a Parcel pickup notice on Thursday, picked it up on lunch on Friday - and sure enough, it is the replacement/correct suit I should have recieved, but I had to pay ANOTHER $31 for this parcel. When I grumbled to the Postal worker about having to pay for both packages (she remembered me as she helped me ship the return), she said "Oh no, didn't you ship that return within Canada?" And when I confirmed that, she told me that she is pretty sure this voided my reimbursement elibility with CBSA as they require "proof of export". So, I do seller a favor and I get dinged? I've now paid an additional $77 total ($31 + $31 + $15) when it rightly should have only cost an additional $31. Seller previously agreed to refund the $15 (cheaper for her to ship within Canada), but has been radio-silent on my issue that she re-sent the correct parcel but didn't wait for me to contact Customs on how to ship it correctly so that I didn't get dinged again. I don't want to be her first neg, but this just seems really unfair. Especially the fact that she has completely ignored my email (and no, I was not nasty/accusatory/etc - I outlined the situation and asked what she thought was fair.) Does anybody think I have any "wiggle room" with CBSA since I can show receipt/return (although within Canada)/receipt of a 2nd package? Any way you think I can argue my case with them? After jumping through all these hoops, what feedback would you leave if your seller is not being helpful/responsive? Thank you,Lora

I'm assuming here that the seller did not send the size that was advertised in the listing. If that's the case, she should have sent the replacement suit with the customs form saying something like "Return of Adressee's Own Property" to avoid the second customs charge. Since you are significantly out-of-pocket due 100% to the seller's error, I would email them and ask (nicely!) for a refund of $15 (shipping back to her) + $31 (second customs charge). Don't mention negative feedback or dinged stars!  This is very important. If you don't get satisfactory resolution, then I would leave appropriate factual negative or neutral feedback. Do not get emotional! Your feedback left reflects on you just as much as it does on the seller. Something like, "Had to pay 2 customs charges due to seller error; seller uncooperative" would be factual. You can also ding her stars accordingly if you feel it is warranted. But keep in mind that feedback is your very last option, not to be used until all other avenues are exhausted. If the seller does agree to work with you, even if it is only a partial refund, do take it into consideration. In that case I would either leave a soft positive or no feedback at all. Good luck!

  • My Horrible ShopBlackBerry Passport Buying Experience

Created an account as I've read that this is the only channel of communication getting any response from BlackBerry directly for this situation.
I am very disappointed with my ShopBlackBerry purchasing and customer service experience of the Passport. I placed my order on the morning of October 4th for the VIP edition of the device on the ShopBlackBerry Canadian website to be shipped to Toronto.
On October 6th, I reviewed my credit card statement and saw a post-dated charge on for my order on October 4th . After reviewing my original order submissions and confirmation emails, I found out that Digital River was the third party responsible for managing the the ShopBlackBerry Online storefront. Using their online order tracking system, there was no update on the status of my order and it was categorized as 'other'.‎
‎I reviewed  Digital River's ‎'customer service information' web page and found the following:‎
‎"For purchases of physical products, your credit card won't be billed until your product is shipped. This includes any pre-ordered or backordered products."‎
    ‎http://www.findmyorder.com/store/findmyor/en_US/DisplayCustomerServiceHelpAnswersPage/faqLink.d2
I was delighted to see this as I thought my order was being shipped and there was a lag in my order status! I went out to a Telus store to try out the device in anticipation of my order coming in. I even watched the whole Passport keynote announcement! On October 8th, I once again checked my order status and it was still categorized as 'other'. No tracking information or status update. I decided to call the Digital River customer service line to see if any update could be provided. I was told that I need to give them 48 hours to escalate the service ticket and get a order status update. That deadline has gone and passed and I still don't know why there is a charge on my card.
On October 7th, I received an order cancellation email with an order number I didn't recognize for a purchase I never made nor got an order submission/confirmation  from. On the same call mentioned before to Digital River, I inquired about this and was told‎ that I should not worry about this and that they did not know why this happened.
I decided to search online for those in a similar situation to see if there was anyone else was also experiencing difficulties with ShopBlackBerry.‎ What I found was that many purchasers are now in the same situation whereas others have received different information of where their order may be. There are even those who got a back-order information and got assurance that their phone would ship by October 29th. I have not received any such communication. And even if this was the case and the order is going to be shipped later on, my credit card should not show a real (not pending) charge.
John Chen at the Passport launch announcement said that it was a priority to win back their home market of Canada. Using a third party American company to manage a storefront with a customer service call centre that is further outsourced overseas that cannot even provide a proper status update nor follow it's own credit card charge policies and procedures nor keep track of order cancellations is not the way to do it. The ShopBlackberry online storefront which is directly linked on the BlackBerry.com website should be a reliable source for BlackBerry product purchases. Instead it has tarnished the brand, puts into question the security of my credit card information, and has destroyed consumer confidence. ‎
I am and still a supporter of BlackBerry and hope it has a bright future. Right now, I am typing this message on a Q10 on the road. This photo was taken last year of the Blackberry products that my family uses:
At this point, I am the only one using any Blackberry product. Everyone else has moved on.‎
I can't good conscience recommend to anyone I know to purchase any BlackBerry product and this experience has really put into question my future smartphone and enterprise solution orders. I really hope that this situation can be resolve‎d and a consistent and clear communication to all Passport purchasers on ShopBlackBerry is made. It is ridiculous that anyone has to rely on hearsay and post on support forum to possibly get a response.
‎All I want to either cancel my order (which customer service has said is not possible) so I can move onto another phone purchase with another company or if my order is backordered and not shipping at this point, for the charge on my credit card to to reversed until it is. I understand that mistakes happen but this is not an isolated case of just my purchase.
Current status: Credit card charged for BlackBerry Passport, no ‎shipping status update, no back-order email, no possible ship date email.
    Order #: ‎9333723635‎
    Cancelled Order # which I didn't order #: 9333704335
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I am in the same boat: I placed my order for the VIP edition, and I was excited when the charge appeared on my credit card the next day so hopefully I'd have the device in a matter of days. I had read that the VIP device has a slightly different design and comes with the case and three chargers for travellers... the idea of the device being exclusive was appealing.
    Now the skuttlebut is:
    1) despite my credit-card already showing the charge, apparently the device hasn't shipped;
    2) I have received no further communication regarding the status of my order, but clearly there is some kind of delay;
    3) expressly ordering the VIP edition and I now hear that it is not the VIP edition, but just the regular edition, which is itself a letdown, because the order I placed was for a VIP edition.
Outright cancellation of my order with an apology would have been disappointing but mistakes do happen... but to have my charge applied to my card and have a two week shipping delay AND to hear that it isn't the VIP edition at all, it all feels like a bait-and-switch situation.
I love BlackBerry and again, cancelling my order outright due to the VIP edition not even being available is disappointing but understandable, but billing the card THEN saying "oh, by the way, it's not the VIP edition" is a bit much.
EDIT and now to hear that orders can not be cancelled, the only recourse is to wait a month for delivery and refuse the item and wait even longer for the credit-card charge to be reversed? Wow, you would not know that digital river has been running online stores for almost 20 years based on this: it IS amateur hour, apparently.

  • Is the new Retina Macbook Pro available in your store yet?

Just curious. Because I'm standing in mine right now waiting for the shipment.

I live near Toronto, Canada and called 6 Apple Stores within 1.5 hours away and none have them
I also called Buffalo, NY store and they sold out this morning he said
I don't want to wait 2-3 weeks + shipping. Blah
