3750 powers itself off but power still conencted?

I have a stack of 2 * 3750-48PS switches. For some unknown reason this morning at 9.00am the stack master just powered itself off even though the mains power cable was still connected. Both switches are connected to the same UPS and I can't see any errors logged on the UPS management system. I have looked through syslog and there were no prior warnings as to why the switch did this.
The resolution (hopefully not the final one...) was just to remove the power cable from the rear of the switch and re-insert it. I checked beforehand and the power cable was firmly attached.
Any ideas or is this likely to be a hardware (PSU?) fault?

yes, it might be a hardware issue, try using a different power cable.

    why do you say it's not normal.
    it always switches itself on after i update. it just did again, this time for 7.1.2.. i t also will switch on after a restore.
    i never use bluetooth and make sure it's not on for any other reason.
    it's been noticed by others too.

    That means you really did not restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    Go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and setting and try setting the iPod up again.

  • My iMac has started powering itself off

    I have an iMac with a 3.2 GHz Intel i3 core, it is about 9 months old now.  A few weeks ago I upgraded the OS from Snow Leopard to Lion 10.7.1.  The install and upgrade went very smoothly, but I started to see that my machine now turns itself off rather than go to sleep when I am not using it actively  Rather than having to touch a key or move the mouse to wake it, I need to use the power button and wait for a full boot-up.
    I have spoken to the support people who suggested the following
    run the apple Hardware tests - that found no problems
    reset power and p-ram (disconnect all cables, wait for a while, reconnect then power up and hold command-option-p-r keys
    After this the frequency with which it powers down seems to have reduced, but it has not stopped altogether.  I am pretty sure it was stopping every time I went away for any length time - I can't say how long, but anywhere from half an hour or more is my best guess. 
    A couple of days ago it was fine all day, despite me leaving it unattended for a few hours.
    Yesterday it powered itself off at some point in the the afternoon when I went out for a meeting. 
    Today is stayed up while I was out for 3+ hours. 
    I have used the Console to look at the logs, and there is nothing that looks like an error before an extended gap in the log's times followed by a boot message..
    If I explicitly put the iMac to sleep I am pretty sure it always wakes up just fine.

    Thanks, I habe got it and tne various temperatures are between 35 and 47 Celcius if I leave it alone for a while, they seem to get around 7 degrees hotter when I am using it.

    After switching if on , it passes post test and enters grub menu (Linux + Windows) or BIOS
    without problems, but most of the time after the selected OS start to boot -up, suddenly it powers-off.
    The problem is getting bigger and bigger as i hardly can boot any of the OS
    As seen on earlier posts I cleaned up CPU vents with a spray just for sure i was not an overheatting problem.
    Anyone have an insight of whats can be happening??

    Sorry but i have bad news
    Finally the 30secs trick did not solve anything.
    As on threadID=15116 my laptop does not run and charge battery at the same time, resulting of total drain of battery and need to power-off to charge.
    Some times on charging batt while powered-off the batt gets disconnected and no charges anymore. You need to unplug all and start again.
    When powered-on sometimes battery charges, some times the battery led shuts off and draining start again till full batt is over.
    I've ordered a new AC adapter to try to solve the problem, but if no success my laptop will be finally dead as i estimate a full mainboard replacemente costs 510 (from sources on google, not calling oficial customer service).
    This is almost a new computer. Anything over 100$ is innaceptable.

    Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your phone and re-download it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on it, or the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
    If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
    If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page.

    If you got the iPad from your school, and the Installing Apps restriction is 'off' but greyed out (as you 've said here https://discussions.apple.com/message/16137325#16137325) so that the App Store app is hidden, then it's likely that your school has set the restriction - you will need to ask them to remove the restriction for you.

    The router is in your house.
    In a nutshell, a modem communicates with the Internet and brings a single communications link to your house,  The router takes that single link and divides it up among many links, both wired and wireless, to support many devices in your house.  The router and the modem may be separate physical boxes or, more commonly, they're in the same enclosure.
    Unfortunately, if there is a firewall in the router, you will need help.  I don't think that it's a good idea to try to walk you through it via the forum.  You should contact the router supplier and have them walk you through the investigation.

    In cases like this, the first guess is Align to Pixel Grid.
    You may select everything and then untick Align to Pixel Grid in the Transform palette, and also untick Align New Objects to Pixel Grid in the flyout options.
    You may avoid document types with that as default (RGB for web and the like) or change the default for such documents.

    I'll charge my phone up overnight then a couple of hours into the next day the battery wil be down to about 20% then it will say I only have 10% left even though I will have 20% if you see what I mean? And then to top it off it turns itself off and won't let me recharge!!

    Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
    Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
    Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
    After at least 15 minutes, if:
    The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary.     My Time capsule did a backup yesterday in the morning without any problem. All of a sudden, it disconnected from the wireles system last night and the little indicator lamp turned off. It still makes a noice, as if a disc was turning inside. The Time Capsule was bought last year in June. Any suggestiom what to do? What happens if I press the little buttom (reset?), will I loose af my backup?

    Do a reset.. power off the TC..
    Hold in reset and power on.. keep holding in reset until it flashes rapidly.. if it turns on at all.
    If you bought it in June.. take it back today.. it is broken.. at a guess.
    Some Gen4 are failing this way.. get Apple to replace it.. even if it is a few days out of warranty it won't be much.
